Vowing to go straight, Carlito nonetheless finds dangers waiting for him in the outside world. As Carlito works toward redemption, Kleinfeld sinks into cocaine-fueled corruption. When Kleinfeld crosses the mob, Carlito gets caught in the crossfire and has to face a hard choice: remain loyal to the friend who freed him or protect a new life with the woman he loves (Penelope Ann Miller). With enemies closing in from all sides, Carlito must find his way before it’s too late.

WHO CAN KILL A CHILD (1976, QUIÉN PUEDE MATAR A UN NIÑO?) – Episode 219 – Decades Of Horror 1970s
“I had a shotgun in my room, I grabbed it…but I…I didn’t do anything. No one in the village did a thing, do you understand? Because… who can kill a child?” That’s not a question you want to be the answer to. Join your faithful Grue Crew – Doc Rotten, Bill Mulligan, Chad Hunt, Daphne Monary-Ernsdorff, and Jeff Mohr – as they check out a legendary and infamous Spanish horror film, Who Can Kill a Child? (1976, ¿Quién puede matar a un niño?).

Who Can Kill a Child? (1976), is a politically incorrect title for a Spanish horror film on a difficult subject directed by Narciso Ibáñez Serrador. The film tells the story of a married couple expecting a baby who travels to a remote island off the coast of Spain for a vacation and finds it almost completely devoid of adults. WTF? WTF, indeed! The direction and cinematography are brilliant and the acting doesn’t miss a beat. The 70s Grue Crew, joined this episode by Daphne Monary-Ernsdorff (yay!), are simultaneously disturbed and impressed by this cult classic and think it deserves a wider audience… if you can take it!
TRIGGER WARNING: The movie begins with ten minutes of newsreel footage depicting the heartbreaking damage done to children by the actions of adults in wars. Many viewers will understandably want to skip this section.
At the time of this writing, Who Can Kill a Child? (1976) is available to stream from various YouTube links and is available from Mondo Macabro as a standard format Blu-ray disc.
Gruesome Magazine’s Decades of Horror 1970s is part of the Decades of Horror two-week rotation with The Classic Era and the 1980s. In two weeks, the next episode, chosen by Chad, will be Snowbeast (1977), a TV movie written by Joseph Stefano (Outer Limits, 1963-1965) and starring Bo Svenson, Yvette Mimieux, Robert Logan, Clint Walker, and Sylvia Sidney. It’s time for a good creature feature/big foot flick, but is this the one? Time will tell.

What’s been happening around here besides a darker dash and less fun?
This is the back of the test pressing of the new Youth of Today record that will be available at their shows in Brooklyn this weekend (cover of a Partridge Family song), but I’ll be in lame San Francisco.

I had the flu at this show. I should not have gone. But it was insane.
The last pic is immediately after Ray Cappo went too hard, fell into Sammy’s drumkit, and knocked basically everything over. Sammy and Porcell’s face kill me

Although in 2001 SHELTER planned to break up after their comeback hardcore record "When 20 Summers Pass" the legendary band from New York City belt out another record titled "The Purpose, The Passion." While Porcell left the band to start a family, Ray "Raghunath" Cappo moved to Los Angeles to study martial arts and nutrition and to become a yoga instructor and nutrition consultant. Ray, as the only original member, felt he had one more album left in him, which resulted in the release of "The Purpose, The Passion." With the help of the Swedish multi-instrumentalist Supergrass and the drummer Dave DiCenso (heard on SHELTER's "Mantra" as well as on various CRO-MAGS albums) Cappo recorded "The Purpose, The Passion." This album has 16 pop-punk tracks with Cappo's usual spiritual and uplifiting lyrical message. The album’s hard-hitting punk-rock sound pairs perfectly with Cappo’s catchy melodies which stick in your ears. The completely remastered version of "The Purpose, The Passion" is now available on vinyl for the first time in over 20 years with completely redesigned die cut cover with two covers to choose from. Exclusively available through End Hits Records and for streaming worldwide! #shelter #shelterband #thepurposethepassion #endhitsrecords #grindpromotionrecords #vinyl #vinylcollection #vinylrecords #vinyllover #music #records #recordcollection #vinyljunkie #vinyladdict #vinylporn #coloredvinyl #vinylcollective #vinylcommunity #colouredvinyl #nowspinning #vinylofinstagram #ontheturntable #recordoftheday #ilovediscogs #instavinyl #ilovevinyl (presso Grindpromotion Records Hq) https://www.instagram.com/p/CaP4e4srL9t/?utm_medium=tumblr
