You sat in the bedroom, already in your Splatoween costume. It was nothing too extreme, but it was good enough with you. Suddenly, you heard some clicking, and in came your first girlfriend, Shiver, who was dressed up as a geisha.

"My, what an excellent costume you have there, darling!" Shiver commented, walking over to you. Your jaw dropped (not literally) upon seeing their outfit. She was so decked out!

"W-wow, Shiver! Your costume looks amazing!" You pointed out. Shiver closed her eyes and laughed, before sitting down next to you on the bed.

"Thank you, dear. I spent a lot of time preparing it." She said, interlocking her hand with yours. "Tonight is gonna be so much fun, wouldn't you say?" She smiled, now trailing her other hand through your tentacle hair.

"Y-yeah! Tonight's gonna be so much fun... just me... you...-"

"AND DON'T FORGET ME!"

Suddenly, your second girlfriend, Frye, came running into the room, sporting a more black outfit, and decked out in tons of jewelry. On top of her head was a murex shell. She then immediately tackled you, placing a big ol' smooch on your lips.

"My, Frye. Certainly decked out, are we?" Shiver looked at Frye, raising an eyebrow. Frye pulled away from the kiss, a huge smile showing quite clearly on her face.

"Yyyyep! I wanted to go alllll out today! Whaddya think? Pretty awesome, right?!" She smirked, looking over to you. "And look at you! You look soooo awesome! I could just eat you up!" Frye grabs your cheeks and squishes them together, making silly little sounds.

"Haha, okay, Frye..." You giggled. Frye was definitely the silliest of the group. She always knew how to raise your spirits. Shiver shortly follows in on the laughter... but then, you heard a *BUMP*.

"Ay... ay! (Ow... We really need to lower the door!)" Your boyfriend, Big Man said. He was wearing a sheet, sewn to look like a ray. It reminded you of the Boogeyman in a way, but just seeing him made you smile.

"Big Man!!! Look at you! You look so silly!" Frye hopped off your lap and walked over to Big Man, playfully punching him. He lets out an "Ay!" in response. You looked at all three of your partners.

"Hm? Something on your mind, Y/N?" Shiver taps your shoulder, noticing the trance you're in. Suddenly, you get off the bed, pulling Shiver along. You share an embrace with all three of your partners.

"You all look so COOL!" You exclaim, hugging them as tightly as possible. Big Man, being quite literally the Big Man, wraps his fins around you right. Shiver hugged you back too, letting out a happy sigh. Frye was the last to return the hug, but when she did, she hugged y'all TIGHT. You all pull away for a breath, before laughing.

"Tonight really is gonna be a blast..." You mutter, looking back at your three partners.

"You're dang right it is! Now come on, let's go get as much candy as possible! Whoever gathers the most wins!" Frye exclaimed, bolting out the door.

"A-ay... ay. (O-oh... someone should make sure she doesn't get hurt.)" Big Man said, slowly following her out the door, NOT bumping his head this time.

You and Shiver were the only ones left in the bedroom. You two turned to look at one another, and you felt a blush on your face...

"Well? What are we waiting for?" Shiver cupped your cheek, giving you a kiss on the forehead, leaving a lipstick mark.

"Let's go get that candy."

You quickly nodded, and Shiver grabbed your hand, bolting out the door as well... it was time to get the most candy in all of the Splatlands!

♨ The MILLISECOND she hears you sniff or cough, it is straight to bed with you

♨ If you throw up or something she'll be there to hold your tentacles back (if they're long enough)

♨ If she sees you out of bed other than to go to the bathroom she will throw a FIT and drag you back to bed

♨ She will do all the chores in the house and will cook for you, regardless if it's just a common cold or not

♨ You got sick around the time Grizz was defeated, so she had a lot of free time other than the occasional acting gig and the release of Wave Goodbye.

♨ She does all the cooking and cleaning. She doesn't give a slug's ass what you came down with. You are not overworking yourself on her watch

♨ You got sick just before Off the Hook went on tour, so it threw a small wrench into the plan, but that was alright!

♨ Pearl isn't too good at cooking by the way, so it'll just be fruit or something that doesn't require more effort than a microwave and boiling water

♨ Marina is probably the most medically trained person on this list

♨ You also got sick around the time Off the Hook was going on tour, so that made her a bit busier since she had to work on the tour, the memverse, and make sure you didn't die

♨ So what did she prescribe? Love, it was the only medicine! That and prednisone

♨ She's almost as lenient as Marie but as caring as Callie

♨ Since she was in the military, she learned a bunch of ways to treat sick people, so she's a wiz at this

♨ She doesn't want you completely immobilized, so she lets you help with chores and cooking

♨ Will check in with you every once is a while, but when she does she asks a gazillion questions at a time

♨ ❝ Hey, (N/N), are you feeling any better? Are you hungry, thirsty, do you have a headache? Do you need medicine? Are you too hot, too cold?

