Shelia Adopts Simmons AU
Shelia had made Tex Simmons guardian when she’s not there. So she’s Aunt Tex.
Simmons: Wait…. Does that make Carolina my sister/ cousin?
Simmons: OH GOD DOES THAT MAKE CHURCH MY UNCLE/ COUSIN/ BROTHER? Nope, never mind not going to think about it.
Grif, Tucker, Wash: WHAT THE FXCK DO YOU MEAN????!!!!?????
Carolina sees Simmons as her little brother.
He is her cousin.
Church (?) is her brother.
Church (?) are Tex’s ex (?).
Simmons: Like I said, I’m not thinking about it.
With Caboose having a thing for Shelia and Shelia adopting Simmons, how would that conversation go? I don’t want to fxcking know.
But I love the funny line of: I don’t know how, but for some fxcking reason Tex came back from the dead to kick Grif’s xss!
Carolina: If you make him cry, I’ll finish what Tex started!
Grif: No, not the balls!
Carolina: Yes, the balls!
——-
How about this:
Carolina: Grif, what did I say about fxcking Simmons while I’m under the same roof?
Grif: That’s not fair, you never fxcking leave!
Carolina: That’s the whole point, Jack xss!
Grif: You’re not even on the same Dxmn team! You shouldn’t be anywhere near red base!
Carolina: Tough shxt, cxckbite!
Simmons: Big sis, come on! It’s not like that! Grif’s just… uh… messing with you! We aren’t even a couple!
Carolina: Oh yeah? Then why are you wearing his hoodie?
Simmons: Cough… uh… n-no reason…
Carolina: Simmons, if I see hickies I will Fxck up Grif’s face.
Simmons: Well it’s a good thing there aren’t any hickies then! Because we weren’t doing anything!
Carolina: I’m still watching you, Grif, you bxstxrd.
Simmons: Carolina!!!
Simmons: That’s it! I’m going over to Locus and I’m asking him to fxck me! Again!
Simmons:… um Grif…? D-do you want to-to join?
Grif: Cough couch cough Uh y-yeah sure!
Carolina: Oh hxll no!
Carolina and Locus become locked in combat as Grif sneaks off with Simmons holding his hand.
Okay so things got out of hand…. Sorry about that!

Early Mornings
Dialogue Prompt Asks
#29“It’s too early for this, just go back to sleep.”
#30 “If I tell you I love you will you make me pancakes?”
#36 “Poke me once more and see what happens.”
Domestic AU Wash/Locus/Tucker
This is my first ever poly fic for my babies, so lets just all cross our fingers and hope for the best that I did this ship some justice!
Somewhere around the time of day where the early dawn of morning held the last glimmering stars in the violet lightening sky. Where it wasn’t black and the room had lightened with the promise of a brand new day. Everyone would still be seeping into the world, the rare few would be up for an early work day that was filled with papers and business meetings. What a torturous life those poor assholes had, stuck behind cubicles wearing tight suits that some expensive name brand company had the finest thread anyone could ever touch.
A pair of stormy grey eyes, that nearly matched the violet hue of dawn, fluttered gently open until his pupils met the ceiling of his bedroom. His breath left in the form of a long yawn while back arched off the bed just a little bit. A grumble had caused Washington’s head to turn just the slightest. The sight of Tucker sprawled out on his side of the bed, the grey linen sheets hugging his bare body and the little pout he had when he slept was heavenly. Oh right out of the three ex-soldiers that slept in this house Washington was the only one to be up before the sunrise.
His dry lips cracked in a sleepy smile before he leaned over to lay a good morning kiss upon the dark-skinned man’s head. It only caused Tucker to frown in his light sleep and respond with a ‘fuck off McScouty’ oh yeah he still dreams about that asshole of a merc. It was how much Tucker hated him. The weight of the bed lifted as Wash rolled out of bed, then started to change and get ready for the day. The slight traces of his dark circles had long since worn off years ago but the faded purple still clung to his skin like bruises. It was a sleepy little routine the male went through as he tugged on that dark blue uniform, and secure that bright golden police badge right over his heart. Yes even after getting out of the military, Washington was still fighting against the bad guys and kicking ass. That’s what Tucker like to believe his whole job as a Sheriff is anyway.
