Sighs. The moment I saw how gorgeous she was in person, I knew I was fucked. MGA has a vice grip around my throat. Her glitter was even really nice.
Sunny meets evil Sunny. She's excited to get her bear. (Like an adult, I tossed all the slime shit in the garbage.)
The bear, which murders. Help me up, scoundrel, and get me a less cute outfit!
That's better. Sunny has her bear, and evil Sunny has an outfit I like more on her. I think it suits her face and her attitude. Sunny also decided to fill her bear's head with leftover glitter we had, for some substance.
I'm not gonna lie, the lack of wrist and thigh articulation is actually pretty annoying! I can't swivel her thighs or mess with her wrists at all. It does take away a lot of expression.
I could always rebody her, but I'm avoiding any more online orders of toys, and really it's not a huge need. She can hang out with the bald Jade on the budget body. Although, I MAY give evil Sunny some leftover brown eyes we have. We'll see.

I've had this Fashionista rebodied onto a Barbie Looks body for awhile but I finally redressed her with the leftover Barbie Extras #14 pieces since I found it suits her bright pink lips well.
I ended up painting extra details onto the earrings and necklace to bring out the details and to tie it better with the jacket.
I do hope Mattel is able to do more with the 80s Barbie logo as I think it's one her best logos honestly and I feel like it's getting a resurgence recently.

One of my favourite ever bodies is a piece of junk: made from leftover pellets it’s often marbled or has dark dots, the seams need scraping off and the torso joint often needs gluing down, the hard plastic is very thin and you can see the internal structure if you hold it up to the light. It’s also remarkably resilent, has legs and arms cloned from fashionistas articulated (yes they are fantastic, Barbie why did you stop?), tends to stay tight except for that torso joint, is easy to suede or teflon tape and very easy to mod to be more flexible. You can also slice off the top of the neck knob and put in a barbie anchor for more head movement. It matches Kurhn, pale Disney, pale Bratz and pale Barbie and used to be my go-to for rebodying pale dolls who couldn’t sit and Ever After High customs. It’s also been quite hard to find lately after being supplanted by the various Liv clones, the double jointed knee brightpink-undertone imposters (often bait and switched when this one is the main photo. Boo!), yaoi limbs (more yellow toned), Anlilys with faulty hip joints and others.
aliexpress.com/item/1005001831210672.html, price depends on postage but is around $2.50 slowest postage for me. Don’t choose “M” or you’ll get Twiglegs McTerrifying.

Okay, if the silicone mold putty I found is still good I’ll use that, if not I’ll dig out the paint on latex. Going to make push molds of the New Monkees faces for polymer clay positives. The backs of the heads aren’t as important as those are much easier to make up.
My back is complaining that I did too much bending yesterday.
Got in to a bit of doll sorting, you can stay you can go type. Found my Mod Squad of Mod era Barbie and friends and the Malbu batch. The rules for the Mod Squad are you must be a reroot.
Now it’s deciding if they’re all light colors, unnatural colors, or what. That would leave the odd gal out as the restored to titian head but I have the same face mold in pink. Kind of want each of them to have a different face. And they’ve all beed rebodied.
Going to have lots of heads and some whole dolls to part with including a great condition Malibu PJ with original hair and Steffie face. There’s also a Malibu Barbie from the lot who’s pretty good. I don’t need an umpteeth Steffie.
Made a decision to reroot the Uneeda Wendy too. The hair on her scalp was okay but the ponytail was ratty. Seen a few reroots that look nice. Since it’s just her hairline I have some leftovers that should be enough.
Aside from white for the white Monster cat and wanting to keep the Love Potion and Oyster shell for someone I don’t think I have yet I need to loosen up about the colors.
Wendy is bald now and looks like she could be done in a day so I might get to her first.
At least Shark Week doesn’t have the shit that’s on the news.
I know important things are happening in the world and I’m aware of them but sometimes a person’s anxiety is so overwhelming they have to get away from anything that could trigger it.
Yeah shark shows have feeding frenzies but that’s what sharks are supposed to do.
Damn Ocean, You Scary! is a great release.
Should clean up the mess I made yesterday but my back is definitely on a ‘fuck you’ trip so I have to decide if I’m going to stay alert on get on with my day or take a Pain Away and gamble how it’ll treat me.

Had a small amount of free time where I wasn’t zonked out so I decided to use up what’s left of the silicone décoden cream which I forgot was very slow to set, woops! anyway I’d been doing the meds and had these silicate filled lids in my recycling bin (the pharmacy keeps switching generics so it’s kind of random what colour or shape your meds are gonna be let alone the packaging so this was new) so I got them out and found one had big 3mm clear balls and the other was like packet sugar so I went with a very pale pink to look like soap or icing and got out some bait heads to play around.
Atepadene on the left is a Summer with the sugary looking silicate and Omeprazole is damaged lashes Licca with the bubble looking silicate beads. Unfortunately Summer has a dent/wrinkle where the stuff hadn’t dried fully and Licca looks like she has male battern balding so she looks like the angel character from good omens. I’ll leave them as is in the “just pay postage” stuff for grabs until I get the urge to do décoden hair again and we’ll see if silicate holds up. I do love the matte soap bubble and the sugary effect of both. I think silicate would take paint well if you wanted to use it as a textural element in your sculpting. Note: If you’re looking for relaly shiny, you’ll want AB coating glass nail art findings.
While I had the JPP box out, I attempted open mouth lips again following oak23s advice about teeth first. The results are meh but so much improved from before!
Post yielded 3 more knockoff disney fairy bodies made with leftover vinyl pellets = colour marbling in the limbs so I could move Teal Licca (with a beauty spot over the bubble in her plastic) into my permanent collection and rebody two Star Darlings. I put 2-part plumbing epoxy into the back of the neck holes as they have ball anchor necks but also hard plastic so not easy to maneuver a neck graft into there. It’s not pretty (it’s not visible either though so no-one cares except me) but it allows good movement forwards and sideways without their heads falling backwards from the weight of the hair.
