Dangerous Attraction - Osamu Dazai x Reader
In a tense training session with new Port Mafia recruits, y/n finds herself challenged by the enigmatic Osamu Dazai. As she nearly outsmarts him in a sparring match, y/n's sharp skills and daring impress Dazai, leading to a fierce kiss that ignites a dangerous attraction between them. Despite her better judgment, y/n is drawn to their thrilling, unpredictable dance.
Requests are open!
Masterlist
The moon hung low in the night sky, casting an eerie glow over the port city of Yokohama. The cool breeze carried the scent of saltwater, mingling with the faint aroma of cherry blossoms. Inside a dimly lit warehouse, the atmosphere was tense as a group of new Port Mafia recruits gathered, their eyes fixed on a figure standing before them.
y/n stood tall, her presence commanding respect. She was known for her sharp wit and formidable skills, a combination that made her one of the most respected members of the Port Mafia. Tonight, she was tasked with training the new recruits, a responsibility she took seriously. But her thoughts drifted to a certain enigmatic detective who had a knack for making her heart race and her blood boil.
Dazai Osamu, the ever-elusive and unpredictable former executive of the Port Mafia, had a way of getting under her skin. His carefree demeanor and incessant flirtations were both infuriating and strangely captivating. She couldn't deny the small crush that had developed over time, despite her better judgment.
As the recruits sparred in pairs, y/n watched closely, offering pointers and corrections. The sound of clashing steel echoed through the warehouse, blending with the occasional grunt of effort. Suddenly, a shadow moved at the edge of her vision, and she turned to see Dazai leaning casually against a pillar, his trademark bandages partially obscured by the dim light.
"Dazai," she greeted, her tone neutral, though her heart skipped a beat at his unexpected presence. She helped herself back from threatening him, remind herself that they were in the middle of a truce; with everything currently going on the port mafia and the armed detective agency had to work together.
"y/n," he replied with a mischievous smile. "I couldn't resist watching you in action. It's quite the spectacle."
She rolled her eyes, ignoring the flutter in her chest. "If you're here to cause trouble, I suggest you leave. These recruits need serious training, not distractions."
"Who, me? Cause trouble?" Dazai feigned innocence, stepping closer. "I'm simply here to observe."
With a resigned sigh, y/n turned her attention back to the recruits. She couldn't afford to let him derail her focus. But Dazai had other plans.
As the training session continued, Dazai's presence became impossible to ignore. His gaze followed her every move, a constant reminder of his infuriating charm. Determined not to let him get the best of her, y/n decided to take matters into her own hands.
"Alright, recruits, gather around," she called out, her voice commanding. The recruits obeyed, forming a loose circle around her. "Today, we're going to practice disarming techniques. Pair up and pay close attention."
She demonstrated the first technique with one of the recruits, her movements precise and fluid. As she explained the finer points, she couldn't shake the feeling of Dazai's eyes on her. It was as if he were silently challenging her, daring her to make a mistake.
"Now, let's see how you do," she instructed, stepping back to observe the recruits as they practiced. She moved among them, correcting their form and offering guidance.
But Dazai wasn't content to remain a passive observer. He sauntered over to where y/n stood, a playful glint in his eye. "Mind if I join in?"
Her initial instinct was to refuse, but she knew better than to show weakness in front of the recruits. "Fine," she said, her voice steady. "Let's see what you've got."
Dazai's smile widened as he took his place opposite her. They squared off, their gazes locked in a silent battle of wills. The recruits watched with bated breath, eager to see how their instructor fared against the infamous Dazai.
With a quick, fluid motion, y/n lunged forward, her knife aimed at Dazai's throat. He sidestepped her attack with ease, his movements almost lazy. She pressed on, her strikes growing more aggressive, but Dazai evaded each one with infuriating grace.
"Is that the best you can do?" he taunted, his voice a low murmur.
y/n's frustration mounted, but she refused to let it show. She adjusted her strategy, feinting to the left before darting to the right. Her knife grazed his neck, drawing a thin line of blood. For a moment, triumph surged through her veins.
But Dazai's reaction wasn't what she expected. Instead of anger or frustration, he looked... impressed. His eyes gleamed with admiration as he reached up to touch the wound. "Not bad," he murmured, his voice tinged with genuine respect.
The unexpected compliment caught her off guard, and in that moment of distraction, Dazai moved. In a blur of motion, he disarmed her, the knife clattering to the floor. Before she could react, he had her pinned against the wall, his body pressed against hers.