One more good yawn slipped past his lips, his coffee-deprived brain had sent his feet to drag across the white carpet of the house. It didn’t bother him that the coffee machine, which would growl loudly and pop once Wash had pressed the on button of the machine, to wake up Locus. Locus was just another early bird just like Washington that’s why he liked the ex-mercenary so much. He was almost up earlier than the blonde and would have his cup of black coffee ready and warm for his boyfriend to drink. Yes, all three had gotten along nice enough to actually fall for each other all at the same time its a shocker to everyone but not to the three men.
As predicted once the dark roasted coffee had started to brew and pour into a coffee cup, Wash conveniently placed under the little spout, the dark oak door of a spare bedroom had creaked open. Locus had run a hand through his long black hair that still was tangled from the long signs of sleep, he padded into the kitchen to the coffee machine without a word to Wash in return. Like the blonde, both ran on that coffee in the morning in order to brace themselves for whatever the day would hold.
“Good morning to you too sunshine.” Wash talked into his coffee before he took a long hot drink. The slap of three shots of expresso had his blood pumping hard through his veins and straight to his heart.
“Good morning.” Locus replied lowly over the loud growling of the coffee machine. The deep roast of coffee beans filtered through the air once more and filled the house with its aroma nicely.
The door creaked open once again while Wash had taken the chance to drink the rest of his coffee in two gulps. A groan rang out while bare feet thudded against the floorboards, his blue eyes had peeked over the rim of his kitten coffee mug only to have that bitter drink nearly choke him from the sight of Tucker. Locus had stared at the dark-skinned male with no emotion while he took a long sip.
“It’s too early for this, just go back to sleep.” Locus grounded out while his eyes tore away from the bare naked Tucker just to see Wash coughing up his coffee in the sink.
His pale skin was flushed red and his eyes watered from the sudden harsh inhale of liquid. The large hand of the ex-mercenary struck down on Wash’s back hard enough to send the male nearly sprawling to his knees on the floor.Tucker scowled before he crossed his arms over his chest, his dark eyebrows furrowed while he marched over to Locus’s side.
“If I go change will you do something for me?” Tucker raised a brow just like Locus did, while he set down the steaming cup of coffee.
“No.” Locus had dared to keep his eyes above waist level. really he tried the ex-merc had so much more decency than any other human being that was staring at a naked person, but his eyes started to wander before he knew it.
“What if I tell you I love you, will you make me pancakes?” Tucker cast his gaze to Wash and winked when he caught the blonde finally recovering from the sight. Although that wink he threw at his man had sent the male into a sputtering of coughs again.
“How about you go change and I’ll take the I love you as a favor that you’ll owe me for cooking.”
“Deal!” Tucker smirked confidently while he strode out of the kitchen with a small sway of achievement in his hips. That scene did not help Wash recover any faster, but it sure made Locus’s eyes never leave the male’s back until the bedroom door closed behind him.
With that Locus had set to cooking an early morning breakfast that Tucker would probably eat later once Wash was out the door and on his way to the crime-ridden streets of the city.
As Locus had predicted once Wash had headed out the door after a few quiet minutes had passed by, which allowed the ex-freelancer to gather his bearings together somewhat easily. With a mumbling of ‘I need to go, don’t kill each other.’ and a kiss goodbye the blonde had his police hat that was pulled tightly over his hair and trudged out the door. just as the bedroom door swung open.A tucker wearing aqua and grey clothing walked out into the kitchen, his senses being led to the frying pans that cooked sweet smelling brown pancakes, bacon, and Locus’s amazingly fluffy eggs that never seemed to burn or turned brown no matter how long they cooked.
