Reposted from @thereadingmom.ng The Naive Wife - Rachel's Hope by @ufuomaee Blurb Rachel’s Hope picks up from Rachel’s Diary, after she is confronted with the truth about her husband…or is it? Rachel’s not sure about a lot of things anymore, but she’s sure of one; God loves her. In that, she has hope. Through the challenges of her marriage, a dream is birthed. Rachel discovers that she is well-positioned to help other women in need and seizes the opportunity with both hands. By providence, she meets Isaiah, a widower with a little girl, who loves God and, as she later discovers, loves her too. Rachel finds herself confronted with another choice to make. Will she seize this opportunity for a new love, or will the old love of her life win the battle for her heart? Rachel’s Hope is the last book in The Naive Wife Trilogy about love, faith, and marriage. It deals with hard truths about our world and our hearts, and it may just give you a whole new perspective on life. It is a must-read for singles and married folks alike. ________________ Rachel’s Hope gives a great ending to The Naïve Wife Trilogy. @ufuomaee deals with the topic of divorce which is a controversial issue in the Christian community. I agree with the author on how this played out. God has called his children to peace (1 Corinthians 7:15). More importantly, I love how the characters in the book found their peace with God before anything else. I’m also happy with the way it ended for the husband. I enjoyed reading this book and I read it in one sitting. P.S The version I read is not the final version but an ARC sent to me by the author ________________ What I liked - The lessons on marriage, love and relationship with God The growth of the characters Interesting twists Easy and enjoyable to read Great ending ________________ My rating: 8/10 _________________ Click link on @ufuomaee’s bio to get this book _________________ #thereadingmom #bookreview #rachelshope #thenaivewifetrilogy #thenaivewiferachelshope #ufuomaee #christianwriters #christianromance #Nigerianauthor #christianfiction #bibliophile #bookworm #booklover #readinginLagos #readinginNigeria #lovestory #authorreview #TNWRH https://www.instagram.com/p/CR1MQzIF98u/?utm_medium=tumblr

B O O K R E V I E W :
If You Cannot Find Her by Shee
Rating: 3.75/5 stars 🌟
3.75 stars.
I have read Shee’s writing for a while on IG and was so happy that she brought a book out! I’ve been trying to write my own for a while so know how hard it is.
I really liked the introduction that Shee put at the beginning of the book as it allowed us to personally connect with her before starting to read her poetry and prose. She really sets you up what to expect and is so humble about her talent. After reading this book I feel so proud of Shee to be able to share such painful memories and feelings with her readers. There is a mix of long and short form which adds a wave like effect to the book. The pieces of art on every other page really adds a nice addition to the writing.
My favourite thing about this book was that there is interactive parts where you fill in the blanks which is the first book I’ve seen this in and I loved it! It made me feel more invested and got us to really connect to the words.
The reason I have rated this book just under 4 stars is because I found it very emotionally draining which made me read it a lot slower. I relate to a lot of the emotions in the book but I have been through many years of healing from these things so it felt like a step backwards to being reading such painful emotions. Most poetry anthologies I have read have a light at the end of the tunnel moment which this book doesn’t have. Having said this I really did enjoy reading this anthology and Shee has done an amazing job with her debut anthology!

Reposted from @thereadingmom.ng The Naïve Wife - Rachel’s Diary by @ufuomaee Three months after making her choice between Ejike, Doug, and Dongjap, Rachel dusts off her diary… They are expecting a baby, but her marriage is not what she anticipated it would be. But that’s just normal, right? Nothing real faith and fervent prayer can’t handle… But as the years go by, Rachel wonders maybe she’s been looking at things all wrong. Maybe it’s not too late to make a different choice… Rachel’s Diary is the second volume of The Naïve Wife trilogy on love, marriage and faith. It is an entertaining and eye-opening read for singles and married folks alike _____________________________________ Another enjoyable read from @ufuomaee and my favourite genre – Christian Romance. Rachel’s Diary continues the story of Rachel after she made the wrong choice (please read the first volume – Rachel’s Choice). I found her story very relatable and so emotional that I’m almost angry at the author. However, I believe it is a book that speaks to many people’s realities – what happens when you realise, after getting married, that you made the wrong choice? As is common with @ufuomaee’s books, this book is quite easy to read, I read most of it in one sitting. I can’t wait for the last volume of the trilogy. _____________________________ What I liked - Interesting Well written Easy to read Relatable story and characters Lessons for singles and married people Nice twists _________________________________ What I didn’t like – I feel like the story could have been wrapped up in this volume. ______________________________________ My rating: 8/10 ______________________________________ I read this on @bambooks.io. It is also available on @okadabooks and Amazon ____________________________________ #thereadingmom #bookreviews #thenaivewife #rachelsdiary #ufuomaee #bibliophile #bookworm #booklover #readinginLagos #readinginNigeria #lovestory #authoreview #honestreview #christianromance #christianfiction #fiction #bookswelove #bookrecommendation #readersoninstagram #readersofinstagram #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #womenwriter #womenwhowrite #nigerianauthor #romance #romancewriter https://www.instagram.com/p/CGRpok4FItW/?igshid=5yg81iwkvi6n

