waow. thatsa lotta stars. i will do. three. my three most recent. because i have commentary about all of them.

i recently put up THIS FIC for the mcytrecursive. the title is from "whose eye is it anyway???" by jhariah (which i recently heard live!!!) bc that entire song is about revenge and what happens when you try to get it. important lyrics here are "If it’s an eye for an eye then we all go blind / If it came to it would you cross that line?" which generally just explains quackity's whole thing of getting revenge against techno for punching him out at wilbur's funeral (a fight which HE started, in the first place), and the lines "And the weight of your crimes weighing on your mind / Is it a knife or a lie is it in your back? / Is it all I need? Is it all I have?" which imo really is what eret's whole deal is in this fic. she's haunted by what she's done and is doing everything to try and not be that person, and maybe by helping others she can help! but. no. no, instead, her ex-boyfriend gets murdered in her living room and she has to call his CURRENT boyfriend to come pick up the body. lol.

i participated in the dsmp rare pair big bang and wrote a canon-setting courtly love au, because if there is one thing i have a special interest in, it's middle and early-modern english literature. the thing i want to talk about the most with that fic is all of the allusions to literature and all the characters eret gets compared/compares herself to. she is repeatedly compared to Tamora from Titus Andronicus for marrying her enemy's leader and becoming a pawn in his political game while also using him in return, which is kind of seen as a betrayal to her prior people; to lady macbeth for the way she is Fucking Haunted by her crimes; and to criseyde from Troilus and Criseyde for her role in her relationship specifically with quackity, in which she kind of winds up betraying him by not choosing to run away with him during/after manberg/pogtopia. she also gets compared to queen gertrude from hamlet for marrying the enemy king, at which point she fully just quotes the play because i love that trope.

and finally. ive been doing a sweeney todd au. the one thing i REALLY want to talk about most with this is a MAJOR spoiler for the final chapter, though i've been dropping hints here and there throughout (go 2 the comments comment on my fic read it please). instead, i will discuss why people are american in a fic that takes place in Victorian England and how everyone has a Full Name in that fic.

bbh: full name is b. addison halo, "bad" to his friends, and he stowed away on a sailing ship bound for london when he was a teenager

schlatt: actually he doesnt have a full name, but he came to london after running away from NYC 30 years prior to the start of the fic because he was doing Crime in his 20s

ranboo: full name is Ranboo Love, first name is chosen. in london because he decided to become a sailor at 16 and see the world. unsure if his surname is gonna come up, but if it doesnt, that's okay because neither does anthony's and he's the anthony character

dream: full name is reeve taken, "dream" to his friends. based on the french word "reve" meaning "dream." came to london 20 years ago after inheriting his grandmother's pie shop. originally from virginia!

quackity and foolish arent actually from north america in this fic but arent english - foolish is egyptian and q is spanish, neither of these things will probably come up Ever.

SPEED: I am far from being fast with things. Used to be faster a year or so ago but those days are long gone and I just go with the flow of my motivation and brain being willing enough to work with me. Summer’s worse due to the heat and I want to either sleep or not do anything if I can help it. Some days I can write entire novels and other days I can’t even string together two sentences, all part of the cycle of writing for me.

REPLIES: I usually get them done when I see em in my notifs, but things have slipped by me or I plain don’t have any idea how to reply for a time. Chuck em into the drafts till inspiration hits me or I let it go and wait to catch the next one but this happens very rarely as I like to do the replies and what not. Music is a big help for getting the ‘feeling’ of a reply, so usually when I get down to business, I have a playlist going.

STARTERS I like writing em’. Ranges from a one liner, a few sentences, a paragraph or even multiple para’s depending on how well my writing juices are for that splice of time. The more I know about a character or how Joseph’s feelings are, the more I can write and expand upon. I usually don’t tag as a first-off-the-bat cause I don’t know how new mutuals take to that and I usually wait off on the sidelines ahdfnlgj but don’t let that stop ya. Give a little time, let the developments happen and you’ll end up having a certain Joestar kicking down the door at 3 am to talk about stupid shit.

