ultimately i think that if you are trying to glean information about a person's real life personality or priorities or morals based on their taste in fiction then.... you are wasting your energy. like i don't even mean this in a shipping discourse kind of way, i'm also talking about like. those posts like "you like enemies to lovers because you want someone to see you at your worst and still love you" and "you like girl-next-door romance because you crave being known and loved by someone who's seen every part of you" or "you like BDSM porn because you want someone else to take control of your life."
these posts are frequently made in jest but. they drive me insane. i am aware this is a no fun allowed kind of take and i am Not trying to ruin anyone's fun, i just..... good God. can we stop applying pop psychology and freudian analysis and other such bullshit to our reading habits. please. please god. please.....
and on the other hand. if there are people already poised to take this in bad faith..... yes, of Course i'm the type of person to make this post, since i write largely horror-rape-torture-murder bullshit. and i actually would Love for people to assume i'm dangerous due to the horror-rape-torture-murder bullshit, since in actuality i am trapped in the body of a fat physically disabled soccer mom, and it sounds nice to be scary.
but like. being completely, totally, 100% sincere here. like i am not being a bitch, i am trying to impart genuine advice. IF you're spending a lot of time stressing out about what fiction does or doesn't say about you, your peers, your family, or (maybe especially) the people you dislike....
....your energy is being sucked into a black hole. Find Another Thing To Stress Over. Thank You

I stare death and the face and see only me.
Battered, at scale, bruised in the places I hit myself. Or, perhaps, this was someone else’s doing,
the way this story is someone else’s story.
How this sentence belongs to someone who is as of this reading not me, because it is you.

cannot help but laugh at how often i see someone whining about kink shaming on here and you click their blog and their whole schtick is how hot it is to have sex with their own siblings like only on this website can you twist being into abhorrent shit into a somehow progressive thing to do and get legit angry over strangers on the same website being uncomfortable with your open bizarre kinks. like you Could just respect other people's boundaries and block them and continue posting about how you want to violently assault people as a fetish but instead you prove that your concept of consent and also your touch with reality is so rotted by all the rule34 art you goon over that your "it's just a kink!" argument is getting weaker by the second. anyways

i know nobody cares about this but me, but the way people still in 2024 think homura is some Obsessive Evil Psycho Abuser™ who wanted everyone but madoka to die horribly drives me up a wall. like, did we watch the same anime/movie(s)? are you just so blinded by hatred of homura that you flat out ignore canon entirely? what is it.

do you think transandrophobia truthers remember that their term was coined by a man proudly and openly into the sexually assault and corrective rape of lesbians and trans women (ft. a general misogyny kink) or do they just not care

me, watching s1: louis i do get the desire to protect claudia's image and vulnerability but daniel is 100% right. it is super annoying and wrong to censor her own telling of her rape

to prev post you know im going to have to say something about the novel and im sorry bc the post is about real people and not fictionalized depictions of the subject matter but my god it really does drive me up a wall that these characters canonically sexually assaulted each other and then go on to re-enact rape and pedophilia fantasies without like discussing what happened at all besides 'oh hehe it was you back then!' and they, the author, and the readers act like that's fine and normal when realistically there has to be so many issues around that for them emotionally! this cannot be healthy! I enjoyed some of the extras and even some of the sex scenes but ppl who uncritically support all of them are living on a different plane of existence

Honestly I think incest jokes are as bad and insensitive as rape jokes
1000% AGREE. they usually go hand in hand anyway :/

God ok I know that I said that I hate het romance even more than I hate BL but my god do some of these BL artists make the most heterosexual dynamics i've ever seen between two guys and also the most absolutely obnoxious rapey seme top characters the fact that this is presumably straight women's fantasy is honestly disturbing to me

“”spicy”” (<- basically a modernized version of the word smexy) booktok book descriptions are honestly kind of fascinating to me because they’re almost always so… detached? childish?
a lot of these books seem to describe situations in which the woman mc is in a VERY passive role, even to the extent of the love interests actions becoming essentially sugarcoated sexual assault. this isn’t an abnormal line of fantasy for women who are growing up in a patriarchal society, but the flippantness with how these dynamics are treated within these stories, that are read by. way too many young women. is genuinely so stupid and insulting. because some of those women are not going to have the experience/knowledge to know the situations presented in these books would be horrific in real life. (especially with the way theyre described within) they don’t have that external context yet while they’re reading a romanticized version of it & frankly i’m not even sure if the authors have that context either.
and like okay they read these books written by people who’ve probably never had any introspection on their own sexuality & then they go childishly recommend the books to other young women using language that sounds like they’re trying to avoid the chat filter in an MMORPG for 8-13 year olds. which is just really the cherry on top i think @__@ idk word salad but like i want a case study on the people who write and read this shit genuinely what goes on in their minds
