@petalbound asked: [Soramaru; Shirasu] ∗ 34﹕ sender is found by receiver somewhere they shouldn’t be .
There wasn't much left of Gokumonjo Prison. The Orochi had sundered the land and split the might walls into pieces. The island it once set upon was now a series of rocky patches littering the center of the lake. In the darks following the Orochi's disappearance, city guards had scoured the ruins for any convicts who might be hiding there. They had found a few, captured them and sent them off. They hadn't found Shirasu-- no they weren't looking for a man who never existed. They hadn't found Kotarō
Getting out of Ōmi was going to be challenging. The rest of the Fūma had managed to slip out, backing into hiding beyond the once cloudy confines of Ōmi. Kotarō stayed behind. He needed to assess the damage, to gain intel on where things stood in the wake of the Orochi. His clan was wanted for their roll, dead or alive. He had to make sure none of them were left behind to be found. It was dangerous to stay, better to just move on and count their losses. But he needed time to make a plan, find a direction, lick his wounds in the dark where no one can see them. And perhaps some part of him hoped to find his brother in the wreckage, either to bury or to bring along. But the only thing he found was the mask, splintered down the center. How poetic.
Kotarō planned to leave in the coming days, there was nothing left for him here. His wounds were nearly healed, or at least enough that he could start moving, there were no accounts of his clan taken as prisoners by the local guards. It was time to move on. Occasionally, he would glance in the direction of the shrine and wonder after it. He doesn't let himself for too long. He's no longer that person, that's no longer his home. It never really was.
Tucked in the crumbled mass of Gokumonjo, he sits quietly in the dark. It's too risky to start a fire so he eats the fish he's caught raw. He was never much of a cook anyway. The mask sits opposite him. He intends to bury it before he leaves, lay his brother to rest.
When he hears rustling near by, he jumps to his feet. There are plenty of places to hide here and he's good at watching from the shadows. Something in him twists a little when he sees who is scouting around the rubble. Soramaru, far from home. Damn. The fox mask is sitting out in the open and the second son is walking toward it. Whatever answers he hopes to gain from this place, it needs to stop.
Kotarō steps silently behind him, claps a hand over his eyes and presses the flat of his kunai against his throat. "Leave this place," he whispers, pitching his voice down low. He turns them both around, walks Soramaru several steps forward and kicks him forward into the dirt. With a momentary distraction, he dashes backward, grabs his mask and darts back into the shadows, hopeful not to be seen. Hopeful not to be followed. There's no one here for you anymore. Return to your dream.

[Trivia]
Question: What goes best with rice?
Answer:
Isagi: Salted salmon. A combination that makes me happy to be Japanese!
Bachira: Raw eggs and soy sauce. Raw eggs mixed with rice is great!
Chigiri: Mentaiko (pollock roe). I could eat the whole bottle.
Kunigami: Takana-zuke (pickled mustard green). It’s delicious even without rice.
Igarashi: Pickled radish. I really loved it...after I came to Blue Lock.
Raichi: Karaage (Japanese-styled fried chicken).
Gagamaru: Wild boar meat. The one I hunted. Let’s give it a try, everyone!
Naruhaya: Gyoza! My sister often got it from her part-time job.
Iemon: Croquette?
Imamura: Wasabi furikake. Bought it as souvenir.
Kuon: Rayu (chili oil). I was addicted to it for a while. I wonder what’s with that?
Niko: Korean seaweed. The compatibility is exquisite.
Nagi: Anything is fine. It’s a hassle to think so I eat whatever with it.
Rin: Tuna. It’s a winning combo when mixing it with soy sauce and wasabi. There will be no objection.
Shidou: Butter soy sauce. Wrap them (rice mixed with butter soy sauce) with seaweed then eat it.
Reo: High quality niku miso (meat miso). Have you tried it? It’s really good. Should I gift it to you next time?
Zantetsu: Curry.... That’s it.... is it curry rice?
Yukimiya: Shirasu. Pickled egg and green onion shirasu rice are amazing. Why don’t you try it?
Hiori: Nagatanien’s (brand name) ochazuke. It’s a must!
Karasu: Kimchi. It’s good no matter how many times you eat it.
Aryuu: Ikura (red roe). They look like jewels.
Otoya: A cute girl. I like a girl who can eat deliciously.
Tokimitsu: Umeboshi. Rice porridge is even better!
Sendo: Oden! I love radish that goes well with stock soup.
Kitsune: Corned beef! Corned beef bowl!
Sae: Salted seaweed. They don’t have it in Brazil, so I asked my parents to send it from home.
Cho: Kazunoko Matsumaezuke. It taste really good.
Aiku: Salted squid.

