the man
(excuse the trash quality and half-assed shading)
introducing tumbleweed ! he is a middle aged canyonwing male. canyonwings are one of my fantribes, i’ll be leaving some information on them below ⬇️
canyonwings
canyonwings are mostly canyon dwellers who live on the continent of pinyra (fan made continent). they live in the arid regions of pinyra, on the east.
they are medium-large in size, with relatively thin bodies (a bit beefier than most sandwings though), and very tough hide covered in small spiky bumps. they come in shades ranging from very light to very dark. the most common colours are brown and grey. they have large tail clubs covered in spikes with a venomous stinger protruding from the end. they are inspired by deer as seen with their antler-like horns.
canyonwings can withstand intense heat, and spend about 65% of their day in the air. they have great stamina as a result. living in such vast canyons where prey blends in pretty easily, they have been blessed with sharp eyesight. they also have a venomous stinger as previously mentioned which can kill full grown dragons if injected in the right spots (except canyonwings who have evolved immunity to their own venom). they also can breathe fire, which comes out in the preferred form of a fireball. their fire shot limit is very low. only 3. and takes about an hour to recharge, so they mostly rely on their stingers, talons, and jaws for hunting/ fighting.
canyonwings are ruled by queen ravine who is nearing her retirement at age 96. her daughter princess coyote will soon be taking her position as queen. in pinyra tradition, all tribes have a queen who rules till old age until she retires and then chooses the next queen as a way to avoid any unnecessary killing.
canyonwings are very solitary, most living alone or with a partner. it’s common to see lone huts scattered around the canyons. there are a few towns where the more extroverted dragons live. it’s also very common for canyonwings to travel around the continent with traveling tents as the tribe tends to enjoy exploring. café’s are also relatively common around the canyons. the tribe is known for their amazing coffee.
fun fact: they have southern accents
i’m sad cause i don’t have my ipad and couldn’t draw a picture of tumbleweed coloured but oh well. hope the wof community likes my fantribe 😺.

character asks. Turtle, Indigo or Albatross wof? you don't have to do all of them :)
Oh I'm doin' them all alright
Turtle
How I feel About Them: Positive!! I've always really liked Turtle and related to him a lot in that regard. He's just a lil' guy and I think he's cute and sweet. Always had a soft spot for him
All the Characters I Ship Romantically with Them: none.
Non-Romantic OTP: TURTLEWATER!! QPR TURTLEWATCHER GRRRAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! Tearing apart the walls and frothing at the mouth theY'RE SO CUTEEEEE. Like they're just autism4autism and just GggrgrgrgRGGRGRGRGGR I love them,,,
Unpopular Opinion: Hm, I don't think I can really think of an unpopular opinion per se. I think my hottest take is that Turtle's refusal to change or act is a pretty interesting part of his character that is oftentimes ignored. A lot of things are his fault, namely Anemone's animus magic, just because he's scared of being witnessed and shoved into the spotlight. Tackling that sort of guilt and anxiety would be fun to see
One Thing I Wished Happened in Canon: Mhhh...hm. Well, not Turtlejou. Turtle is an aromantic character in my heart you cannot change that. I wished that stupid ass love spell never happened that's for sure
Indigo
How I feel About Them: Pretty nice! I wanted to make a fic about Indigo using this quirky silly AU where Turtle never realized that Indigo was still in the statuette and spent his entire life looking for her..only to then die and for Indigo to be released from it when Darkstalker's scroll burned. Indigo I don't think about too often, but when I do it's mainly about that scrapped fic. I could never figure out a proper plot to justify writing it lmao
All the Characters I Ship Romantically with Them: Fathom, duh. I'm not too terribly crazy about other ships, but yeah Fathigo you can't go wrong with
Non-Romantic OTP: Hmmm..again, I don't really think of Indigo too terribly much to form too many opinions on what her relationships are like. I do like her interactions with Clearsight though, those were fun
Unpopular Opinion: I don't think there's enough discussion around Indigo to even have an unpopular opinion. I guess it's that Indigo seems to fall pretty flat in terms of canon and especially fanon, where she's more or less relegated to being Fathom's love interest. I think she can be really interesting and fun, but I would like seeing more attention on her character. I think her relationship with Lagoon and Pearl and being a common SeaWing is neat. Same with her general attitude and trauma relating to Nearly Dying. Idk
One Thing I Wished Happened in Canon: Dunno uhhh... yeah. I think just more of her, but also she was pretty good already in canon
Albatross
How I feel About Them: THE GUY THE GUY THE GUYYYYYY!!! Killing him tossing him against the wall hugging him crying into his shoulder telling him everything will be okay stabbing him 5000 times with a spear pushing him into a ravine GRRRRRAHHHHHHHHH!!!