"Looks like you got a little too close," he whispered, his breath warm against her ear.
y/n's heart raced, her pulse pounding in her ears. Despite the danger, she couldn't deny the thrill that coursed through her. She met his gaze, her resolve unwavering. "Maybe I did," she replied, her voice steady. "But at least I got you to bleed."
Dazai's smile widened, a spark of something dark and dangerous in his eyes. "I find that rather attractive," he admitted, his tone a low purr.
Before she could respond, his lips captured hers in a fierce, possessive kiss. It was a clash of wills, a battle for dominance, and y/n found herself yielding to the intensity of his embrace. When they finally broke apart, both were breathless, their gazes locked in a silent challenge.
"You're full of surprises, y/n," Dazai murmured, his voice a velvet caress.
"And you're infuriating," she retorted, though there was no real heat in her words.
As the recruits stared in stunned silence, Dazai stepped back, his smile never faltering. "Until next time," he said, his tone promising more than just a simple farewell.
y/n watched him go, her mind racing with the implications of their encounter. She had come close to outsmarting him, but in the end, it seemed Dazai Osamu was a puzzle she had yet to fully solve. And despite her better judgment, she found herself looking forward to their next dangerous dance.

financial assistance needed
hi. i work 40 hrs per week at a warehouse, as a contractor through a recruitment agency. last week was Memorial Day and was a national holiday (a required day off), meaning i only worked 30 hours, expecting to receive holiday pay.
leading up to the holiday, i attempted multiple times to contact them asking about how holiday pay worked. i also looked on their website and found verbage saying employees working through them get paid holidays. they refused to respond in any way at all and have ignored me for 2 weeks now. (I'm thinking by 'employees' they meant their recruiters, not people like me on the lowest rung.)
and of course it's convenient that I'm missing a quarter of my weekly paycheck, worth nearly $200, which has caused me to go $-40 in the red. so not only was the information obscured, they are actively avoiding telling me that i don't qualify for holiday pay.
i even would have been able to take on more
today is Friday and i won't get another check from them until Wednesday at the earliest. i am in a vulnerable position and do not have family i can ask for help.
if you can donate, my info is below. any amount helps. if you can't, please share if you're able to. thanks
cashapp: $quibbo
paypal: https://paypal.me/qnaaa
#I'm so pissed off and i don't think i can handle another phone call with these people even if it's just a voicemail#this job has me so fucking physically and mentally exhausted and the regular 40-hour checks are barely enough so to get only 30 is terrible#i just paid rent and got overdraft fees from it

Paranormal/Unnatural agencies ranked in how toxic there work environments are
Delta Green (Delta Green) 4/10
There is a reason it is called a 9mm retirement, it is very low on the scale but not the worst. Most Agents in Delta Green commit horrible crimes against humanity themselves to complete there missions, so they aren't worst then the average cop. They usually do not get the choice if they are recruited or if they retire, most either die horribly or wish they did. You are not paid for your time and in fact have to use days of from your own job to perform tasks mandated by your handler. You also have to potentially get yourself in trouble at your job such as abusing work funds and resources to perform your duties, if you refuse they can and will frame your for crimes you did not commit(as opposed to the ones you did do) or just kill you and deliver a triangle shaped flag to your grieving and confused loved ones. You sometimes get to blow shit up or use fun tactic cool gear against shambling horrors from beyond the stars and neonazi canon fodder.
FBC Federal Bureau of Control (Control) 6/10
It is a government job so you do get federal holidays off, benefits and you can accrue time off during the Oldest House Lock Downs. Downside is you will either be chained to a desk in a windowless brutalist nightmare office under a dick head supervisor who is mad that they aren't in the old boys club and so they take there frustrations out on you, or you will be taking endless road trips to no name towns mostly for false alarms or to die horribly. No smart phones so you can't scroll during your lunch breaks in the Oldest House, there is a lot of paperwork (like warehouse amounts of paperwork) and a lot of running around a non euclidean Kafkaesque nightmare. No smoking but you see other agents smoke all the time, but the moment you do it you get caught and it is bullshit.
SCP Foundation (SCP Foundation) 5/10
Unless you are on the O5 council or you are a superstar researcher, no one cares about you and you are mostly like going to die in a containment breach and this is speaking as an actual employee of the Foundation not a D-Class. Everything is covered in black marker so good luck trying to get access to [REDACTED] files, you will either go crazy as a researcher or you will get turned into hamburger as a MTF your choice. I would say the saving grace for working at the Foundation is they are well resourced, I don't think you will have huge problems with money or company facilities. If you ever see something beyond comprehension you can simply submit to use amnestics to cope, it is probably for the best.