Thoroughly making use of the strongest spiker! The steady-handed setter!!!
Total pages in guidebook: 2
*AS ALWAYS I’m still learning the language and cannot guarantee complete accuracy!
2012 Stats
Team: Shiratorizawa Academy (Class 2-4)
Height / Weight: 174.8cm / 64.4kg
Birthday: 4 May 1995
Position: setter
Siblings: one older brother, two younger brothers
Favorite Food: shirasu
Current Concern: Wants to be taller
Note from Sensei: When he talks to people about his concern, they always argue that he’s already tall, but it isn’t any comfort to him.
Nuts & Bolts: Power 2/5 – Jumping 3/5 – Stamina 4/5 – Game Sense 4/5 – Technique 4/5 – Speed 3/5
Jersey Number: 10
Ability
Carrying out to the usual—a simple and brutal attack!
With tosses that aren’t flashy and few mistakes, he has the distinct ability to make full use of the powerful spikers on his team. An important aspect of the game is tossing to Ushijima often, but he can also utilize quick attacks and setter dumps [why did it take me this long to realize “two-attacks” means setter dumps?] to preserve their ace’s physical energy.
Caption: When raising a toss for Ushijima that is easy to hit, the ace is able to pour his full power into it.
Personality
The one who will “stand out the least,” an overly serious hard worker
A man who doesn’t really stand out, but has a big ego and hates to lose. If provoked, he can easily get worked up. He has way too much respect for Ushijima and a cold attitude towards his kouhai Goshiki.
Influences (those who influenced him)
Ushijima Wakatoshi: longing for raw power
He had the ambition to go to Shiratorizawa because of an urge to utilize Ushijima’s overwhelming abilities. After studying like crazy, he was accepted into the school on academic merit alone.
Memorable Scenes Timeline
2012: Making his way up from general entrance exam to starting setter
A hard worker who seized the position of starting setter in his second year, after passing the general entrance exam. At one point during the match against Karasuno, he got caught up in the trap set for Ushijima and fumbled a toss, but he also showed a glimpse of his high correction ability—singlehandedly restoring the rhythm of the team’s attacks in the following set. His confidence and trust in Ushijima remained unchanged until the end, and he continued to give high tosses.
“Just relying on Ushijima-san isn’t my only job.” (Chapter 160)
“Shut up! We’re stronger!!!” (Chapter 183) [my favorite Shirabu line, I love it, his voice actor loves it, I love hearing him say it]
Caption: During the match against Karasuno, a fierce battle of strategy was waged with Tsukishima across the net.
2018: The V.League arc
Currently enrolled in medical school. He lives a busy life, so he wasn’t able to spectate the V.League match and practice in Sendai. His sense of respect for Ushijima still remains unchanged.

In this recipe video, I will introduce how to make Japanese baby food (vol.3). This time, I will introduce how to make baby food with using tofu and fish. (Let's say protein recipes for baby!) As for fish, I use cod fish and shirasu. Shirasu is the generic name for juvenile sardines, sand lances, and herring. These are eaten in a variety of ways in Japan, such as boiled, dried, and raw with soy sauce. I also use somen noodles this time. Somen is thinner noodle than Udon and it's easy to cook and eat. I hope you enjoy watching this video and try it out!

SPOILER ALERT!!!
To my dear followers, finally i've gotten some times to post on tumblr.
I wanna share good news to you guys.
SEIDOU scored 2 runs in the 8th inning!!!
The first run, Shirasu hit RBI and sent Kuramochi home. Look at their happy faces, i'm crying 😭😭😭😭😭😭
The second run, Miyuki got a hit to center field and he sent Shirasu home while he himself got on the 2nd base.
This is some panel from raw chap. After Miyuki got a hit, he looked towards Eijun while showing his fist. The dialog there mean 'I made you wait' which means Miyuki made Eijun wait for him to score a run.❤️❤️❤️
The situation right now is 2 outs with runner on 2nd base in 8th innings. Zono is at bat right now. Hoping for a third run in next chapter. BTW look at Zono's crying face. I can relate to you Zono san. This games start from September, it tooks near 8 months for them to score their first run, i feel so proud of them and of myself for patiently waiting every week for updates. 😭😭😭

