“You’re late.”

Avi stumbles into the warm cabin and tries to slam the door shut behind him, but the freezing winds push back with the same intensity. “Sorry!” Avi says, forcing his whole weight onto the door to shut it completely. “Shift was longer than expected. I came as soon as I could, but then, you know, the blizzard came and…”

Ashei pops her head in from the door to the kitchen. She eyes Avi struggling to close the door, then strides across the living room and watches as he finally gets it closed. She reaches up and yanks Avi by the fluffy hood of his parka, forcing him close to her. “Take this off,” she says. “Get comfortable. I made you dinner.”

Avi looks at Ashei with wide eyes. Then, a wide smile. “You made dinner? For me? I thought that was below your station,” he teases, stripping off his outer layer of thick clothing to get more comfortable inside their home.

Ashei growls and pulls her hand away. “Do not make me regret it. I will feed your meal to the wolves if you keep that up.” She turns away from Avi as she speaks and heads back towards the kitchen she came from.

Avi hangs up his layers by the door and laughs “Haha, okay, okay! Won’t make any more comments, babe.” As soon as he’s in order, Avi walks towards the kitchen as well, but not before admiring the set-up that Ashei laid out on the dining table. It’s rather simple, at least compared to how Avi usually does it, but he doesn’t mind one bit. It’s her style, simple and utilitarian, but certainly not unintentional. He smiles softly, then enters the kitchen.

And there Ashei is, finishing up their dinner. “We’re running a bit low on the meat from our last hunt. Interested in going out again soon?” she asks without facing him. She’s working on setting the meal down on a platter to bring out to the table, though she doesn’t seem to be in a rush.

Avi takes it as his opportunity to cozy up behind her. He sneaks his arms around Ashei’s waist and rests his head on hers. “Hah, that caribou lasted us a while. But I would love to go out with you again soon,” he says, nuzzling into her soft black hair.

“It’s a hunt, not a date, Avi.”

“Oh, come on! You know you see it like a date, too.”

Ashei doesn’t respond. Avi glances at her and notices her cheeks have grown a soft pink. Before she can make a comment, he presses his lips against her warm cheek. A soft kiss with his still-cold lips. He tilts his head slightly so his nose pushes right up against Ashei’s skin in this kiss, to which he inhales deeply.

“…You are insufferably adorable,” Ashei whispers. She turns her head to face Avi, then presses her face against Avi’s cheek in a similar fashion, inhaling against his skin and kissing it at the same time. 

Avi kisses Ashei on the lips for good measure. It’s a quick peck, but it makes her as flustered as she would be if they had just made out. “But you love that, my Ashei.”

Ashei hums. It’s quiet and short, but it’s her version of a laugh that Avi can’t get enough of. “I do, indeed. You are also a very big distraction. You want to eat, yeah?”

“Gods, I’m fucking dying to eat right now. I’m still cold and starving. I’ll go to the table.”

“And I’ll be there with you in just a moment.”

Aida’s stern voice is the first thing Daisy hears as they return from the mission.

It is quickly followed by the girls protesting, Joy drawing out the word ‘Please?’ as Mellie says ‘Pretty please?’ over and over.

Robbie puts a finger up to his lips as he edges closer to the doorway; Daisy exchanges a bemused look with Mack and Elena.

“Oh, alright,”Aida relents.“You really have to stop being so cute, I can’t say no to you!”

“Don’t tell them that,”May says with a laugh.

Robbie waves the others closer and they all peek into the living room.

The girls are putting what must be all their hair clips into Aida’s hair, both Elena and Daisy flinching in sympathy. They know from experience that those little fingers tend to pull too hard.

May’s on the floor nearby, looking at a picture book with a happily babbling Alejandro.

She glances over to them and cocks an eyebrow.

Caught spying, they sheepishly file into the room to greet their kids.

“You’re staying for dinner, right?”Mellie asks May and Aida once the Mackenzies have left for their own home, then turns to her parents before they can answer.“Nan’s going to paint my nails for me. And then I get to do hers.”

Aida’s smile, to her credit, only wavers a tiny bit at the prospect.

Mellie remains oblivious, tugging on her namesake’s hand.“Can you make dumplings, lăolao?”

“Yeah, sure,”May says, with that slightly bewildered air she always has when asked to make food.

“You know,”Daisy tells Robbie later,“Out of all things, including her dad being Ghost Rider and one of her grandmothers technically being a robot, the weirdest thing about Mellie’s childhood is probably still that she actually likes May’s cooking.”