INBOX -Stares at my inbox- Ehehe.. well.. y’see about that.. its been at least 3 years since I had an absolutely empty askbox anslfjg But I am making an effort to try and cut down on how many asks I got. Usually I try to answer within a few days if I ain’t in the groove or it’ll take anywhere from a week to months. I apologize for this and I apologize again for when I have to just delete some asks cause I don’t know how to answer or feel it’s not relevant anymore. There’s really no two ways about this aldsjgg Don’t let it discourage ya from sending in another however.

SELECTIVITY I’m semi selective only cause I don’t want to deal with any drama that happens in fandom. As long as you’re chill and don’t go about poking things or doing call-outs, vaguing frequently, etc, I’m content enough. I’m like that oasis in a desert y’know? I like my little part of the fandom. May or may not follow back, depending on how well I think our writing styles work together or how compatible I feel with another writer, how fast my dash goes as I dislike when it updates too frequently. Me being semi selective does not mean I won’t accept asks from non-mutuals. I ain’t all that strict on this whole selectivity unless I do need to put my foot down to maintain my sense of peace on this hellsite.

WISHLIST Treasure Hunting AU. Anything that deals with some Ancient/Past v Modern gimmick. Joseph having more time spent with his mother, EoH with him meeting his family and having it NOT become an all out battle royale anldfsjg. There’s like a lotta complications with Joseph I feel.. on a deeper note, a side that’s never touched upon in the show and I love to explore my ideas on what those might entail and how it affects him. In short, I’m usually up for just about anything, just chuck something at me and I’ll say if I like it/don’t think it’ll work/expand more on it with my suggestions/ etc. AU’s are the bread and butter of this blog.

HONEST NOTE I keep saying it-- I’m slow as fuck both on here and on discord but please, never take that as I’m bored with one or any negativity pertaining to that notion. I just have a Hell brain that decides when it wants to socialize and when it doesn’t. Doesn’t help with being Taurus cause we enjoy our solitude and we’re stubborn even with ourselves alfsjgn but I try to get back as I can to people when I am able to. Other times I don’t know what to say so never be afraid to just chuck a brick at me and tell me to come out my cave cause I do forget shit and replying is one of those things.

All in all.. This blog shitposts and the portrayal may not be what people expect from a Joseph but hell, I’m just a guy trying to have a good time. Tired usually but writing’s just one of those enjoyments to life. Plenty of fish in the sea as the saying goes.

Sanders Sides AU: Modern Kingdom of Imagineria

Finally I make one of these! My 8 month writer’s block has finally diminished for now and I’ve decided to make an AU I’ve been working on for about a year (among other things).

This is a Modern Fantasy AU, where technology and real life bullshit exists alongside magic. As all good Sanders Sides AUs go, there will be ships. If you want a non-ship esque AU, leave now because there is a whole lotta LAMP.

Anyway, let’s get right into the character descriptions!

Roman Olivers (Dragon-Hybrid, 16)

Roman was born in Manchester, and even after moving to the modern Kingdom of Imagineria at the age of six, he still has a slight English accent.

Roman and his twin brother, Remus, were adopted after their mother was found dead curled around her children in the Endless Forest, just on the outskirts of Manchester. Their adoptive parents, a pair of now ex-dragon hunters, found the twins and took them in as their own.

They moved a few years later, after their mother’s scent vanished and they could leave without the twins remembering her anymore.

Roman’s mother was a fully-grown ruby-scaled dragon (presumably the last of her kind, according to his parents), and he has visible scales of his own on his shoulders, back of his hands, cheeks, neck and forehead.

He is not a full dragon, and he and his brother are half-human. (Or dragonborn, for all of you D&D buffs. Except that he’s mostly human in appearance)

Roman is insecure about his dragon heritage, and as such he grew a slight hatred for dragons. He has often stated that he would slay dragons that ever even set foot near his family.

He doesn’t have wings, but instead has a scaly tail that sprouts from his lower back.

He trips people sometimes, but don’t tell his mother.

All in all, he has serious body dysphoria.

He’s overly protective of his loved ones.

He’s been suspended twice, once because someone made fun of Remus right in front of him, and another time because someone was bullying Virgil.