♨ Shiver, being the youngest of the Hohojiro family, doesn't know all that much about medicine

♨ She definitely gets advice from Frye and Big Man. They even help take care of you sometimes

♨ She makes a bit more of a deal about it than she should

♨ You got sick around the leader splatfest (that goes for all of Deep Cut), so of course Shiver was all over you during the halftime break

♨ ❝ (N/N)? Please tell me you're okay! You haven't thrown up, right? Do you have a fever? I could get you some water and a fan if you do!

♨ She asked when all you wanted was a Crabby Cake.

♨ Shiver, no matter how much she loves you, will never admit that she had to get help from someone else

♨ Takes you everywhere just so you're in her sight, even while she's out banditting

♨ Orders Master Mega (or one of the Deep Cut members) to carry you around everywhere

♨ Frye's family has a bunch of remedies that probably aren't safe to the public

♨ Big Man has repeatedly told her not to use these remedies as a last resort

♨ ❝ Just take 3 of these a day, she says as she holds up what is possibly the most toxic food known to inkling and octoling kind

♨ Other than that, she's good at treating people. Like i said before, she's got siblings, so she kinda had to be

♨ Frye's like Marie when it comes to stuff like this because she also believes that, as long as you're not on your death bed, you'll be fine

♨ With that said, she will not hesitate to carry you around and do everything for you

♨ ❝ Oh, yeah, no, straight to bed! C'mon, I'll carry you! You can work, but don't overwork yourself, man! I'll finish cleaning the dishes, just don't die on me!

♨ Just like with Shiver, the rest of Deep Cut helps out with taking care of you, too

♨ Probably the most caring person on this list next to Marina

♨ He is a LOT more normal out of the other two members of Deep Cut

♨ And since he's a naturally caring person he makes a great caretaker

♨ Big Man's family definitely has remedies they use, too. Except these remedies are actually safe to use on people

♨ Mostly cooks you sour food, even if it's mild

♨ He is always prepared; he's got tons of medicine and tissues for when you guys go out together (and barf bags..)

♨ Big Man believes you're a capable person, so he'll also let you help with chores and cooking until he sees that you're tired/dizzy

♨ Then he'll send you right back to bed and spend the rest of the day caring for you

♨ There are a lot of people on this list who let you fend for yourself holy hell

♨ You got sick just after the Side Order DLC would've been completed, so Acht didn't have anything better to do than hang out with Marina or make music

♨ Acht seems like a "tough love" kinda character (that's also very caring at the same time), so that's why I feel like they'd be another character like that

♨ Though they still cook and clean for you from time to time! Albeit they're.. not the best cook..

♨ Sometimes, if they think you've worked enough, they'll throw you over the shoulder and carry you

♨ Acht doesn't know medicine as well as Marina (considering they're a dropout) so they go to Marina for advice

♨ Acht might fuck up the procedure once or twice, but it all works out in the end! They try, trust me

♨ Also keeps you company while you rot away in bed

♨ Lets you suggest music for them to make (and its always good)

Deep Cut x Autistic Reader

(Platonic, GN Reader)

AN: this is SUCH a good one. very blessed thank u very much anon for my request!! <3 As usual this was written platonic(since no relationship was specified) but could be read romantic if ya squint.

Shiver is 100% autistic as well if you ask me. BUT she was taught from a very young age how to act "proper" and how to deal with people so she can mask very well.

I don't think she would fully realize it until later in life but she eventually does and kinda goes "wait i can't be because- wait... maybe.. i- .... hm.. that... that would explain some things..."

Frye is AuDHD and has been aware since she was tiny.

Big Man i think could also be some form of neurodivergent.

Anyway. what i'm getting at here is that none of them would judge you and they instead would get along very well with you!

If you stim, don't even worry about any of them looking at you weird or asking you questions. They wouldn't even acknowledge it as anything out of the ordinary.

If you are stimming physically Frye might even end up copying you! She moves around a lot to stim and she especially likes rocking side to side and waving her hands.

If you stim vocally you can sometimes catch Shiver repeating you or picking certain stims from you.

If you have stim toys expect the rest of Deep Cut to take an interest in them. They probably also have some of their own and you all can sit in a circle showing off your collections :)

If you have trouble in social situations or get nervous/awkward talking to strangers you can count on Frye and Shiver to help you out! They can be the "They asked for no pickles!" friend for you. Big Man is more likely to be just as nervous as you.....

Shiver and Frye are both confident in social situations most of the time.

Shiver is confident because she can track patterns and people very well and prides herself on basically "picking the right dialogue option" to get what she wants. But sometimes things she didn't plan for will happen and it throws her off entirely and she doesn't know what to do.

Frye is confident because she is extroverted and just likes talking to people! Plus she just doesn't care if other people find her weird or anything. She's very confident in herself and her personality, so she doesn't care if other don't like it or judge her.

