the company i work for decided that its switching from the german formal "You"(Sie) to the informal "you" (Du) in all of our websites so now we have to scour the entire database to change it and i quite frankly hate that, not just bc the unecessary extra work but especially bc its such a weird and unecessary change

i bet its bc everything here is getting englishfied (both literally and culturally it feels like, when my new boss talks its half in english bc every second german word is just replaced by an english one despite there being perfectly fine words for it in german too, its so annoying) and bc they want to sound more personal in hopes of getting more clients bc 'company is your fwiend uwu!!', i know this here is the amercian tm site so you wouldnt understand really but i do not want to be greeted with 'du' by companies, no, thats too personal, you dont know me and im not giving you my data, stay away!!

i guess thats how i would describe it .. the formal you is like a polite distance, like someone you dont know staying outside your personal space, but when its the informal 'you' it feels invasive unless i told you you can call me that, and that goes double for companies

maybe its a small thing that doesnt seem important but i cant stand it, im just a little part time worker doing data work so i got no say in it but the companies founder also announced hes giving his post to his kids some time ago so ...... since then theres been alot of changes and new projects that solely aim to imitate whats popular and whats done by other companies, despite ours being one that is, or used to be, intentionally different, like, that was the POINT, but i guess chasing trends is just too appealing for CEOs

i'm thinking about the guards outside aventurine's room in the reverie. stuck working a boring security job on THE planet of festivities, stationed outside a room in boring reality where someone's literally just sleeping all day. absolutely jackshit to do.

but there's no way aventurine would trust just any old grunt to guard him when he's that vulnerable; they had to have been hand-picked, personally vetted over years of working for him. it's no small feat to become someone aventurine trusts not to stab him in the back, even with the built-in insurance that if you shank your boss, he can't sign your paychecks anymore.

so they were familiar enough with him to know how he works, i.e., pulling off insane stunts and doing it solo. i have to think they're the kind of people who would've wanted to join him - not because they're sore about not getting to see the dream, but because they want to guard him IN the dream. you have a whole team of us, boss! put us to work!

and he keeps insisting no, he has to do it alone. it's too risky.

what could notorious gambler aventurine possibly find "too risky?" it's not that he thinks they'll slow him down or get in his way; it's not that he just prefers working alone or hates relying on others. that's what other people, in other departments, might think.

but these guys know: he does these missions solo because he doesn't want to risk their lives - that's the unacceptable risk to him.

(they also know not to ever say so aloud, because said notorious gambler has a reputation to maintain, and "worries about his employees' wellbeing" does not fit the image.)

Fun fact I had to wait like almost a month to watch dr s2.1 because I was still catching my friend up and wanted to watch it for the first time with them

However, this resulted in me being so starved of Ninjago content that my dreams started making up their own clips and trailers for Dragons Rising:

The first one was that a new elemental master of amber showed up (I knew Cinder existed at this point so I think my dream just copied that), and I felt legitimately and profound sadness over not knowing what had happened to Skylor.

The second was that somehow the gang ended up in a departed realm looking place, and Morro suddenly materialized out of a vase and started quipping at Lloyd. There was no big reveal or “oh my god this character is back!!” he was just. there. Sassed at the ninja, and disappeared.

like I know why it’s a fan favorite (nostalgia + perspective shift) but it has extremely low rewatch value for me. unfortunately the visual appeal cannot carry it.

Had a rare, nice rather vivid SP dream I woke up from this morning still lingering in my mind.

My dream self (either me as myself or my OC/NK) I guess finally delivering Karen's doll they found a few dreams ago. Except when I got to the McCormick house it was empty....I guess everyone was asleep. No idea how dream me even got inside but I gently left the doll on the couch along with a small dinosaur/stegosaurus plush...then woke up now still wondering if Karen got her doll and even if she likes dinosaurs... really hoping dream mission was a success. XD
