finished Rebel Galaxy: Outlaw the other day, fantastic game, not really a lot like the game it's a prequel to (also a very good game), but a good game all the same, fun space-combat sim
(spent most of the last half of the game in a mastiff armed with two flack cannons an autocannon and a photon cannon, and so much cargo space)
I think I need to have a bit of a go at it but with auto-follow turned off because that made it super easy
eh not super super easy, you still had to approach big fights with more than a little strategy, but it'd be so much harder without it
Anyhow part of what I loved about it is it's so low-stakes, or rather the stakes are for the most part personal, the story missions they're all about messy dysfunctional people... IN SPACE, it's brotherly disputes and bad relationships, very little huge high stakes spaceplots

If you are unsure how to add your file here, then kindly ask a User from the History of this Wiki to help you out.īasic additions to the game are additional contents of already-existing items in the game (sectors, ships, etc.). Feel free to Edit this Wiki yourself, but please post only files that are finished and hosted on BGG. They pitched the idea but they were denied the right to make a Star Wars Rebel Galaxy game. Set 35 years earlier in the Rebel Galaxy universe, Outlaw stars Juno Markev, the aunt of the original games faceless protagonist. In the Dodge Sector it’s hard to get by and even harder to get even. Strap into a variety of spacecraft, settle a score in a filthy space-bar over a game of 8-ball, rock out to over 24 hours of music, and engage in white-knuckle dogfights. Rebellion: A Rogue Souls Like Rebel Galaxy Outlaw. Rebel Galaxy Outlaw takes place in a greasy, blue-collar world of outlaws, truckers, cops and thieves. There is only one station in the whole of the map that produces artifacts and only at a trickle. That's the biggest contract I've ever personally seen in either RG or RGO.

The devs actually made a demo with tie fighters and the Millenium falcon, back when EA has sole rights to SW. This Rebel Galaxy Outlaw mod adds the Privateer soundtrack to Rebel Galaxy Outlaw. Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness MADNESS: Project Nexus Mad Experiments: Escape. If I can get 17 alien artifacts and deliver them it will pay 687,000. This is a Wiki of unofficial BGG User Modificatons and Expansions for Xia: Legends of a Drift System which are also possible expand the expansions Xia: Embers of a Forsaken Star & Xia: Missions and Powers.Īpproved files will not register here automatically, this will have to be done manually. Also the modding comunity for RG has been plagued with a lack of tools to make more extensive mods.

THIS IS AN UNPARALLELED AGE. A galactic age. An age of bounty hunters, vagrants and bleeding-heart outlaws.
This is the NEW REBEL ERA, and the only thing worth a damn is the sweat off your back, the bullet in your chamber and the fuel in your tank. The galaxy is a lawless expanse, known as the FRONTIER GALAXY, and you are an INTERSTELLAR OUTLAW. Together with YOUR SHIP and YOUR CREW you have to eke out a living in the Frontier Galaxy, and chase down the intergalactic dream of freedom and success.

