It was the first time that Ed could turly say he felt physically sick at something that another person had said. Angry? Plenty of times. Defensife? Sure, it happened. Annoyed? Regularly. But the physical feeling of his stomach twisting up as he stared back at Kimblee, and knew that the man meant it? Had probably said it from a place of familiarity and implication that he enjoyed the kinds of things he'd once been locked up for? Ed could have sworn he could have emptied his stomach then and there.

Ed smirked at the Crimson Lotus Alchemist's words, rather proud of himself to have gotten a reaction like that. Preening at the stoking of his ego probably wasn't the best idea right now considering Kimblee wasn't exactly his friend and shit was probably about to hit the fan, but hey, he'll take what he can get, right?

"Too smart for my own good? Sounds like I was smart enough to put a spanner in the works, I'd call that too smart for your good!" He smirked, eyes briefly darting around the room. You never knew what this guy and his creepy allies would pull, but he'd be ready for em. He wasn't the youngest State Alchemist for nothing after all!