Uppast's Cats Tour Comments: Act 1

note: i'm referring to the cats by their show names, however I may use the actor's name for a specific comment!

Overture

They did this SO well! I definitely missed seeing the cast in the aisles, but they projected the green eyes onto the stage, and it was the perfect amount of creepy/weird/hypnotizing.

I absolutely love the lights slowly being raised while shining all the spotlights, it sets the vibe PERFECTLY

also saying this now: the orchestra was incredible!

Prologue: Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats

right off the bat, we’ve a super sweet Demestrap moment, with Munkustrap checking on Demeter after the car! It was adorable!

Devon's voice is SO good for Munkustrap, also the man is TALL OH MY GOD

Tugger didn't get his "can you say of your bite that it's worse than your bark" line, which I was a little disappointed about. However, Zach as Bill Bailey is absolutely 10/10.

Brianna… the babiest Sillabub… so precious... so small...

There were some Victor and Gus moments, with them either standing near each other or sharing looks/touches, so if anyone ships them, y'all got your rarepair moment!

The Naming of Cats

A handful of the cats got right to the edge of the stage where the lighting was, so they were all glowing, and it was the BEST vibe.

Taylor was staring into my soul during the last verse so now I can say I've been vibe-checked by Coricopat.

Invitation to the Jellicle Ball

Hyla is the PERFECT Victoria!!!!! She's so incredibly graceful, she had the sweetest expression on her face, and ugh it was flawless.

Paul is also just an amazing Mistoffelees.

Munkustrap had literally the sweetest moment with Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer and I almost started crying. Right before Jennyanydots' song, when everyone's getting into place, Mungo and Rumple immediately went to Munkustrap and were cuddling his legs, and he gave them pets, and just oh my god T_T

OKAY SO I ABSOLUTELY ADORE THE KITTEN SQUAD SO MUCH MY HEART

When everyone's setting up for Jennyanydots' song, after the nuzzles, the lights start to switch, and the kitten squad was trying to catch the lights on the ground while Munkustrap was looking at them with the fondest expression and i swear i cried a little bit over how cute they were.

SKIMBLE LOVES HIS WIFE SO MUCH AND WAS HELPING HER GET THE KITTENS INTO THEIR MICE COSTUMES

Plato, Alonzo, and Mungojerrie were great cockroaches, 10/10

The Gumbie Trio was so good! Their voices sounded amazing together, and they were all just having so much fun!

Rum Tum Tugger

The way Zach said "Who will it be?" was absolutely amazing, i loved it, 10/10 character introduction.

Jennyanydots stomped off when he interrupted her accolades, she was very upset.

Zach and Devon nailed Tugger and Munkustrap's sibling dynamic PERFECTLY, Devon was the best Tired Older Brother Munkus.

Yeah, this number pretty much confirmed Zach as my favorite Tugger.

Mistoffelees and Cassandra did some lounging together in the background on the car.

Chelsea's Bomba is absolutely *chef's kiss*, I adore her

Obviously Tugger and Mistoffelees did their little dance, and it was wonderful. I'm not sure if other shows had Mistoffelees do this, but he went between Tugger's legs at the end of his little solo and Tugger was just vibing.

MY FAVORITE MOMENT THOUGH had to be near the end of the song, Munkustrap was 100% getting into it, and Tugger went over to him and was teasing him, poking him, and it was the cutest brother interaction.

They did have the camera! Zach did some very Tugger poses, and it was great.

Grizabella the Glamour Cat

haha Tugger went to hide behind the metal bars on the furthest side of the stage away from Grizabella, I'm in ✨pain✨

Sillabub goes to touch Grizabella, Grandpa Skimble pulls her back and starts scolding her, I want to hug the baby.

No, but I did really love that moment. It's off to the side, but you can see him giving her a talking to, and she's trying to say something back, but he's very firm.

Mungojerrie egged George on to scratch Grizabella, George sweetie don't be mean.

Taylor has such a perfect voice for Grizabella, and I loved her look!

OKAY SO LAUREN AND CHELSEA'S VOICES

Lauren's voice is so smooth and suave, and Chelsea's voice has a little growl that almost made me pass out, like ma'am i'm in love? But their voices mixed together, as well as how slightly different they are was such a great choice, and I kind of hope that other future productions take note and have two actresses with vastly different vocals for Demeter and Bombalurina.

