my fav byzantine fact is when they would destroy everything that had to do with pagan religion and even killed people who weren't christian <3
Did you forget that Polytheists oppressed, persecuted and killed Christians first, for THREE HUNDRED years.
Hiding in the catacombs, getting murdered, honoring the Christian martyrs... you think Christians did these things as a hobby? 😂In the Roman Empire policy towards Christians was that they would be punished if they refused to worship the emperor and the gods. Christians were actively forced to worship gods they didn't want to worship. By the Polytheists.
Sorry to offend your little uwu cute ancient polytheists but 1) they did bride kidnappings 2) they threw "deformed" kids off cliffs 3) religious stories and depictions of rape were A Thing, endorsing a Rape Culture in many ways (I had a whole post with scientific papers about that) 4) pederasty (with young boys!) existed 5) gay men were literally called "those who drag shame with them" 6) cheating was socially acceptable for Greek men while the less the woman came out of her house, the better 7) slaves were far lesser than them compared to when Christianity came 8) oh and... THEY KILLED PEOPLE WHO WEREN'T POLYTHEISTS. Aka the Christians.
Don't get me wrong, persecution of any type is abominable. I want people to let other people worship in peace. I just listed all the above because you seem to ignore there was great hostility between Polytheists and Christians (which ultimately led to many deaths) for a reason. And the Polytheists started it. The first religious persecution ever in the Helladic area was that of Christians. By the Polytheists.
My point is....Before you completely cancel another group for doing something, maybe consider if "your" group has done it too, and maybe... did it first? Christianity has a long list of bad things but Hellenic Polytheism has a grim past, too, filled with the same crimes if not some more. There was a reason people were becoming Christians in droves*. Underprivileged groups finally saw the prospect of a better life compared to the Polytheistic faiths they were in. The first European to get baptized was a Greek young woman.
*It's estimated that there were fewer than 10,000 Christians in the year 100. Christianity grew to about 200,000 by the year 200, and then to almost 2 million by 250.
I said that I hate that people were killed for their faith (!!!), and this goes for Polytheists too (!!!). I also detest any destroying of buildings and manuscripts (which indeed happened). But, in this case, what would you like me to do??? Start beef with the long-dead Leonid dynasty or something? 😂 Which dynasty do you want me to spank? Tell me and I'll dig them uuup
Okay, hear me out... I will throw away the whole of the Byzantine Empire for the Polytheists it killed if you throw the whole Roman world away for the Christians it killed. Let's cancel EVERY culture for killing Polytheists, Hebrews, Christians, Zoroastrians and Muslims. (note: Persecution of Christianity is still going on in some countries, and it never stopped) Yes?
Also, no, Christians did not destroy everything related to Polytheism. Did you seriously come to my asks with the knowledge of a bitter scorned 16 y/o who read one single sentence from their history book?
The reason ancient Hellenic Epics and other classic works have survived is mainly that Christian Hellenes passed them down and copied them in their libraries and monasteries. The Greeks/and Eastern Romans they were actively reading and discussing the ancient works, and based their own research and philosophy on them. Arabs in the middle ages translated tons of still-existing (!) ancient manuscripts from Greek to their language. The reason Europe remembered these works, too, was the Hellenes who brought the still-existing (!) ancient manuscripts with them in the freaking 15th century to Europe after escaping Constantinople.

Heyy may I ask which documentaries on various club scenes you've been watching? Really interested in the topic :)
Hey, for sure! I'll link them all. Some of these are about clubbing, and some are more about electronic music, but understanding electronic music is essential for understanding clubbing. So I'm like really obsessed with the Hacienda, which was this big Manchester nightclub in the 80s during the Madchester era, acid house boom. You got this BBC documentary (The Hacienda - The Club that Shook Britain) and also a 1990 doc on Madchester that's a nice little introduction. One of my favourite youtube channels is Trash Theory, they did a great video on Madchester and also New Order's Blue Monday, which is relevant bc New Order basically financed the club so maybe that'll interest you as well. There's also Peter Hook's book about it that I actually still haven't read but it's next up on my to read list. I would also recommend the movie 24 Hour Party People from 2002 that I really love. I'm linking everything I've seen, some acid house, raving, disco, house, techno etc. docs, video essays, other videos and so on. I think a good start, and then from here you'll find more stuff :)
Everybody In The Place: An Incomplete History Of Britain 1984-1992 by Jeremy Deller
The Chemical Generation
Acid House 1988
The Summer Of Rave 1989
Trailblazers: Acid House
Dance Britannia - Acid House
BBC Everyman - E is for Ecstasy - Rave Documentary 1992
The Rave Years - With Keith Flint & Richard Russell
I Was There When House Took Over the World
How House Music Was Born
Pump up the volume: A history of House music
Maestro Documentary - The History of the Paradise Garage
What is House? An Insider's Look at Dance Music - 1991
The Story of When House Music Went Global
When Disco Ruled the World BBC
When Disco Ruled the World VH1
Modulations - Cinema for the Ear
Better Days: The Story of UK Rave
Synth Britannia
We call it techno! A documentary about Germany’s early Techno scene and culture
Sound of Berlin Documentary
Sub Berlin - The Story of Tresor
And then there's also a bunch of real footage you can find on youtube by just typing 80s clubbing or sth like that and it's just so fun.