Hi do you know any space western ttrpgs? Preferably those that let me play aliens.
THEME: Space Westerns
Hello there! The following games can all be classified as Space Westerns, although I don’t think there are any with specific rules that provide different options according to your chosen alien species. However, I don’t think there’s anything that specifically excludes you from being able to play as an alien either.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vultures, by Batts.
Vultures is a game that puts players in the position of bounty hunters in a post-mecha world, hunting down the rogue pilots and soldiers that refuse to turn in their license and submit to the new Space Mom mega hegemony. The universe and its people are shaped by Before, the war where massive war machines, sinister warminds, and the mechs that walked the stars, caused massive, planet-wide destruction and left the universe in a mess of mecha wreckage.
How long before you make a choice?
How long before you rebel?
This game functions on a simple, sturdy background. Roll d20 and try to get over 10. You build your character out of skills, a background, and develop them with relationships, each adding bonuses to your rolls.
Vultures combines an unforgiving authority with a light-hearted tone. Character have only 1 health and are under the constant watchful eye of Space Mother, but stepping in to help out a friend is always rewarded and players have the ability to gain Luck, which downgrades what could be potentially lethal harm. Your job is to hunt down those nasty rebels and deserters who keep getting in the way of total hegemony, which will take you across a galaxy dotted with the bones of the mechs that tore the galaxy apart. A Hegemony implies the governance over many entities, so there’s plausible argument for the inclusion of alien species, even if there’s no acknowledgement of them in the game text.
I cannot over-recommend the use Safety Tools for Vultures, as it can confront a lot of themes around war and authoritarianism, but once your table has achieved a common ground, it can tell a very compelling story.
Outlaw’s Gamble, by Mitchell Daily.
Go on daring adventures, brave the darkest corners of the Wide Open Sky, evade the Sheriffs, and break the Fundamental Laws of the Universe with reality-warping abilities.
In Outlaw's Gamble you play as Outlaws (it's in the name after all) who go far beyond breaking mortal laws and break the very laws of reality itself, seizing upon great power in the process. But wherever there are laws, there are those who enforce it. Using your powers can mean great gains but draws the attention of the Law itself and the Sheriffs that serve it: the River, the Mountain, the Canyon, the Desert, and the Grave.
Outlaw's Gamble is played with a deck of playing cards. Challenges can be resolved quickly with a high-card wins system or the stakes can be raised with wagers and poker hands. The poker-style way of resolving conflict is probably one of the most obvious nods to the space-western genre. If what you like about Westerns is the mythology of dangerous mavericks, beholden to no-one and always operating outside the law, you might want to check out this game.
WildSpace, by TheChaya.
Wildspace is a role-playing game in which players explore the galaxy, investigate ancient secrets, outwit enemies and get rich doing so.
Wildspace is an Old-School Renaissance-adjacent game about post-apocalyptic wild west-themed adventure in the far future. Take on the role of diverse characters in their journey for fame and fortune across the endless space frontier.
Your characters are built up of a number of different pieces: stats, specializations, known languages, and character class. The languages available here tell me that there is definitely alien species involved in this world - it’s just that your species doesn’t define what you can do. This is also a game with a heavy list of inventory, including special powers and tech. So if you like kit-bashing pieces together to make a unique character who’s just trying to make their way in this wild, wild galaxy, this might be the game for you.
Space Bounty Blues, by The Nerdy Paper Games of Rob Hebert.
A GM-less, planet-hopping, neo-noir RPG for 3-6 people inspired by the greatest sci-fi bounty hunter anime of all time.
It’s the turn of the 25th century, and humanity has spread throughout the Inner System, a network of colony clusters connected by Transit Gates that make faster-than-light space travel possible. Of course, anywhere people go, crime goes with ‘em. And when you can blow jurisdictions at the punch of a hyperdrive, The Man just can’t keep pace. That’s where bounty hunters like you and the rest of your crew come in, with a license to run down and arrest the System’s Most Wanted throughout all six colony clusters.
But remember: this ain’t some license to kill; you only get paid if you hand over a bounty that’s still breathing.
Space Bounty Blues has three traits: Hard, Sharp, and Smooth. You get +1 in one, -1 in another, and 0 in the last. Each character also gains an Edge and a Trouble: your Edge gives you +1 to all relevant rolls, while your Trouble is a problem you just can’t shake. Space Bounty Blues is GM-less, using an online generator (and your own brain) to generate plot details that the group will tackle together.
This game carries elements of inventory keeping, and characters collect scars that can take them out of the game, but you won’t find long lists of equipment or a map that you crawl across, conquering traps and minor obstacles. Finally, the spotlight is meant to move from one character to another, and while each player moves through their “solo”, the rest of the group play NPCs. If you’re looking for a game that guarantees your character will stand out, you might want to look at Space Bounty Blues.
Marine Ice Cattle Drive, by Evey Lockhart.
On a frozen planet, underneath a dim, pink sun, lumbering ice-cows dive and graze in beautiful lavender bays. Heavily bundled cowhands keep careful watch, counting the dangerous minutes until their meagre payday.
All the while rich assholes, who never get closer to the work than orbit, just get richer.  The more cowhands that don't make it off the Ice Ball, well, the less the bosses have pay.
Marine Ice Cattle Drive is a 20 page, colorful zine, outlining a new Sphere and Adventure for Troika! the scifantasy ttrpg. Available in both a heavily illustrated .pdf format as well as epub!
Because this is an adventure designed for Troika, I can see this as being the most likely option that allows you to play some sort of alien - Troika is a game about multiverses and various different worlds (called spheres), so it makes perfect sense that your alien buckaroo is getting in on this dangerous, freezing space ranch adventure. While this is an adventure, not a stand-alone setting, you could probably take a lot of pieces from this sphere to make your own story.
Orbital Blues, by Soul Muppet Publishing.
This is the rock and roll future of yesteryear that never was—and nobody wanted.  It is an intergalactic age of cowboys, outlaws and bandits playing on an interstellar stage. It is a time of hyper-capitalism and a cut-throat gig economy. Unreliable trash-heaps carry scrappy underdogs to their next gig, and corporation freighters lumber across the horizon laden with an empire’s bounty.
These are the music-fuelled, moon-age daydreams of a rebel space age. These are your ORBITAL BLUES.
ORBITAL BLUES is a lo-fi space western roleplaying game from SoulMuppet Publishing, written by Sam Sleney & Zachary Cox.  A roleplaying love-letter to off-beat sci-fi, vintage music, and cooperative old-school styled roleplay, Orbital Blues allows you to play out rules-light tabletop adventures in the style of space westerns such as Cowboy Bebop, Firefly and Guardians of the Galaxy
Characters of Orbital Blues are centred about their personalities, their quirks, what they want and what they can do. There’s also a pretty palpable homage to Cowboy Bebop, similar to Space Bounty Blues. With most of these games, the feel of a space western has more to do with the people who make up a crew - and it emphasizes that your crew is a rag-tag bunch of misfits, unable to find a place in the honest economy of a larger galaxy. What Orbital Blues brings to the table is a critically-acclaimed system of Troubles - problems the characters struggle with that help each character define and explore a narrative arc. As a result, there’s also some fascinating third-party content that provides add-ons and adventures for your players. If you’re on the fence about this game, you can check out the Quickstart/Playtest, released by Soul Muppet for folks who want to try before they buy.
Additionally...
If you want more options, I also recommend checking out the submissions to the Space Western Summer Jam on Itch.io, from 2021!