Bustopher Jones

Mistoffelees and Victoria go to great Bustopher together and it was the cutest thing, they were so excited to see him!

Munkustrap immediately grabbing Mungo and Rumple by the necks and steering the gremlins away from the Very Important Cat.

Tugger was keeping watch so Munkustrap could be silly with everyone else during Bustopher's number, and that's not something I'm forgetting. Usually, obviously, Munkustrap's sort of in the background, standing, watching, and not really interacting. But Tugger switched places, and was up on the scaffolding watching, and it was CUTE!

My Tuggandra crumbs, thank you Zach and Lexy, I'm indebted to you both.

Tugger literally was just lounging on the car during the end of Bustopher's song, just waving his arms around, and I love him.

Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer

Elana (Teazer for this show) had the PERFECT Rumple giggle!

They're so silly, I love them

They made the best facial expressions, especially when Mungo "stole" Rumple's pearls.

Very dramatic gremlin twins, jumping all over the place, not caring about anything!

They were so confident at the end of their song when they went to walk off, and immediately went into "oh shit" mode when Munkus, Plato, and Alonzo came out.

Run through the legs of Munkus! See Munkus, this is why you need to not stand with your legs apart when you're attempting to control kittens.

Old Deuteronomy

Saying it again, Devon and Zach are SUCH a good Munkustrap and Tugger.

The babies were so excited to see Old Deut! They could barely contain themselves, and then got cuddles! (Also Tanto was with the kittens and i love that for her, let her be a kitten!! I definitely got "big brother Cori/little sister Tanto" vibes)

Everyone's getting Deut nuzzles!!

Tugger did a VERY dramatic shimmy at his dad, and Deut laughed, and I cried.

There was a really sweet Jellylorum and Alonzo moment (def going to talk more about it in the Alonzo post), but my "Jellylorum is Alonzo, Tumble, and Pounce's Mom" hc is feeling SO VALIDATED TONIGHT

I've said this so many times, but I adore that Plato and Victoria get their own little solo before their Big Solo. It's so sweet, and Hyla and Adam have wonderful chemistry!

Tugger chases Bomba offstage before The Moment, and I love that for them

CUDDLE PILE!!!

Munkustrap and Demeter cuddled together in the corner away from the pile and I want to sob because they were just so sweet, her head was on his shoulder, and he was holding her, and literally everyone in this show has such good chemistry with each other.

Tugger looks up with the psychic twins during Grizabella's reveal, once again making me think that Tugger and Munkustrap have magic like their brother.

OH AND TUGGER DID THE STUPIDEST LITTLE DANCE WHERE HE WAS SHAKING HIS BUTT AND HAVING FUN AND MUNGOJERRIE LAUGHED AT HIM AND THEY HAD A MOMENT AND IT WAS GREAT

Jin Aizawa, Daina Kurogami, and Clio Delon!

Goth squad! Sadly, as often as the three of them are all seen together in fanon, Jin barely interacted with Daina and never interacted with Clio in canon. And the little bit of interaction he had with Daina was...not quite amicable lmfao. Regardless, these guys would all actually probably get along great after the animosity from that one misunderstanding got cleared up and Jin wasn't Super Offended at The Audacity Of Daina anymore lol

Daina apologizes to Jin, like "Hey, uh, whoops, turns out that weird blue nerd guy was the actual Cheating Bastard, sorry for the slander haha wanna hang out at Hot Topic sometime," Jin has already mostly forgotten about the incident and any remaining irritation dissolves immediately because Jin is chill because Jin is too tired to ever stay angry about anything for very long, and Daina introduces Jin to Clio at some point. That's the only reason I can see Jin ever really having for Becoming Aware Of Clio outside of some kind of tournament context maybe -- they both know Daina.

And *shoves Daina off to the side for a minute* Oh Boy, Jin and Clio. That would be Fun.

Jin is...completely unfazed by any and all of Clio's magic tricks, no matter how physically implausible they seem to be. In fact, Jin might even kind of Barely Acknowledge Clio himself at first. Clearly not to be rude and cold, he's just, uh, spacey. Basically stares right through the guy. Clio is Baffled.

And eventually Jin inevitably has a narcolepsy attack and Clio does his Dream Invasion thing for Maximum Mischief, that MUST be Impressive and SURELY Cannot Be Ignored, and hooooly shit what the fuck is wrong with this guy's brain. Jin's head is full of ghosts. What the fuck.

