it’s been a loooooooong time since i watched zexal (sub) so i’m not even sure if i’m right. but i don’t think he lied. sure he definitely tried to get the upper hand in some scenarios like the door’s guardian, but i don’t think he ever lied?

i think he needs to understand his actions have consequences.

he basically held the entire astral world hostage for some time now, especially with the worsening lack of chaos problem killing everyone off. he also basically hurt astral over and over and over, yet astral does not seem to notice or acknowledge eliphas’ wrongdoings (maybe a program quirk eliphas made so astral won’t turn on him? astral is the astral world’s strongest duelist, he would not want this bioweapon child he created turning on him).

whatever it is, i think eliphas should at least be removed from his position as leader and go and look at the damage he’s done to the world he swore to protect. eliphas didn’t have bad intentions, but he fucked up. everyone does. so him getting away scot-free just left a really bad taste in my mouth. his one sacrifice for astral does not erase all the shit he put him through, as well as the rest of the world. the sacrifice itself felt very rushed too..

make him repair the world with the same hands that destroyed it.

What do you all think would be the most appropriate punishment for Eliphas?

oh! so what i meant by astronauts was the song astronauts by powapowa-p! cuz space theme and all ^^ i think the song itself also kinda has a little guilt element to it, which fits astral’s whole “i’m going against my dad” thing!

as for restricted sekai, i’m gonna delve into the story telling aspect a bit since i do play the story. each sekai represents how the owner of the sekai feels. so the niigo empty sekai feels even more void and empty when mafuyu is especially going through it, or the mmj stage sekai becomes blue at the request of minori to help haruka stand up against her fears of being an idol again.

restricted sounds similar to empty. but empty is distinct because it is literally empty; mafuyu puts up no barriers. the world is simply a flat plane with strewn objects and kanade even remakrs how it feels like she’s walking in circles because there’s no landmarks to guide her

so for astral’s restricted sekai, astral is the owner. he’s been controlled his whole life and his sekai reflects that. maybe there’s a lot of blocked off exits. fences and roadblocks and taped off doors that navigating the world beyond the tiny bit of room astral does provide is near impossible. it is possible to change the sekai and expand it, like how mafuyu slowly warms up and so more vs show up (this is after the main story, i think through the whole main story it’s just miku) and the world becomes more warm. so as astral becomes more open to exploration, the fences fall down and the tape’s torn off

as for utopia, i definitely see them having wings to reference him (WONDER WINGS as their untitled song)

Hi, hello, hey. Uh, I'm just gonna drop an idea for a stupid AU in here before disappearing into the void.

Project Sekai AU! Yuma is a first year in high school and has always been passionate about music but has never been able to do it properly because in his words "Music is always more fun with friends!"

In his new school, he begins to hear a lot about a certain second year who composes music but has rumors spread about him because of his father being the stern music director and Yuma's just like "another music lover, maybe we could sing together!" And off he goes to befriend him!

With little luck. Until one day, he finds him on roof eating his lunch alone and introduces himself suddenly only to get a startled face and a smack from the composer.

I've also thought of the Sekai, main song for them and the Vocaloids that are in the sekai from the start!

It's the space sekai, made from Astral's feelings of isolation and ostracization, the main song is 88☆彡 and the Vocaloids that are in the sekai already are Miku, Luka and Kaito!

I'll probably think of more for the AU later on but please, enjoy this little bit!

I don't think enough people realize that yuma could only make it through zexal because of his friends that care for him as much as he cares for them. Like when yuma tried to run away from the WDC or when yuma was unconsciously looking for astral, people stop him and make him talk about what's wrong. They tell him what his actions are so yuma can see them objectively. We see from zexal 1 that kattobing IS a coping mechanism but it eventually grows much more than that. Because kattobing is ultimately from yuma's heart of loving his friends and it's those same friends that help him get better...

yes! i definitely agree yuma does have some level of abandonment. i think him constantly trying to seek out people through dueling, considering them friends after one duel even if they were enemies, and constant “you’re my friend and i need to save you” screams abandonment. why else do you constantly have to reassure someone you’re there for them, that you believe that they’re worth something and deserve friends, if you never really got that reassurance in the first place?