Roman can create small flames from his mouth, though those have mostly been by accident. This usually occurs when he laughs too hard.

Roman and Virgil didn’t get along for a very, very long time. He eventually started catching feelings for him when he showed up to his front step on his birthday with a woven blanket that he still has not washed to this day.

Roman met Patton and Logan at a library, where Logan snapped at him for flirting with Patton while he was working.

He sings Disney songs on the regular as a coping mechanism.

He’s currently a sophomore in high school that works as his neighbor's babysitter.

Patton Hazir (Harpy, 16)

Patton was born in the Endless Forest, and when he left it for the first time, he appeared in Imagineria.

Patton’s name is actually completely different, but he doesn’t go by it because it’s too complicated to pronounce.

His nickname was Pat because that was the only part of his name that Logan could pronounce. The last name was a random sound he made after stubbing his toe, which kills his friends to this day.

Harpies become independent of their parents after ten years old, and as such don’t have the obligation to return home every night. Since he wanted to go to school, though most harpies don’t want a modern education, he still lives with him.

His parents are very sweet, and naturally they don’t mind.

Patton looks mostly normal, as harpies disguise themselves to present normally to the human eye. The things that seriously stand out about Patton is the fact that he has no ears, he has a few small feathers in his arms that he can’t conceal, and he has talons for feet.

When Patton is in his true form, he has eagle-like feathers sprouting from his arms in varying shades of soft blue. His waist down morphs into the bottom half of some large eagle, tail feathers and all. His torso and head remain as is.

As time progressed, harpies became more docile, and are now not such predatory monsters. They are still extremely territorial and it is unwise to cross a flock, but they are actually very friendly in comparison to a century ago.

Patton is the prime example of the kindest harpies to ever exist in the history of...ever.

He literally smiles at the sun when he wakes up what kind of-

Many people, especially those who are much older, still regard him with a watchful eye.

Patton thinks basically everything is cute. You could show him an imp and he’d pinch its cheek. (He's done this before and he regretted it immediately after)

The biggest challenge for him was Virgil, who we’ll get to in a moment.

They have some really cute moments together.

He can sing, though he’s really shy about it so it rarely ever happens.

His voice sounds enough like music that nobody complains (often).

Patton also has an insane love for sugar cookies, and whenever he’s stressed, he stress-bakes.

Since he doesn’t have a “modern home” in the forest, he usually shows up at Roman's or Virgil's house with a bunch of cookie ingredients.

He has a tendency to steal food, and can’t go into a grocery store without being closely watched.

He received a joke book from Logan on his birthday, and he regrets it. You cannot say anything without him making a pun.

He’s currently a sophomore in high school, and he assists the librarian at the Public Imaginative Library. He doesn’t get paid, and simply loves helping out. That’s how he met Logan.

Logan (Dryad, 14)

Logan was born in the Endless Forest without true parents, being as he is a tree nymph, or a dryad.

Logan was sorely misguided after he was birthed from Mother Earth, and as such he became very curious very, very quickly.

Mere minutes after being born, he wandered to a riverside and was almost killed by a hungry, stranded mermaid.

Luckily he morphed into a tree right at the bank of the river right before she could fatally injure him.

He has a bite mark on his side, which has healed into a scar from the mermaid attack.

Logan was not born naturally smart, and was in fact very naive at birth. He was curious, and never thought of the consequences of his actions until he left the forest and entered Imagineria.

When Logan left the forest, he hid in public parks, where he changed into his tree form for extended amounts of time.

Logan is a dryad, meaning that in Imagineria, if he wished to pursue an education, he could enroll for school on his own. When he learned how to read (he was 3), he became addicted to knowledge, and enrolled himself.

He skipped a grade, which is why he's so young.

The first word that he learned was "falsehood", and he found it very useful after he became friends with Patton, Roman, and Virgil. It is now his favorite word, and he gets very happy when he reads it somewhere.

The library became his home away from home, which is where he met Patton.

Logan is really book smart, NOT street/survival smart. He knows how to transform into a tree when faced with danger, but he doesn't know how to fight per sey.