After reading the first of the Books, Vlad and Ji Ho called over the others to the bridge and wer just about to tell them how they felt about it... ... when they got a message and some tasks from time traveler Emit Relevart. There seem to be some uproars about vanished objects (I wonder if this has sth to do with the clutter objects that have been untraceable ^^') The Boys felt obliged to help, that book isn't going to run away and Vlad is quite happy about the delay, he's worried how Jack will feel about seeing Kiyoshi and Jeb Conny and Jett making out...
Sai did some research and they were able to solve the first tasks! (Editor's Notes: Without logging to a new save! Can you imagine? Knocking on wood it stays like that ö.ö)
Tumblr media
Next task was to dig out a time capsule out of a pile of rocks. Here, in the middle of nowhere... Luckily they found an asteroid fild along their way and stopped the engines. Jack and Vlad volunteered to jump in their space suits and pay that asteroid a visit ö.Ö'
Tumblr media
Ji Ho: "Please be careful." Jack: "Promised. I'll bring him back in one piece." Kiyoshi doesn't look happy about this adverture either...
Tumblr media
Jack took some cool selfies and Vlad showed Ji Ho how they'd stay in contact over an app.
Tumblr media
Vlad and Jack stepped into the airlock and made their way over to the asteroid.
Tumblr media
Right into the little cave inside.
Tumblr media
Ji Ho was stunned: "They are so cool." Sai, Jeb and Kiyoshi are more on the worried side, but they agreed.
Tumblr media
(Editor's note: This really was cool! These screenshots are not edited. There is this endless black vastness around, the ship and the asteroid field, so awesome. I've built this so many years ago (2019!) and it's still so cool.)
Tumblr media
They made it back with the time capsule and a few samples for Jeb. It went a bit wild though, when they accused each other of being a time traveler (or Dina Caliente? It is even possible that they are time travelers, according to their history, they appeared on the eve Bella Goth vanished? And they even have aliens in their bloodline! Huh ö.ö')
Tumblr media
The next task was to mull this all over in the tub/shower. Jack got distracted as always...
Tumblr media
And Vlad was occupied with thoughts about Ji Ho. And that he liked the book about Conny and Jett so much... But still, he wanted him. Later. To try out things they'd seen in the book?
Tumblr media
When everything was set with the time travel tasks, they met again at the bridge. Vlad tried to talk some sense into Jack, but he was determined to read the book. But Vlad insisted they should all read it here - together. So if there were any insecurities, they could talk it out.
Tumblr media
Jeb and Jack set up a little corner where they could sit and read together, but Jack decided to sit next to Ji Ho. Seems the others would read the book later... Jack was stunned how alike Jeb and Kiyoshi and Jett and Conny looked: "Wow - Jett has a beast down in his pants, just like you, Jeb!" Saiwa: "Omg, Jack!" Jack: "But Jett didn't hurt Conny! That's good news, right?" Saiwa: "Do not spoil!" Jack: "Sorry! It's just so weird seeing this. I mean, it's very clear they are not Kiyoshi and Jeb. That's a relief. Don't worry about me. Ah, I can't wait to read the other books! We should look out for them on our next stop. I wonder with whom Jet ends up. Hondo mentioned books about Jino and Master Ren and Conny and Val. Everything is possible! Imagine Jet and the Night Shadow! Hahaha" (Jet=Jack's look-alike and the Night Shadow is Sai's ^^') Saiwa: "Omg! Please don't let this come true!"
Tumblr media
After Jeb, Sai, Jack and Kiyoshi read the book, they went back to their quarters and Ji Ho and Vlad stayed at the bridge and hoped they would take it well. No need to worry though.
Kiyoshi. "You sure you're fine with this?" Jack: "I am. I'm going to be honest, it stabbed in some of the old wounds. But that was the pre version of me. You know how much we've changed. And our relationship, hm? I can fully accept our fated mates thing. I feel totally safe with you, mate." Kiyoshi: "And I still wish you wouldn't call it like this ^^' " Jack: "'Fated mates thing'? But we are fated mates, and we are doing things!"
Tumblr media
Jack: "You are going to do things to me, right?" Kiyoshi: "I so will." ... Jack: "So, Jett was the top, did you notice?" Kiyoshi: "Uhm, yes?" Jack: "We - never talked about this. Is this maybe something you want too? Because... I don't know if I could top you. I like you being my Alpha." Kiyoshi: "I like it too, don't worry, hm? I wouldn't want it any other way." Jack: "Make me yours, then?" Kiyoshi kissed him hungrily. That was all the answer Jack needed. (More about who tops whom and why -> here (below the cut))
Tumblr media
Jack: "I love you." Kiyoshi: "I know." Skully: "Close that door!"
Tumblr media
When Sai came out of the bath, he noticed the box with Kiyoshi's present on the nightstand. Sai: "Where does this come from now? Did... did you put it there?" Jeb: "No. What is it?" Sai decided it was time for the truth: "Kiyoshi gave it to me before we left Chestnut Ridge. It's - uhm... a wand and polish..." Jeb: "Why would he give you a wand? You can't use wands. You're not a spellcaster." Sai: "Oh, I can pretty use this wand. It's... eh - used to prepare me. For your wand, you know?" Jeb: "My wand? What... ohhhh ö.ö' "
Tumblr media
Sai: "I already played with the toys from the monthly boxes from Ye Olde Magick Shoppe. It didn't hurt. We could play together? Jett is built like you and he didn't hurt Conny. Let's try at least. Please?" Jeb: "So that was what you were doing in the tub?" Sai blushed: "Yes. I'm sorry." Jeb: "Don't. Don't be sorry. I should be - for not being able to give you what you need..." Sai: "Let's not go down that road again and figuring who is not worth to be with the other. We've gone past that, hm? Come, let's play. We are going to use lots of polish and go slow. And if it hurts, we stop." Sai kissed Jeb's neck, licked and sucked a bit. Jeb hissed: "Vanië..." And then they played with the wand - and it didn't hurt.
Tumblr media
'Imagine there's no heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us, only sky
Imagine all the people Livin' for today Ah
You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one'

Chapter 19: Pearls before Swine
-Pigsy started off the chapter with a long poem about his backstory, full of internal alchemy jargons that were mostly explained in the footnotes. So, instead of going into details, I'm just gonna talk about the general idea of "Reversal" in internal alchemy, namely, the reversal from Houtian("Post-Heaven") to Xiantian("Pre-Heaven").
Tumblr media
-The trigram on the left of this picture is the Xiantian Trigram, aka Fuxi's Trigram, while the one on the right, the Houtian Trigram, aka King Wen's Trigram. Notice how in the former, the north and south position is occupied by Qian and Kun (Heaven and Earth), while in the latter, it's Li and Kan (Fire and Water)?
-Well, according to internal alchemy theory, the "Qian" of the Xiantian Trigram represents the primodial state of human existence, where the Spiritual Mind(元神) and Vital Energy(元气, or Qi) are one. Separated after birth, they morph into the "Li" and "Kan" of the Houtian Trigram, after the middle "⚊" in "☰", representing Vital Energy, switches place with the middle "⚋" in "☷" and causes the Spiritual Mind to become Yin-aligned.
Tumblr media
-Cultivation is supposed to reverse the Li-Kan of Houtian back to the Qian-Kun of Xiantian through the fusing of the Spiritual Mind and Vital Energy, granting practitioners immortality in the process. Thus, the allusion to the "Li-dragon" and "Kan-tiger" in the poem.
-On a tangentially related note, according to the Book of Changes(周易), the Kan trigram is represented by the pig, which is but another example of the long-lasting tradition of associating pigs with the Water element in ancient Chinese culture.
-Fast forward to Pigsy officially joining the group: his religious name, Zhu Eight Rules, could be a reference to the 8 Buddhist prohibitions against killing, lying, stealing, sexual debauchery, indulgence in luxury, drinking, dancing and music, and eating out of regular hours.
-However, if we look at the sentence before that, Tripitaka states that Pigsy had "not eaten the five forbidden viands and the three undesirable foods"(五荤三厌). The first 5 refers to the Buddhist dietry restriction against five sorts of pungent vegetables, while the 3 undesirable foods are Daoist prohibitions against the consumption of wild geese, dogs, and fish/turtle.
-Personal story—I first read the full JTTW novel while hospitalized, and still vividly remembered how the book I borrowed from the nurse happened to be missing several pages in the Crow's Nest Master section. Anyways, who is this guy that popped out of nowhere just to give Tripitaka the Heart Sutra and make digs at his disciples?
-He appeared to be an amalgation of two figures:
1) The "Bird's Nest Master" recorded in the Buddhist history compendium 五灯会元, who lived atop a pine tree in Hang Zhou and was visited by the famous poet Bai Juyi. After Bai voiced some rather reasonable safety concerns about the whole "living on a tree" thing, he retorted that the poet was in an even more dangerous situation, sth sth being an official of the court is like amidst flames sth.
2) The filthy, sickly man who appeared in Xuanzang's biography, 大慈恩寺三藏法师传, and taught him the Heart Sutra in return for the monk's kindness, which would later ward him from demons and ghosts during the crossing of the desert.
-It's kinda fun to imagine him as an actual cultivated crow, working to attain Buddhahood, tho.

