seeing the news: moonpaw is very cute.... dumb and inaccurate chimera thing tho but this is battle cats so lbr lol (plus i do like the dark side of the moon imagery idea so ill let it slide....even tho split face is just normal tortie markings)
also i hate to break it to yall but the series would need a total and complete rework and overhaul where the clans break apart and reform in order to escape the incest problem currently in the series just because of how much of firestars dna has injected itself everywhere >>;;
the authors clearly dont keep proper track of the family trees (they have a lot of cats to keep track of i get it) and i dont think it needs to constantly be this major talking point
we all know it, its not ideal, but theres more interesting things to discuss about the character reveal for moonpaw imo

This cat has a PhD

Fanart for Panthera by @idrewacow
I cannot recommend this fic enough, it is an absolute delight so far. It's a classic, traditionally lighthearted fanfiction trope being handled dead serious and it's everything I didn't know I needed. It doesn't hesitate to dig its claws (haha) into visceral discomfort for our lead, but it still has moments that made me laugh out loud. Can't wait to see what happens next!

Not to get too heated ab Warrior Cats or anything but I was thinking ab it and the reason my girl Hollyleaf doesn’t get dragged by the fandom like my other two faves Bluestar and Squirrelflight- despite also being a strongheaded highly motivated female character, and despite being ostensibly more morally compromised than either of them- is bc Hollyleaf never became a mother <3 we see it in the series text all the time; shitty dads are only made so by their own traumatic circumstances and are deserving of grace and a chance at redemption (Crowfeather, Sandgorse) but queens who are anything less than perfect madonnas are either depicted as being irredeemably evil and shallow(Rainflower, Lizardstripe) or are disproportionately punished by the narrative (Leafpool and Squirrelflight during the trial). The fandom is no better; Bluestar and Squirrelflight are judged almost solely by how people feel about the decisions they made on behalf of their children, which are often taken out of context to vilify and mischaracterize them, and to excuse the actions of the male characters playing opposite them eg Bramblestar and Thistleclaw

ik you said no more ssks so please dont be mad but... ivypool x blossomfall?
it's fine, i can do a couple more! (no more doodles tho sorry) ivypool x blossomfall is not really for me i'm afraid. i'm still caught up on the earlier fandom interpretation that inexplicably treated it like it would be thoroughly wholesome and sweet instead of a dramatic toxic high school romance. i think the latter has the potential to be interesting and/or funny but the former usually feels a little out of character- from what i remember, blossomfall is really mean to ivypool along with everyone else in the books! i can see why people enjoy the angle of these characters stuck in the trauma of being dark forest trainees finding a way to make something good out of it, but again, i'm not personally too invested in these characters and think people tend to mischaracterise them a lot so it's not really my thing most of the time.

Hey, not an ask, just wanted to thank you again for the awesome fanart! The design is pretty much spot-on (I love the little '3' you snuck in there!) 'This cat has a PhD' was also hysterical.
No need to answer if you don't want to, just wanted to give my direct thanks. :)
Aw gosh, I'm so glad you like it!! I'm really enjoying your fics, so it feels good to be able to support Panthera in whatever way I can as a way of giving my own thanks! Especially since I'm really happy with how her design turned out, so with any luck I'll be drawing more of this poor little kitty soon.
I've been trying to avoid saying any direct spoilers in hopes that I can convince some of my followers to read it for themselves, but honestly I think even if you know what's going to happen it's still really satisfying.
This adorable, fluffy cat is experiencing The Horrors, and I'm torn between wanting to see her go through the wringer and wanting to scoop her up and give her a warm bed and some tuna.
...And therapy, for that matter.

So I'm speedrunning Utena again to see how I feel about the "Shadow Girls are Anthy's Projections" concept, and instead I'm thinking about how Chu-chu spends a lot of time hanging out with Utena without Anthy.
Like at first he's with Anthy all the time but you start having Utena take care of him when Anthy's not even there-- obviously Chu-chu stays behind when Anthy visits Akio but also things like Utena taking him for a walk at night because she's taking care of him.
And this is based on vibes only but it's always seemed to me that Chu-chu does not necessarily play the same manipulation games that Anthy does. He's not luring Utena out or purposefully distracting her, imo. He's just. Anthy's friend. Her first one.