Tucker had snuck around the hulking form of his boyfriend and reached into frying pan that held a pile of sizzling strips of crisp bacon. With a huff a black spatula, that was once flipping pancakes over, had smacked his hand away from the hot pan. A scowl and a slight warning glare were traded between the two men that stood stoically in front of the stove. Without breaking eye contact from Locus’s hazel green yes the ex-soldier tried to reach into the pan again for the bacon but only received another smack from the spatula on the hand. \
“Stop it or else you’ll get burned.” Locus gritted out with an annoyed expression while his attention drifted elsewhere as he turned off the burners for all three pans that were on the stove.
Tucker opened his mouth to say something maybe along the lines of ‘you know what else burns? Me when I take a piss.’ but before he could even utter out his comically bad sentence hot greasy pork had been stuffed in his mouth rather harshly. His eyes widened while he blinked in recognition, did Locus just feed him? Or just to shut him up? He had to just ask in order to piss the male off, with a mental smirk he did.
With a full mouth, the male had poked Locus’s side repeatedly his words were muffled. A broken record of Locus’s name muffled over the taste of greasy fatty foods while a bony finger had dug into his side nearly made the ex-merc snap with annoyance. The grip on the spatula tightened until the plastic cracked down the middle.
“Poke me once more and see what happens, Lavernius.” Deadly words seeped from tight lips while he slipped the last pile of eggs onto freshly cleaned plates.
The silence was golden. There was no more touching on his body and it seemed like Tucker had drifted away from his side to go sit down at the dinner table. Until Tucker had dared to ignore his request and poke his side, not one, or twice, but thrice times before he booked it away from Locus. Breakfast was long forgotten, as well as Wash’s threat, while the two men were locked in a chase around their two-story home with pleas of forgiveness and hollow threats that were almost loud enough to catch the neighbor’s attention. They should be used to this after all since things like this nearly occurred once in every early morning.

Forget-Me-Not: The Face of Death
Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4
Chapter 5
So here’s chpt 6! Desperately do I try to make sure to make this a slow burn so things don’t seemed forced and rushed. But I think I’m doing ok so far, as the need to not rush things is why I started to rewrite this. So yeah! Also please make sure to like and reblog this story so it can get around ;w;
-
The performance, to say the least, was the most eccentric thing the group had ever seen except for Kai, who had joined in with the screaming crowd since she's seen flexible twinky men, but never a flexible build man who could move and bend the way the owner did. And in heels, no less. With the dance over and the men leaving the stage, a server came around to the five and offered drinks on a tray. Wash blinked at the sight, then looked at the server with a raised brow.
"Wouldn't we have to pay for these?"
The server shook their head. "No. It's on the house from the owner himself."
"Don't mind me!" Kai gladly took one and had a taste, letting out a satisfied hum. Tucker took one when she did, then followed in suit. The server told them the owner also had a reserved private booth ready for them and that he would join them shortly. Eyebrows were being raised at that, but they went to the booth the server pointed out to them.
As the others sat down, Kai took off to the bar to get seconds, or something more robust. While she was gone, Wash set down the untouched glass on the table and clasped his hands together.
"Ok. I'm not the only one thinking how weird it is that the owner got us a table, right? Like how did we even get here?"
"I mean. He was probably alerted when the bouncer saw us," Tucker pointed out. Wash nodded. That much was true upon being recognized as the Reds and Blues; they were let in whether they were on the list or not.
"Well, whoever this owner is, he sure knows how to treat people!" Kai plopped down with her new drink in hand before taking a sip of it. She relaxed with a sigh and looked out to the crowd to see if she could spot the man until the crowd parted to let in said man.
Those dark curls were still in a bun with some gold whisps flying free from their confinement. He too, was dressed in a corset vest, a deep blue and black with gold floral patterns on the side over a black shirt. A grin spread across his face as he slowed from the small jog and stood at the table the booth centers around.
"¡Bienvenidos! It's so nice to finally meet the wonderful saviors of Chorus!"