2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 12, 14, 18, 20, 22 for lotr from the violence ask meme 😈
OK i have answered 2 already but lets do this thing fuck yea (thank uuuuuuuuuu!!!!!)
3) screenshot or description of the worst take you’ve seen on tumblr
look its not really a "take" but the amount of people who just post variations of "I don't like Boromir, he's the worst" IN THE BOROMIR TAG is genuinely insane to me. like have ur (incorrect) opinion but keep it out of the tag worstie
7) what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?
uhhhh no one thank the gods. ive always disliked Denethor Because of canon. but i will say stumbling across the file index of an old LotR fansite + clicking on files w/ no preview only to find graphics thirsting over Denethor did cause massive psychic damage lmao
8) common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about
idk 😭 i dont interact w/ the broader fandom really. i do find the way ppl reduce Pippin to Just a joke character in fanon insufferable tho
9) worst part of canon
BOOK!FARAMIR + HIS MIDDLEMEN SHTICK MY WORSTIE.
also ngl i do find the Aragorn/Arwen romance....... Weird. like I'm far from averse to "love at first sight" so long as it comes with the recognition that it's really more infatuation + true love takes work. and there's the fact Aragorn fell head over heels for an image of Lúthien, and Arwen's heart did not turn towards him until Galadriel dressed him up in elven finery. not to mention she was "not yet weary of her days" when Aragorn dies + has to die "whether I will or I nill" like she. wastes away? slowly alone in Lothlórien.
like idk [Aragorn kinnie voice] that's my sister, man but all that aside I do think.. Arwen deserved better? I like that the movies made her more active + I do wish she'd actually been there at Helm's Deep bc it would've been fun to see her and Éowyn bond but yeah. the vibes were off with that whole situation imho
12) the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them
huh. does Théodred count? i feel like he's kind of a blank slate so fandom can just kinda run wild with him but i do genuinely enjoy writing him + find that there are solid implications for at least a friendship between him + Boromir (if not more). i mean, Boromir got a Rohirric shield from someone
14) that one thing you see in fics all the time
ok th implication here bein its sth that bothers me which thankfully i pretty much only read Aramir or Faramir/Éomer fics soooo theres not much??
i think the only things that RLLY get to me + they aren't THAT popular trope-wise (or ive been rlly good at avoiding them lmao) are fics that 1) make Boromir overly aggressive or 2) completely woobify Faramir
+ tbh the Faramir one bothers me more actually. that is a grown ass man and captain of the rangers of Ithilien.....................
18) it’s absolutely criminal that the fandom has been sleeping on…
HRM. again idk :3 <- blissfully not interacting w the broader fandom + only interacting w/ ppl w correct takes on Boromir + Rohan
(tentatively i need to start following more ppl i see some of yall in my notes + i shld follow. sorry im like a nervous dog u need to coax out from under the porch lol)
20) part of canon you found tedious or boring
side-eyeing my copies of the Histories. i need to finish those. eventually.............
22) your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores
ignores?????? nothing i think (thankfully lmao) but i will say there is SO much detail in the films that it makes me INSANE. ik we literally just talked abt this in DMs lmao but i could sit n talk abt LotR costuming for fucking HOURS the films were SO stunning and the clothing alone reveals sooooooo much abt the characters i think its a super underrated vehicle for character analysis :3

I've read all the books and unfortunately no, it's never mentioned that Louis had sex with men- or anything about his sex life as a human in general. There's the one line from the Iwtw when he says that "sex was a pale shadow of killing" that some people interpret as him being a closeted gay man who only had sex with women but i'm not sure, since in the last books Lestat, after finishing having sex, repeats sth similar: that for a vampire sex isn't as satisfying as drinking blood. And since all vampires are panromantic after turning, Louis' human sexuality is largely a mystery haha.
And yeah in the show, he was obviously sexually experienced but not emotionally, Lestat was the first man with whom he allowed himself to be emotionally intimate with and lose control, a lot of people forget that they were best friends for months and I think that's way more special than Lestat taking his imagined virginity hahaha.
(x)
I've read all the books and unfortunately no, it's never mentioned that Louis had sex with men- or anything about his sex life as a human in general.

Hahah, thank you for letting me know though! It's been a minute since I read IWTV, so I'd forgotten that section, and I've only read up to Memnoch, although who knows, that might change soon ;-)
It's interesting that the show would make him so explicitly gay in a way the books didn't, but yes! I totally hear you on the emotional intimacy. I so wish we got to see more of that, especially given it seems like they were pretty selective with how they opened up with each other still (particularly given Lestat seems to have revealed so little of his own history to Louis). I'd love to know more about what they talked about and what those earlier chapters of their life (both pre and post Louis' turning) were like.

now with Jay White having left njpw ….. im mourning all the interesting development for his character that they didnt do. It makes me so tired of njpws „longterm booking“ and how it doesnt really work with their big name gaijins cause nobody stays long enough like an Okada or Naito.
since he joined Bullet Club it’s basically been the same plotpoint on repeat with some characters around him getting changed and replaced, and everytime sth happened that had me hoping for bigger development it just .. was the same again.
And i know im not alone with having wanted more out of Jays character, just look at the fan reaction to his WK loss to Ibushi, how that match and the promo afterwards got people to genuinely care for this pathetic asshole, cause of Jamies amazing performance as a broken insecure fucked up dude. Wishing for a faceturn or literally anything that wasnt the same “oh actually im great and im gonna ignore my issues”-thing again.
Over the last 5 years ive seen so many interesting ideas and speculations fans had about what we were shown on screen, but barely any of it actually led anywhere. (the amount of times they could have done an interesting betrayal with interesting fallout is driving me insane, instead they dragged this storyline forward like a corpse till Jay left)
I know that they needed Jay in that role with BC cause it makes them money, but as someone who enjoys wrestling the most cause of the stories: they are not getting me to pay for their product when i constantly have to hold back my excitement over sth cause the chance of it actually leading somewhere satisfying has been so damn low in the last 2-3 years.
from the top of my head: the last njpw storybeats that stayed with me and had me go „god this is why i watch wrestling“ were
Ibushi vs Despe cause of how perfect it was with their history (and that was on accident!! If hiromu wouldnt have been injured we wouldn’t even have gotten that)
the ELP/Robbie single matches saga
pretty much all of Jays big matches, BUT *read the above paragraphs again*
Hiromu and Desperados first BOSJ Final match cause of everything leading up to it and everything in the match - after that they kinda hit the repeating storybeat problem too
double champ Naito.
But also way too many that led nowhere/had immersion breaking ridiculous outcomes (I’ll never be over how dirty they did Kenta with that stupid US title).
Theres small stuff inbetween that i enjoyed, and theres definitely stuff i missed that i might have loved if i would have seen it, which i didnt cause all my issues with their product led me to stop watching 🙃
anyways: i have a toxic love hate relationship with NJPW and all their characters that i like are my ocs now, i took the kids in the divorce