Clio has discovered that basically every time Jin tries to sleep he ends up in Nightmare Demonsville to the point that it doesn't even terrify him or anything anymore, it just makes it damn impossible for him to get much solid rest. Jin Has Made Friends With The Brain Ghosts But They Are Annoying And Cause Chronic Insomnia Because Holy Fucking Shit There Are So Many Of Them. It Is So Fucking Loud Inside Jin's Head All The Time.

And, to make matters worse, due to the prolonged severe sleep deprivation, Jin does not actually have to outright fall asleep for his Ghost Buddies to start coming out to play. When you're that exhausted, you hallucinate. Something something microsleep, etc., and are the Ghost Friends actually real or are they purely waking nightmares, or did Jin himself manifest them into reality the same way he made his bey avatar because Jormungand's aura DOES seem to be made of Screaming Damned Souls which WOULD seem to maybe suggest that, lol who the fuck knows, Jin's brain is a wreck, he probably doesn't even know, huh wait did that shadow over there just move

In other words, Clio discovers that Jin apparently hallucinates, and THAT is why Jin was Ignoring His Awesome Magic Tricks. Jin has to be aware that he hallucinates, or at least aware to some degree, because it happens so often, so if he sees something weird and Probably Impossible he just Assumes It Is Not Real at this point lmfao. Jin was not 100% convinced that Clio was real because Clio did nothing but Weird And Improbable Things.

It just seems like there are so many Possibilities for Jin + Clio interaction, because Jin is narcoleptic and always half-conscious and Clio can evidently plant himself in your head when you're asleep. Clio would probably make friends with Jin's 323 Brain Ghost Buddies. Daina would not have a clue what's actually going on, aside from the fact that the shadows keep moving in his peripheral vision whenever Jin is around but surely that's not ACTUALLY happening right, and he might try to discourage Clio from Playing Along With Jin's Obvious Hallucinations and Encouraging The Delusions, aaaand then Clio might drag Daina into Jin's head when he catches them both asleep at the same time like "lol hey bro check this shit out, THIS is why this guy doesn't sleep like a normal person," and Daina 1. is fucking terrified, and 2. suddenly has an even deeper respect for the sheer tenacity Jin has to Do The Shit He Wants To Do In Spite Of His Crippling Illness because holy shit how does ANYONE ever get ANYTHING done in that state. "Wow, no wonder this guy almost punched me when I insinuated I thought he was cheating, I'd be super pissed too if I fought tooth and nail through this Terrifying Bullshit all day every day just to be insulted like that by some rando in the hallway" etc.

And, it's a delayed reaction after all of that, but after determining that Clio DOES in fact exist and IS in fact doing all that Weird Improbable Shit, Jin would be appropriately Astounded And Impressed at Clio's magic and Clio would finally be content lmao

bakugou respects jirou as much as he respects uraraka ok and like, that may also be proven after the cultural festival. their band was like a constant thing, they sometimes play but sometimes it would just be jirou and bakugou. jirou would prolly give him songs that fit bakugou's taste and bakugou wouldn't admit it but he would be seen listening to it as he works out or in his morning runs and sometimes, when he's cooking in the dorms.

baku sometimes returns the favors, he's got good taste in music i think HAHAHA but he would send links to jirou without saying anything but jirou immediately understands. she doesn't say anything to not ruin the vibes yknow but like yea, they're pretty chill and they understand each other skksksk

I would have to let my followers here know that this is strictly my honest and personal observation (which most fans would disagree on). Regarding your question, my opinions towards not only jeankasa but all the other mikasa ships are neutral. I dislike being or having any negative feelings towards other ships & i prefer to focus more on the positive sides of my own rarepair OTP ‘s canoe haha 

Tbh, I was not big on the idea of jeankasa for quite some time UNTIL ch.135. Physical attractiveness factors sure, jeankasa’s A++ but from character dynamics, before 135, I perceive an existing imbalance. I also look into the characters’ astrological compatibility. Both Eren & Jean are Aries with self-centric tendencies that could ‘suffocate’ Mikasa’s Aquarius internally (unpopular opinion, don’t shoot me. I admire Jean’s character development in canon!) I also feel like after four years, Mikasa sees Jean as an excellent comrade/Squad Leader. I’m very sure she’s not oblivious to his existing feelings for her. (if she can notice Annie’s feelings for Armin, she would have noticed Jean’s for her). Mikasa’s being pushed around like a ball by toxic masculinity in her environment before or after Eren goes ‘rogue’. Too often people see her as an angry, broken robot with disconnected tether, which frustrates me so much.