Kai tried her best not to choke on her drink. Nonchalantly, she practically shoved Tucker over thus squishing him between her and Carolina to make room for the man. The owner chuckled, then lifted his hand up to wave it a bit before he sat down. As he got settled in, a server came over with a drink and handed it to him. He thanked the server, then crossed his legs.
"So! To what do I owe the pleasure to have you lot in my club? And am I right to assume I'm speaking to the Reds and Blues?"
It was Tucker that spoke up.
"Yup."
The man nodded, then looked at Kai with his head tilted. "You're Kaikaina Grif, yes? The woman known for her infamous raves within ye old Bloodgulch?"
Was she flattered at being recognized? Yes. She giggled and leaned back into her spot and crossed her own legs.
"Yup! And I bet you can tell who the rest of these bastards are."
"Mhm. Lavernius Tucker, who still has yet to pay off all that child support. Coulda used protection, friend. So that leaves the other woman here being Lady Carolina with the ever-calm Washington. I can call you Wash, right? Unless it's strictly friends only."
Wash perked up at hearing his name, confused for a second before letting out a silent 'oh' and nodding. "Wash is fine."
The man let out a hum to that, then turned his golden gaze to Sam, who tensed up at realizing he was now being stared at by everyone. Kai took a hint at the silence and gently tapped the owner's knee.
"That's Sam. He's my bodyguard. He's uh... What did you say you were again?"
"An ex-marine from the Great War," he sighed out. That perked the other's interest.
"Really? I was also a veteran of the war. What's your last name?"
"Ortez."
There was a silence that followed, save of course for the music that was playing and the chatter of patrons. To someone unfamiliar when it comes to reading body language, his silence could be taken as him trying to remember where he's heard the name. But internally, it was like sirens going off in the back of his head. He found his thoughts interrupted when the red-head spoke.
"Now that you know who we are, it's fair if we know yours. Since, you know, you're the owner of this place."
"Ah! My apologies. It slipped my mind there for a moment. My name is Ermando Romero. I was a part of a recon team way back when."
Sam made a sound in his throat. Even though the last name is common, it still brought up some memories. His own thoughts wandered as the others began chatting and faded into the background. He would've gotten lost had it not been for a particular question that made for Wash to nudge him.
"You good?"
"Mm. I'm fine." Sam then notices everyone is looking at him again.
"What."
"Ermando was asking what brought us here. And Tucker opened his mouth and said you have that answer."
Speaking of, Tucker shrunk in his spot as if trying to hide between Kai and Carolina. He just quietly took a sip of his drink to ignore the burning holes he swears Sam is boring into his head. It didn't help everyone was now looking at him instead of the bigger man. The void was then filled when Wash piped up.
"Oh yeah! We're here looking for a rouge mercenary that popped up on the radar. From what we were told, he was a part of the Chorus War. Goes by the name Anubis."
Ermando raised a brow. "Oh?"
"Mhm. He had these jet packs too. Scared Palomo out on the battlefield since he thought it was a demon of sorts."
"Waaaash," Carolina started.
"Hm? Did I say something?"
Carolina gently cleared her throat and let her eyebrows rise and fall. It took a moment for Wash to get what she was implying, but once it hit, he muttered an apology and lowered his head a bit. He swore he was getting better at making sure he didn't lapse like that, but it happened. Carolina gently placed a hand on his forearm to reassure him that it was out of his control and it was nothing to feel guilty over.
Ermando silently questioned on what just happened, but he then remembered the news he saw about the injury the ex-Freelancer sustained. With a slight shake of his head, he brought the topic back.
"As for this Anubis character, I can't say I heard of him. And I've heard lots of things from my travels. What did this man look like?"
"He wears the standard black armor as the other mercenaries did, but he had blue accents," Sam clarified. Ermando had to think for a bit. Black and blue armor, could fly due to jetpacks, and the code name is Anubis. None of it seemed to ring any bells for him.
"Nothing sounds familiar. But I'm curious. Why come here to ask such questions?"
"From what we were told, he has a history of killing his targets in clubs. And we got word his focus turned to Chorus."