big media roundup (july edition)
hellooo again welcome to my media roundup, where i talk about things i read/watched/played this month! (…and by last month i mean AN ENTIRE MONTH AGO. WOOPS in my defense i got sick [better now]) in july i downloaded tachij2k, which im going to be shilling forever as the best way to read manga on android (apk on github here) this also means that ive been reading like, a Lot of manga lol so i split books + comics into two.
books:
vita nostra by Marina and Sergey Dyachenko: a metaphysics-ish novel about a girl who is blackmailed into going to a magic school. sort of a subversion where (unlike many magic school books) it basically is all about learning and stuff? im kind of a sucker for books written by married couples i think its really cute and also kind of fascinating... um i sort of disagree with its approach to pedagogy but its also sort of about the blood sweat and tears part of learning,, where i usually quit beforehand LOL. got that eastern european hopeless and drudgery (?) but idk i would definitely recommend
the great believers by rebecca makkai: historical fiction that swaps between an art curator-y guy living through the aids epidemic in chicago and his friend in the present who is trying to reunite w her estranged daughter. i really liked this!! super devastating obviously literally scooped me like a melon. very well researched! i hadnt really grasped like. the sheer terror and paranoia? that happened during the aids epidemic before..... thats my lack of contemp history knowledge but it was good i learned a lot. liked the theme of sort of surviving through tragedy and even after.. and the line drawn between the lost generation (war) and yales own exp (EDIT: found sth i wrote after reading the book which said "people are living their own intricate and mundane stories and then the stories of the world smash straight through them")
assassin of reality (vita nostra sequel): sasha knows what she will become--has embraced it, even. but theres always something that can be lost, and the institute still has a heavy hand over her.<or sth like that??? the reveals of the last book kind of make it a hard act to follow and the book definitely felt a lot more abstract... ik some people complained about the romantic subplots but i feel like it gives stakes and grounds everything else, yk? it gives you a thread to hold onto otherwise i mightve given up LMFAO that being said i did enjoy it :3 wondering if what happened to the authors will change the vibe of the next book... :(
you exist too much by zaina arafat: literary fiction about a bisexual palestinian american woman who struggles with her addiction to unattainable love, which has led her to cheat in several relationships. this book didnt really resonate with me.. um i actually ended up writing like 500 words of review for this but its pretty negative. so if youre interested check it out here https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/970847361775591466/1147613251933306921/image.png
movies/tv: room with a view: a young english girl travels to italy and finds love there--but has to choose between that love and a 'proper' life. ok this was fine. idk it was cute and funny sometimes but didnt leave that much of an impression sorry :T
past lives: two childhood friends reconnect, lose touch, then reconnect again. aughjjj those two silent minutes where they were waiting for her ride were so freaking agonizing. really good acting pretty film i just enjoyed it a lot in general! :3 i didnt like the boyfriend that much at first but the conversation they had in bed made them feel like a real relationship, you know? wish theyd had a 3some though maybe it will happen in past lives 2: paster life. idk its like most of the time we dont grow up to be who we thought wed be or do what we thought wed do... but is that really so bad? cant you still be happy? *clutches my head
nimona (movie): adaptation of the comic above! um this was fine i think i was a little disappointed bc the jokes felt a little overplayed/didnt really land? and i was mentally comparing it to the comic but then rereading i was like oh these jokes dont really hit for me either.. so who am i comparing this to LOL i think it would have meant a lot to me in middle school, so maybe it will mean something to middle schoolers now. also ppl fought really hard for it to be made so i feel like i need to give it more credit. my mutuals meta also made me appreciate it more :3 https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/687877902200471552/1126752893312184390/image.png barbie movie: not going to recap the barbie movie sorry. i actually watched this twice it was really fun :3 i wouldnt necessarily say it was a Cultural Milestone or anything but it was cute to see everyone dressed up for the movie.. plus i love velveteen rabbit type storylines. i think ken got the right amount of screentime (its not his movie!) but i loved his dance number and the battle scene :3 and the outfitss idk im not super caught up on the movie scene but it feels like there have been a lot of ugly movies recently. i enjoyed it
the rehearsal: a "reality" show about nathan fielder, who believes that any difficult situation can be rehearsed--and has the budget to put that belief into practice. ok like last year or sth everyone was like omg this show was sooo good but i didnt really get what it was about? but its actually really so interesting.. and the whole blurring between fiction and reality as well as the audience not really knowing which parts are staged and which parts are 'real' is so fun! i was a little bit disappointed when it diverged from the episodic format but that ended up paying off bigtime and was really like idk heartbreaking and funny and all of that. very recommend 👍
video games:
super mario odyssey: (replay)super fucking mario yay!!! in the long run, odyssey didnt have as much like. cultural staying power as botw did (they were both switch launch titles) but its still soooo imaginative and pretty and dense! i love platformers love 2 run and jump.
visual media: he was my brother: psych horror manga about a young girl who tries to grow closer to her recently-deceased brother's partner. omg i had so much fun with this the art is so atmospheric and delightfully creepy...REALLY mind the warnings though. i think i ended up reading all of it in one sitting lmfao
nimona comic (reread): classic villain ballister blackheart is looking for a competent sidekick, but what he gets is nimona, a shapeshifting weirdo kid with secrets. i remember trying to reread this and going wow.... is nimona not as good as i remember? am i old? but it was actually just like early webcomic weirdness nimona is still pretty good! yay :3 i still like the comic better but i respect how they are adapted to their respective mediums and also come from different phases in the og authors life
The story of how I came to know my favourite announcer has a side to her I would have never imagined: oneshot f/f w the premise in the title. whether i write down stuff like this is pretty hit or miss lol and i had to look this one up to rmbr what it was but the art is so cute...simple plot but i enjoyed it :3
crossplay love otaku x punk: romcom where two highschoolers fall in love with the other's crossdressing alter ego (m/m?). i really liked this one actuallyyy its so silly and im also a sucker for love square shenanigans. ok also now that someone else said they think hana/shuumei is endgame so im thinking about it. not the right perspective for this but the crossdressing isnt really overly fetishized or like seen as bad or anything? also ppl make some really funny faces in this
breathless momentum (vol 2+3): r two womanizing musicians find love... in each other!? this is also another one of my favorites :3 the leads are so fun and also music yay music! i really appreciate when a romance is still able to present an interesting story even after the couple has gotten together..
damekoi r: sequel to "please love this useless me," (damekoi is like.. useless passion? i think) which is about a woman in her 30s who spends all her money on her college boyfriend and goes into debt and falls in with her shitty former boss. omg it was soooo cute like i already said its a romance set after the main couple has already gotten together. which is my favorite. but these guys are really fucking weird so they still have a lot of problems. having Another Man who fits michikos type and isnt totally evil come in to destabilize shibata and kurosawas relationship doesnt feel cheap bc their relationship is already not very stable? lol i think the first one is worth checking out if you love pathetic women
mr villains day off: a gag manga about an alien supervillain on his days off. ok this one is pretty much just centered around this fluffy guy who likes to look at pandas but its extremely not very deep but its very cute... i like it... i also like pandas
how do we relationship/so do you want to go out, or (reread): f/f slice of life/drama manga about a girls first lesbian relationship in college. ok this is like "the" yuri manga for me i would recommend it to any fans of femslash its like sort of very realistic feeling? in the way that a relationship can sort of degrade slowly through lack of communication and being different people i think its really great 👍
ichinose familys seven deadly sins: psychological drama. an entire family wakes up with amnesia from a car crash. they dont remember themselves or each other, but pledge to stay together and relearn how to be a family and try to find their memories again. but is it really worth digging up the past...? man this one really goes off the rails. but like in a fun way? has an interesting arc going on rn about like... what allowances do we give, what are we willing to forgive in a stranger vs a family member. pretty interesting!
oshi no ko (catchup): psych thriller about the twin children of a famous idol trying to deal with the legacy she leaves behind. ive been talking about this manga for a while to my friends lol its kind of like riverdale in that its sort of very good, sort of very bad--but overall just super engrossing! which makes sense in a way bc its about the entertainment industry but also about the relationship between an idol and their fan... um not so sure about recent developments though lol. a little bit scared to see where things go
blue period (catchup): a delinquent boy used to going with the flow decides to go to the top art school in japan. yeah blue period is really good. hope this helps 👍lets all never go to art school ever ok ^_^
still sick: f/f about an office lady who finds out her coworker writes and sells yuri doujins (like illustrated fanfiction?) on the side. its a classic! was nice to finally get around to finishing it :3
liar satsuki can see death: thriller about a girl who can see peoples deaths and tries to prevent them--except everyone thinks shes just a liar. ok this is notable bc it has the exact same like adventures and gaybait as shounen but its all girls instead. its good light entertainment! sometimes is um kind of horny for sth about high school girls so ymmv on that one
farming for love: m/m romance about a pharmacist who moves to the country after a bad breakup and meets a ~strong but silent farmer~. pretty average, but fun if youre into that kind of thing! not sure if i would really recommend it lol
chainsaw man 2: set after the events of chainsaw man proper, its an action shounen focusing on asa mitaka, a girl who kinda sucks :3 chainsaw man is so fun yayyy im happy to be reading it again excited to get hit by some more bricks! asa is a wonderful protagonist and fujimoto continues to write comitragedy (?) in a way thats kinda obscene but also very cool 👍rip single father denji
skip and loafer (comic): slice of life about an ambitious but awkward girl who comes from the country to start her high school life in tokyo!!!! and some guy i guess. omg ok this is like the slice of life manga for me rn (the anime is really good! finished recently check it out) its just really warm and nice. autistic girls win always lol truly a comic that makes you feel like there is love in the world
no home: webtoon drama about two guys who are trapped together in a haunted dorm. ok this comic makes me really depressed but its also about people who make each other better despite their best efforts. and also violence and hatred its really really good 👍sad about recent updates though.. i guess maybe the characters werent really meant to be friends in the long term
this took me like two weeks to write and now im in a different state LOL so um if you got to the end...thanks for reading!