Ordo Veritatis (Esoterrorist) 8/10
Honestly you won't find a better secret society of paranormal investigators, since you are going to be dealing with horrors from the void you are going to need proper mental health coverage so the OV will cover the cost of professionals in there group that specialize in treating person's affected by occult horrors. Field agents, monitor station analyst and researchers are rotated for mental health reasons and to not weaken the membrane between conventional reality and a supernatural void in which spawns monstrosities. You do need to schedule time off work to perform duties assigned to you but what can you do, you need to uphold the masquerade of reality. A big downside is that you are dealing with creatures that wear human skin masks and cultists that are trying to invite them into reality via rituals, so death is ever present.
Q Division or The Laundry (Laundry Files) 1/10
Ah fuck where to begin, you do not have the choice to be recruited the government slaps paperwork on you and then binds you with a magical ward that swears loyalty to the agency (as is standard practice in most occult intelligence agencies in this universe). It is a government job, but it is more like a desk clerk then anything else so benefits are are shit, vacation or pto is non existent. Your supervisor is involving you in petty office politics and that actively gets in the way of your job (which is stopping eldritch abominations from using peoples brains as server towers). Your boss is either an eldritch abomination themselves or where once a person like you who had transformed from there most recent promotion into a gelatinous mass. Even if you die, because in your living life you held secrets related to your work a sorcerer from a rival agency can resurrect your ghost to interrogate you, so to prevent that the agency you work for binds your body into a zombie to work forever as a file clerk of somekind.

Introducing another OC to the team today!
Detective Akela Carpenter has worked her fair share of supernatural crime. Being gifted with what her Hawaiian grandmother called “One eye in the land of the spirits” (quite literally; she wore a brown contact for years after she moved to LA, trying to pretend she was normal and hide the single shifting sea-green iris) made her an instant recruit to the city’s fae enforcement task force. She'd hated the Codes and what they did to the city's already vulnerable fae, but she’d found a place she felt like she was actually helping them, working drug busts on Damiana smugglers and dealers.
Getting abruptly reassigned after the biggest bust of her career has been a slap in the face. She’s been fighting her way through the ranks for a decade and a half. And now, instead of receiving a commendation for her success, she’s been transferred.
It’s hard not to be bitter about it. To wonder if she’s being shunted off so she can’t point the finger at whoever on her team was skimming evidence. If she had to guess, it’s Archer. His mother is a senator’s sister in law. He has protection. And powerful friends who can make a problem like her go away.
Her new assignment is disconcertingly vague. She’s being assigned liaison to a hunter agency strike team code named “Polaris”. She knows nothing about it other than that.
She’d sort of like to strangle someone in the personnel office. Just because she’s worked fae crime for years does not mean she’s qualified to deal with vampires. People somehow seem to assume the two are similar just because they’re supernatural beings.
She pulls her clunky ancient Crown Vic out of the detectives’ parking line. She can’t quite bring herself to give up the car that belonged to her mentor. Carlos has been gone for eight years, but she still feels like it’s her responsibility to take care of that old beater. After all, he left it to her. Specifically. In his will. She feels like that has to mean something.
Her radio crackles, a re-direct from her original destination, the Chimera agency itself. Apparently ‘her’ strike team was scrambled to deal with a blood harvesting ring, and she’s being asked to help coordinate the arrest since that’s a crime that falls in the grey area between human and vampire justice systems.
When she pulls into the warehouse lot, it looks like pretty much every other arrest she’s ever worked. Minus all the flashing lights and black-and-white cars.
There’s a matte-black van, an older model with a battered left side panel, parked next to a silver classic. She can’t ID it on sight, vehicles have never really been her thing, but it’s definitely a few decades older than the usual commuter car.
A string of cuffed people are standing in a line against the van, being watched by a petite woman with long dark hair that appears to have escaped a ponytail at some point in the scuffle. She turns around when Akela pulls into the lot, the gun in her hand coming up from against her leg to train on the car.
Akela steps out of the car, slams the door hard enough the temperamental latch will actually catch, and holds out her badge. “Detective Akela Carpenter, LAPD.”