"And you think he might've had a target here and caused a ruckus? Tch. I have a strict no-weapons policy. Guards are only equipped with tasers or stun batons to take down those that cause trouble. The entrance has a metal detector encase something is missed. Even the back doors and the door to the roof. The last thing I want is for the back hallways to become a classic shoot-out with bodies at every turn."
Carolina blinked at the last part. "I'm sorry. Explain why you said that?"
"Yeah. I admit I zoned out a bit, but you saying that is kinda putting me off along with the excessive amount of security measures," Wash pointed out. "Did something happen?"
Ermando let out a sigh. "Some time ago after the war and I was discharged, I heard about a club shooting. A bit over 50 bodies if I'm correct. The owner went missing and was found dead. Turns out he was the son of a crime boss."
Sam stared before clearing his throat a little. He was the cause of said deaths at that club and the end to the Lazano line. Guess it would make sense to have high security to avoid things repeating themselves. A fair price not to be listed as a killing hot spot.
"But, if you were to ask. I have heard a different club some blocks down got hit. Maybe your mercenary is there?"
"What's the name?"
"It's called Epileptic. As far as I know, it's been hit 4 times in the span of a week and a half."
Sam took in this information. That lines up with what he was told, but there was something that was nagging at him that didn't sit right. He would have to check the information he was given once they were out of here to confirm or ease his suspicions. Ermando then gestured outside the booth, suggesting that for now, they all head out to enjoy the rest of the club with all it has to give since Kai was starting to look restless.
Tucker was all for getting out to the floor to leave the pit of embarrassment from being called out for the child support papers and wanting to get away from Sam after the stare-down. Plus he has yet to see Wash drunk as Carolina mentioned and he was determined to see it with his own eyes. Sam was the last to leave the booth. He glanced over his shoulder to the owner who's hasn't made a move, but he was looking right back at him. The bounty hunter found his cheeks heating up a tad at the way golden eyes scanned his form up and down. He knew what that look was and needed to move away fast. Not right now, not yet...
-
3 out of 5 were drunk. Tucker got the video he wanted of a drunk Wash dancing while he himself was smashed so the video was a bit wobbly, but it was a well-earned sacrifice. At some point, Carolina had to step in to prevent Wash from having a third drink since 2 was enough for his still recovering mind. When she got him off the floor, Sam rounded up the other two and the group made their way out of the club. Sam looked over his shoulder to the bright neon sign that read Resurrection, a sigh leaving him as his thoughts went over the conversation they had with Ermando.
It was a bit of a struggle to get both Kai and Tucker back into the car with how much they were moving, while Wash was like a limp noodle that wanted to fall to the ground. As Sam and Carolina got the three buckled up, the bounty hunter brought up how there is a decent motel next to his apartment complex they could stay the night to sober up in. Sam started the car up once he was in, then looked over when the drunk blond grumbled about something poking his butt. It took a moment for Wash to fish out the object from his back pocket, then he stared at the pocket knife warm in his hand.
"Oooooooh right! I had thiss in my pocket... 'Lina look! It was there the whoooole time!"
Indeed she did look. Her eyes widened before looking at Sam who was staring with a hard gaze.
"Didn't Ermando mention he has security at every door?"
"Yes." Sam turned his head to look back at the club as his grip on the steering wheel tightened. "He lied. The entire place is a death trap to lure targets in."
"So. You're saying he could be Anubis?"
"Possib-"
"Yo... Ermando isss Anubisss."
Carolina shook her head with a slight smile. "No. We're saying he might be, not that-"
"But he is though... He totes is... He was wearing black with blue accents. Think! We had a table. Wouldn't he need that table to get those table monies? But he wasn't worried. He has that mercenary blood moneyyy."
Wash went quiet, only nodding to himself that for sure what he said made sense. Yet it felt like it did through his drunken stupor. Kai mumbled how Ermando is hot and a killer, much like Sam is. So it makes sense and she agreed with Wash.
"Remind me after we interrogate someone, is get Wash drunk because that was the most clever analogy. Chaotic and drunk, but on point," Carolina stated.