All the Characters I Ship Romantically with Them: 0. Aromantic Albatross the beloved
Non-Romantic OTP: My precious OC, Marlin. For some context, in my fic and general headcanon'd backstory for Albatross, his wife is named Marlin and such. I've already talked at length about Marlin but yeah :]] Love her
Unpopular Opinion: Albatross is what Darkstalker fans make Darkstalker out to be and then some
One Thing I Wished Happened in Canon: Albatross winglet. Where is it

Wowew I'm back!! I know nobody noticed becausi have lit one follower, however I'm back in my nerd era. This follows up with a nerdlike post from my other acc, Funguyss. Uhm beware its wings of fire, the books, and not really my usual posts besides art
Tumblr media
New wof OC, Envy!! He's from the fictional continent of Libellula southwest of Pyrriah and southeast of Pantala, which was founded by ancient dragons of Pyrriah. He also belongs to a fan tribe I made called Cavewings.
Cavewings live in caverns, ravines, and canyons. They inhabit most of Libellula alongside the Briskwings, Marshwings, and the Mantiswings who migrated from the underground of Pantala.
The Cavewings are distant relatives to bats (which is how their tribe is closest related to mammals) aswell as the Nightwings. It is said that the Cavewings were Nightwings who migrated to Libellula and were forever cursed by a traitorous Animus nightwing. They are almost exclusively nocturnal and barely leave their caverns.
They have black or dark gray scales with Multicolor tints, and also have fur! They have wings like that of bats and can cling to walls with them. They have a size comparable to Rainwings but slightly bigger.
They have very light sensitive yet big, strangely formed eyes. They have decent dark vision, but impeccable echolocation. They produce high pitched clicks and most have squeaky voices. They also have a high intersex population. They cannot breath fire but have an ability similar to the bacteria in the spit of Nightwings. It's more like rabies, and causes the bitten animal to go crazy and slowly end up dying. They also have large ears to hear better. Like nightwings with a tear scale, it's a rare attribute to have a white eyelash (like he does), but it doesn't symbolize anything. The don't have any nightwing powers in general.
It's common for Cavewins to be named after negative traits/ideals and also physical attributes (ex: Sass, Cowardly, Resent, Starfur, Smallwings) These naming traditions are to promote loving and embracing "bad" things about yourself.
Their tribe isn't nomadic but don't have specific kingdoms. They have a main cavern where most Cavewings stay, but they all stay in caverns scattered across Libellula. These are called colonies. All colonies have leaders but they revolve around a queen, Queen Recluse
Libellula doesn't have any territories for any tribes, most just live in any habitats sustainable. Briskwings are the most nomadic, who pack up their camps every change if the season across unspecified spots in highlands or outback.

Okay I could be entirely off mark when it comes to this but I need to share this anyways-
I just had this mental image of WoF Kuusuke just, worrying about his missing twin. Like, the Skywing Queen probably told him about her founding him, alone and abandoned. She probably told him that he was probably dumped in favor for a twin with more venom.
But he has access to maps. He has access to books on the various cultures of the other Dragon Races because to be an effective spy he would have to know this stuff. So he would know that no Rainwing would go that far to get rid of an unwanted child with no venom.
So that means his egg was stolen, and his missing twin is probably with their kidnappers.
Then he finally meets his twin. His twin who acts like he's never sun bathed before, and probably did. Who's grumpy and reserved and acts the opposite of attention grabbing, instead trying to hide. Who's with the Dragonets of Destiny, who also act atypical of their kind.
