I think I'll call this piece "Decisions, Decisions"... 🦋 Really though these are the latest bin my Ravelry queue all at different stages of #notevenclosetodone 🤣, minus some I don't behave yarn for or haven't officially started. 🦋 Some people are overwhelmed by this sight, but for the special relationship I, my Muse, & my ADHD have it's heaven...because there are options. To suit my mood, to suit my concentration level, to work on for short bursts or great lengths. 🦋 For me options are EVERYTHING because I can't stand to be restricted...of course don't get me wrong I love structure & frameworks, they give solidity to the play so it doesn't go off the rails constantly. It's easy to get wrapped up in trying to progress...to move forward...to elevate. So much so that one loses track of the journey, of the process by which these things happen.⁠ ⁠ Everything always happens one step at a time. Sometimes these steps are in fast succession, other times they are drawn out. Things ever take the time that they will take and it is our job merely to go through the process as we can, how we can.⁠ ⁠ Do not worry about the state of your work, where you are in the process, or how fast you get there. Today is one of those days where I'm really not feelin' it...but as you can see I don't have time to chill and do nada. . That's the life when it's just you doing all of the work. Some days are hard & tiring, sometimes the energy isn't there. Sometimes you have to push through, sometimes you have to guard your energy. For me this week I'm choosing to go slowly with what I can. . Rushing & pushing can be violent to a sensitive system that is already fragile. Like so much overheated glass ready to splinter. Pressure applied is not always a good idea. Spent the first part of my morning translating a Russian knitting pattern with the help of a chart, translation app, & a visual understanding of what various knitting stitches look like. . Okay, I know I know....you just heard from me right? Never mind all that. I should have shared this much earlier in the day...but I was working on this impromptu thing...this new design you see here, re-created in the form of a stitch pattern from an existing pattern, for a colleague. . One of the things that you've got to know about me is that I don't do "simple". Don't get me wrong, I love succinct & things that are to the point. That's just not how I roll...and so I've given up trying to squeeze my verbosity...my rich & lively language into that little box to check off. . When we work together...whether you're taking advantage of my new Stitch Assist offering (where you get to pick my creative brain or get help with your own creative projects) or you commission me for a custom order...you're going to get details. Generally I take the weekends off, but there are a few maintenance tasks that need to be done before the start of the week. The present one being setting up the #CotD. . Some work I try to do live or the day of, other things don't work so well that way. These #meditativemessage posts are among those. I found that when I tried to post the day of it just didn't get done. . Knowing my work flow and how certain tasks are best accomplished is one of the reasons I appear so productive. Planning saves me time even when it seems I'm doing a lof of work at once. . How does your work flow?