"I doubt he needs to be drunk to even see the things we don't." Sam let out a sigh and exited the parking lot. Many things were running through his mind that he would have to return and see about getting inside. Thanks to Wash, Ermando is now a prime suspect.

Do you guys ever think about that time when Carolina pointed a gun at Tucker and then Wash's first instinct was to point a gun at her to protect him? And his response? "Don't. Do that."

Wash and Carolina had been separated for years. They may have been a county away, but to them, it seemed like countries. They stayed like this, talking through an outdated messaging app, until a fire brought them back together. Yeah, a fire. (modern!au)

Forget-Me-Not: The Face of Death
Chapters 1 , 2 , 3
Ah finally! This one took me a hot second to complete and get out, but the long awaited chapter 4 is here where Sam gets some interesting help from the ever beloved Heroes of Chorus. Also please do not forget to share and reblog this so others can see it!
-
Sam found himself pacing back and forth at the international spaceship landing at the edge of New Aromonia. Tucker and Kai were supposed to be here an hour ago, and there's no sign of the ship that's supposed to bring them here from the moon of Chorus. He was about to go over to a man with a tablet to ask about an arriving ship, but he stopped at seeing one coming in.
1. This is the ship.
2. He is only disappointing himself.
The bounty hunter was leaning more towards the latter, but when the ship landed and the hatch opened, nothing but loud voices came out, and there walking out in a possible argument, were Tucker and Kai. Tucker noticed the man first and waved over to him with a grin. But Sam didn't expect to see Agents Washington and Carolina follow out.
"Hey! Sam!"
He just put up a hand as a wave before crossing his arms. He started to feel his chest tighten, and he had to steady his breathing at the spike of nervousness he began to feel. Is it because hearing his name is different? Or is it due to the heroes of Chorus seeing the face of a man who tried to kill them for the first time? Probably both.
Wash looked around the spaceship landing and noticed Kai staring with her mouth hanging open. With a slight chuckle, he nudged her in the side.
"You're drooling."
"Well, I'm sorry that Mr. Bounty Hunter man is sexy! I don't wanna be rude, but that X on his face is calling me 'Here! X marks the spot for you to sit~'"
Tucker looked over his shoulder at the Polynesian woman as he walked over to where Sam was. "Sorry! I think he's gay, so tough luck!"
"IT'S ALWAYS THE GAY ONES THAT ARE HOT FUCK!"
That made Tucker laugh before turning his attention to Sam, who had his face in his hands. When the Hispanic looked at the Blue, the silence that stretched was awkward.
"So uh... It's... Kinda weird seeing you without your armor. I mean, like. Not that it's a bad thing, but it's different. And knowing your name too, which is all the more weird," Tucker started, rubbing his hand together since they felt clammy.
"I agree. I'm not usually one to freely give out my name. But for the sake of the mission and Chorus, it's needed to keep who I truly am hidden." Sam glanced over Tucker's shoulder to where Carolina and Wash were and raised a brow.
"I thought you said it would be just you and Kakaina."
"About that. I brought them along because maybe it'll get them used to you. Plus, those two need to wind down. No matter how chill they seem, they're always uptight."
A sigh left him. As much as he didn't want to draw attention to himself for this, maybe the extra bodies will be of aid. Sam then motioned the group to follow him to the car he rented. Wash started to move forward as a silent Carolina and a pouting Kakaina followed him, mumbling about how it's such a disappointment that Sam might be into men instead.
Once within the safety of the car away from prying eyes, Carolina crossed her arms as she fixed her gaze on the back of Sam's head. "So. This is the horrifying mercenary Locus out of his armor. And with his name entrusted to the same people who took him down."
"Need I remind you, Carolina. If it weren't for me, you'd be an empty shell of armor with a skeleton and rotting flesh inside."
"Eugh. No need to put that imagery in my head."
Tucker looked over his shoulder from his spot in the passenger seat. "Plus, he's a bounty hunter, not a mercenary. He doesn't kill anymore."