"The Empire's victory in the Battle of Hoth has brought hard times for the Rebel Alliance. Han Solo has been frozen in carbonite by Darth Vader, and two huge bounties have been placed on the head of Luke Skywalker. The Empire wants him alive, but Prince Xizor, underlord of the most powerful criminal organization in the galaxy, wants him dead. Worse still is that the diabolical Xizor is holding Princess Leia Organa prisoner in his castle on the Imperial Center of Coruscant. This is a tactical maneuver, part of a larger master plan to lure Skywalker into his castle where he can be easily eliminated -- the key step in Xizor's plan to replace Darth Vader at the Emperor's side. Unaware of this danger, the young Jedi and Lando Calrissian sneak into Imperial City hoping to rescue Leia. Simply laying foot on Coruscant is a dangerous act for these two: high on the Empire's list of most-wanted outlaws, they could be easily recognized and captured -- or assassinated. Disguising themselves as beggars, they "borrow" the armored uniforms from a pair of elite Coruscant stormtroopers. These troopers are some of the Empire's finest, selected as home guards for the wealthiest and most cultured city in the galaxy. Joining forces with Chewbacca and Dash Rendar, Skywalker and Calrissian attempt to infiltrate Xizor's nearly impenetrable stronghold and rescue the princess."
- Luke Skywalker In Imperial Guard Disguise. From Kenner's Shadows of the Empire toyline (1996).

I am SO INTRIGUED by the Supernova Initiative!!!! Is there any tag-list for this wip?? Or can I just ask about what inspired this idea?
--CakeintheVoid
Thank you, @cakeinthevoid/@cauliflowermaterial! 💕I'm so glad to hear you're intrigued about my WIP!!!!!
Currently, I am in the final stages of outlining this WIP and plan to start working officially on the first chapters around this week and the next! There will be a taglist then and I'll make sure to add you to it if you'd like, let me know in the replies of this post! I'll also be making a WIP Intro for this story in the coming days so keep an eye out for that!
As for what inspired it, it's a bit of a chaotic answer but I'll try my best to explain it: I've always loved science fiction, especially space opera (Star Wars, Star Trek, Guardians of The Galaxy, Voltron, etc, that's my jam!) and space exploration/adventure, so I've always wanted to write my own story like that one day! That's one of the reasons I came up with Supernova Initiative, there's more.
I had also been wanting to write a heist story, in the style of Bad Guys or Six of Crows, with a crew of morally grey but good-hearted outcasts doing wrong things for the right reasons. I also love stories about outlaws forming a found family and rebelling against an oppressive or corrupt system by breaking the rules. That is also super cool! So here we have reason/inspiration number 2!
I'm also a huge fan of futuristic/cyberpunk settings, especially when set in deep space, and dystopic high-tech societies that seem perfect but are actually hiding terrible dark secrets. I also wanted something to give my story a unique twist, so I started brainstorming and came up with a feel of the core themes this book will cover and the MCs will have to deal with/fight against - illegal human experimentation/bioengineering mad scientists, corruption within a powerful interplanetary system, government secrets in a high tech setting, and more!
I've also added cyborgs and humanoid aliens to the main cast just for some more fun!
Again I am so glad you are curious about my WIP - feel free to ask as many questions about it (wherever you want! my askbox/inbox are always open!) as you want! I love any opportunity to ramble about my WIPs and Supernova Initiative is one of my favorites!