Logan's appearance is humanoid in nature (no pun intended), and he has the palest skin tone of all the others. There's a slight green tone to his skin, and he sometimes grows small blue flowers that appear in his hair. He also has pointed ears and long claws that he can retract.

He can see well enough, but after meeting Patton, he grew envious of his glasses and made his own out of branches. Don't tell Patton that.

Logan gave himself his name. He doesn't have a last name because he finds it unnecessary.

Logan is a full-blown vegan, and the others need to take this into account whenever they eat together. He doesn't eat often, but he loves fruit and berries.

He's currently a junior in high school.

Virgil Anansi (Arachne, 14)

Virgil was born with the Curse of Arachne, as his family were a mischievous bunch of practicing witches and wizards. This basically means that they angered the ancient spider spirit and she cursed each generation's first born with the Curse.

Virgil was homeschooled until he was of high school age. He's extremely anti-social and insecure because of it.

Much like Roman, Virgil has body dysphoria, though not as badly due to his family.

The Anansi family is a pretty wild and close family, though they experiment with questionable black magic often. They were shunned from society after crossing Arachne.

Had it not been for his curse, Virgil would be classified as an Anansi Witch.

Virgil has three little sisters (triplets), a baby brother, two really weird fathers, a feral uncle who lives in the basement, a grandmother that drinks enough alcohol to poison a large pony, and a familiar for each of them. That makes 9 people and 9 familiars living together.

Virgil's familiar is ironically a spider, a palm-sized tarantula named Kisa.

Virgil had never felt different until he grew up and had to go to school. He was never bullied physically until he showed vulnerability in public.

Virgil's bangs only cover a little bit of his forehead, where three extra pairs of eyes are. They're a pupiless, orchid purple (as Logan dubbed them), and he can't make them vanish like his extra limbs and abdomen. He has fangs, but they're pretty small and elongate when he's hunting. On his back there is a "tattoo" of three purple diamonds.

Often times, when Virgil is being sulky, he makes spider silk blankets and scarves in his room while he listens to classical music.

Depending on what kind of music he listens to effects the sturdiness of his webs. Classical isn't his favorite genre of music, but he can't exactly listen to My Chemical Romance while trying to make an intricate design.

Virgil is an absolute sass master, and normally wins verbal arguments. (You can probably guess who he argues with the most.)

He convinced Patton to sing with him in the school talent show, and they sang Lovely Night from La La Land.

Virgil and Logan are the youngest of their friend group, though often times they feel like they're the ones reeling the oldest ones in.

Virgil's the youngest, and he's treated like the group's baby more often than not.

He and Patton were not super close at first because the harpy was afraid of spiders, and Roman hated his guts for reasons he still won't confess to. He had a hard time making friends with Logan because he was just as awkward if not worse.

He and Patton got really close after an incident caused Patton to break his arm, and Virgil nursed him back to health with potions and a whole lotta cuddling. It was cute.

Virgil met Roman first, which was the worst first impression he had ever given off. Especially since he immediately thereafter had a gay panic.

Virgil is a freshman in highschool, and eventually creates a job in which he creates spider silk blankets and sells them online.

These are the main four's character descriptions, but I can go into depth character appearances, character stories, the modern Kingdom of Imagineria, the Endless Forest, etc. I'm planning on writing the main plotline on AO3, but I haven't decided yet.

I guess I'll have to see. Mkay byee~

snowbaz + zodiacs

simon snow is a cancer sun and i wanna talk about that

because i’m a slut for the zodiac and i think it’s fun

and simon snow is a curious study (i’d argue that he is a gem rising tbqh) 

because when you first look at him he doesn’t really fit the cancerian bill, y’know? he’s so blatantly unaware and bad with social cues, but he does act purely out of emotion 9/10 times

i really don’t think the boy knows the definition of self-care or self-preservation, but he would do anything to care for and protect the people he loves 

also like a small thing but cancer is associated with the stomach, aka the way to and from their heart is through the stomach, aka all those AUs in which simon becomes a cook or a baker are spot-fuckin-on ‘cause yeah food is definitely simon’s love language and that is a cancerian-ass trait if i ever seen one