Sam mumbled a 'thanks' to the clarification before sighing. Honestly, he's a bit scared they'll turn him in simply for being Locus once this is over. Tucker could be playing a facade, and Kai... Well, that one is no trick with how upset she looks.
"Washington. Do you remember back at Crash Site Alpha during the war-"
"When I baited you to shoot at my helmet? Yeah. It ain't hard to forget that."
"Right. But before that, when the ship full of prisoners came down. Among those men, do you remember one that was flying?"
Wash took a moment to think back to the war. His memory is fuzzy on many details due to his injury, but he needed a moment to think back to that part. He remembers bullets hailing down on him and the troops and something blue zooming overhead. But that's the extent of it. A man came down with the prisoners, but he was flying instead...
"I think I do. Was there a blue guy?"
"Don't strain yourself too much on the details, Wash," Carolina reassured, then turned her attention to Sam. "His memory is still not that great. So don't press him unless you want to be pressed back."
All Sam did was shrug a shoulder at her light threat. "But, yes. His name is Anubis. A mercenary Felix brought to help out since that man is one of the most dangerous killers out there. As for why I brought him up, he's the one I was sent after."
Tucker was listening to what was said. He remembers Palomo panicking about a "demon" on the battlefield that was flying. And then remembered what Sam told him about this guy. "So, you said clubs is where he hangs, right? Then we gotta get ready!"
"I was told about the best club here! I can get you guys in," Kai chimed in with a grin on her face. Sam glanced at her from the review mirror as the others turned to look at her. Some looks were shared, but they agreed to this club she mentioned.
"But, first things first. You three need a serious change in outfits. Especially you, Sam, since I feel you need help the most."
That made him sigh. He wasn't going to argue with her logic on his choice of clothing, especially for something like a club where he has zero experience on how to dress. And so with that, Kai started to give directions to a dress and suit shop while Tucker looked up the club mentioned previously to see if there was a theme of sorts going on.
Semi-formal.
-
"Kai. I hate to break it to you, but I'm going to need something that can be tighter."
Kai looked over to Wash with a raised brow before placing a hand on her hip. "The fuck do you mean 'tighter?' That thing is your size."
The ex-freelancer shook his head as his hands carefully worked to loosen the vest-like corset. "No. I mean something a bit smaller. The exact size isn't going to cause the effect you're looking for."
"I agree with him," Tucker said. He stood up to show how he looked in the light blue and white one. "If you wanna put a man in a corset, you need to go for something that really hugs the figure. The idea is to look slim while having a range in motion, but being able to breathe."
That made the Polynesian huff as she crossed her arms. "Who are you to talk about fashion, Tucker? Last I recall, your sense of fashion sucks major balls."
"He does have a point." Sam came out from the dressing room he occupied, all black with hard-to-see patterns loosely hanging off his torso since he had zero ideas on how to tighten a corset. Surprisingly, Carolina, sitting quietly, decided to help out the large man.
"For a man that's been in the army, you should know how to lace up a boot. This is no different."
"Don't patronize me. I haven't had to tie something behind myself for a long time."
"Well, at least you have us here to help you, Mr. Scary Man. Also, Kai, please. Can you look for a smaller one?" Wash looked at Kai with a little puppy dog face. She sighed and nodded since the blond was busy removing the corset he had on. Thank god for dress shirts.
Sam grunted as Carolina tightened the strings to sinch his waist. Tight, uncomfortable, not yet broken into. He has worn figure-fitting suits, but nothing like this where it felt like the first time fitting into new boots. Once the redhead was finished, the Hispanic stretched out his arms a bit since the corset had tightened up and pinned the sleeves to his arms. Once there was some wiggle room, Sam turned to a mirror to see how he looked.
Wash let out a whistle at the sight as he laced up a different vest that was handed to him. "Gotta admit. Ya look good in that, Sam."
Tucker looked over and raised a brow as he leaned back in the chair he was in. "I'm gonna have to agree. It's a good look for you."
"I've worn tight suits, but never a corset."