Non wip questions. Hope that's okay??
Pardon me if I'm being too intrusive, I simply like getting to know my favorite writers. Feel free to skip anything you aren't comfortable with.
1. Which of your projects are your favorite to write?
2. Which character are you most biased towards and why?
3. What are your preferred pronouns?
4. Where would you love to see your projects going?
5. You deal with alot of not just gender identity topics but sexual oriented ones aswell in your works. As a member of the community I appreciate the representation aswell as the very realistic panic that accompanies it. Is that an important topic for you to explore when doing world building?
6. What Is your favorite thing to do when you aren't writing?
7. Lastly you mentioned Chase and baking. If he had to attempt at baking your favorite food/dessert what would it be that he would ultimately fuck up?
Thank you for answering in advance 😇
What is something you do for inspiration and what keeps you going?
Sure, thats okay! Don't worry about being intrusive, I will just skip should I not feel comfortable with sth!
It depends on the mood I am in: but atm Birds of a Rose, Hawks and Doves and Dog Nights. I just love urban fantasy and dystopia. Afterwards the rest of my projects, they need more world building, which is making me avoid them a bit.
I am most biased when writing Elrond atm! Because there are a lot of things that connect me with this character.
He/him!
I would love to seem them finished soon, which will probably not happen lol. But I would be proud knowing my writings will help and comfort people (even with the very dark topics than can take place), and be well known for high replayability and good writing. I just want to deliver some good games tbh.
What is very important to me, as an aroace trans person, is making unique dialouge, and making MC learn about it and what it means, instead of just making it just "Oh, you choose aro/ace? No romance for you". I want it to matter. And adress some form of harrasment we often face. So far I have unique dialouge for aro/ace routes if you reject Droznik and if you get together with E. Falkenflug at the party.
I love to read! Learn new things about history.
My favourite baked cookies are rather easy tbh: White Chocolate Macadamie nut cookies! However he would probably fuck up simply because he totally forget to change the metric from EU to US lol
What I do for inspiration: reading books to get me into the right mindset (I have a ton of books about state youth organisations which always gets me into mood for Hawks and Doves for example).
What keeps me going: as cheesy as it sounds, messages like this. Messages that show me that I am not just throwing my stories into a void, that people pick up on the small stuff and changes. That my stories have an audience.

Read in August
Inspired by @poesimark 's mini reviews, I'll put my thoughts on the books I read last month here (in chronological order):
Homage to Catalonia: Like all of Orwell's books recounting his personal experiences a great read. I'd barely heard of the Spanish Civil War beforehand, definitely filled a major gap in my knowledge of the history of Europe there.
And Then There Were None: obviously great, even though I'd read it a few years ago I completely forgot who the culprit was (and how they pulled it off!) so I got to be surprised once again
Nausea: would tread with caution here if you've struggled with depression/derealization in the past, this is very intense. Definitely sth. I will be rereading once I'm more familiar with Sartre's philosophy
Orwell's Roses: this felt like talking to a friend about a topic you're both obsessed with. very meandering though, some chapters only tangentially touch upon the original topic. I appreciated reading a more modern perspective on Orwell though, that also acknowledged his blindspots when it comes to sexism etc. and takes a critical look at the "Englishness" and its colonial background he sometimes venerates. worth a read if you're interested in Orwell.