And Kuusuke is smart. He's smart and he's a spy. He knows how to read people.
And if that doesn't blare the alarm bells that his brother was abused, alongside his fellow Dragonets, I don't know what does.
below the cut cause its long and has spoilers for future parts of the fic
yeah kuusuke was sent on a long trip to study rainwings pretty early (with large threats should he fail to return to the sky kingdom) in order to let queen ake be more knowledgeable on a tribe shes just realizing shes lacking info on, and now that she has a rainwing under her care/command, she wants that info, and the knowledge of that venom...when he tould the queen about it in confusion, she placed easily that he must have been a rainwing twin and told him that explains why she found him abandoned, for he is venomless when he shouldnt be.
it took awhile for that to happen because kuusuke had to grow up, and until he learned that from spying on rainwings (with skywing guards also studying them, of course), him and the queen had no clue about rainwing venom. but once they did that idea is accurate
its quite fitting, considering he plays the role of a fireless skywing twin.
and so when the dragonets of destiny are discovered not too far away from the ravine he was found by, and theres a rainwing with them who has the same purple accenting patterns on his body as kuusuke when hes not disguised...kuusuke puts it together quickly, even if kusuo doesnt because kuusuke is disguised as a skywing and kusuo has no reason to believe this guard thats oddly fascinated with him isnt a skywing, let alone his supposedly dead twin
but yeah, none of the DoD act like their species...except for aren. hes prickly and prone to violence like many sandwings. the nightwing is anxious and cowardly. the mudwing cares far too much about other tribes. the seawing is scared to get her claws dirty in even the slightest manner. the rainwing is the second most violent member of the group, and falls asleep so often its obvious hes never had a sun time in his life. even the skywing queen realized that her best spy couldnt be left permanently sleep and provided him a few hours a day to sunbathe.
not to mention the fact that kusuo has been subsisting on the wrong diet his whole life (technically. but eating purely meat isnt good for rainwings, even if theyll live). again, even the skywing queen realized that she should probably let kuusuke eat what his diet requires if hes going to be in best shape
kuusuke actually decided to bring food personally to kusuo when the DoD were prisoners (much to the queens suspicion), and he was honestly downright sad that his probably maybe twin rainwing didn't even know what a watermelon was or how to eat it
love this ask. hit the mark for the au for the most part and i love talking about my aus. tysm for the ask!!
also rip kuusuke btw, he didnt get venom AND he didnt get animus magic, which is a genetic trait

FOR THE QUESTIONS
👀😅🤲
OMG OKAY YOU ACTUALLY GOT ME AT A REALLY GOOD TIME JEJJAJJJSJHSHHSHSHH
👀 Tell me about an up and coming wip please!
Yeah know that angst? Yeah, uh, it’s gonna make you feel things. Or nothing at all if you’re cold and emotionless like me 😎😎😎
😅 What’s a story or scene you’ve created that you’re a smidge embarrassed exists?
There’s only one scene in my WOF fic that I wrote when I was like, what? 12?
It basically goes as follows;
Mudd= Mudwing
Sunny = Sandwing
Silver = unknown type of dragon that looks like Windshear from httyd rtte (love that show go watch it)
I think the Seawing’s name with like Jumper or something??
Mudd: We need to go into these caves so that the guards won’t find us. Silver: Wow. Sunny: the rains are flooding the caverns! Mudd: Everyone knows how to swim, right? Silver: About that… Mudd: WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO SWIM???? MAYBE YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME BEFORE WE DECIDED TO GET STUCK IN A FLOODING ravine??????!!!!!!!!!!????!?!!?!?! Silver: I forgor:3
🤲 Would you please share a snippet of a wip?
NOOO I WANTED TO KEEP IT A SURPRISE😭😭 But okay, since you’re the bestie 👹
Wasteland. That was the best way to describe the once prosperous earth; Wasteland. Every since the Kraang came; dried up all the seas, cut down all the trees, enslaved the people of earth, there was nothing left.