So go to those two if you ever need anything :3

If you have a stuffed animal you carry around for comfort Deep Cut will love it! Big Man would ask you what it's name is and Frye would totally fawn over it. Shiver would probably be the type of person to talk to it like it's a real person and greet it formally. It's very cute watching her shake it's hand and smile at it.

If you ever want to rant about a special interest, go to Big Man. He ADORES hearing you speak. Especially if he's working on something. Explain every last detail to him. He will listen intently as you talk.

Shiver is also a pretty good choice. She will ask questions along the way and try to understand every last detail. She may even take notes about important parts so she doesn't forget them when you talk to her about it again.

Frye meanwhile is not great at sitting still and listening to you talk for long times. She will try her best but really it's best to just show her what you are interested in. If it's a show she will be 100% down to binge it with you! If it's a game let her play it. If it's a book she will ask you to read it to her. If it's something more abstract like biology or such, bring out diagrams when you talk to her about it. She does better with pictures and will listen along like a student at a lecture.

If you have food related sensory issues, don't even worry. Shiver is also somewhat picky about her food(especially texture) and she will sympathize with you and help you avoid things you won't like. Frye will eat almost anything so whatever you don't want off your plate you can always toss her way and she will gobble it all up. Big Man will help work with you to make sure you are getting proper nutrition while still enjoying your meals.

All three of them like food a lot and have traditional food from their cultures they enjoy and want to introduce to you. They will help you find things they think you would like and respect you when you say you don't want to try something!

Shiver enjoys picking out outfits for you, and she always dresses you in the softest of fabrics if you have sensory issues. You will look good AND feel good by the time she is done with you!

If structure makes you happy, spend time with Big Man. He likes to plan things out meticulously and follows it no matter what.

If you are more impulsive, Frye will be your best friend! She is the QUEEN of impulsive actions.

Having a meltdown? These three would NEVER judge you. If you cry they won't see you as "immature" or "over dramatic" and will instead work on getting you happy as fast as possible. They will help get you away from any bright lights, loud sounds, or stressful situations that caused it.

Big Man usually has headphones on him so if you need them just ask! He is always ok with letting you borrow them!

If physical touch can help sooth you then Frye is perfect. She will hug you, rub your back, run her fingers through your hair, whatever you need.

Shiver will talk to you in a calm and even voice to try and calm you down and help you focus on her rather than what is overstimulating/upsetting you.

You guys can all have fun having ND moments like "Hey look at this cool rock i found!" *all stops and stares at it* "Woah this texture is so nice, come touch it!" and "Wait what did that person mean by that? did any of y'all get it????"

Basically all in all these three are perfect. All of them are ND and will just get you. You don't have to explain things to them, there's no awkwardness, and they will never judge you.

I’m going to leave the pokemon part out only because I find it kinda awkward to put it in with “bad at turf wars”. But you can request the pokemon part in your next request when I’m open again.

Honestly, they don't mind the fact you suck at Turf Wars. They'll just train you to become better.

Particularly Shiver. They love teaching people and plus, they get to be their cool and mysterious personality. Their favorite part to teach is ambushing players and splatting them.

Frye is the energetic one so she teaches mass kills/splats. She loves gaining a lot of ground coverage and splatting the other team while in the process.

Mantaro is just chilin'. He's all about ground coverage and inking the turf up. The most relaxed of the three.

Soon enough you'll be up and running around, becoming an excellent player.

They're going to be cheering for you. Even if you can't hear them.

" Serving: Side Order "

CHAPTER 1 | PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

The end of the beginning, Inkopolis Plaza is under an immediate evacuation notice due to the strange sightings of Octolings and Inklings; Deepcut broadcasted this warning, along with a warrant for another group associated with these Octoling and Inklings.

“ Splatsville, you lip sync and we drip ink, we’re Deep Cut and Anarchy Splatcast is live! ” The Television screens broadcasted Deepcut, after their short introduction, as residents of splitsville took a pause in their activities. They turned their attention over to one of the monitors, to the idols of Splatville; who had gone live sooner than they usually would in their 2-hour news cycle.

“ We have an important announcement to make, so listen up! ” Frye shouted, pointing at the camera as her other hand balled. There was a silent panic that the idols shared, a panic that began to slowly waver off from the television screens and cloud in the streets. Inklings and Octolings share a look of confusion, some of fright, as their idols quickly continued:

“ Ay! (That’s right!) ” Big Man nodded, allowing Shiver to quickly pick up on the news; they were the calmest out of the 3, the clearest choice to present the global news.

Though there was a hesitation they had to fight, “ There have been sightings of strangely colored Octolings and Inklings on the outskirts of Inkopolis Square; we are unaware of what they want, what they are doing, or who they might be working with. All Travel, other than leaving Inkopolis Square, has been banned to keep citizens safe. ”

The collective confusion, mixed with fright, slowly began to sink into the skin of Inklings and Octolings as horror and alarm; wide eye stares were shared between the masses outside, Turf wars and Anarchy battles were put on a pause at the sudden broadcasting. An alert to the citizens of the current news that could affect plans, moods, and most importantly lives. A broadcast that wasn’t just shown in Splitsville yet globally, as any other idol available had been busy with another task to promote this need for awareness.

