↬ High Waisted Sport Luxe Trousers

Catherine owns the High Waisted Sport Luxe Trousers from Jigsaw in navy blue. Often described as ‘puddle pants’, these pants were first worn by Catherine in 2018 during her visit to RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus along with Prince William.

Since then they have become one of her go to pieces from the brand having been worn by her on a number of occasions like - a visit to the Henry Fawcett Centre in 2019, during the Royal Train Tour of 2020, for a visit to Wolverhampton in 2021, to see the “Faberge in London: from romance to revolution" exhibition at the V&A Museum, at the Ukrainian Cultural Centre in 2022 and the latest for a visit to Windsor Foodshare along with William in 2023.

The trousers feature a wide waistband, belt loops and welt pockets. The fabric is woven from a soft, breathable viscose mix that contains a hint of stretch. They also appear to have a slightly flared shape

Okay I need everyone to open their minds and use their imaginations and tell me if I’m crazy here. I made this connection and now I can’t unsee this 😭 I don’t know why, maybe it’s the cheekbones, or the soulless eyes, or the tiny suit. But I’ll never look at him the same again ☠️☠️

January 13th 603 saw the death of St Mungo, patron saint of Glasgow (and also known as St Kentigern).

Saint Mungo also known as Kentigern is believed to have been born and brought up in Culross in Fife. Mungo is believed to have began his Christian Ministry at aged 25 around the year 540. He established himself  in Glasgow living a simple life beside a tributary known as the Molendinar and Mungo set up his Church which is the site of Glasgow Cathedral. Glasgow Cathedral is also the burial place for Saint Mungo.

The Glasgow coat of arms relate to the life and legend of St Mungo. The arms include 'the tree that never grew' relating to St Mungo tending a fire in St Serf's monastery but he fell asleep and some lads who were envious of Mungo's favoured position with St Serf put out the fire while he slept. When Mungo woke he broke off branches from a frozen hazel tree and by praying over them and lit the fire again, the hazel branches were transformed in to a fully grown tree. The 'bird that never flew' is about a robin that had been tamed by St Serf and it had been accidently killed. Mungo prayed over the robin and brought it back to life.  The 'fish that never swam' is about a ring which a King gave to his wife Langoureth who gave it to her lover a knight who wore it and when the King noticed this took it from him when he was sleeping and through it in the River Clyde. The King then demanded to see the ring from Langeoreth and she confessed this to Mungo who sent a monk to fish the river and found the lost ring. The bell is attributed to a bell that was reputedly given to Mungo by the Pope.

Mungo's mother Thenew is also recognised in our Church and within Glasgow, also known as St Enoch. It is believed St Enoch's Square in Glasgow City Centre is the site of her burial ground.

If you know Glasgow at all, you will have seen the many murals around the city, in previous posts about Mungo I have shown these. Glasgow also boasts several Statues to their patron saint, and they show the pride that the city has for him. The statues can be found, in order I have posted them; St Mungo's RC Church, Parson Street, next is a  “ Kinetic” sculpture of St.Mungo blessing the crowds from the Tron Steeple.   The third statue is on the Jigsaw fashion shop in the Merchant City, the former HQ of the Glasgow Savings Bank. Next is the newest of the statues erected in 2018 in the park at the City of Glasgow Colleges' City campus and finally at the north entrance to the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.

Okay u got me hooked and now i badly want to know how boss and a'den got together. do you have any thoughts about how they figured out the other was even interested bc both seems especially emotionally constipated in many ways

Hello!! Ahhhh I’m so happy :D I think I actually came up with them entirely by accident, and Pax helped make it a reality, and now I adore them. I’m so glad someone else likes them too!!

I think you’re absolutely right, my friend, and that the journey to get them where they are when I write them is a long one. I definitely figured that in-universe A’den, when not on mission, enjoys crashing RC missions to “help” (bother) the teams. Obviously, RC sergeants aren’t happy about his encroaching. Boss specifically is on the border between hostile and just Very Annoyed, even moreso when A’den and Scorch start bantering after a tense period of scrutiny, and when Boss realises A’den is actually helping. He’s a Null, he’s very very good at what he does. They’ve even had a lower rate of injury since he’s started bothering them!

Because they’re both of the same rank it’s easier to believe they feel better about sniping at each other or building up a more casual rapport, and both of them are very serious and pragmatic! Boss isn’t going to refuse working together if it works. If A’den is hanging about then it’s likely they spend time together strategising and recovering and reporting etc. Probably a lot of time at the beginning is spent in silence when they’re not working, or a quiet Boss being talked at. Then there’s a steady build up in their friendship as A’den begins to work with them more than he does the other teams because “Delta is way more interesting,” or at least that’s what he says.

I think emotional development happens without much verbal acknowledgement in the beginning. If they don’t say it out loud they don’t have to deal with it, and all that. It’s a bad model to go on, meaningful looks and hoping they’re on the same page, but somehow I think it works. Maybe they even have ill-advised hook-ups to blow off stress. They both like each other enough by now, they have an understanding. Serious arguments inevitably crop up when someone accidentally steps on a metaphorical landmine (or nearly very literal, probably). But at the end of the day they know they can rely on each other, and that means a hell of a lot.

Historically I have not been very good at writing get-together scenes (sorry!!). I can imagine the two of them sitting around a fire though, maybe they’ve just had a spat (about strategy, about someone in Delta, about Skirata, who knows). But they’re still there, next to each other, spaulders and vambraces touching because they’re still there. (It’s about the yearning.) Maybe A’den reaches out and touches his hand. Maybe Boss looks down and is surprised by the realisation that he wants A’den there, that he wants to link their fingers. That they make each other feel stronger.

I really like the idea of them falling in together like jigsaw pieces, slowly and after significant work to build their relationship. They click! They click and I love them :’)

I made you all a new puzzle on JigsawPlanet! It might be the hardest one yet, it’s a rotating kind of puzzle which means that the pieces aren’t rotated in the way that they’re supposed to be (some are) and you have to pick them up and right click on them to change the rotation in order to fit them to other pieces!

My hint for solving these kinds of jigsaws is to go with color schemes and outline pieces, I matched up all the light greens first, then the yellow and oranges, then the grey green and the vivid colors until all that was left were parts of Ragnar’s fur and his cute little face! Have fun!

This one is good for big anxiety and calming down when you got too much on your mind. I didn’t think about anything else when I was trying to piece it together, just the puzzle and Ragnar!

I got so much joy out of this Blake’s 7 jigsaw puzzle made by Lurena for Horizon B7 Advent Calendar 2020. It was just the right amount of challenge to reveal one happy image after another, and oh, the final reward! That was the happiest picture of them all. Hope other folks enjoy it too. :)