“The first one was a good course...but out. They’ll surely want the next one more.” ~Yui Kaoru, Chapter 196 Act II
(Spoilers under the cut)
When the spoilers dropped for this week’s chapter, some of the fan focus was on Miyuki’s batting.
What surprised me in reading the raw is that the batting in this chapter is so much not to do with Miyuki that when Kataoka is telling the team to bat in runs and end the game early, he’s not even part of the discussion. And his out, which is implied, is not even shown.
Kataoka gives his batting orders. To everyone else.
This game certainly feels like we’re meant to focus on Miyuki and Eijun’s battery rather than Miyuki’s batting. I see no problem with this. Who doesn’t want the niyuukan making runs or Shirasu to score a home run? If this didn’t happen, the whole of the Jingu tournament and the games they played without Miyuki would be completely pointless, because they’d still be depending on him, so this is proof that Seidou as a team has grown. Good stuff.
As it turns out, Miyuki’s only meaningful contribution to the chapter is calling for Number Seven to strike out the third batter following Eijun’s four ball pinch. Otherwise he’s irrelevant. Yes, I said that. I love Miyuki, but this chapter isn’t about him, good, bad or otherwise. So let’s forget about him and talk about someone else.
For me, the star of this chapter is Yui.
There have been a few discussions recently about how Yui is not as good as Koushuu and not as needed in the team. A lot of that seems to be backlash from his struggles in the Yamamori game (which IMO was mostly his emotional shock after Ono’s injury) and his struggles with Furuya’s pitches, since those episodes have aired in the last few weeks. There is a tendency from some fans to disregard him as not being as good looking as Koushuu, and sometimes I see suggestions he should give up catching and stay in the outfield, deciding the catching competition before it’s even begun.
Although some of these doubting types also laughed at the idea Toujou was still a pitcher, till Toujou turned out to still be a pitcher.
But back to Yui and his position as the underdog first year catcher.
As a lover of all the Seidou catchers, past and present, the neglect of any of them wounds me. It wounds me deeply. I mean, I love Koushuu too. I love him enough I just wrote 20 chapters of fanfic from his point of view and spammed it all over tumblr, fgs. But it’s by no means for sure imo that Koushuu is Miyuki’s nailed on successor. Heck, I am still sad that Kariba has been passed over so easily, and that Ono is hurt. I really don’t want to see Yui written off before he’s had a chance to prove HIS worth to the team.
As a result, this chapter was a ray of light in my (mostly) catcher-centric Daiya world. Even though it wasn’t a catching moment, it still made Yui shine and randomly grow a few feet at the plate?!.
Despite his size and his youth, Yui is a powerful hitter who - according to Mine in this chapter - is not inferior to Masashi in his batting prowess.
In summary to this long and unnecessary ramble of first year catcher appreciation, for me this chapter is all about Yui making his mark on the team...demonstrating why the catcher succession race is a LONG way from decided yet.
In the interests of fairness, of course, if you want to talk about Miyuki’s non event non batting, it’s a free world.
#Daiya no Ace#Ace of Diamond#Yui Kaoru#Act II Chapter 196#Yes he's still a first year#this is his moment#Catchers are the best characters except for Kuramochi who's also amazing#And Haruichi but if I keep listing non-catchers I'll weaken my point#In any case Yui needs more love and attention#He's earned it#Spoilers#Raw#Catcher appreciation