“ There is no need for panic, ” Shiver continued, trying to keep as calm as they could while delivering such news, “ We employ everyone to be as aware as they can, to help everyone around you and help defuse this situation.

If you see a strange Inkling or Octoling, such as this one, ” Shiver gestured to the monitor that Big Man stood behind with their fan. Sister images appeared, two of an octoling and two of an inkling, each image holding an oddity of the person standing inside it; either them being purely white or their colors being heavily desaturated, like they were dragged through the mud before being washed off. “ If you see one, it is advised to run in the other direction. Do not approach or interact with them. They could be hostile, dangerous to the average Inkling or Octoling. ”

Shiver soon tapped their little wooden box with their fan, causing the image on the monitor to change once more. This time, a symbol not known to many appeared in front of a purely black screen. The symbol held a squid in the middle with two riffle-looking guns on either side, with the left riffle pointing to the right and the right rifle pointing to the left, crossing over each other. It was the symbol for Squidbeak.

The moment the symbol had been shown, agents from Squidbeak took a pause and glanced over at the nearest screen; their eyes slightly wide at the upcoming mention of their secret group.

Shiver hesitated, almost biting their tongue, as they chewed out, “ An unknown group of agents have been fighting these Octolings and Inklings from the sidelines. There is no known name for these heroic agents, all we know as that they go by numbers instead of names.” There was a sudden realization that rang from Agent 2, who stood next to 1, as they noticed something off by Shiver’s presentation. Not something, but multiple things.

First, it was the mention of their group in the first place; there had been no alert or consideration of telling Squidbeak beforehand of the announcement of their group. That is something unlike for Deep Cut to do, as even if they didn’t explicitly tell Squidbeak they would have mentioned it due to how much they chatted and how easily information can slip from their lips. Second, Frye and Big Man couldn’t face the camera as Shiver spoke, and at times Shiver would glance off themselves; there was something inside them that swirled and bashed in their minds, yelling at them that their actions were wrong. It was shown in the body posture and the silence.

“ I don’t like where this is going… ” 2 murmured to herself, her stare at the monitor turning into a glare; a question popping into her head and ‘What ifs’ growing like a storm that wouldn’t leave her alone until an answer was reached. Unlike 2, 1 beamed as she clasped her hands together, “ I love it! Our group is finally getting the recognition that it deserves. Gramps and Cap’t are going to be so proud. ” 2 gave 1 a side glance, though said nothing in return to her comment. Instead, she turned her attention back to the big screen, making sure that they were both hidden.

“ Agent 3, who also goes by Neo 3, the young inkling accompanied by their small fry that they have named ‘Little Buddy’, ” As Shiver began to read off names of the agents a picture of them was shown in the monitor, “ 4, an older inkling who’s status as a full member of the group is in question but is often seen carrying modified dualies. 8, an Inkopolis octoling residence who’s been seen working nights or shifts at Grizoco. Agent 7, a newer employment wise yet older age wise sealing. Lastly, their Captain, old Agent 3, who’s not been seen many times around Inkopolis or Splatville. ” As they finished reading the teleprompter in front of them, Shiver looked down at the ground; they were aware, as the other idols were, that said agents were most likely looking at them right now… and they couldn’t be more shameful of themselves.

“ Other agents may be working with those who are unknown. Police have not deemed them a threat, yet if you happen to see them they do employ you to report your sighting, so these agents can be questioned; They might have information on the current situation. ” Shiver paused, taking a moment to breathe after ratting out some of their friends and boss. Sitting next to Shiver, Frye could tell that they were hesitant to continue the splatcast.

In which Frye took over so they didn’t have to, “ Inkopolis Square is under an emergency evacuation order. All Octolings, Inklings, Jellyfish, and other sealings are being ordered to leave the Square at once and take refuge in another city for the time being. That’s all the news we have for Splitsville and Inkopolis, remain safe sealings. ”

There was no usual “Catch you later!” outro for the Splatcast, instead it ended with a bright red screen with the warning, “ All Inkopolis Square residents and citizens, please evacuate the city. ”, written in bold black letters under a warning symbol.

The silence was thick, needing more than a butter knife to be able to cut it, and was shared with all the cities as most sealings could only stare at the monitor; unsure what to do with themselves at this moment in time. It was like a hurricane, or a natural disaster, had been blasted in their face, saying their homes, cities, friends, and family were all in trouble and could possibly be destroyed; actually, it wasn't like that, it was exactly that minus the weather-aspect of all of this. They didn't fully know what was happening or what could happen.