However. 135 finally showed me how selfless Jean is & I’m all for that! [also, it made me see ReiKasaJean as a good OT3 ;’) ]

If we go by typical shonen formula, Jeankasa would be a potential endgame with the highest probability (*looking at Bleach & Naruto) xD But I don’t know, Isayama’s eccentric in his own way, anything is unpredictable with this amazing, talented madman and I’m all for that ride. He did promise he would hurt his readers. I’m ready to be hurt haha

However, whichever Mikasa & X ship ends together or whoever the endgame partner for Mikasa in canon would be, as it is gradually revealed in few months time when the series ends -- if Isayama believes that X can bring her the happiness she truly deserves, then I’m genuinely happy for her. Although, as a Mikasa fan, at this point I’d really rather she be on her own, discovering her Azumabito family origins, exploring self-love more, go on an adventure (with Armin and Annie) all over the world like Arya in GOT and adopts Gabi & Falco as her kids and raising them with Reiner as platonic co-parents wops I’m gonna stop here before i get any more new headcanon ideas. Too long has this woman be in a man’s shadow that she’s now finally liberated in canon somewhat and I’d like to see her soaring higher than she’s ever been. She’s tethered herself to Eren for 10 years now, I just want to see her be truly free for once. If she chooses Jean at the end of SnK, I’d hope it’s because she truly loves him & not because he’s always been there to pick up the pieces left by Eren. It would be unfair to Jean as well because he’d know she’d only settle for him because he’s just there. All in all, I’m happy with any loving, healthy Mikasa ship as the endgame :) I hope this answer is not too long haha Thank you again for the kind Ask!

AS FOR YOUR ACTUAL QUESTION, on the one hand I'd feel silly doing anything but acknowledging that dying on the job is ... probably the most realistic outcome for them both, considering. (Like, canonically, that WAS the outcome for GQ, at least unless Suicide Squad 2 says otherwise; and when Croc's not on the job, he's in Belle Reve. I somehow doubt he gets to retire with hazard pay.) But on the other hand, if realism were what I was here for, I wouldn't be writing fic about a SEAL doing magical black ops and the mutant crocodile man he's in love with. :D

So, yeah, I am 3000% here for them both assuming they'll die on the job, and being vaguely surprised when that's not how it happens—when they keep on going, maybe save the world publicly enough that nobody can get away with stuffing Croc in a box afterward; when it gets awkward to do anything but let them both retire quietly, in exchange for them not telling anyone what else ARGUS has gotten up to. Which with me at the wheel probably results in some angsty stupid thing where they both realize they were assuming they'd be together forever, but MAYBE THE OTHER GUY WANTS SOMETHING ELSE, oh no, and they don't talk about it for ALMOST too long but then they do, and also they bang. :D

And thanks to @amaronith, I also have epic schmoopy daydreams about the most ridiculous slow creeping found-family fluff you can imagine, where they're figuring their futures are going to end because of the Squad, but instead it turns out, like—that IS their future, and it's a pretty good one (Croc finding a mutant egg on a mission! Hiding it from everyone and sneaking it back to his cell! Looking after it like the Best Taciturn Crocodile Dad! GQ discovering it one day and helping him! AND THEN IT HATCHES and everything dissolves into mutant crocodile kidfic and protectiveness and parenting without realizing how committed you are until you are Real Committed ;-; because y e s. Does Croc try to give their crocodile baby to GQ because Belle Reve's no place for a kid? Does GQ refuse and instead wrangle some kind of special dispensation, because ARGUS wants to study the baby and GQ's not above using that as a bargaining chip? DOES THEIR BABY GET STOLEN BY EVIL SCIENTISTS, and there is a rampage and a big rescue mission and everything is hearts? PROBABLY YES :D). Which, by the way, dioscorea wrote accidental baby acquisition ALREADY and it's so good and I love everything about it. ;-; JUST A PSA.