Reposted from @thereadingmom.ng The Naïve Wife (Rachel’s Choice) by @ufuomaee On the day of her sister's marriage introduction, radio show host, Rachel Eden, meets Ejike and Doug; two friends that could not be more different. She finds herself instantly attracted to Ejike, but there's something about Doug and the way he's determined to win her heart. Neither men are who they appear to be, however, making Rachel's choice harder. Her producer and friend, Dongjap, also makes his intentions known, but could he be a little too late? Rachel's Choice is a story of many singles, seeking to know the will of God for their relationships and who need, beyond wisdom, grace to make the right choice for their lives. It is the first volume of a three-book fictional series about love and marriage - The Naive Wife _____________________________________ Another enjoyable read from @ufuomaee and my favourite genre – Christian Romance. The story drew me in so much that I found myself emotionally involved in Rachel’s choice. It was difficult to put down, I finished it in one sitting (I read it in bed so one ‘lying down’? 🤣) _____________________________ What I liked - Interesting and suspense-filled Well written Easy to read Relatable story and characters _________________________________ What I didn’t like – Unless there is a twist (which is possible), Rachel made the wrong choice. Painful but that is not even the issue. I don’t like that, for someone who was shown to hear from God, the only warning she got was a Bible verse which she misinterpreted. It would have been a different thing if she was disobedient, but she actually thought she was being obedient to God. ______________________________________ My rating: 8/10 ______________________________________ I read this on @bambooks.io. It is also available on @okadabooks and Amazon ____________________________________ P.S It seems like Nigerian Christian romance writers like the names Ejike and Ekene. Thanks for #reading and dropping your #review for me 🤗 Reposted from @thereadingmom.ng - As requested by the author – Perfect Love by Ufuoma E-Asogbon @ufuomaee ______________________________ This was the book of the month of a book club I belong to @divasread for February. Perfect for the month of love (pun intended😉). ______________________________ An unhappily married woman meets her ex after a long time and old feelings resurface. Her husband is also unhappy in the marriage and has found comfort elsewhere. An unexpected almost-tragedy is the beginning of their journey to understand what love truly is. _______________________________ What I learnt • It is important to intentionally keep the spark alive in marriage • God is able to help us come to the point of full forgiveness • There is no ‘greener grass’ elsewhere • Recognise and appreciate the good in your spouse ________________________________ What I liked • The spiritual and marital lessons • It all worked out in the end • It was quite interesting ________________________________ What I didn’t like • The writing style was a little inconsistent • The story seems to have too many twists and turns ________________________________ I read this book on @okadabooks ________________________________ #bookreviews #thereadingmom #bookworm #perfectlove #ufuomaee #bibliophile #blessingreads #blessingshotreads #readinginLagos #booklover #readinginNigeria - #regrann https://www.instagram.com/p/BvL7u1MHF6d/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=2b6s16ii0ig3

B O O K R E V I E W : World on Trial: The Earth’s Grand Vengeance by @witchesnpink Rating: 4/5 stars 🌟 Firstly, I would like to thank Witches n’ Pink for choosing to publish a piece of my poetry inside this anthology. (Titled: Take With Water). I am so grateful to apart of such a powerful collection of protest poetry. My favourite piece in this anthology is by Spencer Merced @spncrwrites, titled To the Men who said: “Get Over it…”. It is such a powerful piece that completely blew me away. It is so emotionally raw that I shed tears just reading it. The whole anthology is about voices being heard and I think it does complete justice to every writer published inside. The quality of poetry is amazing and I will defiently be searching for more poetry by the many authors inside. I also loved S.Blanchett’s piece (@s.blanchett), titled ‘Effervescence’ which expressed such strength, I was cheering on while reading! The other memorable piece was by Letters and Rose Petals @lettersandrosepetals), titled 'Imagine’ which flowed so well and told a story that had me hooked. There is trigger warnings that come with this anthology so make sure to practice self care while reading it! Overall, I am so proud to be apart of this anthology and recommend anyone who loves poetry to read it!