Even the agents had stood still for a moment, none in current life-threatening danger, with wide eyes. They were all unsure what to think or what to do, what would happen to their group, themselves, or their fellow agents with this warrant out for them. They had been pushed between a rock and a hard place, surrounded in enemy ink with guns pointed at all sides of them. If they continued their job there would be a chance that they’d be taken in and questioned, if they didn’t… who knows what would happen to all the citizens of Inkopolis, Splatville, and the other surrounding cities.

“ We need to get to Cap’t and Gramps. ” 2 broke the choking silence, slowly turning her attention towards her sister; who just continued to stare at the bright red screen with small pupils, horror lacing her eyes and strangling her. All 1 could manage to do was nod before 2 took her hand and swiftly made their escape before they had been spotted by any unwanted, prying eyes.

As they left, 1 mustered all the courage she could to break the tight bonds of horror shackled around her to send an alert to all the Agent’s headset; alerted everyone to come back to Alterna for an urgent meeting or before the public or police saw them.

You were in the Deepsea Metro for the longest time.

You were put through the process of sanitization. To say it wasn't grueling would, well... just be a lie.

Now you ride the trains, searching desperately for something... anything...

Little did you know, you would get that.

The train stopped at the central station. You stepped off the train and wandered around like you always do.

You stepped over to the lockers. You searched through these everytime, just to see if anything new was there. It's not like anyone was using them. Hell, the last one that was opened was the 8 one. And even then, nothing was there.

You opened Lockers 1 and 2. Nothing. As per usual... but then you got to Locker 3... you opened it up- and there was a bottle with a paper inside. And next to it, a paper and pen.

That was... odd. What was this all about?

You uncork the bottle and read what's inside.

"Hello, pen pal! My name is Big Man! I've sent this out to make a new friend, and you are it! Tell me about yourself! I'm sure we'll be great friends!"

"Pen pal?" You thought to yourself. It's not like you had anything better to do.

So, you write some stuff down. Some facts about yourself... that you could remember at least.

You just... place the bottle in with your written letter now. You held onto the pen of course.

You had no idea if this was even gonna... WORK or not.

You check the locker again and- the bottle was back! Recorked and everything, with a new sheet of paper!

You just made yourself a pen pal, how great!

Timeskip happens, and you two decide to meet up. Big Man told you about a great place called Splatsville.

So when the train arrived to the station, you couldn't help but feel nervous.

You walk out of the station, hood covering your face.

The first thing you see is Big Man, standing with Shiver and Frye. He was carrying a huge sign that says "HELLO Y/N!!"

You nervously take down your hood and wave a little.

Big Man gasps and runs over to you. Shiver and Frye were a bit shocked and had to follow him!

"Ay, ay? (Are you Y/N?)"

You give a simple nod. You were, in fact, Y/N-

Big Man drops the sign and immediately wraps you in a hug.

"Ay, ay!!! (It's so good to finally meet you in person!!!)"

You just nervously laugh and wrap your arms around Big Man.

Well as best as you can anyway

He decides to take you all around Splatsville!

ESPECIALLY BARNACLE & DIME.

You tried surface food for the first time...

And it was delicious.

"Ay? (How is it?)"

He then watches as you begin to eat more quickly.

He laughs. Not because it was weird, but because it was nice to see you enjoying yourself.

"Ay, ay! (I'll take that as good!)"

Sadly, your day had to come to an end. You went back to the station, where the train was waiting for you.

Big Man was there with you. He didn't want to see you go.

"Ay... ay? (Will I see you again... Y/N?)"

You look back at him. That's when you felt a feeling you hadn't felt in awhile.

You walked up to him, holding his fin with your hand.

"I will. I promise."

Big Man gasps... that was the first time you'd spoken.

You give a gentle smirk, and let go of his fin and board the train.

...Safe to say you both caught feelings for one another.

This wouldn't be the last time you would hang out with Big Man.

After all that searching...

You finally found that something you were looking for.

✦ — About a month ago

When you and Big Man started dating, every "Ay" that came out of his mouth would make you as red as his ink color. Everything he gave to you and said it reminded him of you would send you into overload. You just couldn't handle it; he was so unintentionally charming!

However, at the time, this was much to Big Man's dismay. He thought he was upsetting you with what he said. Even simple compliments about your outfit being cute or how nice your tentacles looked that day could send you into a huge spiral. At the time, he thought that was just genuine discomfort. So he attempted to stop.

He would stop and hesitate every time he wanted to do something nice in fear that you just.. didn't like it. You eventually came to notice your lack of flusteredness one morning.

And then you two had a talk.

You explained to him, on one faithful night of cuddling in bed, that you handled love differently. Gestures of affection, whether extravagant or simple, were always so much to you. Hell, you were fighting the urge to start absolutely cheesing as you were cuddling right now! But he seemed to understand.

And understand he did.

✦ — Present Day

You sat down on the bench outside the park gates and glanced at the time on your phone. 1:12 P.M.

