i am having. Many Thoughts. about my HWINEBHABWNAJCAHOWEEATOWEUB AU Ford, so here are some unfiltered rambles about him <3

The entire premise of this AU is that it goes exactly the same as canon right up until Bill betrays Ford steals Fiddleford's eyes, and then Ford kills Bill in retaliation. Everything just sorta snowballs into a huge mess from there, with this sad fuck of a man SMACK BAM in the middle of it all.

I like to explore my Ford in the way he reacts to things. It's interesting to see how far I can really take it until it becomes borderline OOC, especially when he kills Bill. He didn't actually fully mean to kill him, but at the same time that was exactly his intention, if that makes any sense?

Although Bill stealing Fiddleford's sight privileges instead of Ford's was one of the main reasons that triggered Stanford's decision to murder him, I'd like to compare his act more as a frantic, desperate grasp to survive, rather than a calculated, cold revenge being enacted. I think that he was just trying to live, in that primal, undeniable fear of death that can consume anyone, even Gods. Especially Gods.

I think that, as much as Bill's murder was a moment of power reversal, in which the victim got a taste of the power their abuser had over them, it was also a moment when Gods and mortals alike became so very aware of their own helplessness in the face of sheer and blind will to just survive. I don't think that Ford felt like a God when he killed Bill. I think that Bill wasn't facing wrathful being in that moment, he was facing a mere man who was so afraid to die he was willing to do anything. But you can't blame him for that, right? You can't blame him for wanting to live? For fearing death? He's only human.

Walks in... I am slowly. But surely. Considering posting fics here.

I talked a LOT about writing a Mutant Manhunt fic a while back, which is still happening btw! But I also have a shit ton of smaller one shots and blurbs that are wasting away in my google docs :( there's a couple having to do with post-movie recovery, plus some short drabbles around the mind swap au, AND stuff for the raph tot one I'm reviving. So I've got plenty to share that's for sure

I've never posted my writing before so it's a little terrifying to even consider, but if anyone is interested in that uhhhh. yeah! Sorry this isn't an art post it's like 6 in the morning and my brain won't turn off so here I am asking for opinions on this

A Red Hood story where Jason, instead of being a crime lord, helps victims of abuse to take revenge on people that hurt them and got away with it. He reaches out to them with an offer and a promise that they will not face any consequence for what they'll decide to do. Once their minds are set, he abducts the abusers, ties them up and takes them to a secluded place. He never pushes any of the victims to murder, allowing them to choose whether they want to end the objects of their nightmares, inflict pain or scream their souls out before leaving. But Red Hood always finishes the job. No monster will walk the streets and hurt anyone else while Jason's alive and breathing. So, the perpetrators die either way.

The main antagonist? Not Batman. Not Nightwing and certainly not Robin. But Batgirl. Cassandra “Not-Even-The-Law-Is-Allowed-To-Execute-Abusers-On-My-Watch” Cain. She's angry, so she hunts but never kills. They have a whole “Catch Me if You Can” sequence until they meet face to face, but never reach a conclusion that would suffice both sides. Jason wants to help fellow victims find peace, one he himself was never granted. Cass can't let him get away with any more murder.

A lot of grey areas to explore (did they deserve it? Yes. Will the victims be able to live with themselves knowing that their hands are painted in blood? Who knows). No happy endings for anyone. None of the “batfamily-makes-peace” bullshit. Just pain upon pain upon pain. And so much projection from both parties.