Only thing remaining was a group known as “The Resistance.” They were the most well known out of all the scavenging and broken groups fighting against the Kraang.
They were the most well know, and infamous...

Just a quick info dump about my wof fantribe ;v;
Name:
Warrenwings
Base:
Tumblr media
Name Meaning:
A network of underground tunnels and burrows - a reference to how Warrenwings live:
Naming Convention:
Warrenwings name their hatchlings after geological features, ground-nesting wildlife, precious stones and insects. Sometimes, they are also named after fungai or plants that grow in little light (thus cultivated underground).
Home/Habitat:
Vast burrows underneath the dry savannah on which they live. The burrows are ever expanded by teams of builders - when they aren’t expanding, they reinforce the older tunnels and burrows. Cave ins are only really common on mining levels, where the poorest dragons mine precious metals and gemstones.
Burrows are usually quite spacious, regardless of ranking, as Warrenwings are usually half the size of Mudwing at full growth, though Royals can have over double the space of a commoner.
Average Lifespan:
A well fed warrenwing may live for up to 500 years! But it is exceptionally rare for them to exceed more then 250 in their current environment. As they get older, warrenwings become more sluggish and reptile-like, preferring to bask and wait for food to come by than engage in energetic bouts of hunting.
Government:
King and Queen rule as a unit with a council of elders. While the King and Queen have the majority of the power, the council of elders vastly outnumber them, and are made up of the oldest dragons in the tribe. With their wisdom of the tribe’s history, and the experience to provide guidance, they help the king and queen make vital decisions, and feed back from their communities directly.
Any royal can challenge their parents for the throne once they complete a sacred trial, known as “Night of the Long Hunt”. During this trial, the royalling must hunt down a male lion and bring his carcass to the tribe for a great feast. Some never do this, and thus abdicate from the throne - but Ravine, the current Queen, bought back a fully grown male to prove her worth as a strong leader, a strong fighter and a good tactician. She picked her mate, Beatle, before she became queen, and thus he inherited the title King after she had proven herself worthy and her mother, Meerkat, had stepped down.
Abilities:
Warrenwings are exceptionally hardy dragons; what they lack in size and speed, they make up for in strength and stamina. Their tough hide is built to protect them from potential predators, like large wild cats and hyenas. Their wings are too small to let them fly for long distances, or at all in some cases, but they make fantastic shields against predators or other warrenwings.
Aside from their horned snouts, shovel claws, thick leathery wings and thick tails, often equipped with clubs, spades or spikes, they have a cement-like mixture they can fire from glands at the back of their throat - used both for offence and the building of their vast burrows.
Diet:
A warrenwing is not a picky eater. While they are classed as omnivorous, they must get protein in their diet; through grubs they find in the tunnels, or kills bought in by the hunters. Fruits are enjoyed as a special treat during the rainy season, and mushrooms and root veggies make up the rest of their food. It should be noted that they cannot digest leafy plant matter well, but will eat it if there is nothing else. They do need to consume porous rocks regularly to produce their cement like spit.
Colours:
Common Primaries - Earthy browns, stone greys, mossy greens, charcoal black, sandy yellows.
Uncommon Primaries - Snowflake obsidian, dark greens, fleshy colours (scaleless)
Rare Primaries - Leucistic, piebald, melanistic
Legendary Primaries - albino, opalite, opal, any deep/bright colours
All Accents- rare mineral/gemstone-like colours; blue/green/red/turquoise/purple/yellow/black/etc
ROYAL ONLY - opal
Traits:
Common - underbite, short nose horns, short horns, chin spines, short ears, hard scales on legs, leg spines, short spines down back, short spines on tail, spade on tail, small wings, wing claws, short tail, shovel claws, smooth underbelly
Uncommon - rabbit ears, ram horns, long horns, branching horns, rabbit back legs, extra row of leg scales, medium wings, gecko tail, club tail, medium leg spines, plate underbelly, scaleless
Rare - blindness, starnose, drillnose, droopy ears, long nose horns, double horns, spine mane, tusks, large wings, clawless wings, paws, stegosaurus plates, thagomiser tail
Legendary - snake mouth, tremorsense, antlers, short fur mane, wingless, long tail, arrowhead tail, crocodile tail (dragging)
ROYAL ONLY - secondary “gemscale”, gem markings by the eyes, triple layer arm scales
Continent:
Warrenwings live on an island that is largely vast scrubland, desert and savannah along the equator, where it is very hot and often very dry. Their home is known as Platynus (Genus of beetle), and is rather unforgiving in its nature. From space, it looks like a dragon coiling back on itself, trying to bite it’s own tail. It should be noted it is significantly smaller than the other continents. While there are mountain ranges around the fringes of the Platynus, and there are several active volcanoes dotted about, it is mostly arid, with droughts running riot when the sweltering dry season extends for longer than a month. Because of this, Warrenwings view water as sacred, and often try to cultivate pools of water in their underground home.