⭐ ramble about whatever you want o7
[ask game]
because i know you like it + i've wanted to talk about it for quite a while, i'll talk about and i can't live in a fairytale of lies in its entirety:
the humble beginnings + misc
i first started writing down the introspective/emotional spiel at the end of chapter 2 while i was at the yata supermarket in mong kok east. i wrote like half the fic in like five hours that day after coming home LMAO
also, i mentioned "no quarter given" in both chapters of the fic with no explanation for what it means. iirc it's basically old-timey military terminology for "kill on sight even if they surrender" (or sth along those lines)
titles
the working title for the fic was counting sheep, after the crane wives song whose lyrics i used for the chapter titles
there's one specific set of chapter titles that i decided against using in the final version purely because it's too politically inflammatory (as in i could get arrested)
[everything else under the cut because i like yapping a bit too much]
kuervo in childhood
[Chapter 1] Four walls. A tallboy of a child's clothes that no longer fit. A wall of books on Nayan history, politics, and military affairs, a decade or more out of date. [Chapter 2] As night fell, he read through some military documents from the Armada's offices. Perhaps it was out of sheer boredom, or perhaps he just wanted to stay up to date with the Armada's activities after all these years — though the reasons for that had changed, from genuine investment in state matters to something related, but quite different in motive.
my guy was Interested in big topics from a young age. it probably came with the childhood trauma and the propaganda. whether you'd classify it as a hyperfixation/special interest or whatnot is ENTIRELY up to you to decide.
btw a tallboy is basically like a wardrobe. a time period-appropriate wardrobe.
for there had been no tears left to cry since 1037, and never would there be again.
pirates started in 1040 (he was 19), so he was 16 in 1037, when it all began. i feel that emotional (and especially tear) repression crops up a lot in my fics. funny because i'm a pretty big crier in real life.
also, very sad, i know: kuervo needs a hug. he GETS a hug. but the person he gets a hug from doesn't UNDERSTAND the sheer amount of emotional turmoil he's been through over the years.
"Long may he reign." And may he and the Commanders reign until the Sun, Moon, and stars are extinguished and fall from the skies and all other life is destroyed, and may they reign thereafter as well.
this is actually a "me in real life" thing: snarking about "long may [totalitarian leader] reign" being so long that they're still alive at the heat death of the universe (or equivalent) and are STILL alive afterwards. except i tweaked it to be less scientific because of setting limitations; my basis for pirates worldbuilding IS the first half of the 19th century, after all.
nayan politics
there's so much politics that i could go into much more depth about. the anti-subversion laws and incrimination(? i only know the chinese as 連累) of family members who might not even be involved, among many others. though usually the incrimination part won't take literal decades to occur like it does in this fic; if this fic were to be realistic about it, mila's father and entire family and bloodline would probably be dead within the year after her escape (even a decade might be stretching it tbh).
the part about hidden postboxes for informants to tattle is partially inspired by totalitarian regimes in western europe in the 1940s, but moreso the chinese "spying/tattling on each other" mandate from legalist traditions over 2000 years ago. and also the cultural revolution. ESPECIALLY the cultural revolution. you can tell that my cultural experiences with politics REALLY affects the undertones of this fic.
also the fact that canon never explains why naya wants kuervo alive (as stated in the wanted poster). i actually gave an explanation here: political corruption. since his family is in high places in canon, part of me was arguing the whole with great power comes great responsibility thing + higher-ups should theoretically receive worse punishments, but my brain then said that was the legalism talking (i took a course on ancient chinese philosophy two years ago) + most real-life governments would let it slide much more easily, so i decided on the latter.
and the fact that his family is convinced that he's just misguided or whatnot. totalitarian politics is complicated, and the entwining of love and politics is even more complicated (and isolating). i personally didn't intend to project that part, but i just realized as i was writing this response that i might have done so subconsciously LOL
agriculture, connections, & kuervo's unreliable narration
At least his parents, in all their wealth and influence, were supportive of his newfound interest in the drink [coffee] and could afford to purchase some for him — they only grew well in the tropical south, and living in the far northwest meant that the average Nayan citizen would never see a coffee bean in their entire life. A guilty pleasure, he would call it, but it was one of the few remnants of his stint on the Faction Isles that he could keep where he was — Graecie had introduced him to the drink one autumn morning, saying that Marnie had introduced it to Will, who had introduced it to her. He wasn't quite sure if an afterlife existed, but if it did, he hoped that Alex could meet Marnie there. They'd get along well, even with Alex's devotion to what he had believed to be the Armada's anti-piracy convictions, and if the Nightingales were to be believed, she would welcome him with open arms nonetheless.
this part makes me so freaking sad for so many reasons.
on one hand, it's the biologist urge to talk about biology (climate and agriculture; kuervo implies in the dec 2nd stream that naya is located in the far northwest)
a lot of this segment is also inspired by that one tumblr post about how everyone is a patchwork of the people they've interacted with in the past: in this case, how coffee was passed down through interpersonal connections + kuervo misses his friends and the isles, dammit
on THE OTHER hand, it's also about kuervo NOT KNOWING the ending and what becomes of the faction isles. he doesn't know (for sure) that the isles survive their last encounter with ivy and iris. he doesn't know that p!will is dead. [and dw for context, the coffee enjoyer part is confirmed canon on p!will's part.] he doesn't know about how p!graecie's grief doesn't end where he left. he doesn't know he carries more than two dead people's direct legacies and memories with him.
in retrospect, the fact that this fic still works in the context of the bad alt ending for canon kills me even more, because kuervo's fate is among the very few that DON'T depend on the defeat of ivy and iris, so you can very well interpret this fic to take place in that continuity and it would still work out perfectly well. which then makes everything i said above take on ten extra layers of Sad bc Everyone Else Is Dead and Kuervo Doesn't Know.
political tactics
Alas, an order was an order, even when it was not worded as one, and again, he was no fool.
here i go, talking about totalitarian politics again. totally not because i live here.
Los Pelicanos, los Halcones, los Guinchos, y los Azulillos, he wrote of the factions. None of them were the correct translations for the birds, but it would hopefully throw the Armada off everybody's trails for a while.
i described this specific part in my writing outline/ideas as "he gives info but like, a bit to the left lol" [sic]
iirc guincho means "osprey" + i (and by extension, kuervo) deliberately worded it so that you can't directly refute the names on sight from the poster & the faction banner designs
symbolism
i talk about "unbound sailors" because that's what "pirates" translates to in my conlang LMAO
so here's the thing about the conlang: 'unbound' is the very direct translation and it initially refers to "not bound to a government or allegiance" or whatnot, but then the people living in ecclesia were like "so you are an anarchist type? so you must have no loyalty and must want to hurt everyone. pirate." and so the connotation was formed in-universe + how we got this translation + why pirates don't do "classic" destructive pirate activities
(i have SO SO SO MUCH worldbuilding lore tied to a single word, i can't believe it either. also speaking of: i do think of the faction isles as their own legal entity in-universe, but that's another can of worms to unpack LMAO)
"allies" who might turn him over to the authorities for two and a half dozen silver coins to line their pockets
thirty pieces of silver, it's fine, you can laugh me out of court, i had the then-new tv tropes page on my mind when i wrote that
tying stories together
so then i went on this entire spiel about the kingdom of rupestria, which actually ISN'T unique to this fic! i first mentioned it at the end of through blood and name, my p!owen naming fic, as the navy that she got arrested by and then served under (with commander sam) before getting out of dodge in her backstory
since owen mentioned that she came from the northwest (sept 20th vod, scott pov), i figured that her places of origin were located in the same general area as naya (i mentioned that headcanon in the life is a railway writer's cut too)
[through blood and name also mentions "owen of the egretry"; that's a reference to my "the faction isles are their own legal entity" headcanon as well bc i hc that the heron faction publishes under that alias into the greater academic world of ecclesia; egrets are taxonomically herons]
in this case, i also tied p!sausage's backstory into this bc i headcanon that his home island (canonically in the north iirc) was located in disputed territory around rupestria's waters. the section was mainly analysing the ethical implications of the attack from the navy's pov (but ofc, navies of ecclesia don't give a shit about this)
(again, i wonder about if there's correlation or even causation between the kites settling the northwestern side of the faction isles + so many totalitarian or otherwise restrictive regimes being located in northwestern ecclesia)
introspection & psychology
a lot about kuervo's quiet resistance after being put under house arrest near the end was me channeling my 2019/20 sociopolitical activist energy into a fic, hence the projection tags. the numbness towards politics? that's also me, but from 2021 and onward. as i said, it's been so long since i've written and published anything of that sort; i think the last time i did was in 2020
the naïvety self-blame is also kind of a very personal thing bc i remember watching the 2012 local chief executive (basically mayor/governor) elections on tv when i was a kid and the guy i was predicting to win (with all the innocence of a 7yo child) DID win. i was so happy at the time but then i was 7 and didn't understand the true political implications at the time, and i learnt just a couple of years later that the guy was actually an asshole (+ all-round not a person i should align myself politically if i want to stand by my morals and values)
i don't really blame myself for that bc i was 7 and didn't know better, but i feel that this is something that kuervo still has to come to terms with, because he grew up in a loyalist/pro-totalitarian household and his naïvety lasted until he was 16 before the entire world backflipped on him and crashed down in a single night, so i felt that the psychological impact of everything on him would be much greater when compared to my personal experience
and also as i mentioned in the tags: "i may or may not have given kuervo ptsd", so yeah: the flashbacks are canon + nightmares here, avoidance 101 (gun avoidance in canon) + sleep issues and paranoia here + ongoing negative emotions & blame (bro has been on a revenge arc for OVER A DECADE since CHILDHOOD) + implicit social isolation here (chapter 1)
conclusion
anyways teehee kuervo was one of the more fun cubitos to write purely because i get to put a spotlight on the guy and then OOPS i may have accidentally set him on fire with the projection beam in the process
(also holy shit this entire writer's cut is like 2k words long by itself. the fic is only 2.9k words. i like to yap i guess)

