Got a lap cat to help me read this Cat Who mystery!

I have read all of Lilian Jackson Braun’s Cat Who books over the years. My grandmother introduced me to them when I was a teen, and my dad thought it would be very funny to buy me a complete set from eBay when I was in college. It was funny, and I loved it.

Unfortunately, trying to read with Max at 1 am, with a whole room around him and the heat turning on (involving clicks and other noises he's not used to from several places), is much harder than expected. He kept moving and trying to go off and sit elsewhere on the couch or explore, so I had to keep petting him so he'd stay.