The wildlife present on Platynus are hardy species. There are several kinds of dromedary, and some wild species of horse. The most common large predator is the hyena, or lion, which will prey on small and weak warrenwings if given the chance. Meerkats, wild hamsters and moles are commonplace in the scrub, and many species of vulture and hawk make their home in the trees. At first glance, Platynus may seem like a lifeless plain, but it is teeming with life. Elusive elephants and rhinoceros can be found in the quiet corners of the continent, away from the bustle of the wildebeest herds and the jaws of giant crocodiles.
Religious Beliefs:
Warrenwings find harmony in the natural order of their world; the circle of life is something many hold dear as a solid belief. Elephants are seen as old Gods, wandering through the brush. Following them brings the promise of water, so naturally Warrenwings see them as sacred animals to be revered and respected. To kill and Elephant, or eat its carcass, is a great taboo. The hyenas of the plains are seen as harbingers of death; seeing a pack when you are alone is a sign of terrible things to come. Vultures are seen as guides - whether that is a guide to the afterlife, or a guide to your next meal, depends on the vulture.
As the concept of Kings and Queens is relatively new to Warrenwings as a united tribe, some side warrens have unofficial leaders, who are often revered as wise ones. These are often old female Warrenwings, who pass the knowledge of tunnel carving, medicines and water cultivation down the generations. While unofficial, offending these old matriarchs is frowned upon.
Lore:
Warrenwings were only made aware of the outside world when a mudwing and icewing shipwrecked on their shores. It was an experience which shocked the tribe, who mainly lived apart and competed for resources in rival burrows, into connecting as one people. Knowing there were many tribes out there, ones that displayed strange and terrible powers, led them to form their current society. While the current Queen is aware there remains a lot to be desired, she is working hard to create a warren where her people can live together in harmony. She has been Queen for 10 years, and while her people like her, there is a stirring in the poorest parts of the warren. While not quite ready for a true rebellion, discontent grows in the mines.
Laws:
Warrenwings live by a simple rule. One must help the warren stay alive. Killing another warrenwing is only ever an option in extreme cases, and will rarely stand up against the Queen and her Council, unless you have evidence to support your side. Though the King and Queen are seen as the ultimate heads of the law, they can be challenged by the Council and dismissed if the Council deem it necessary for the good of the Warren.
Simply, the laws are thus:
Do not kill your fellow dragons
Do not force your love upon those that do not wish it
Be kind to those in need; share with them your water, your shelter, your food
Do not go out alone above ground, unless you have been told to do so
Never defile the water; do not steal it, do not soil in it
Never kill an Elephant, for they are sacred
The King and Queen decide justice, but are not above justice itself
Those who defy the law are tried by the Queen and Council, and testify before randomly selected warrenwings who will, along with the council, decide their fate. The worst case scenario for any warrenwing is exile, and that is not taken lightly by anyone involved.
Alliances:
None thus far. They are a private tribe and are well removed from the political spheres of the canon dragon tribes.
Rankings:
Rankings are decided by jobs, which decide where in the warren you live. Those who show talent during their training years are recommended to the Masters of those fields, who then decide whether or not to take them on as apprentices.