thedemonconstantine:
“Ouhhhh-” Said John with the glaze slowly coming away from his eyes. Talia’s patience was paying off slowly.
“Is tha’ woh it is? I see. Aaaah…makes sense, sorta,” He nodded and rubbed his chin as if they were discussing philosophies and string theory.
“Oh me Queen, a ‘istory o’ fashion! Alrite, a story like tha’ I kin git meself in on it. I kin relate,” John tugged at the lapels of his coat a little to stare at them, seemingly seeing past it to the roots of its make and origin.
“Still th’ ticket on some o’ ‘ese fings I just can’t…ah well, ‘ta each their own, aye?” John said with a helpless shrug but he showed his appreciation for her explanation and candour with a kiss to her cheek and a big hug.
“I luv me Queen<3 Wohe’er she’s wearin’, I’ll luv ‘er just th’ same.″
Hmm…
“Alrite, so mebbe I might luv ‘er more if she’s nah wearin’ anyfing, heh-”
They settled by the sushi counter and John stared at the menu and blinked. WELL THEN.
“Sushi roulette!” He crowed and randomly pointed at five different items.
What came first was shirasu gunkan, raw white bait with ginger, “Oh, so many dead carcasses!” He ate it and squinted at the taste.
Then a natto gunkan, fermented beans that was gooey and sticky and odd all around, “Tastes like salty coffee wit’ slime.”
Next was shirako, whale sperm. “…Fishy tofu??”
And a seared engawa nigiri, halibut fin, “Fokkin’ aye, Tal, dis tastes like buh’er, I luv it!”
Lastly was an enormous anago sushi, a whole river eel brushed with a sticky sweet sauce, which John just inhaled all at once and looked so satisfied like he was in heaven.
“AGAIN!” Said John with more enthusiastic poking at the menu.
“I wants ‘ta see th’ Yūshūkan ‘n Sensoji, ‘n we kin ‘ave a picnic in th’ parks, where’er we find tha’s nice. Weavah’s fantastic ‘ere,” He suggested and nodded at her plans.
“If dere’s time, ‘ow bout a trip ‘ta Fuji?”
“We will be busy mostly in the afternoon.. or early evening” Talia pulled the schedule she made on her calendar already finding slots of two to three hours here and there to visit tourist traps. “And the Tokyo skytree,Meiji Jingu. We have Wednesday entirely free, Mt Fuji then? We can see the views from the Odaiba feris wheel on Tuesday.” Talia had a certain joy to her voice to explore the city with John. “There is only one designer I am interested in on Wednesday so I will live stream the runway on our way back in the evening if you do not object.” It was at 9.30 pm they ought to have been heading back to the city by then. “I have an idea...we will head near the mountain Tuesday after the show, I’ll book us accommodation nearer the mountain so we can truly have a whole day to explore it. Does that sound good?”
“Parks...yes absolutely we must visit Shinjuku for a pick nick. Alright, we will pay our respects to Senso-ji“ she agreed with a beaming smile and slotting activities here and there. “I wonder if we’re lucky to catch a sumo match in Ryogoku Kokugikan, if not the stadium will have some sort of tourney. Boxing perhaps” Talia wondered and she’d check later when they were in the hotel and comfortable.
“Maybe Disneyland on our last day” she joked but was that such a bad idea.
Talia didn’t know most of the dishes John chose for she was a fussier eater. “Butter? Let me try” she leaned in to be fed engawa nigiri and he was right it was delicious almost creamy.
“You’d think you don’t get fed” John the ever eternal vortex for food but that kiss she planted on his lips messy with wasabi was all she needed to convey how much she loved him when he was happy.
“Pick me a dessert” Talia demanded fussing over John’s fluffy hair.
She then bit her lip. “Let’s just say that after staring at clothes all day I might be all too willing to stare at your birthday suit” she tickled John’s chin with her index and middle finger.
“Dessert and then we grab a drink to go and head to our hotel”
“Perhaps we might find a music venue of acceptable music to your ears too-”