Gaius Iulius Hyginus ...
"Latin author, a pupil of the scholar Alexander Polyhistor, and a freedman of Caesar Augustus. He was elected superintendent of the Palatine library by Augustus according to Suetonius' De Grammaticis, 20. It is not clear whether Hyginus was a native of the Iberian Peninsula or of Alexandria." Wikipedia
"Under the name of Hyginus there are extant what are probably two sets of school notes abbreviating his treatises on mythology; one is a collection of Fabulae ("stories"), the other a "Poetical Astronomy"."
He's got many lost writings... (hate when this happens, but nah...)
More on the Fabulae..
"The Fabulae consists of some three hundred very brief and plainly, even crudely, told myths (such as Agnodice) and celestial genealogies,[3] made by an author who was characterized by the modern editor, H. J. Rose, as adulescentem imperitum, semidoctum, stultum—"an ignorant youth, semi-learned, stupid"—but valuable for the use made of works of Greek writers of tragedy that are now lost. Arthur L. Keith, reviewing H. J. Rose's edition (1934) of Hygini Fabulae,[4] wondered "at the caprices of Fortune who has allowed many of the plays of an Aeschylus, the larger portion of Livy's histories, and other priceless treasures to perish, while this school-boy's exercise has survived to become the pabulum of scholarly effort." Hyginus' compilation represents in primitive form what every educated Roman in the age of the Antonines was expected to know of Greek myth, at the simplest level. The Fabulae are a mine of information today, when so many more nuanced versions of the myths have been lost.
In fact the text of the Fabulae was all but lost: a single surviving manuscript from the abbey of Freising,[5] in a Beneventan script datable c. 900, formed the material for the first printed edition, negligently and uncritically[6] transcribed by Jacob Micyllus, 1535, who may have supplied it with the title we know it by.[7] In the course of printing, following the usual practice, by which the manuscripts printed in the 15th and 16th centuries have rarely survived their treatment at the printshop, the manuscript was pulled apart: only two small fragments of it have turned up, significantly as stiffening in book bindings.[8] Another fragmentary text, dating from the 5th century is in the Vatican Library.[9]
Among Hyginus' sources are the scholia on Apollonius of Rhodes' Argonautica, which were dated to about the time of Tiberius by Apollonius' editor R. Merkel, in the preface to his edition of Apollonius (Leipzig, 1854)."
Yeah, seems.. idk... im confused...
Gotta appreciate the ones who can work a nice way out w too little infos, really want to know what he had to say on the godess he & probably a select group of ppl envisioned as a primordial, was it instead of another primordial as we learn in Hesiod's Theogony... or was an addition, did i read right? Appeared b4 Chaos?? Or im already confusing w sth else... my bad, cs taken a mlp pause to work on a ship edits, of which two i lost cs picsart got bugs agn...
Tumblr media
But here's the one that didnt (cs didnt forget to save)... the pony on the right is the oc, ik, i placed cheese sandwich too much in center, so it looks like its abt him, but no, he's just a pal... the name of the blue one w what i envisioned as brown curly mane w blue highlights, is Swirling Magus - & he's oc kid of wizwinds (wiz & winds) gay ship from mlp equestria girls... he's a nice guy, an ambivert, likes both to study like twillight, & hangout w friends, hold magical performances, & he can be so silly... pronouns: he/they
Yeah, just explained my dizzy mind 😆😁
Now ill back to Higynus ...
Found it on topostext.org 😍