The woman holsters her gun and takes Akela’s hand with the slightly less bloody of her own, wincing. It looks like she fell onto shattered glass and caught herself on her hands. “Sierra Aguirre-Stoker.”
She gestures to the others. “Pete Jemison.” A blond man with wire-rimmed glasses and a bruised cheek waves shyly before turning a notebook so the woman next to him, her brown skin mottled with pale scars, her dark hair tangled, can see it. “He and Saanvi Desai are our accountants.”
“Hi, I’m Vi,” The woman says. She waves, then turns back to the paper, pointing to something and talking animatedly to Pete.
A woman steps away from the van and walks toward them, sheathing what appears to be a collapsible bo staff at her back. “This is Wren.” The name is a dead giveaway she’s fae. So are the thorn vines curling over the staff. Her silver-blond braid is also studded with fragments of glass and plaster. There’s a deep gash on her cheek and she’s limping slightly on her left side, as if she’s turned an ankle.
Maybe this is why Akela is here. Someone wants her dealing with a team with a fae on it.
“Sierra?” Someone steps out of the building, then leans against the silver car with an air of familiarity. He’s big, skin pale, almost too pale, and his eyes don’t look human.
“And that’s Shay.”
He’s not fae. But Sierra is being as cagey with his name as she was with Wren’s.
All of them are wearing leather jackets, with varying patches and logos, but they all have the Chimera’s three-headed emblem on the left chest, and a patch with a white four-pointed star, like a compass rose center, with the words “Polaris” below it, on the right shoulder. Well. Almost all.
Shay only has the “Polaris” patch. Not the Chimera.
Maybe he’s some other liaison. LAPD can’t be the only one who wants a finger in the pie of a new hunter strike team. But he doesn’t give her the sense of being FBI or DEA or any other law enforcement. Especially not with how often he’s glancing over at her with vague apprehension.
He does look familiar. But like…wanted poster on the wall familiar.
A second van pulls up, and a short woman steps out, flanked by two burly-looking men, all of them also wearing leather jackets with the Chimera logo.
“Stoker. Barrett.” Sierra and Shay both snap around to look at her. “Want to tell me why you disobeyed a direct order not to engage?”
Barrett?
Shay. Shane Barrett.
Ho-ly shit.
No wonder LAPD wants someone watching out for this team.
Akela slips her badge back into her pocket. She can see what the play is here. If this team succeeds, LAPD can claim they have partial responsibility, putting a rising star like Akela on the job. If it fails, they’re perfectly fine with sending her career down in flames.
So she’s going to make damn well sure that this succeeds.
You can read this story and more from this universe on my WorldAnvil here!

Mortal Kombat (My spellchecker is gonna kommit suicide by the end of this), Part 1
youtube
(Thanks to Rotten Tomatoes)
[All images are owned by Midway Games NetherRealm Studios and New Line Cinema Warner Bros Discovery. Please don’t sue me or deliver a fatality]
(QUICK NOTE: If the header of this review isn’t enough of a klue, I will be writing this in the style of the game (sorta), which means words that begin with a certain phonetic sound with be spelled...differently. And if you find it hard to read, imagine how hard it was to write!)
In 1992 in arcades across America (and likely other kountries, but I’ve never been to any of them so kan’t konfirm) a game appeared that changed the arcade game dynamic for years to kome. That game, of kourse, was Mortal Kombat.
The plot of the game (such as it was) involved a deadly pit fighting tournament known as Mortal Kombat (naturally) where the heroes of Earth face off against the kombatants of a realm known as Outworld, led by the sorcerer Shang Tsung, the right hand of Outworld’s emperor Shao Kahn (and also presided over the tournament and was the Final Boss, so there wasn’t any konflict of interest or anything)
It wasn’t the graphics, though they were as realistic as 1992 kould make them. It wasn’t the gameplay; it was a fairly standard fighting game in that respect. No, what set the game apart (and sent parents groups nationwide into a frenzy) was how graphic it was.
youtube
(Thanks to Kraig...err, Craig Steelyard)
However, the game was popular enough that New Line Cinema made a movie about it three years later that featured all of the karacters from the first game (plus a few from the second in kameos). Now, a movie based on video games was a very new koncept (there were only 2 released before Mortal Kombat) and it wasn’t until 2019 that kritics thought a video game movie was "fresh” (over 60% positive reviews), but just because the kritics panned it (only 45% liked it) doesn’t mean it wasn’t fun.