You were early to your date with Big Man as you didn't want to be late; it was just a simple park date, nothing too over-the-top. You hoped everything would go as you planned it.

After about three, maybe four minutes, Big Man showed up. Seems like he didn't want to be late, too. He was wearing square-frame glasses and a red tie. You smiled at his rather formal appearance.

Big Man made his way toward you and greeted you. Before you could greet him back, he handed you a bouquet of flowers.

"Ay, ay. (These,)" he was making sure the flowers looked okay, "(are for you.)" You felt your cheeks get hot as your gazed averted to the flowers and back to him. You felt a smile build on your face as you gave him a large hug. You proceeded to whisper-shout absolute gibberish on his shoulder. (Did he even have shoulders?)

He wrapped his "arms" around you and grinned. "Ay! (Aha! I'm glad you like them!) You pulled away from the hug and giggled a bit, trying to calm down (but failing). Big Man laughed a little too, but then he stopped. He looked like he was pondering something, but he was still smirking.

You tilted your head and returned his quizzical look. "Is.. is there something wrong?" You asked, leaning in just a bit. "Do I have something on my face?"

And then the trap sprung.

He smiled wider before abruptly leaning forward and kissing you on the mouth. You backed up a bit and softly brought a hand to your lips. You were wide-eyed, understandably so.

"Ay ay. (It was what wasn't on your face.)" He gestured to himself. "Ay.. ay ay. (A kiss.. from yours truly.) You covered your face with your hands, blushed wildly, and spun away from him for a moment. You couldn't even form proper words, just silly giggles.

After taking a moment to collect yourself, you spun around in a burst of energy and took his "hand", tugging him toward the entrance. "A-ay?! W-what are you doing?!)"

You laughed out loud but didn't answer his question. You didn't even know where you were going yourself. I mean, how could you? You were still absolutely dying from those flowers he gifted you. Your brain was practically fried. And that kiss?! You definitely need an ambulance. You were lovesick, and he was your only cure.

Water War (Sebek x GN!Reader)

“Oh c’mon, Sebek!” Ace groaned. “Quit acting like you’re better than us.”

“I will not partake in your childish games,” Sebek said, arms crossed over his bare chest. For once he wasn’t yelling, but his voice was still loud and stern. “Do you humans really have no other way to entertain yourself?” 

“It’s a water fight, Sebek!” Ace said as he gestured to the sea with his water gun. “Everyone does it, even adults. I’m sure Lilia’s been in one or two.” 

“Nonsense!” Sebek’s eyebrows furrowed at the very notion. “Master Vanrouge would never play such foolish games.” 

“He literally played in the Splatoon tournament last night.”

“Yes,” Sebek smirked, “to show you humans what superior skill the fae possess. How could you ever hope to pose a challenge in any battle if you are not led by example?” 

Ace quirked an eyebrow. “He lost, like, twice against Idia.”

“A gracious teacher,” Sebek replied, “letting such frail humans have hope.” 

Epel, who stood beside Deuce a short distance from Sebek and Ace, leaned over and whispered to the blue-headed boy. “How far up his own ass do ya think Sebek is?” 

For once, Deuce did not defend Sebek - he simply shrugged. Jack sighed and shook his head, his own water gun slung over his shoulder as he called out to Ace. “Ace, if he doesn’t want to play, he don’t have to. C’mon, let’s get started.” 

Ace glanced at the group over his shoulder: Deuce, Jack, Epel, Ortho, and you, water guns in hand, stared back. He sighed and rolled his eyes before he looked back at Sebek. “Fine, be that way. Your loss.” 

Sebek scoffed in amusement as Ace began to walk away. “Go and play your silly games; I will supervise from afar.” 

“Supervise what?” Epel asked. “If we get water in our eyes? Cry foul if we dunk a man underwater?” 

“To make sure you do not make trouble,” Sebek replied, smirk now gone from his face. It seemed he respected Epel more than Ace…kind of understandable. “To do so in Lord Malleus’s presence would sully his reputation.” 

Deuce piped up as he looked around. “He’s not even here?” 

“As long as Lord Malleus graces this beach, he leads all who tread on the same sand by example. It would be folly for such kindness to be unrepaid by you six running about like wild animals in a feeding frenzy.” 

“Says the crocodile who’s too chicken to enter the water,” Ace mumbled as he filled his water gun. 

Sebeke’s eyes widened, voice now raised to a high volume. “What did you say?!” 

Ace paused at the man’s question. A wickedly devious grin spread across his face…oh no. He turned around to face Sebek and shrugged. “I mean, all you’re going to do if we act like ‘wild animals’ is yell and scream for us to stop. Sounds to me like you’re too scared to get in the water.” 

“That is a vicious lie!” Sebek protested, hands now balled into fists at his side. He looked like he might pitch a tantrum. “I am not afraid of the water. Why, I’ve swam in it since I was a babe!” 

