The park's arches and other formations were created over millions of years by erosion and weathering. Rainwater dissolves carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, creating carbonic acid, which reacts with the rock and breaks it down.
It is hard to believe it had been almost 4 years since my first visit to Bryce Canyon National Park. The red rocks lightly dusted in snow was exactly the shot I was hoping to capture.