diamond no ace translation chapter 78
this is not mine, a person on mangafox did this translation raws: https://tieba.baidu.com/p/5116923798
Chapter 78: The note Opening note: Next Summer is coming, only 2 months to go. (Actually 1 and a half to be precise) Student: You saw that? (implying the article). Yeah yeah I read it. What's that? We won. Isn't Hakuryu a Senbatsu Best 4 team? Mima will go pro for sure right? Sawamura senpai is the 2nd year one? Some girl: Hey, I read this. Another girl: You did well. Black hair girl: The picture in this is really good (well-taken), I want it!! Sawamura: Well well, that day I got saved by our fielders. It's not something to be making a big fuss about (LOL) Girls:... Sawamura: The real deal is Summer you know. I can't get too delighted with just good pitching in one match. Fufu. Blonde hair girl: What's up with this guy...gross Black hair girl: You're pleased right! You have to be so pleased you're acting like this isn't it!? Sawamura: There's no way I would be in spirit now is there? Girl: It's enough, just revert to normal. Get excited!! Get excited with that stupid smile of yours like always!! Kanemaru: That bastard, he's been fawn all over... Haruno: ' Morning. Everyone has read that article it seems. I wish I could have been able to see it myself, the Hakuryu match. Kanemaru: righ..right. Haruno's thought: The win against a strong school, Hakruyu High, was a boost to the confidence of not just Eijun but also everyone in the team. During the time the main force team went on the campaign, we, the ones left behind were also completely busy throughout the Godlen Week with both the training and matches. With Yui and Sachi senpai gone, the one who were nervous was actually me. However, the feeling of delight when we win a game is also the same for the B-team as well. There were contributions from the fresh recruits as well as spirit shown from the 3rd years. I got a real feel that the whole team is heading towards Summer. With this if Furuya's condition is improved then...slowly and slowly Summer is approaching. Ah, that's right regarding the shirt numbers...I didn't understanding it in the previous year but this year, both the senpai and 2nd years are well aware of it...Why the roster number is limited to only 20. Should I put this thought into the daily journal...it's so tough. ----------In Class 1-A--------- Students: How's Okumura kun's condition today. He's quiet for now. (this kid is already pretty popular with the girls) ----------Previous day in the video room--------- Okumura: The first pitch that Miyuki Senpai wanted against this Clean up batter was clearly an outside course, he was holding his mitt there... Sawamura: That...that was because I got stiff in the previous pitch Okumura: So you got stuck huh. Then, you got saved by the fielder as a result... Sawamura: Wahahah exactly. Nothing less from the white laser of Shirasu senpai. Okumura: Please don't speak so proudly when you're the very person that got hit. However, admittedly the way you changed gear afterwards was great. Sawamura: Right? I persisted at that moment. Seto: [He's researching pretty thoroughly Koushuu] Asada: [It would be great if those two were to get along--] ----------Back to present--------- Yui: [I wonder what kind of expression was that. I thought that he is a person without ulterior motives under this words but...] Masashi's stomach is grumbling Yui: We're only at the 2nd period, can you make it to afternoon? Masashi: That's impossible, I'll be dead before afternoon. ----------Team meeting--------- Kataoka: Today will be no throw. Fielding practice and free batting will be carried out as instructed, after that, there'll be a lower body training menu for you. Team: Yes sir! Kataoka: For now, I'm returning the notes of the battery individuals first. I've written a general comment on your GW performance. First up, Kawashima, Kaneda. Kawakami. It will be your responsibility to pull the pitcher team okay. Kawakami: Yes sir! Kataoka: SAWAMURA Sawamura: Yes sir! Kataoka: There are too much misspelling, you should check it well before submitting it. Don't try to cover it up with just your feelings/spirit. No matter how good pitching you do in a match, I won't be putting any player with a failing mark on the bench you know! I'm intending to let you start the match against Naruta High this weekend so you prepare yourself well. Sawamura: Yes..yes sir! Yui: [Speaking of Naru High, they're a strong team of Chiba] Ono: Continuing from the Hakuryu match... Kariba: If he put up good result in this match...In fact...isn't he our current Ace? Kataoka: FURUYA. Make sure you read it well and think about it carefully. Next Miyuki. In Sawamura Note: Under the funny gibberish Sawamura writes, Kataoka comments: Are you messing with me? I don't have time to go along with this. Sawamura: Damn it, this method was wrong huh...I have to come up with another method next time. Then he reads more comments from Kataoka: "It seems you're not satisfied with the content of your pitching in the Hakuryu's game. The opponent is a tough foe possessing a mobility that's the best in the Nation. I don't think this win was due to you got lucky or just a coincident. Up until now, you have never given up on becoming the Ace and earnestly trying to move forward. You climb one step to another up the stair. I think that it because it was you that brought about this result. (*can't make out Kataoka terrible handwriting on this next page* but next) I'm looking forward to your next pitching performance" Sawamura who seemed to be touched: Wahahah, It's been a while to be back on my home ground, let's go wild to the maximum! Kanemaru: So noisy, don't suddenly yell out in a loud voice. Sawamura: Wahahah Kanemaru: What's with you all of the sudden! Today is no throw you know. Sawamura: I'm gonna do it! I'm a do it man!! Furuya looking at his note, in it said Kataoka: "I was glad indeed that I didn't let you start the match today against Hakuryu. We did won the 2nd match but the content were far from good. Power-reliant pitching, the poor handle of the runner on base, your walk count didn't drop, I can't see the image of the pitcher you're aiming for. The "Japan No. 1 pitcher" you're referring is what kind of pitcher? Regardless of what kind of goal you have, it's not something that you can suddenly reach in just a day. It's something you have to work towards to and accumulate from day to day to day. Think about how should you spend a day, what do you have to do on one day to ...(continue)" Ono and Yui: Furuya, let's go. Furuya: Okay

Sorry for this being late. (Also there seems to be some problems with the raws since I couldn’t put the first two images together nicely. x.x)
The scanlated chapter is out already so you guys can just check it out. (I just wanted to put up some nice panels of Sawamura and Miyuki.) Here’s a short summary if anyone’s interested: Sawamura doesn’t manage to pitch the splitter and Mima is walked to first base. The next batter hits the first pitch to right field but Shirasu gets to it and throws to home, allowing Miyuki to get one out. With Miyuki leading aggressively and Sawamura becoming less tense, the battery gets the next batter out with a strike out with pitches to the inside and a final change-up.

Pizza in Ebisu. Look closely and you'll see the eyes on the shirasu (tiny fish, typically served raw with soy sauce). Also on this delish dish was cheesy buttery goodness and grilled scallions. #bonbonvoyage (at Spring Valley Brewery Tokyo)