your analysis are fun, thank u for answering! sorry if i keep sparring, i just like talking abt it and i liked ur take, even if i kinda disagree. that analysis of remus' "blind devotion" is completely fanmade —for example, remus had no trouble refusing a teacher's position until dumbles offered him wolfsbane in exchange, sth that shows more how desperate remus was for a respite of his condition than anything else— and it's set upon a flawed premise: remus isn't blind to his friends' flaws. he does see them and he knows they're wrong, and it's implied that he even called them out sometimes and he did reign them in a bit. i doubt he'd do the same to dumbledore, but that's not out of blindness, but out of respect for dumbledore and an intimate knowledge of what blind mistrust (which is what harry tends to do and what remus is answering to when he talks about trusting snape bc dumbledore trusts him) can lead to in a war. ultimately, people tend to criticize remus for not going against dumbledore when there was no reason for him to do so (he didn't know of dumbledore's more questionable plans and people's dislike of dumbledore tends to get in the way of how he'd be perceived in-universe without that book 7 reveal), especially in the context of a war that dumbledore's leading. how he acts regarding dumbledore is no different from slughorn, the weasleys, the guests at the wedding in book 7 or any other character, regardless of his personal history with the man. not to say it wouldnt be interesting to explore, but it's not something that defines his character or the choices he makes (as shown in the fact that remus only being allowed to attend hogwarts bc of dumbles is barely mentioned in the books while we have hagrid to exemplify what blind devotion towards dumbledore because of what he did for someone looks like).
Nah keep sparring I love it.
I suppose fanon does have a way of influencing, I guess i've read too much fan-fiction. I can see how I have mixed up respect and blindness, respect makes more sense. Whereas with Hagrid, who is shown through to have a massive amount of respect and nothing bad to say about Dumbledore because he let him stay at Hogwarts.
The friends thing, he knew what they were doing was bad, I did not mean to imply otherwise, more that it would make it harder for him to speak against them. I cannot remember how much in canon Remus reigned them in, but I think it is stated somewhere that Remus couldn't or didn't want to do much in regards to it? Like the Sirius thing, he didn't want to admit about him being a animgus (or whatever) because that would have broken the trust Dumbledore gave him.
The Dumbledore hate train seems to have a way on twisting things, and it is true that Remus would have had no way of evening know about some of his, let's say dubious, plans.
The emphasis on letting Remus join Hogwarts is definitely explored more in fanon, but I still think it holds weight. Remus would have respected him a lot more for it, and I think it would have meant a whole lot to him and influenced him.
It is true that others opinions and thoughts may have influenced my opinions and how I remember the books, so thank you for bringing actual factual evidence from the books, it's been awhile.
I do think that Dumbledore would have had influence on Remus, but not at all negative or to slight him against. As you said, everyone trusted Dumbledore, held him in high regards.
I think it is the Dumbledore hate that emphasis's these flaws that people like to talk about, and maybe exaggerate them.
Please keep asking, i love talking about my interests, i get way too fixated and often don't have a way to explore/discuss them. Even if we are differing in opinion!

my friend just introduced me into this recently. ive not dig in very much of Nixonverse but i have to talk about how Jesus in Vietnam grasps me
i peak in history classes when i learn about two modern wars in Vietnam during 1919-1975. the invasion of France in three lands of Indochina (we dont even bring up other places that is also colonized) and the infamous lost in that war crime game the USA played on the land of Ho Chi Minh. the big countries have been going to small lands, the "third world countries" and trying to kill, to assimilate us smaller nation as their modern-day slaves for centuries and centuries. and the fact that it still occurs today, tomorrow and no one knows when will this shit ended. Vietnam got out of the war only around 50 years ago (2025 is the 50th anniversary of our win against the US), and there are still people believe that it's Vietnam civil war, or this is communist propaganda (where the fuck are some people's sympathy anyway?). rumors about the third world war are on the verge of becoming true, although it's predicted to happen in one more millennia. shit being called "natural selection". my favorite thing to learn about history is how history is shaped to fit one's belief of a government, and in history classes, i love studying about revolution the most. not about Hitler, or any US president, not even Stalin (bad bitch i always heard shit abt you), but about smaller voices getting louder and louder, and how their fights mean to human rights. im talking like im belong to leftism or sth but no honestly, sometimes i have doubt about my so called "communist" government, too much that i do fear to be in jail if i try to crack one more joke about how shitty they act sometimes. more than a half of Vietnamese population are mad at our government too, i hear them talking sour everyday. from the early days of the existence of humanity til now, four horses of apocalypse have been wandering around, makes me shiver about how vague the concept of death is, yet the way its so significant in daily life.
i talked too much about war stuff above that i forgot the second big topic in the title "Jesus" and religion. im not a big fan of believing in any entity, although i dont deny their existence at all. i do follow Buddhism's belief everyday bc it has been a tradition in Vietnam, but ig its an exception because bro isn't qualified as God. Buddhism is considered as a atheism religion as i read somewhere. anyway talking about Jesus he is the ambiguous concept i learn through tv, books, western medias from younger ages, that sometimes i pray to him although i get scolded for acting offensively to a religion i do not belong too. besides that other thing relevant to him that i learn about is cults, and that shit is wild 💀 i still remember my teacher talking about how France used Portuguese pastors to get Vietnamese people believe in the theory "God allows me to invade your homeland 😜", and how Christians Vietnamese fight against them (my grandfather once joined the Vietnamese Christian to exchange info for the VC (Việt Cộng lmao)). wildest thing i ever learn in secondary school (we learn it in 7th grade which is the second year of secondary school in Vietnam and its around the age of 13) that got me into reddit posts about Jesus when i googled to learn more about the topic. im glad i pay attention to class because i did not know i would be too much invested in Vietnam history back in the day. Jesus is believed to be a propaganda of the US, and when i learn more about this God, it's a cultural shock for me. US government turned out to be the biggest cult in my eye (i love my American friends but honestly im against yall's government and i know yall do too)
anyway i think John Lennon would be invested into this idk

I wish you had kept those glasses on today.
I dont know how tf I'm supposed to get over the fact that I know the color of your eyes now. It was kind of hazel but then kind of red brownish in the center and more greenish in the surroundings.
di nuovo ecco mi making you the solution
forcing myself to make you the solution
sometimes even making myself your solution!!!!
why can't we just accepts us the way we are
why would we even seek a solution
a solution for solving which problem
why would i even see a problem in you at all
i though I'd like you, where does the problem stem from
i read this part of a book saying that when we like people
that happens cuz we see in them the same needs we see in ourselves
or maybe the same unsatisfied needs
idk how it works but I have apparently, subconsciously seen these unsatisfied needs
but what is it? is it the need to be loved so bad in a way that brings you satisfaction?
and if that's the case, why am i so certain that i can give you that
maybe because i want it so much....
~
I remember when you had first started working in the lib, everyday my day was lowkey ruined cuz every morning I got this "here she comes again" vibe from you, some kind of despise that I couldn't tell where it might come from. It got me so upset i even talked to my flatmate about it told him there is this guy at the lib i think he hates me he literally pisses me off everytime i see his face and him being all like dude just confront him and say it and me being all like yea imma do it tomorrow and well i never did.
i'm glad i didn't. that sure would have been nasty.
maybe cuz i noticed the "unsatisfied needs". like out of the blue. i woke up one morning and decided to take off the sunglasses off my third eye or sth.
today i dont know why but the fact that i could not help but to allow myself to be nervous about the shit i was so deep in, i could not help but to lowkey see you drifting away as more of my demons and anxiety you were being exposed to second by second. I had become quite hyper-ac once again and i was not fully aware of it at the time but i could feel something was off. Maybe i was trying to align you and my image of you, subconsciously and that's why i saw you drifting away from me. Like you were interacting with me but you had nothing else to say. nothing. not even sympathy.
(the way i said "perfect" after hearing that everything will get erased after you shut down the machine, felt more like "ah thanks god my porn history will get wiped clean I'll be a saint again". But in fact i was being sarcastic it was so funny).