And there is DEFINITELY some kind of longfic in my heart where ... like, GQ gets an opportunity on a mission somehow to dig the bomb-thing out of Croc's neck for him, and does it, and tells him to get the fuck out while he can; and Croc stares at him for a minute until GQ really yells at him because somebody's going to notice the bomb-thing signal going dark or whatever, and then does go; and GQ pretends to everybody else that Croc died on that mission, and assumes Croc's making the most of his freedom and that GQ's never going to see him again. ;-; But he's Okay With That because At Least Croc Got Out, and Probably Croc Looks At Him And Sees ARGUS Anyway, and It's Better This Way. ;-; BUT THEN he gets injured somehow and has to take like six months, a year, to recuperate—or even cursed rather than injured, and he's being put on furlough until it can get broken—and he lets himself be shuffled off to some ARGUS safehouse (except maybe he gets to pick which one, and picks the one close to a swamp because it ~reminds him of ~someone). And he's living out in the middle of nowhere by himself for like a month, recovering, doing PT, before one night he thinks he sees something move in the water. :D And he doesn't dare let himself believe it's Croc, but IT TOTALLY IS, and Croc tracked him down on purpose and doesn't leave, and they end up with this whole weird domestic routine where they're sort of living together in the marshy wilderness, and they don't talk about it until they do, and then they bang. /o\

So, uh, yeah. 13 stories on ffnet, and a few of those were also on my livejournal. I don’t have an exact number for livejournal, but it’s over 100. I’ve started moving some of those fics from my livejournal to ao3, now, so I’m up to 40. Only 23 of my ao3 stories aren’t also on livejournal  at this moment lol. And there are a couple of things on tumblr I haven’t moved onto ao3 yet.

I am unwilling to go down that dark and dangerous path. :|

14. Do you write down story ideas, or just keep them in your head?

I try and write down whatever jumps in my head, because I WILL forget things, otherwise. But I’ll spend days mulling over an idea, sometimes, before I am able to sit down and write it.

Back in eljay days I wrote stories with other people on occasion. Sometimes it was just writing comment fic back and forth at each other. Or writing different scenes in the same universe that went together. Nothing big.

I know I stumbled on ffnet myself, but I don’t remember for ao3. O: Pretty certain someone told me about it, but when I had livejournal I didn’t really use anything else.

17. Do you consider yourself to be a popular or famous author in your fandom(s) on FFNet/AO3?

Hm, I’ve never been a widely popular anything, though I was lucky enough to have some excellent fans on eljay, who would jump fandoms with me just because they wanted to read my stuff. And folk who were incredibly kind and generous with their praise no matter how many random things I churned out haha. I’ve always been thrilled if there’s just ONE person who enjoyed a story I put out! I’m pretty easy to please!

18. Do you have a nickname or fandom name for your readers?

19. Was there an author who inspired or encouraged you to write?

Anyone who writes is an inspiration to me. I see people putting up fic and publishing novels, and I go I WANT TO DO THAT, UGH. Because I’ve always been a writer, ever since I was teeny, and have never stopped wanting to do it. I’ve always been in love with words, and stories. (As I’m sure many others can relate: I used to get in trouble in elementary school because I would read as I walked, and it was EARLY elementary school, where you had to walk in lines with your class because they were afraid they were gonna lose you, and I could read while I walked because I would just follow whoever was in front of me to wherever we were going haha)

20. What writing advice would you give to a beginning author?

It’s 100% okay if you write something, and you’re really proud of it, and you go back later -- a week, a day, a month, two years, whatever -- and think: THIS IS THE WORST. That doesn’t ever really go away, because as creators we are constantly evolving and looking to improve, and often times something that is actually quite solid and gives many readers joy will be a thing that you facepalm over, later. Use that to keep writing, and try to remember that you are most definitely your own worst critic. At the end of the day, keep doing this thing because you love it. Your work IS worthy, even when you think it should be set on fire and scattered across the deepest ocean never to be seen again!

21. Do you plot out your stories, or do you just figure it out as you go?

A combo! Sometimes, especially for shorter things, I just get an idea, and sometimes I just think about it for a little while, and then I open a doc and I just go to town until it’s finished. Other times I start off by writing out the thoughts and building off of that, and sometimes I slip into actually writing it and then back to outlining. USUALLY I start writing a thing because I have a tiny spark of an idea, or a situation/concept I find interesting, and I have no idea where it’s going, and I just write to see what happens, and THEN I start plotting things out as I go, which can be one of the MOST frustrating ways to write a story. Anything big I’ve ever written (and I’ve written several drafts of several novels) starts out like this, where I have a random idea and I sit down and I write out whatever scenes crop up in my head, and then I start filling in the blanks, later. A lot of my longer fandom things also are like this. heading for a small disaster was me just sort of sitting around and thinking about an entirely different story, and then I had like, a half-formed idea for a single scene in my head, so I sat down and started writing chapter 1 to GET to that scene, coming up with stuff as I needed it, and by the time I hit the end of ch1 I was no where near my original idea, and had a bunch of other ideas, and THEN I started plotting things out.