"All I can say is that you look hot! Actually, both you and Wash do. What kind of training do you guys do that you have hips for days?" Kai crossed her arms with a grin on her face.
"You def look better than Tucker, that's for sure."
"Hey!" Tucker paused, stood up to look at himself, then at the other two, then back to himself. He looked more straightened out than like an hourglass. This realization made him start flinging curses out left and right.
"Well, he did have an alien baby, right?" Carolina questioned as her head tilted to the side, unsure if she remembered being told that.
"He did! Remember when we had to fix the past because of that asshole we all joined up when Tucker gave birth? So yeah. He had one."
"It's baby fat then!"
"Huh. Wonder what happened to all that training I put you through before we joined up with Kimball."
That made Tucker huff as he crossed his arms. "I got killer thighs and calves. Not a full-body workout!"
"Shame. Legs for days, but no abs."
The comment from Sam lead to Kai and Wash laughing, Carolina snickered. Tucker just sat back down with a pout as Sam smiled a little and adjusted the cuffs of his sleeves. Everyone took a breath to calm down and assess if they got what they wanted. Wash went to try on a different color and was satisfied with the black and yellow one he found. The group was then set for the night.
-
Through the windows of the car was the music audible. Loud, heavy, and vibrated in the chest that it was enough to make one take a pause to bask in it.
Sam, Tucker, Kai, Wash, and Carolina all got out of the car and a valet took the keys without being prompted. The owner must have very good money to be paying for valets. Looking at the building, the top of it was similar to an upside-down pyramid, but what would be the tip was wide as a base for support so it would never tip. It was certainly the grandest club in design and lighting for a warehouse-size building.
Tucker motioned to the two Freelancers to follow him towards the bouncer. The brutish man let them in since they are a fraction of the Reds and Blues, then stood in front of the door again. Kai looked to Sam and gestured for him to follow her towards the door. Since she was known for her raves in the gulch, she played the bouncer to convince him that Sam was her bodyguard, which he was easily convinced and let the two in.
The inside of the club was just as grand as the outside. Left of the entrance was the bar, the length of two warthogs to accommodate the many people within. Along both walls were booths and tables, and some half-circle couches had a platform at the center with a dance pole. The club was pretty much what anyone would expect one to look like, along with the thumping music rattling one's eardrums.
The music suddenly died down to a low bass, everyone went quiet, and all eyes went to the stage. Excited whispers started up in seconds, whispers about "the owner" coming up to put in a show. Of course, this caught Kai's attention since she's never heard of club owners putting on performances for their patrons. She knows she's joined in with the people that went to her raves, but this sounded like a whole different level.
The beat changed to the start of a new song; the lights changed to match it as a group of people walked up onto the stage and got into position. The lights came on to show five men, the one in the center dressed differently from the others. How people squealed made it easy to tell that man was the owner. Dark hair with hints of gold tied back in a bun, skin a shade lighter than Sam's. The sleeveless shirt made two thick black tattoo bands with a line with patterns that are visible. There was something about how the lighting reflected in those oddly golden eyes that made the group stare, something unspoken without any sort of indication.
Sam ducked his head low and muttered to Wash how they needed to find a way to talk to the man on stage since he is the owner thanks to the many people screaming as the song progresses and the men start to dance. Kai was like the others: Screaming in absolute excitement at the entertainment. She's lost to them. Tucker then moved closer and whisper/shouted as to why it felt like the owner is looking right at them anytime he looks towards the crowd. Carolina noticed this too and didn't like it one bit since no one makes that much eye contact when performing unless there was a reason behind it. All they could do for now was wait till it's over, then they could hopefully talk to the man.

And to add onto the same episode, do you ever think about how Wash watched Tucker walk away after Church yelled at them for always being a problem?
I do. God, I'm touch starved for these assholes. I miss them
Do you guys ever think about that time when Carolina pointed a gun at Tucker and then Wash's first instinct was to point a gun at her to protect him? And his response? "Don't. Do that."
Cause I think about that a lot
