Struggling to find meaning

Meaning is so essential to us, and I really ask myself what are the reasons leading us to desire this sense of purpose. If many ways to seek meaning or purpose do exist, I have failed to understand why this drive happens at a fundamental level. Perhaps, it is the Ultimate drive ?

Authors such as Viktor Frankl, Carl Rogers and Abraham Maslow dedicated their work on our inner desire to find purpose and meaning in life. Purpose can be achieved either by searching for meaning through creative pursuits (Frankl), or by growing toward our true selves by self-discovery and authentic relationships (Rogers), or by progressing through the Hiearchy of Needs, realising our own essence.

Meaning is a necessity and without it we suffer a lot.

Our sense of purpose is what keeps us alive. If we explore this further, that means everyone's constantly striving to maintain a certain meaning in their daily lives, which is difficult to achieve repeatedly. That is truelly our Common struggle, right ?

The idea that life's purpose resides in self-introspection resonates with me. We fill our days with distractions or wonder how to spend our free time, forgetting that true fulfillment may lie within ourselves.

Feeling lost, bored, depressed and so on is part of the process of achieving self-realisation.

To transcend ourselves and access meaning in Life, requires courage.

You know why ? because even if we assume you are knowledgeable on how to live this life, you still have to handle Ego, your traumas and coping mechanisms.

I read your comment on that one post about voting in the primary vs general elections, and you mentioned to ask if someone needed help, so here goes

My id is in a different state than I live in because at the moment I don't have the money to get it changed, but I also won't be able to go back to the state it's registered in to vote. Will that cause problems with registering and voting?

That will almost certainly depend on what state you are voting in.

As an example, in my state, Illinois, you do not need any form of ID to vote by mail or to go to your local precinct if you're already registered. Many states do not require any reason to vote by mail, so if you can do that and get a ballot that way you can save yourself the stress!

But I know in other states you are required to show at least 1 form of ID -- and again the states vary on what counts as ID. As long as your ID is not expired, you should be fine, especially if your previous state uses RealID. And plenty of places let you use things for ID you wouldn't expect -- like a power or gas bill with your correct address on it, or a library card for your city.

If you're comfortable with it, please share the state you are voting in and I can pull up the requirements for you!

Ok, so I actually bumped into this ship by chance, and very recently, so I'm still exploring it! I watched all their intro dialogues from MK11 and saw a bunch of cool fanarts from them, and so far, I'm intrigued!

Skarlet is quite the character that I would have under my wing. She is very interesting and has a lot of potential! I definitely want to add her to my AUs!

And if she wants a cowboy, by all means, I'll give her a cowboy! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Regarding Erron. He seems to have some sort of code. I remember him not wanting to harm Cassie and Jacquie and actually trying to keep them safe from Kano. He also seems to be quite loyal, too.

I feel like he would sympathise with Skarlet and maybe even warn her of the danger she puts herself in by trust Shao Kahn. Maybe he would even encourage her to become her own boss, like he did, heh, perhaps he could even invite her to become a bounty hunter with him!

I believe their relationship would NOT have the best start, but that's because Skarlet would fear leaving Shao Kahn + brainwash would probably make her think Erron is tricking her!

But eventually, she would warm up to him and realide she quite enjoys finally being loyal to someone who's loyal to her in return!