So let’s see how they turned one of the most graphically violent video game franchises of the 90s into a PG-13 film. If you would like to watch the film, it’s available with a Max subscription or you can find it behind your favorite paywall.
We open at a temple in China where a monk named Chan Kang is konfronted by…
…Shang Tsung, who makes short work of him and konsumes his soul (yeah, that’s kinda Shang’s Thing) as he screams for his brother…
…Liu Kang, who wakes up in a kold sweat. He receives word that Chan is dead and to return to China (he’s kurrently somewhere in the US)
Meanwhile in Hong Kong…
Lt. Sonya Blade (leader of an unspecified US agency strike team) is preparing an assault on…
…an underground koncert? Anyway, she and her team bash their way through the krowd looking for…
…the krime lord known as Kano, who is in kahoots with Shang Tsung. Shang Tsung has manipulated events such that Sonya will follow Kano onto the boat bound for the Mortal Kombat tournament, with a warning that Sonya must reach the tournament unharmed.
Elsewhere in a nondescript warehouse in Los Angeles…
youtube
(Thanks to Fandango)
No sooner does Johnny Cage (how kome his last name starts with a “C”?) leave then “Master Boyd” changes form into…
So Shang Tsung is backhandedly recruiting the kombatants who will oppose him? Why would he do that?
Later at the temple, Lui has kome home to discover that Chan was to participate in Mortal Kombat when Liu left the temple. Suddenly, he decides he will enter Mortal Kombat to avenge Chan. Then the temple gets a visit from…
…Lord Raiden, God of Thunder and Lightning (played by Kristopher…err, Christopher Lambert, who speaks with a French accent despite playing a Chinese god)
[FUN FACT: Lambert is very nearly blind. In fact, he was doing all of his swordplay in the Highlander films when he kould barely see!]
Raiden questions Lui’s kommitment (revenge vs. saving the world), but Lui storms off to katch the boat to the tournament. Raiden doesn’t like this…
[NOTE: in the games Raiden is a playable karacter, but in the movie he’s little more than a koach]
That evening at a seedy pier in Hong Kong, Johnny and Liu arrive but start on the wrong foot (Johnny tries paying Lui to bring his luggage on the boat, so Lui throws Johnny’s luggage into the bay)
Meanwhile Sonya is staking out the pier with her partner Jackson “Jax” Briggs (one of the karacters from the second game) in search of Kano when...
…an ominous-looking junk (I’m not kasting shade on the quality of the kraft. That’s what those types of boats are kalled) enters the bay. Sonya spots Kano boarding and immediately rushes aboard without backup. She immediately runs into Johnny (literally)…
…and they get along swimmingly. I’m starting to think Johnny isn’t exactly a people person.
Sonya goes below deck, where she runs into Shang Tsung. Johnny and Liu kome down for support (for some reason)
Pretty much.
Then we get the appearance of the last two playable karacters from the game…
Sub-Zero
and Scorpion
(Fun Fact for those who have not played the game: later versions of the game had an increasing number of ninja dressed like Sub-Zero and Scorpion. The reason is obvious: a quick kolor change and a kouple of unique special moves and it’s a whole new karacter! They saved a ton on graphics and koding kosts!)
Shang Tsung brags that he has full kontrol over the two, despite their being mortal enemies. Sonya draws her weapon on them, but Sub-Zero…
…yeah (that’s kinda his thing in the game)
Meanwhile, Scorpion…
OK, in the game, Scorpion shoots a barbed line at his opponent from…somewhere (“GET OVER HERE!”) This take on the line is both kooler and WAY kreepier!
Then a ball of lightning appears in the hold and morphs into…
Raiden reminds Shang Tsung that the tournament hasn’t started yet and tells him to bring his attack dogs to heel.
Of course, this is the first time Sonya has heard she’s in a tournament and isn’t too happy about it. Raiden then explains to the three what’s at stake.
After Raiden has info-dumped the importance of Mortal Kombat (and why, out of the dozens of others on the junk, they are the Chosen Ones)…
…we are treated to bad special effects, announcing the arrival to the tournament.
What dangers await the Heroes of EarthRealm? Check out Part 2 and find out!

LUCY & THE CRIMINALS
Lucy’s Encounters with the Criminal Underworld ~ Part 3
Lucycoms introduced crime stories to keep plotlines exciting and contemporary. Here’s a look at the thieves, burglars, robbers, murderers, prowlers, second-story men, mobsters, forgers, counterfeitters, and con artists in the Lucyverse!