Lower class Jobs (poorest): Miner, cleaner, seer, sentry, gem refiner, gem cutter, guard, tunnel digger, mushroom farmer
Middle class jobs (average): Tunnel Architect, tunnel overseer, wiseone (only for older tribe members), hunter (above ground), gatherer (below ground), cook, weatherwatcher (above ground), lawkeeper, soldier, weaver
Upper class jobs (rich): Jeweller, dowser (one who finds water), royal guard, royal cook, personal seer (to royals), water cleanser, gem polisher, royal quarters cleaner
Royal Jobs (royal family only): Queen’s Guard, King’s Guard, water overseer, lead hunter, lead gatherer, lead lawkeeper
Animus Laws:
Animus dragons exist, but are often exceptionally rare. They are feared, but beloved by their kingdom, and reside with the King and Queen to be raised alongside their own hatchlings. They are only ever asked to use their power in extreme cases, like severe droughts.

are there any changes to wof or warriors that you'd make, if you could?
ah man!! this is such a great question…..
for warriors, i personally would’ve liked to see how being in starclan would affect the main/plot point-based cats that join it. like… bluestar and yellowfang, for example. they make a fair few of the cats there a little ooc imo at times (yellowfang, i’m looking at u) so i’d definitely make a novella dedicated to a few cats of starclan in particular: redtail, ashfur and whitestorm, to add onto blue and yellow’s thought processes and how they change and develop over time. i would’ve liked to see through their eyes when the first wake up there, hear their thoughts on the things they see and learn a little about their tactics in order to engage with the world below. see them change through chapters over time
i also would rewrite the whole thing between leafpool and crowfeather. they just… had no chemistry whatsoever - the start of their relationship having been made up from simply staring at each other momentarily (in shock from her end, concern and frustration from his) back when he helped her clamber up the side of the ravine. and then she started randomly fawning over him after that - once they’d separated. it gave no indication that he liked her in that way in any form tbh…
i would make crowfeather have time to grieve rather than force him to jump into a relationship straightaway and grow as a cat from it (and make sure that there aren’t just forced het couples everywhere tbh…. it’s fine if they have chemistry between them but, there’s quite a few that really… don’t. and also allow space for developing same sex relationships or more cats that don’t want to be in one at all)
in wof… definitely darkstalker’s transformation into peacemaker. it felt wrong and rushed and didn’t give darkstalker the time to breathe and think. i honestly felt it was an underhanded trick that could’ve been changed up by giving him that choice; to make him more human for a short moment, like we’ve seen aspects of in him before. so that we feel for his plight before he becomes someone altogether brand new
it’s such a shame how it was handled as well as… i usually absolutely love reincarnation based things but yeah. as much as a i love peacemaker himself, i would’ve ensured that everyone involved in the whole strawberry deal gave darkstalker a chance to work through it all himself, to talk to him and let him know just how terrible he’s been
to reassure him that he could be happier having a fresh start without the burden of his own powers and powerhungry ambition on his shoulders

I could imagine them living in rainforest caves and deep in mountain ravines!
The canon WoF dragons would totally use them in ghost stories and probably slander them a lot, so maybe leaning toward nocturnal? That would mean Darkstalker-Era Nightwings would have been most likely to interact with them, so maybe they’d incorporate them into their culture somehow? But keep their true nature (friendly and maybe a lil’ shy?) from other tribes.
If that were the case their diet would likely consist of mostly bugs, small mammals and whatever else wandered into the caves. Also maybe roots? I reckon they’d share meals so maybe small hunting parties to venture a small way outside their caves during winter and such. I think their population would be low near the Skywing Kingdom, since Skywings can be dicks and probably instantly dislike anything remotely close to as big as they are.
Maybe they could have better luck interacting with scavengers! Since I think they wouldn’t grow to be as big as canon dragons, maybe they’d be less intimidating? It would be cute to imagine wyvern helpers in scavenger villages!
Wow this got away from me, but I just so loved the idea!
I would love to see a wyvern in WoF. Mostly because they could be inspired by bats and walk with their little wing claws and sleep upside-down.