22. Have you ever gotten a bad comment on a story? If so, what did you do?

I’m sure I have! Though I haven’t posted fandom anything for a long time, so I don’t really remember. One comment I do recall was not a BAD comment, it was a comment about a bad thing I had done in neglecting to tag something, and then I got all defensive because I was younger and even more stupid than I am now, and I was an asshole, which I regret. ):

23. Is there a certain type of scene that you have a hard time writing? (action, smut, etc..)

Action! Also, stationary scenes with multiple people that DOESN’T have action! Okay, ANY scene that has more than one person is tricky, though two people at least helps in pacing because it’s easier to intersperse dialogue, but you add one more person into a scene and I’m laying my head on my desk and CRYING. Transition scenes are also my bane, I have the hardest time figuring out how to move from point a to b. Basically: EVERYTHING IS DIFFICULT. That’s half the fun of writing something, though.

24. What story(s) are you working on now?

Too many, but I’m trying to focus on finishing up some longer things this year. Of course, despite that having been my resolution before the year even began, I have somehow found myself with two new longer fics than WHEN THE YEAR STARTED, ugh. disaster, magic!cowboy au, lyrias center, unicorn au, soulmate tattoo au, a second part to we can make our own way, the full version of back alley complete with smut and EMOTIONS, fight club au, ot3 modern day neighbors au, and all the christmas prompts I haven’t done yet, and I have like, two more chapters of picture perfect planned out that I just haven’t written yet, I AM HAVING A DIFFICULT TIME THINNING THE HERD, I 100% come up with more ideas than ever get written, as I’m sure most writers do haha.

Nah, I almost never succeed at stuff like that, and I get pissy if I fail, so I’ve learned not to put myself into that position if I can, because it just hurts my writing. I just write when I want, or when I have time even if I don’t want.

Hopefully! Though posting old stuff to ao3 has made me aware that my vocabulary has actually suffered over time, and I’m hoping to fix that!

I don’t entirely love anything that I’ve written. There are aspects of many things that I love dearly, though none of it really wins out against another. I’ll say: three of my orig novels are probably closest to being no 1.

CRYING. Crying is very easy, and so is laying my head on my desk and despairing that I will ever figure out how to make things work.

WORKING THROUGH THE TEARS. It is very easy to give up, and mope, much more difficult to grit your teeth and wrangle a story into submission.

Because I love the power of words. It’s magic. A written story is essentially an illusion spell. You put the right words on the page in the correct order, and behold! An entire world, with living characters, is born within the mind of a reader. And a single, minute change to any one of those words may shift the whole thing. It’s a constantly evolving formula, and full of surprises, and if you are particularly lucky and diligent you might even be able to spin an entire tale that grips people, shakes them up and makes them believe in something impossible, something that YOU created, from nearly nothing. T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons thatyou will die defending?

Not really. I’m a very flexible person when it comes tointerpretable lore and content, especially if it’s the type of HCs that thefandom collectively comes up with. Unless it’s a canon fact, I like to dabble orjust stay away from HCs in general. If I have to come up with some in my fics,then so be it. But most of the time these HCs are either super vague or onlyapply to the context in this particular piece or series of writing. Basically Idon’t mind switching HCs for charas frequently as long as it does notfundamentally change their own character. (HCs for hobbies and loves and habitsand relationships apart from their inner circle, etc. are all fine)

Honestly it just boils down to expectations lol I know myown limits, and I know not to be disappointed when canon updates end updebunking (popular) fandom HCs or my own.

I KNOW IT’S SO SAD

TG’s quality does seem to be going down a bit these last few chapters (I think the real problem started with the Touken romance. I swear I’m not being salty about a ship I don’t particularly like being canon, I just feel like the pacing was a bit bad…Touka’s ‘are you a virgin’ came completely out of the blue, plus Touken has hardly interacted in Re before the recent chapters. It’s been YEARS since they’ve seen each other, wouldn’t things have changed? Neither of them are teenagers anymore. Both of them have grown and changed, but Touka chose not to stay near Kaneki and watch his growth, while Kaneki had no way to see how Touka’s experiences gradually changed her. But Ishida decided to suddenly make it canon and then start focusing on the Touka-Kaneki-Mutsuki triangle to the point where it feels like he’s abandoning his other plot threads… kind of like what Isayama’s been doing lately.).