“Lucy’s Impossible Mission” (1968) ~ In this parody of “Mission: Impossible” (a Desilu / Paramount production), Lucy Carter fights international espionage in the persons of Mulhill Omar (Tim Herbert) and Ambassador Korlik of the Slobtoni Embassy (Joseph Ruskin).
“Guess Who Owes Lucy $23.50?” (1968) ~ It’s Van Johnson! Or is it? Lucy loans the film star money to fix his car – but the man turns out to be a con-man posing as Johnson.
“Lucy and the Ex-Con” (1969) ~ The Unique Employment Agency sends Rocky (Wally Cox), a reformed safe cracker, on an assignment as a janitor. When the place is robbed, Rocky is the number one suspect. Disguised as old ladies, Lucy and Rocky go undercover to catch the real crook...
...Doc Morgan (Bruce Gordon). Morgan is nicknamed Doc because he uses a stethoscope when safe cracking. Bruce Gordon had played mobster Frank Nitti on Desilu’s “The Untouchables” (1959-63).
“Lucy and the Great Airport Chase” (1969) ~ Filmed on location at Los Angeles International Airport, Lucy and Harry elude dangerous spies Enemy Agent Yang (Larry Duran) and Enemy Agent Kurt (Sid Haig).
“A Date for Lucy” (1969) ~ Caesar Romero plays jewel thief Tony Rivera, Lucy’s date for a soiree at which he plans to steal the gems of a wealthy dowager. After Rivera is knocked out cold, Lady Warren (Barbara Morrison) discovers she’s been robbed. When Lucy tells her who it was, she can’t believe it.
“He’s so charming! He’s so handsome! He looks just like Cesar Romero!”
“Lucy Gets Her Man” (1969) ~ Harry’s old Army buddy is working in Counter-Intelligence and needs a stenographer to help get the goods on suspected spy Arthur Vermillion (Victor Buono). Naturally, Lucy gets the assignment. Isabel (Mary Wickes) calls Harry Jack the Ripper, comparing him to the famous London serial killer.
Lucille Ball and Victor Buono were both featured in “Like Hep!”, a Dinah Shore special that aired a few months after this episode. In it, Ball did a variety of sketches, including one set in a speakeasy with Buono as a mob boss. On television, Buono is probably best remembered for playing King Tut, one of the arch villains on “Batman” (1966-68).
“Lucy’s Burglar Alarm” (1969) ~ When Lucy and the kids are robbed and Harry refuses to fund a $500 burglar alarm, Craig comes up with an elaborate home alarm system. Guy Marks plays the well-dressed crook.
“Lucy and Viv Visit Tijuana” (1970) ~ On a sightseeing trip to Mexico, Harry is convinced by shopkeeper / smuggler Pedro (Don Diamond) to transport a stuffed animal over the border, claiming it is for his 3 year-old niece living in Los Angeles. Stopped at the border, they discover it actually contains contraband.
“Lucy and Wally Cox” (1970) ~ Lucy and Wally are assigned to be security guards at a warehouse, where they encounter armed robbers Lefty Logan (X Brands) and Baby Face Johnson (Gil Perkins).
“Lucy and Ma Parker” (1970) ~ When a woman and two children mysteriously move in next door, Lucy discovers that they're a band of criminals led by Ma Parker (Carole Cook). Her cohorts are little people dressed as archetypal children: Herman Golub (Billy Curtis) is dressed as Buster Brown, and Milton / Mildred (Jerry Maren) is dressed as Shirley Temple.
Lucy is recruited to impersonate Ma Parker and help nab dangerous Chicago mobsters Muggsy (Boyd ‘Red’ Morgan) and Joe Grapefruit (Marc Lawrence).
The title character is a parody of Kate 'Ma' Barker (inset), the mother of several criminals who ran the Barker gang in the 1930s. She traveled with her sons during their criminal careers.
“Lucy and Harry’s Italian Bombshell” (1971) ~ When Lucy and Kim sleep at the office, they encounter a burglar (Herbie Faye). Instead of robbing them, the he actually gives Kim and Lucy five dollars!
“Lucy and Mannix are Held Hostage” (1971) ~ Mannix (Mike Connors) and Lucy are taken hostage by Vernon (John Doucette) and Ruby (Marc Lawrence).
“Lucy and the Candid Camera” (1971) ~ Allen Funt, host of TV’s “Candid Camera”, plays himself and his con-man doppelganger.
