Ratoncito Pérez
The problem with folkoric characters sometimes is that it's not clear when one adaptation is what this submission is talking about or if it's just the generalized concept of an intelligent rat that takes your teeth and leaves you a coin. Of the many different adaptations of the character, this seems to be the one that makes the most sense to have a furbait ruling. He's got strong enough features and actual clothing to depict an anthropomorphic animal. He's got a good blend of human and rat features. I mean add some human-like hair on his head and you have Jerma. Anyway. Ratoncito is furbait. Godspeed you tooth fairy

Spain should have more representation in the media
And no, Spanish culture isn’t only Flamenco, bulls, paella and tortilla de patatas
Spanish has the 3rd best food in the world
Spain has traditions that most Americans WILL find offensive but are OLDER than the USA (semana santa)
not all Spanish culture is Andalusia, yes, it’s extremely rich in culture but the rest of Spain has also A LOT of culture. For instance, in Toledo (Castilla La Mancha) had for a long time 3 religions living together peacefully. Just Toledo has so much culture thanks to the 3 religions.
Not everything here is flamenco and bulls, in fact a lot of people are against bullfighting (I don’t have a really strong opinion on this bc they will be killed no matter what so we can eat them)
In Spain we don’t speak only one language, depending on where you are, the people speak Spanish and another language ex: in País vasco they speak Spanish and Euskera, which is older than the arrival of the Roman civilization
And some fun facts about Spain which I will be putting here whenever I think of one
In Almeria there is a rumor that Walt Disney himself was from here. There has been tons of books written about it and if you ask someone from Almeria they will probably tell you “that guy is from here”
The only desert in Europe is here in Spain, specifically in Almeria, Andalusia (there is another one but it doesn’t have the required things to be officially called a dessert
The first expedition that went around the world was Spanish
This should probably go unsaid but the American continent was discovered thanks to Spain bc Colombus wanted to go to India but needed the money and no king wanted to spend they’re money on him, but the catholic queen gave him the money and the rest is history (literally)
the Spanish anthem has no lyrics, but if you ask someone young they’ll probably sing you “Franco, Franco que tiene el culo blanco por que su mujer se lo Lava con Ariel” translation: “Franco, Franc that has the butt white bc his wife washes it with Ariel” (yes this is a real thing that probably Every Spanish person after the dictatorship has sang or at least heard once in their life)
there is a song called “aquí no hay playa” translation: “there is no beach here” that it’s about how our capital thinks they are the best in everything, that they are the capital of the world but when summer comes around, my, my, there is no beach here” and it’s the best thing to tell to someone from Madrid (but if you ask my mother who unfortunately is from Madrid she will tell you “Madrid has a beach called San Juan and it’s in Alicante”)
the oldest restaurant in the world is in Spain
You’ve probably heard about the tooth fairy, but here, we have the “ratoncito perez” which is the same as the tooth fairy except he’s a mouse.
there is a church called “la sagrada Familia” and it’s famous bc it isn’t finished yet, it started construction in 1882 and it isn’t finished bc Gaudi didn’t wrote or said how he wanted the cathedral to be, he had it in his head all. It’s said to be finished in 2026
Spain is such a wonderful country and It should have more representation

Day of La Rioja
Day of La Rioja is a public holiday in La Rioja, Spain, and is celebrated on June 9 every year. It marks the anniversary of when the autonomous community of La Rioja’s statute was approved in 1982. This beautiful picturesque region is known for its lip-smacking red wine and boasts of over 500 wineries. We firmly believe that there is no such thing as too many wineries but 500 sounds like a good number. The day is celebrated with full vigor in the region by organizing various events including exhibitions of works produced by local artists, traditional and modern music concerts, sports events, and, of course, cooking up some great dishes and washing them down with the world-famous La Rioja wine.
History of Day of La Rioja
The history of La Rioja is marked by territorial disputes and invasions. The territory of La Rioja was inhabited by the tribes of the Berones, Autrigones, and the Vascones during Roman times, while in Medieval times, it was often a disputed territory. After a Muslim Invasion in 711, La Rioja fell into the Muslim domains of Al Andalus. This was followed by more disputes and invasions, which were then followed by — you guessed it — even more disputes and invasions.
The territory was divided between the provinces of Burgos and Soria as recently as the 19th century. Even France had its say. Napoleonic forces took over the region during the Peninsular War, keeping it with the French till 1814.
Historically, La Rioja formed part of different provinces in the area but became its own province in 1833. It was called the Province of Logroño. The province was renamed La Rioja in 1980, although Logroño is still the capital city.
Today, this community forms the least populated region of Spain with over 300,000 inhabitants. It also has its own flag with the colors red, white, green, and yellow. The residents of this region take a lot of pride in their land. Other events like the Vendimia Riojana are also celebrated in the region. It is held during the third week of September in Logroño to celebrate the grape harvest with festivities, including a parade of carts and bullfights.

¡¡¡ LEANLO ESTA CHIDO!!! ❤️
Hoy cuentasela a tus hijos! ✨

First full day in Madrid adventures -
First full day Madrid- Our first full day in Madrid was a fun one. Becca and Matt did a quick run in marque Oeste and happened upon the temple of Debod, which is an Egyptian temple moved from Egypt when the Aswan high dam was built. Then we headed out on a walk to explore. Becca had read the night before that the “tooth fairy” in Spain is a must called “el ratoncito Perez” and that there was a kids museum dedicated to him in Madrid, we found the museum, but decided not to wait as it appeared we might need an appointment, there were still some cool displays about the ratoncito outside to hopefully coax Henry’s tooth out (and Buggy starting to get another loose one too). We then went to check out the Plaza Mayor which has hosted all sorts of Spanish historical events including heretics being burned at the stake during the Spanish Inquisition. We saw no burnings, just a pep rally for what Matt thinks was a mayoral candidate. We then checked out a fancy candy store we had been seeing all over and the kids and Becca loaded up some goodie bags (Matt and Nali Man just planned to pick some from everyone’s bags). We also saw the Puerta Del Sol and the famous statue of the bear with the strawberry tree that is the logo for Madrid. After this we split up and Becca took the kids to Parque Retiro and Matt/Chris went to the Puerta de Atocha train station in Madrid to book train tickets for the rest of our time in Spain as our train passes don’t allow you to book in Spain until you arrive in Spain. It ended up being a “take a number and wait" situation but after about 3ish hours we successfully obtained tickets for the rest of the trip and reunited with Becca and the kiddos at the Parque. After that it was off to the Mercado San Miguel where we hoped to pick up supplies to make dinner in. Turns out it is just a very hipster foodie market with all sorts of stalls selling ready to eat food (which we sampled a bit of). However, there were no real groceries, so we hit up a traditional supermarket on the way home and nail man whipped up some tasty pasta and chorizo for us to enjoy on the outdoor patio before calling it a night.