and i’d argue a gem rising because i feel like he does show a lotta outward gem signs like, he’s popular and likes people and likes knowing people and being around people and cancer’s are likable but gemini’s know how to win people and they’re good at small talk and they’re social butterflies and that is what he puts out into the world 

but that’s surface level and maybe he’s not the best at really talking about what he’s feeling or even knowing what he’s feeling, which makes me wanna say that he’s a virgo moon. he’s shit with his own emotions and will tamp them down and ignore them, but he can’t really hide them. not only is this kinda displayed through his magic, which he literally cannot control to a point that he ‘goes off’. and without magic? still can’t hide shit, if he’s feeling stressed or overwhelmed he’ll try to hide it but penny and baz both know. (they’re also just more aware) 

speaking of them why not just continue this little journey because i have more opinions. 

baz is a libra sun, cap moon, leo rising. 

baz is a snotty intellectual, plays violin, and would probably put out after a good date to a modern art museum or smt. he takes his feelings and shoves the into a tiny bottle to deal with later, and as much as he would never admit it, fully craves relationships (maybe this is something deep down, bc there’s gotta be something to say abt the trauma of losing an important relationship so young, like losin your mom is no walk in the park i’m messed up and it happened to me at 19 - i can’t imagine it happening so young jfc). big libra energy tbh. 

he’s also very very good at coming off as completely apathetic, he throws that bottle of emotions down d e e p and rarely lets it surface, and his greatest skill is being an emotionless piece of trash (i love him, that’s a compliment). big cap moon energy. 

and lastly, this bitch is the definition of a faux ego and thus the only sign that could rightly be his rising is the most egotistical zodiac: leo. i subscribe to the idea that baz spends upwards of 45 minutes primping before big events, and at least 30 before a regular day out. and we all know he’s a drama queen - remember the forest? the fire? could you be more extra basil?? no. (well, probably) and he’s also a loyal bitch tbh

a note: i love all signs and these two boys and i mean no harm with any comments made here (look i’m just spittin’ truth tbh and if you feel like i was too harsh to your sign just come tell me to trash aquarians, bc i can go off on my own sign, too, to make it equal)

253,000 !! also, I should say I have at least 100k worth of unpublished works, sooo,, damn that’s a lotta words

How often do you write?

it really depends these days. typically I usually sit down and actually write a few times a week for a good few hours, other days I’m just not feeling it, which I hate ugh

Do you have a routine for writing?

I wish. I do always need to have music or a tv show playing otherwise I go a little insane in the silence... and I need to be comfortable, very rarely do I work at a desk, rather the couch or my bed. basically it’s just hoping against all odds that inspiration will strike me

What’s your favorite kinks/tropes/pairing?

kinks: I assume this is sexual,so  in that case, a big one is just the unbelievable desire to be with someone that it completely clouds your mind and you need to do it now. also riding

tropes: I have a soft spot for strangers or friends to lovers, as well as just any setting where they’re my own age so it’s nice to relate. modern settings in particular (if the content isn’t already) and watch as they try to not fall in love. special mention for soulmate AUs! 

pairing: reddie, if that ain’t damn obvious lmao. I tend to stick with one pairing until I move on to the next fandom

Do you have a favorite fic of yours?

of my own?? uhhh, I suppose Sixteen Weeks, since it’s the longest thing I’ve written and the work I’ve put the most thought/care into. I have a few one-shots here and there I’m proud of and am still able to re-read without cringing lol

Anything you don’t like about your writing?

pacing - at times I worry I’m either moving the story too fast or too slow, usually with my chaptered fics, but also with my one-shots sometimes. I worry I rely on dialogue too much and if readers would prefer more descriptive heavy fics? I try my best to keep situations realistic, but then again, I wonder if things are too.. happy all the time? and if some scenes I write aren’t necessary but I’m just never quite sure..

Now something you do like?

I... have definitely improved since I started writing 2 years ago. I realised I struggled with past and present tense and am now confident in catching my mistakes. I try to avoid repeating words to help keep up a nice flow, and also have stopped being scared of the word ‘said’ lmao. (basically, I’m still learning, and every day I write, even just a little bit, helps greatly. It’s definitely still a passion of mine and I hope I continue with it well into the future)
