A mother's word for word transcription of the imaginary phone call her four-year-old made to Santa Claus in 1911.

Through some outrageous case of serendipity I found a recording of another phone call this same child made 60 years later. Though I have to say his choice of conversational partner is a definite downgrade from the first call.
#I've started using 'our bees are all dead' as my standard filler during lulls in conversation#and no I am not kidding#that is actually 64 year old George Arthur Lincoln in the recording#I'm writing up a bio of him that will hopefully be up within a few days#because this kid grew up to be involved in Forrest Gump levels of 20th century historical events#he was the youngest american general in wwii and was involved in the strategy of d-day and the planned invasion of Japan#he was at yalta and potsdam#he started a social sciences department at West Point#which resulted in his students being called commies because why should soldiers study culture and economics instead of shoot gun at thing#he ended up as the director of the office of emergency preparedness while nixon was president - hence the phone call#this poor man had to sit through so many meetings with Henry Kissinger#his younger brother (Waunce from the letter) was also a general#they were known as 'big abe' and 'little abe'

The patience cultivated from years of being f2p for mobile games has finally paid off. I've finally clicked through enough ads to finish Please Teach Me. Originally I was just in it to see Hyeongseop kiss men, but the series actually turned out better than expected.
We got a gratuitous topless Hyeongseop scene, some cute and sweet moments, and we finally got what Jun & Jun robbed us of, Hyeongseop kissing men! It wasn't a great kiss, but at least it wasn't dead fish or angle fake kiss. Also shout out to Lee Sangmin who has decided he only wants to do bl apparently (Starstruck, Why R U? (KR), Please Teach Me). 😆

ive made myself more wet and pathetic
#new icon because im SUFFERING. im in HELL#its so bad. i had to sign out of discord so now im both lonely and stressed#because i KNOW im still gonna get dstracted. i just did making this URGH#how good are brains at working around things. i once set a 7AM alarm on my phone with snooze cause i was so sure my brain would#be too lazy and keep snoozing instead of actually turning it off. but nay it either kept sleeping through the alarms and snoozing#or actually managed to turn off the alarm half awake that i barely remembered it and then waking up late#i actually have a track record of climbing out of bed and turning my alarm off without remembering. which is impressive bc i have a loftbed#the other thing is setting fake deadlines so make myself panic into doing things ahead of time. but unfortunately that doesnt work either#because if theres one thing my brain will put all its energy into remembering its self assurance. meaning i WILL be able to remember#the real deadline even if i try to trick myself. cant ask someone to give me a fake deadline either#the only things keeping me going rn is that i have deadlines due at least 1 day between each other and excitement being able to talk with#crow after break. but you can see how well thats going <- ignores long term rewards in favor of short term pleasure#BTW CROW IF YOURE READING THIS IM SO SORRY TURNING OFF MY DISCORD WITH BARELY ANY EXPLANATION#im a huge fucking dumbass and i had barely enough impulse control not to block everyone in my dms because i realized that would send a real#really bad msg. youre not distracting me im distracting myself and i promise youre not annoying me i just really like talking to you and#thats why im just barely stopping myself from signing in. Kinda a ramble/rant but like,,, Placebo fans on reddit calling the band pretentious for their "don't use phones at shows" sign get on my nerves. Like,,, above anything else I feel like Placebo have kinda earned the right to be pretentious. Not only are they hugely influential, they're also such an iconic queer band that at this point why tf shouldn't they get to be pretentious sometimes??
Like to an extent I get the whole "Well I paid for this concert so I should be able to record" but like... honestly? The bands I've seen where I haven't recorded have been the concerts I've enjoyed the most. It's nice to capture memories but also it can be just as nice to not record things.
Idk it's 1am so my wording is weird but like,,, let bands be kinda pretentious sometimes. Saying "don't use your phone so we can connect more with you" isn't the end of the world and isn't hurting anyone so what's the point in getting up in arms about it??

hot take of the day: people who hold phones up for the whole time at concerts should be shamed just as much as the people who hold large signs up the whole time.
#maybe I'm calling out some people here oOP#but yeah at the Halestorm/Black Veil Brides concert I went to the other day#there was a person in front of me with a sign#they were SUPER respectful with it#they showed it to me and explained they would only hold it up for short periods in between songs#and that they would try their best to not get it in my way#I was like wHAT THATS COOL? no worries at all have fun!#and that wold have been all done and good#however whenever they weren't holding the sign they were holding their fucking phone#they recorded every BVB song#all the way through#not giving a single sHIT` about whether or not their phone could have been in my way#which it was#like I could not see past it (I'm short and have a hard time at concerts as it is if I'm not barrier)#what I'm trying to say is just be respectful with your phone at concerts#if you are two rows back from the front you do not need to be holding it up high#and just enjoy the artist in front of you you dont have to watch through your phone#TLDR phones are equally as annoying as signs at concerts#just take into consideration those behind you

#the thing that just keeps nagging me is that there's no way i was the only one right#i can't imagine he went his whole life and only got inappropriate with me after he was already a grandpa and everything#and i doubt he stopped after he lost easy access to me and dropped me like i never mattered at all#i keep thinking i should report it so at least its on record for someone else if they report too#or if someone else already reported than maybe me saying my experience could make that person be believed#but the thing is#(also remember this man is now dead anyway)#he was an officer and detective and then police chief for years before he ever became mayor#and he was so corrupt#and the city is an entagled nightmare of corruption and stuff#like we legitimately got multiple threatening phone calls and answering machine recordings from this man and his minions more than once ove#the years for various city council things and when my parent ran for election again years later and he didn't like that#anyway#the point is that the guy who was elected mayor after him was buddies with him anyway and ran the city the same way but with less#outward narcissism visibly#and the guy that got elected mayor after HIM a few years ago...you'll never believe this...#was also a police officer and then police chief for years and then got elected mayor...and THE FORMER MAYOR'S SON (the one who hurt me)#so while I would like to report it#i am. very nervous about how safe the police department is and how entwined it still is with the mayor's office#bc back in the day MY mayor had like. complete interconnections with the police still the whole way through. wayyyyy sketch#i don't know this new mayor#i know what his father did and i know what his father and his father's ideal people he surrounded himself with were like#and the city hasn't addressed or fixed any of its past corruption and stuff except in small department-upwards movements here and there#so i'm like. i don't live there anymore and i'd need to make a phone call to do any reporting#i have to go through them instead of the county police that i'd feel much safer with (relatively#they're still police obvs)#i'm like...i really want this on record. for the sake of the community and anyone else like me in case they're out there too.#and as an acknowledgment of my own belief in myself and a way to make it so even if i get scared i can never hide the secret again and#but like................is it safe for me to even tell that police department