However, I believe that Ishida is completely capable of making things better if he wants to (remember, he still has the Hide trump card- bring Hide back in a believable way that nobody has predicted and also adds to the story, and I imagine most of the fandom will forgive everything that’s gone wrong in Re so far) so I’ll stick around. Plus, I’ve just gotten too attached to all the characters ;-;

Ugh, y'know, even if it wouldn’t fit very well with all the implied Mutsurie, I wish Ishida would just pull a plot twist and make Ken/Urie or Urie/Saiko canon.

1: Yeah, I don’t think that’s Mutsuki’s hand either (like you said, it looked pretty 'fresh’. Plus, I have no idea how Mutsuki would have gotten one of the limbs Torso cut off). The only reason I mentioned it was because of the parallel with Torso showing Mutsuki their own hand with a wedding ring on it…Ishida loves his symbolism so I thought this might actually matter to the plot.

2: I think it was probably either a stranger or an acquaintance, since she seems slightly surprised and not exactly 'happy’ to see this person, but not afraid or displeased either. I’m scared…why would Ishida not show us who it was if it wasn’t something important? If things went well Yoriko’s probaby just gained some knowledge about what’s going on (perhaps she’s been told where Touka is and why she can’t come to the wedding?), but if not…perhaps a villain’s blackmailing her…idk :(

3: I want to believe that too, but I’m not sure yet. If there’s a reason for Yoriko looking so serious then that might be connected with the mystery character who greeted her when she was out shopping.

Thank you, that really means a lot to me <3 What I’m really worried about right now is that I go to a piano 'hagwon’ (a cram school of sorts, I guess?) and this year they’re going to do a small concert. Everyone who goes to the hagwon has to play a song and I have no idea how I’m going to do this ;-; just trying to look a person in the eyes when I’m talking to them scares me, how am I supposed to get on the stage in front of a crowd (a small crowd, since everyone there to see the concert will be the parents/family of the kids participating, but seriously). Things are just a bit complicated XD

Honestly, you’ve voiced my thoughts perfectly. I can’t help but get irritated at all the changes that have been happening. For me, it started around the time we found out about Mutsuki’s past. I mean, can’t we have one character who had a nice childhood and isn’t insane deep inside? At this point, basically everything is overdoing it for me. Let them have a break. A nice moment. A single day without a centipede or someone dying.  TG is slowly turning into shoujo manga. A sick, twisted shoujo manga, but a romantic one. That is the one thing I didn’t want from it. It was actually nice to have a manga without pointless crushes which play an important role in the plot, for a change. Guess I was wrong.

Dude, I don’t care who he kills, if Ishida brings Hide back, he is automatically forgiven for everything and anything. Well, I would care if he killed characters like, but other than that, he’s free to kill anyone he wants (like Furuta (or maaaaybe Mutsuki, but I’d like it better if they redeemed themselves (though that might be difficult))).

I just… I want the cookie to be happy. And Mutsuki is definitely not making him happy.

Gaaah, so many questions and symbolisms, it’s making my head hurt. Here’s my theory: This is a huge setup for everyone to be happy. Mutsuki will run away to New Zealand or something and restart their life, Kaneki and Touka will get married (tho I don’t quite ship it, whatever, as long as they’re happy), Urie will realise he’s loved Saiko all along and she’ll be there waiting for him. Kanae is actually alive and so is Hide. Kanae and Shuu get married. Hide finds himself a nice girlfriend (or boyfriend, not gonna discriminate), opens a pet shop and is happy.

Everyone is happy. 

Okay, but imagine this au: ghouls don't exist and there's no reason for so much suffering. Kaneki and Touka are two kids who knew each other from school and now run a coffee shop together. The Q squad went ri the same class and Saiko alway loved Urie. He recently realised it. And so on.

Ah, I definitely know how you feel. I went to music school as well, and we had yearly (or half-yearly, depending on how long you’ve played the piano) recitals. My method of calming down was to imagine I was at home, alone and just practicing. There was no one around me, and it didn’t matter if I messed up. I could always start again. Also, the audience was vegetables, as far as my imagination was concerned. It did help.