As the con-man, he convinces the Carters to rob a fur salon, then a bank - all under the impression they are pranks for the TV show.

Local recruiting agencies have an edge when it comes to understanding the specific needs of businesses in your region. They are familiar with local job markets, labor laws, and industry trends. For Amazon DSPs, this means faster recruitment, better-quality hires, and less hassle managing your workforce.
1. Understanding the Local Talent Pool
A recruiting agency near me knows the local job market better than anyone else. They are in tune with local talent availability, salary expectations, and candidate preferences. For an Amazon DSP, this means that the recruiting process is more focused, targeted, and efficient, resulting in better hires for your delivery operations.
2. Quicker Recruitment Process
Speed is crucial in logistics, and long vacancies can disrupt your Amazon DSP operations. A local recruiting agency ensures that the recruitment process is swift, as they already have a network of pre-vetted candidates. This reduces the time spent on advertising, screening, and interviewing candidates, ensuring that your operations don’t suffer from staffing shortages.
The Role of Recruiting Solutions in Amazon DSP Success
Hiring for an Amazon DSP goes beyond finding drivers; it includes dispatchers, warehouse staff, and administrative personnel. Recruiting solutions offered by experienced agencies streamline the entire hiring process, ensuring you have the right people for each role.

A recruiting agency can offer flexible recruitment solutions, providing temporary workers to meet increased demand or helping you quickly scale down during slower periods. This flexibility ensures you always have the right number of employees to meet delivery targets without overspending on labor costs.
Why Use Recruitment Services for Your Amazon DSP?
While some Amazon DSPs manage recruitment internally, outsourcing this function to a professional recruiting agency can bring substantial benefits. Recruitment services allow you to focus on growing your business while experts handle the staffing process.

3. Compliance and Legal Expertise
A recruiting agency in the USA is well-versed in state and federal labor laws, including compliance requirements for employee benefits, wages, and working hours. This expertise ensures your Amazon DSP stays compliant with all relevant laws, reducing the risk of legal disputes or penalties.

Ships might not be the quickest route but they sure can carry a lot more load at once compared to flights. The main players in this transaction are the seller/shipper, consignee/buyer, shipping company, and the freight forwarder. At this point, a local logistics company will be contracted to offer transport services. Where the consignee is responsible for moving the purchased goods from the seller’s warehouse, it’s far-reaching to use a forwarding company with export haulage services. Haulage services include unloading the goods from the truck when they’re delivered at the forwarder’s premises. A shipping lane is more like a sea road or route which vessels use to sail through. The consignee will be responsible for all the pertinent ocean freight charges. The consignee will then have to work on the import customs clearance part. You can make your career in this field if you are interested in travelling world tour & want to gain knowledge of various places and cultures. To prepare yourself to enter the industry with the right knowledge, shipping management courses are essential. They are carefully structured and the course content is chosen to provide the most useful knowledge about the shipping industry. Sound knowledge of corporate laws, rules and regulations along with shipping rules and regulations and customs is an added bonus. They should at least be known on a foundational level. Many companies hire third-party staffing agencies to make hires or use recruitment process outsourcing, which brings in outside recruitment experts to serve as strategic consulting partners. Recruitment is the first step in order to achieve highly qualified employees for the organization. The more successful an organization’s recruitment strategy, the strong the applicants pool, thus, the stronger the resulting hired employees. Shipping of one kind or another is expected to continue growing in the next few years, albeit in the midst of many geo-political and commercial uncertainties. Consolidation of port capacity and shipping lines is a reality and the pace at which technologies are rolled out could change the shipping cannot only be determined by the scale. The capacity of the sector to lever important technological advances is increasingly important too. This cloud implies that a small number of companies decide the rate at which innovations and efficiencies are rolled out in handling sports. As an integral component of international trade, shipping shapes geopolitical relations and trade policies between nations, influencing alliances, treaties, and rules governing maritime trade. The environmental impact of shipping, including carbon emissions, pollution and ecosystem disruption, has spurred efforts to develop sustainable practices and mitigate its environmental footprint. Technology has the potential to transform even the most traditional industries, and it is difficult to predict how the availability and use of technologies such as autonomous ships, increased use of drones, big data and even blockchain applications will turn supply, demand. Shipping acts as a carrier for cultural exchange, facilitating the movement of people, ideas and cultural artifacts across borders, enriching societies and fostering understanding between different communities worldwide.
