I do actually! Most of the stuff I write is Shadamy; as are a good portion of these recommendations.

My Friend Mozie writes some amazing stuff. Their fic Time to Grow Up is one of my all-time favourites even if it rips my heart out every time.

Anything by @shadamyheadcanons is fantastic. Their A03 link is here. I'm personally biased towards Shadow Sensations because that was the first one I found.

@overtdemon knocks it out of the park every time, and writes what I think is the most awkward Shadow, which I adore. If the Glove Fits was such a joy to read.

@suna1suna1 writes some fantastic sonamyshad, including Hedgehogs and Privateers. They play off the dynamics of each of the characters incredibly well!

@w0lp3rtinger has some fantastic stuff as well! What Is It You Want, which is a subset of Hanging On To Tomorrow, is one that really got me back into writing fic at all!

@shadowsfascination has also just been putting out some phenomenal stuff lately; the rose gold amy was awesome!

@sthrox has a fantastic cast of characters in their fics, I'm personally a fan of how Amy's family is written, especially in Shadamy Rain

Hard Candy by JiolionRuns: As the war against the Eggman Army ended, many mobian children were orphaned and placed in Restoration shelters. One of which is where Shadow the hedgehog would encounter a peculiar hoglet who will make him realize a thing or two.

Green with Envy by Reaxeons: What if Dexter was actually real and not just made up? And what if he was a massive douche. What if Shadow helped Amy out, and that sparked a series of events that would change how they see each other? Fuck around and Find Out. ;)

In Bad Faith by ShadamySomeday: Amy convinces Shadow to kiss her to make Sonic jealous. What will happen when his possessiveness and feelings for her push things farther than either of them expect?

Ups and Downs by Zehntacles: Rouge ropes Shadow into going on a date with Amy Rose, while Amy plans to use her date to make Sonic take notice of her. Will either be able to stand the other long enough to get through this night unscathed?

What is the strangest thing you would crochet and still wear in public. Mine would have to be a witches hat sofar. Weirdest thing that I haven't made but would wear is def like booty shorts and a tube top lol

i just like blankets a lot and based on stories i have heard of me from high school, i absolutely would and have worn a blanket in public (though those were not handmade). 

i have a lot of things i want to knit that are jsut like. hats and dresses. but theres not much of a point in knitting clothing/acessories when i live in texas and could only wear them like once or twice a year;;

I searched in a lot of tags already but was wondering if there was a specific tag that would go more in depth for black hair in post-apoclyptic settings. I only found one post. I'm specifically looking for care and maintainance of 4b hair, and styles that would be best for a fallout universe situation, as well as styles that would be most likely based off of the 1950's and what to take into consideration when one goes from having the means to take care of hair to suddenly no clean water

Black Hairstyles for the Apocalypse II: Post-Nuclear  

For a situation like the Fallout game universe, post-nuclear with limited/no clean water, I can only reinforce what has already been said in Black Hairstyles for the Apocalypse; a character with afro hair would need those dependable protective styles on lock down (braids, dreadlocks, etc. look up and take your pick of protective natural styles), more so with little to no safe water to dip her head into.  

AFRO HAIR CARE RESEARCH

Everything you read up on regarding afro hair’s needs is still relevant; Black hair generally needs lots of moisture and protection.

Afro hair routines tend to involve a lot of water, oils, gels, butters and creams. You mention the character’s hair type is 4b, but hair type isn’t even the most important factor when it comes to Black hair maintenance. 4A, 4B, AC, or a mixture of– these numbers are more of a general assessment of what that hair type looks like, needs and reacts, but every individual is different. Hair width, density, and porosity is super, if not more important. Research, research, research. This information is quite accessible nowadays.

My favorite natural hair site is www.naturallycurly.com/. Pinterest has an addictive mash-up of natural hair tips, info and DIY solutions too. Note that doesn’t mean everything is relevant to your character, or even accurate so i’d check with other sources on any information you find.

Important Takeaway: Water to moisturize + Oil to keep it in.

Hair needs water (or water-based moisturizer, typically referred to as leave-in conditioner) to moisturize, and oil to seal it in lest it deplete rapidly (take it from me; my hair gulps down any bit of moisture it gets). 

Most oils do not moisturize by themselves because it cannot penetrate the hair shaft (save a privileged few like coconut oil).

Research key terms: natural hair + moisturizing/sealing, L.O.C. method

If your character has a protective style in most of the time, i’d also be researching “natural hair care with [x].” Though hair needs lessen, they do not disappear.

SOLUTIONS IN NUCLEAR APOCALYPSE

Depending on what resources can be scraped up, there may be opportunity to make or find items that would work as extra hair protection that add and seal in moisture, or even a silk scarf or bandana for extra coverage and for sleeping.

Whether a character does come across these things is mostly out of their control, so the protection that comes with a long-term style like braids is the main tool they’d have to rely on.

As for the 1950s: If this is America, you could look up African American hairstyles in the 50s but the popular styles you’ll see will likely be unfitting for the apocalypse, especially one of this nature. Straight, loosened-textured looks for afro hair won’t thrive well and will be sweated out to one’s natural state quickly, plus their hair weakened from the straightening process. 

However, there were some braided styles popular in the 50s (unspecific to Black people) that could be done for afro hair and would serve as protection. 

For example: the “crown braid” comes up a lot in a quick search (See the image above). Not sure how much one would care to style their hair to stay “with the time’s” in this situation, but that’s for you to work out.

SUMMARY:

Protection is the key here. Reliable long-term styles like braids that tuck in the ends endure breakage and tangling way more than any free-flowing style. It’s that low manipulation and vulnerability to the elements (and hands) that’s key.

For other maintenance questions, do your research and see what you come up with in terms of what the character may scavenge and make do with.

It’s an au where Magnus dies in the Crystal Kingdom final boss fight and then at the end of the Refuge quest Taako uses the Chalice to go back and save him. As with most Chalice au’s, there’s no way it can end well.

I just got dumped pretty hard. It was my longest relationship at a little over a year and a half. I was completely blindsided by it. Now I've got to move back home in another state. Any words of wisdom?

I’m so sorry that you’re hurting. 

Give yourself time to heal. You may feel better if you identify things that remind you of that person and Wallow In It for a bit, but don’t wallow too long. It may help you to take things that remind you of that person and stop having it near you, but don’t do that for too long. (I stopped listening to Tool for a long time. I kinda went ‘whoops’ when I realized I hadn’t listened to Tool OR Radiohead for nearly a decade. I just got out of the habit.)

Honestly, there’s no one way to recover. Just realize that you are wounded, and give yourself time to recover.

Wait, having tubes stops you from swimming and flying in planes?? Because...I got tubes as a kid and I swim a LOT and have travelled in planes alot too. Am i missing something? (I agree that you shouldn't cut kids up for the hell of it when you have other options I just didnt know that tubes affected those two things??))

I’ve already gotten two different responses about this and I’m just going to say that that part of the rant came from an ex-boyfriend complaining about not being able to do these two things (among other things), and that I recognize that, with him being older than me by about eight years, the surgery has probably improved since, or that he himself was a case of the surgery being botched.