Muse verses. / Star Wars AU
We’re going with “Sequels Era” timelines for my kids. I’ll be adding these to their individual posts but in case anyone’s interested here they are all convenient like.
Styxx
I’mma keep him as an immortal bc it’s fun. Is this reasonable? idk but I’m gonna roll with it. So Styxx dates back to the days of humanity living solely on Earth. Styxx is a mercenary type who roams the galaxies on his terms, occasionally taking jobs to capture criminals and occasionally helping out the rebellion when they’re willing to pay for it. Though as the years have gone by, he’s taken less and less payment from the rebels, helping solely to better the lives of those they’re fighting for. Always such a soft heart- his worst quality according to his long-dead father.
His brother Acheron is out there somewhere, probably leading a crew of Mandalorians or something- Styxx doesn’t know and he forces himself not to care.
Styxx’s home is settled on Jakku. He has a medium tent, two camels named Kamila and Kamilos (the female/male words for camel in Greek, he’s not great with the whole naming thing), and a small canyon krayt dragon he calls Vasilískos that took a liking to him when he rescued it, that remain at his home base when he’s away.
He doesn’t often go looking for jobs, jobs usually come looking for him.
Louis
Currently: rebel fighter Previously: bartender and fighter
Born to a wealthy family on Coruscant, Lou left the city planet pretty quickly after turning of age, the well-known Black sheep of the Warren family disappearing into the universe. He’d pop back up on the radar on a tropical planet where he spends his days serving drinks on the beach and a handful of his nights participating in a fight club that attracts the brave and violent from all corners of the galaxy. He has a good life, serving, surfing, fighting and f*cking. Then he gets recruited for the Rebellion. He’s a Poe Dameron type, bold and charming brave and reckless.
Taken in by the lure to turn his fighting into something meaningful, he leaves the simple life behind, promising himself and his friends he’ll return one day after all is said and done.
They don’t believe him any more than he believes himself- they all know he’s going to get himself killed out there-, but it’s not the first lie he told himself, and it won’t be the last.
Mbege
Space pirate turned rebel pilot.
Murphy and Emori, alongside Mbege had a thriving business of pirating across the galaxies. If pressed I’d say their crew consists of them, Emori, Fox, Harper, Monty, and maybe Emori’s brother but we can just use nameless allies. Harper and Monty got it in their minds to join the Rebellion, Fox got recruited by some gun runners and somewhere along the way Mbege got separated from Murphy and Emori in the same fight that he lost his voice in. On his own now, he ends up following Harper and Monty to the rebellion, thinking eventually Fox, Murphy and E would show up if only to see how the others were faring.
He found a niche in flying the RZ-2 A-wing. Always a hands-on man and a mechanical engineer to boot- he took great pride in flying small fighters when he was with Murphy, and as soon as he heard the challenge of flying an A-wing he knew he had to master it. He’s got a natural talent for ships- fixing and flying both, and he’s a valuable member of the pilot crew.
Fox
A well-skilled thief, Fox flits around from team to team, helping here and there but never staying any one place too long. Fox’s favorite thing is testing her skills- she’ll take retrieval jobs others won’t as an opportunity to test her skills. While not the best in the galaxy, Fox’s name is well known among outlaw circles due to a combination of skill and willingness to take a risk. She’s got friends scattered across the galaxy and she likes to check in on them she can. She makes ends meet and lives a free life, though there’s always a sense of wanting to do more, to find a spot in the universe that she can firmly fit into and stay in.
Circe
A daughter of the First Order, Circe’s father was an officer under the Order. While Carter was stuck at what boiled down to a middle management job within the Order, Circe was much more proactive in securing her future. Circe (as always) works in information and secrets. She’s not securely on either the Order’s side nor the Rebellion’s side, and passes along information as she sees fit, enough to keep her in the good graces of both sides until one proves successful. Circe’s skill lies in conveying enough information that neither sides sees her playing the fence and keeping her activities from her father as he grumbles about being stuck in his position.
Where Circe goes is very muse-dependent. She can be lured further into the Order or completely away and into the Rebellion. She’d be a valuable ally for either, but she goes where the river bend takes her, depending on who she’s close to in a given AU.

Meet the Criminal Syndicates of Star Wars Outlaws
Star Wars Outlaws represents a major departure from previous Star Wars games in recent years. While past games have cast players in the role of different Force users, Rebel leaders, soldiers, and pilots, Star Wars Outlaws centers its story around the criminal underworld. In it, you play Kay Vess, a scoundrel trying to make her way in the world and pull off the ultimate heist to pay off the Zerek Besh.

An ice giant on the outer fringes of the system, Anchorage IV has a planet-wide biome similar to the northern reaches of Earth’s Canada or Alaska, interspersed with vast frozen seas and snow-blasted mountains. Beneath its glacial flows, pockets of a natural gas known as Promine - a potent fuel - provide for the planet’s economy. As gouts of the pressurised gas burst from the land, they freeze almost instantly in the sub-zero atmosphere, forming jagged monolithic columns rich with liquid fuel. These are prime for a lucrative, if not incredibly dangerous extraction and fuel has long overtaken the planet’s tradition of trawler fishing as the main industry.
