had the pleasure of introducing (part of) my family to bandstand earlier today...and it went about as well as i could hope for
we only made it through act 1, but promises have been made to watch act 2 soon
right this way seems to be their favorite song so far, and they seem to at least be somewhat following what's happening (well, some of them) 😅
anyways...
i tried.
#*sighs*#the story of being the only musical theatre nerd in the family#seems to be net positive so far (or they're just too scared to speak ill of it after i've raved about it...)#was kind of annoyed after my sister started singing at the top her lungs with her fingers in her ears#after i mentioned that davey was about use some...stronger language after love will come and find me again#and for the record she's definitely mature/old enough to hear it#so on the one hand: i applaud your efforts to stay away from such language#but also#PLEASE YOU'RE GOING TO SING OVER RIGHT THIS WAY#AND ALL THE DIALOGUE BEFORE IT#the “what's happening” from her in the middle of right this way annoyed me too#how did this turn into a rant#i'll pause there#anyways definitely will try to show her finding neverland next#that's definitely more her jam#and she was fine with newsies 😭#my mom enjoyed#i think#bandstand