yuma has his sister and grandmother, but even at age 8 he felt that burdening them was wrong and that he should handle it by himself. he misses his parents deeply but never pushes it onto other people; astral only found out because he could read his mind.

shingetsu’s constant presence, while obnoxious at first for yuma, was comforting for him because there’s finally someone who is next to him and needs him and doesn’t look down on him (astral is constant too but their banters progress into actual arguments as the show continues). it’s why vector’s inevitable betrayal shattered yuma: he thought he could finally find someone that not only he relied on but relied on him too. and since he was thrown away so easily by vector, it’s like yuma was never needed at all.

astral’s little trick at the end, if not genuinely malicious, still caused yuma distress. he was prepared to have the one constant person in his life, who listened to him and believed in him after everyone else waved him away, rip everything apart over a numbers war yuma never asked to be dragged into. and astral’s “i just wanted to inspire hope in you” is such utter bullshit. warrior therapist in the full! it’s worse when you know astral is aware of yuma’s deep insecurities, yet he still pulled the rug under him.

yuma’s got a boatload of issues, and abandonment is probably the largest one.

So according to what we know from canon, Yuma’s parents were gone a lot. Even before they were missing. And then they did go missing. Then they returned, and what’s the first thing they do? Leave again. Putting aside personal opinion of them, that’s just a fact. They left on an adventure after they were missing from their family, and based on what’s implied, did so pretty immediately.

And then - Yuma’s whole crew

Listen (“due to plot/bad writing reasons” we’ll say, for sake of mediation) Yuma’s general collective of friends and rivals and crew were not … Awesome? Consistently? (at least agree they were no team Yugi? I’ve not ever seen DM to the fullest ever and I still know that they were no team Yugi.)

Anyway Astral, the one person who became an actual and genuine constant in Yuma’s life. The person who was his confidante, mentor, duel partner, friend and family to a codependent degree, for upwards of anywhere of 6 months . . . Left. Fully left the planet. After tricking him into a duel that he quoted himself “broke Yuma’s heart” which was defended with a “No that was to get back your kattobingu it’s all good hurray anyway goodbye!” I-

Yuma for sure has some level of abandonment trauma after all that. Right?

i’m not gonna go into my whole name origin theory for the ar3ficials (don, eliphas, astral) BUT i do think that eliphas named astral after the astral world with the hopes of ranking up. cuz that was astral’s whole purpose yknow!! ranking AW up beyond chaos and the barians!! astral’s like the world’s champion and greatest defender in a way! :D

that and eliphas is probably the type of guy who never nicknames his pokemon

as for misty bisty over there YES HIS WHOLE NAME IS A PUN AND SO IS EVERY OTHER NUMBER IT’S NOT EVEN FUNNY HOW MUCH THOUGHT THEY PUT INTO THEM 😩 on the top of my head 39 (hope/utopia) can also be read as “thank you” (san kyuu) and 83 (galaxy queen) can be read as “mom” (ha as in haha as in mother, and san as in the honorific)

astral definitely tries to prove himself cuz if his whole family is in the horse business and he sucks ass, that’s just embarrassing. so what better way than to tame nyxous nighteous??!! which everyone else calls him. astral just calls him yuma (cuz who’s got time for the long name??!)

astral also definitely uses vector’s hair to his advantage >:) he’d have yuma aim for his head for funsies (clearly as unhinged as his brother)

tori definitely is the other horse girl or potentially even the ranch hand

yuma should be the horse in horse movies and his name is manegenta blutherswood ix, they somehow call him nyxous nighteous from that, he likes carrots, and the new horse girl ™️ comes to tame him after years of people giving up. they then go on to win the whc (world horse carnival) before nyxous nighteous manegenta blutherswood ix finds out his true calling: being a pyukumuku

which makes the episode list to be: 74, 77, and 79

zexal i episode 1 is also full of them in some scenes :0!