“Not something as big as the sea though.” Ace seemed to grow more devious as Sebek grew more angry. His voice mocked baby talk as he continued, “What’s wrong, Sebby? Is the big boy afraid of the deep, dark water? Awww~”

“Utter nonsense!” Sebek’s face was tinged red from anger now, pupils beginning to form slits. 

“Really?” Ace pointed towards the sole water gun left on the sand, lonely beside the rest of your things. “Then prove it.”

Oh, he certainly would. Sebek ran over and grabbed the water gun before he made a beeline for the water. The moment he was calf-deep in the waves, he dunked the water gun. When he brought it back up, you noticed the cap keeping the fill hole closed was still on. Just as Sebek became frustrated by the water gun’s lack of liquid ammunition, you walked over to him and gently placed your hand on his wrist. “You gotta take this off first,” you said. With a small tug, the cap came off. 

Sebek stared at the now opened hole for a moment; you weren’t sure if he was frustrated with the water gun, or himself for not knowing. You might never know, for all you got in return was a quiet, yet level, “Thank you.” You watched as he plunged the water gun back into the sea. When you saw its chamber filled with water when he brought it back up, you smiled and walked back to your original position. 

“So, are we goin’ solo or dividin’ into teams?” Epel asked. 

“I would say teams,” Deuce spoke, “but we’re at an uneven number of people now.” 

“Deuce is correct,” Ortho reaffirmed with a nod of his head. “We have seven friends playing now - that is not a number divisible by two. Seven is not divisible by any feasible number.” 

“I guess we’re on our own then,” Jack said. 

“And don’t use magic!” you piped up. “That’s cheating - cheating, Ace!” 

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Ace said - an obvious lie with that grin on his face. Ace pulled the trigger on his gun and the water squirted out of the front nozzle. Once he, you, and everyone else did the same, Ace laid out the rules…or lack thereof. “Every man for himself. Just don’t go too far out to sea; I paid good money for these.” 

“Good luck, everyone.” Even though you were about to start your water war, that sweetness of Deuce’s showed through. 

“Do me a favor, Deuce.” Epel nudged him as he grinned. “Don’t be that nice when yur ‘bout to beat ass.” 

With that, you each walked in opposite directions. All of you walked twenty paces away from each other, then turned back around. The moment you all turned, Ace let out a loud, “Go!” 

And thus your water war began…for most of you. As you trudged through the seawater as fast as you could on a search for your next target, you spotted Sebek fiddling with his water gun. He shook it this way and that, clearly irritated with the little toy. You looked around to see where the others were: It seemed Ace was, of course, firing on Deuce, while Epel and Ortho were trying to gang up on Jack. Good, you had time to help Sebek. You slowly approached Sebek; he flinched upon your arrival, clearly expecting an attack. You raised your hands, finger off the trigger, in a show of peace. 

“Is something wrong with yours?” you asked. 

Sebek’s sigh nearly came out as a hiss. “Yes. This faulty toy is broken - typical for flimsy human contraptions.” 

“Let me see it.” You held out your hand and he placed the toy in your open palm. You turned it this way and that, then finally found the culprit: the plastic trigger. It was slightly ascue from its usual track, which prevented it from pushing the water out of the nozzle. You fiddled with the piece for a few seconds, and with a small tug downwards it came loose. You pointed it down at the water and pressed it - water finally released from the gun. You smiled and offered the water gun back to him, “Here you go, it’s fixed now.” 

Sebek, like you had before, turned the water gun around in his hand. “What was wrong with it?” 

You pointed to the trigger, “The trigger was off its track - sometimes it’ll happen. If it ever feels stiff or it won’t move at all, and if water isn’t coming out of the nozzle, that’s probably why.” 

Sebek let out a small ‘hmph’, seemingly in both understanding and amusement. His smile was mocking as he looked at the water toy. “As I said, human toys are so flimsy.” 

“You’re not wrong,” you giggled. 

Before you could walk away from Sebek and give each other time to become enemies once more, you heard someone approaching you from behind. You and Sebek both turned to see Ace, hand on his hip as he smirked at you both. “I thought we said no teams? And we’re the ones being troublesome, Sebek?” 

“We aren’t a team,” you said. “I was just helping Sebek with-” 

Ace pointed his water gun at you, finger already pulling the trigger. “Save it for the loser’s dinner.” 

Before the stream of water could touch your skin, you were yanked out of the way. The air was knocked from your lungs as you slammed into Sebek’s side, your mind distantly registering his arm around your waist. You looked up at Sebek, who was already shooting water in Ace’s direction. Sebek…had saved you. 

“Well, aren’t you the knight in shining armor?” Ace mocked. With a speed you didn’t know he had, you watched Ace race through the water towards you both. Sebek glanced at you and then Ace in quick succession, then tossed you into the water. You yelped before you went under, but you didn’t stay submerged for long. Your hands hit the sand as you landed, and you used that leverage to lift yourself back up above the water. As you took in a lungful of air, you blinked the droplets of water away from your vision. When your vision cleared, you saw Sebek struggling with Ace, gun now knocked from his hand. 

