EasyGameStation has announced Recettear: An Item Shop’s Tale HD Edition, a remastered version of the December 31, 2007-released item shop simulation game / action RPG. It will launch in 2025 in Japan.

About

Recettear is the story of an item shop, the girl who lives in it, and the fairy who turned her life upside down. Recette Lemongrass finds herself in charge of an item shop built into her house, in order to pay back a loan her father took and then skipped out on—and Tear, her newfound fairy “companion,” won’t take no for an answer! As Recette, you have to decide how you’ll get your stock—either through playing the markets in town or going out into the wild with an adventuring friend and thrashing beasts until they give up the goodies—how much to sell things for, what the shop should look like, and how to best go about getting the money Tear needs to pay off the loan. If you can’t come up with the money… well, hope you like living in a cardboard box.

(Aqua) "Huh? Why is your tone like that?"

(Kazuma) "Gee, I don't know, maybe because you're RIGHT outside Nook's Cranny? Ugh, whatever. Let's just go inside so I can tell you no."

- Aqua pouted as Kazuma rolled his eyes and entered the shop.

- As soon as the two entered they both were shocked.

(Tear) "Afternoon, Kazuma, Aqua."

(Recette) "Hey guys! You came at a perfect time! Right now until November 30th, Nook's Cranny is having a Black Friday sale-"

(Kazuma) "Woah woah WOAH, slow it down there! Why are you in here, Recette?!"

(Recette) "...Because I work here?"

(Aqua) "I think he means why are you working here, dear."

(Tear) "Simple. Tom Nook struck a deal with us. In exchange for us working for Nook and Co., he would promote Recettear in Earth."

(Recette) "Plus, Tommy and Timmy need a break! I'm happy to be back in my element!"

(Kazuma) "I don't think you ever left that element though. You were a shopkeeper even back in Garreg Mach-"

(Tear) "Regardless, is there anything you'd like to purchase today?"

(Aqua) "OOH OOH! How much for that drink back there!"

(Recette) "That Strawberry Soda will be 840 bells please!"

(Aqua) "Aww, can't you cut it any lower?"

(Recette) "If this was Recettear, I would cut you a good deal, but since we are Nook and Co, I'm afraid I can't."

(Tear) "You have been on the island longer than us and the rest of House Isekai. Could you perhaps just earn the bells by fishing, catching insects or...?"

(Kazuma) "Yeah, you could get off your fatass for once and work."

(Aqua) "Up yours!"

A costume from each year I've been cosplaying, 2007-2017. I probably averaged 2-3 costumes a year at least. It's been fun!

I started with hand-sewing stuff onto T-shirts with the collar cut out and using sticky-back ribbon as trim. No wigs. I didn't finish seams in the first two years or line anything in the first three. Between 2009-2011 I really favored cotton sateen for just about anything. 2014 was the year I went on semi-hiatus from cosplay and conventions, so there weren't any decent costumes made during that time. I returned in full force in 2015 after a trip to Japan and here we are now, year 2017, 10 years since I started this intense hobby in my freshman year of college.

I've always said that I'll scale back massively from cosplay once I hit 30, so next year, 2018, will likely be the final year I do some sort of age-inappropriate cosplay. If Sword Art Online season 3 promotion is in full force then, I'll cosplay SAO for one last time and go out on a high note.

Honestly, that was the reason I hid it behind a link instead of a video post. If you don’t know what’s happening due to thumbnail spoilers, the shop theme hits you like a truck, and then you see her.

Recette! I’ve been playing this game for weeks now and it’s the best. I just keep replaying it. Decided to draw Recette and Tear! I think I drew Tear a bit too worried looking. She does act that way sometimes though in the game.