Within seconds, Sebek fell back and landed on his butt. The shallow water rose just above his abdomen, knees just breaking the surface. Ace stood a few feet away from him, shit-eating grin plastered on his face as he aimed the pump water gun at Sebek’s face. You hadn’t noticed he’d switched water guns; before he confronted you and Sebek, he’d had a simple pistol like you. Could he have hidden it for himself? What an asshole! 

“What’s the matter, Sebek?” Ace laughed. “I thought such weak humans couldn’t defeat fae like you.”

“This is not real combat!” Sebek protested, trying to defend himself. “And did you not hear what [y/n]-”

“As I said,” Ace cocked the water gun, ready to fire, “save it for the loser’s dinner.” 

You were ready to watch Sebek as he got blasted with the cold, salty water, which would soak his face to the bone. Instead, a slow, steady stream of water dribbled onto Sebek’s forehead. It dribbled down along his face, right between his wide eyes, and dripped off his chin. Ace’s laugh was near hysterical as he watched the shock wash across the half-fae’s face.

“I got you so good!” Ace’s little assault on Sebek ceased as he hunched over, hands now rested on his knees as he continued to laugh. “You looked so scared, man! I’ll never let you live tha-”

As Ace lifted his head, you could see his body go rigid. His laugh halted in his throat; it went so quiet so quickly that you noticed the others had stopped their own aquatic assaults on each other. Your attention then turned to Sebek himself - and you saw why Ace went so quiet. Sebek’s expression was of a quiet rage, pupils now turned to lizard-like slits. You knew he must be embarrassed, humiliated, angry - yet all you saw in his eyes was the want for vengeance.

The moment Sebek began to bolt up out of the water, Ace took off running. Well, as fast as he could in the water, that is. Though he was still pretty fast, the weight of the sea slowed his escape. You watched as Sebek slowly gained on him, determination rising the closer he came to grabbing his prey. Then, just as he was about to grab the redhead, Ace stepped out of the way and put his leg out in front of Sebek. The man fell into the water with a loud, wet slap. A small echo of ‘oooo’s came from the many mouths of the people who watched the chase go down. You noticed that even Floyd had turned his attention to the whole debacle. 

As Ace swam out into deeper water, you began to grow worried for Sebek. It’d been almost a minute and he still hadn’t resurfaced. You supposed Jack and Deuce shared your mindset, as you saw them swiftly approach the spot where Sebek had fallen. You began to stand up, about to call out to Ace and demand he come help - and then he screamed. It was the loudest, most shrill scream you’d ever heard from him. It quickly cut off as he was yanked below the water, his panicked expression the last you saw of him. Once again, everyone stopped what they were doing to see what had happened. 

Ace crested the surface seconds later, a small distance away from where you’d last seen him. He frantically swam towards shore, his screams filled with apologies and pleas for mercy. You didn’t know who they were directed to until another face emerged from the waves. Though you could only see the upper half of the head, you recognized that spiky green hair and piercing slit eyes from anywhere. What took you off guard was just how fast Sebek swam through the water. It was so swift, so effortless - it was as though he were gliding. You never knew he could swim so fast! 

“Woooah!” Floyd cheered. “Look at Crocodile go!” 

You didn’t have time to admire Sebek’s skill and physique for long. You quickly scrambled from your spot on the water and ran with your friends to shore, where Ace was heading. This was a water war: no actual massacres allowed.

It has been quite a while since you joined deep cut. In this span of time, you were also growing quite close with Shiver! No, EXTREMELY close. Close to the point where she would hang around you 24/7, Take you on rides with her "Master Mega", and be quite... Possessive of you sometimes.

Well, a few months ago, you went and had a collaboration with another idol. You didn't tell any of the deep cut members, as you thought that it wasn't that big of a deal, nor that they would be mad.

Once they found out, Frye and Big man didn't have such a problem with it, Shiver, on the other hand... Was pissed. Why would you go and do that behind her back? Didn't you know that she HAD to approve of it first?!

In private, she kept you on all fours, your hands trembling and winching in pain, as she hit your backside with her fan, while there was a leash on your neck.

"You go ahead and collab with someone else... Worse, behind my back. Why don't you go be their group idol then? Hm?"

She covered her forehead with her fan dramatically "So dumb. Better prep yourself up."

"Eek... I'm sorry!"

"Oh, NOW you're sorry?"

"Tell me then: why would you betray my trust like that?"

"They were being really nice about it and... I didn't think it would be that big of a deal..."

"Because they were nice...?" She tried to keep her cool.

"When you're mine, you ask for MY permission first when doing something like that, especially with an unknown person."

"You wouldn't treat Frye like this if she did that..."

"Ugh! That's not the point!" She smacked you again with her fan.
