I was thinking about it in twitter and can’t stop, THEY’RE MY EVERYTHING NOW!, I’ll be doing some more doodles of them while brainstorming headcannons about my au

But basically this is an au where ranma is 19 such as Akane and they’re best fiends, Akane is a singer in a small band who usually plays in a local bar, ranma never had an interest in going to whatch them perform or to the practices but he had something to do with Akane so he waited for her while they were rehearsing, at the end of the practice ryoga (25) arrives, Ryoga is the kind of leader, the one who started the band, and also the guitarist, he’s usually really really late all the time but it doesn’t really affect the band because he’s just that good!

"Finding Oneself" by JaquiK

Summary: Post-manga ending, Ranma takes Akane out for a girl's day out. It gets gay and plural

Thoughts: We got some classic Ranma Misunderstanding Tango going on in this one, but it's a lot of fun, and honestly Plural!Ranma fits pretty well

"A Simple Promise" by NobleHeroine

Summary: AU in which a lonely Ranma tries to make up for that disasterous first day at the Tendo's by approaching Akane in the night, asking to be friends. Ranma quickly latches onto the idea that Akane would be willing to be friends if he was a girl full time, and tackles the situation with the usual competitive spirit

Thoughts: This one is in-progress, check it out! Unlike a few others AU's I tried, this one doesn't try to play by play scenes we already know, focusing instead on how this promise changes things. Really excited for more of this one

"One to Treasure" by NobleHeroine (didn't realize until literally just now they were the same author)

Summary: Akane is in a time loop of the first episode, and she has gotten the art of cracking Ranma's egg and romancing her down pat. Only one issue... it seems like this loop, Ranma has foreknowledge of her own?

Thoughts: A one-shot, and a damn good one. This is such a fun twist on a time loop story, and if you enjoy Ranma/Akane in a very lesbian way, this fic is like a delicious dessert.

"Trying Something a Little Different" by NobleHeroine (Wait seriously? This is not a gag I genuinely am flummoxed)

Summary: Sequel to a one-shot, this starts with Ranma only being out to Akane, staying in the gender closet with everyone else. It becomes clear why, with the way her parents treat her just for being in her red-haired form more often

Thoughts: Another one that is currently updating, don't want to spoil it but this fic also has another character having her egg cracked and hot damn I love it. This fic focuses a lot on the way Ranma's parents have fucked her up and actively continue to make her overcoming the mindset she's been stuck in for so long so difficult for Ranma

There was another fic I was quite enjoying, but the most recent few chapters went in a direction I wasn't loving

Reading all of this has given me an idea for a trans girl Ranma one-shot of my own, but with all the fics on my plate already, who knows when it will come out

Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Short answer is that I try to? I want to respond to comments, but sometimes I'm out of spoons and it takes me a while to work up the spoons to answer, and sometimes the comment is a demand for an update on a fic I just posted a new chapter for and I lose the motivation to write anything at all for a couple days because gods, I'm thrilled y'all enjoy my stuff but damned if I've usually got the time and energy to write fanfic around Real Life!

What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Probably a toss up between The Shadow You Cast Over Me and A Wish Your Heart Makes. (If you didn't guess one of those, uh, well... ~offers tissues~)

Not...exactly? I mean, I once got some dumbass complaining in the comments of my clearly tagged WinterIron soulmate AU that he wanted to read WinterWindow and "not this gay shit", which, dude, we're on AO3, not FanFiction.Net, the fic was very clearly tagged and you still clicked on it, so you reading "that gay shit" is all on you, buddy. Also, same fic, someone decided that because I talk about Natasha and Yasha being familiar with borscht that I was a Russian Imperialist? I dunno, people are weird.

.....Yes, hello, any kind of smut I write that's actually explicit rather than kept vague or Fade To Black has a separate psued. Click at your own risk, not that I have much posted there yet.

Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Hmmmm.... Do I have to stick with fics that I've posted and can provide links to? I've got a LOT of crossovers that either aren't posted yet or haven't been moved over to AO3 and tracking down the links on the wider web and defunct archives is difficult.... so, I'll just cop to Lethally Blonde, the MCU/stealth-Tropic Thunder crossover, for right now.

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Sort of? Someone stole a segment of "More Worthy Than Believed" wholesale and tried to pass it off as theirs a few years back, but it got discovered pretty quickly by folks who'd read the original.

Have you ever had a fic translated?

I don't know? I think someone offered to translate one of my older fics once, but I don't know if anything came of it.

Have you ever cowritten a fic before?

I'm listed as a collaborator for The Cadbury'verse, but aside from Bang collabs and the vague plans @rodiniaorzetalthepenquin and I have plotted about at three AM that result in one or the other of us writing fics in the same narrative universe, I don't have any posted cowritten fics.

What’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

Dude, I just updated Only Different In The Details with a new chapter and the last update previously was in 2013! If the fic isn't marked as complete, it'll get finished eventually. (Or I'll die, but it's more likely the fic gets finished before then.)

What are your writing strengths?

World-building. I seriously LOVE world-building, and I really enjoy writing full AUs that really let me flex that!

What are your writing weaknesses?

.....forward planning. I can't seem to do it with any kind of reliability or regularity, and trying to write an outline is a scholastic exercise in futility, not to mention all the times I've gone looking for notes or scene snippets I could have sworn I wrote down or typed into chat somewhere and apparently sharing the vivid fever dream images in my head was yet another dream. On the other hand, I remember three different versions of those scenes in vivid technicolor, so I just have to pick one instead of starting three new WIPs.....

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

This is honestly why I'm slowly teaching myself seven different languages, and you can bet I prefer having a beta for those segments who is a native speaker. (Harder for Latin, Quenya, Vulcan, and Enochian, admittedly....)

First fandom you wrote for?

Trick question. The first fandom I ever wrote for and posted online was Animorphs, but I was writing fanfic as far back as second grade for Disney movies and the Sweet Valley Universe nominally by Francis Pascal. (Yes, I still have those notebooks. No, they will not be transcribed and archived online.)

Favourite fic you’ve ever written?

Always the fic I haven't written yet. Always. What I think is my favorite now will not likely still be my favorite next year, maybe not even next month! Hell, I can't even pick a favorite out of the ones I have posted to AO3 right this second! But then, isn't that part of the fun part of writing?

akane is a lesbian and ranma is a girl but ranma is straight

1) Akane crushes hard on Ranma for a fair bit of time thanks to being pretty girl who, thanks to the absurd world she lives in, is technically engaged to her thanks to Ranma having a boy curse in this AU because of course she would. Eventually of course Akane gets over this, because it wouldn't end well.

2) Ranma has very bad luck with boys. She's attracted to Kuno for a hit minute before he opens his mouth. Ryoga thinks she's a boy for most of the AU (their backstory relationship is unchanged) Mousse look attractive until, again, he opens his mouth and so on and so forth. Ukyo is such a disappointment, as she had nursed a crush on "him" when they were younger. Yes, Genma still did the engagement trick.

3) Akane, meanwhile, ends up having a Gay Moment when Shampoo shows up. "At least it's a cute girl trying to kill you" = "Please let her step on me."

4) Shampoo's attempts to woo Ranma end up failing as well because Ranma is a straight girl no matter the curse. She and Akane end up bonding of the experience and of course hook up.

5) The AU would probably end with Ranma finally going on a date with a boy who isn't a trash fire.

Martial Arts AU

Inspiration: Ranma 1/2 anime

What it's about: Dipper and Mabel are the heirs of a prestigious martial arts school, and after the sudden death of their parents, pressure has been put on Dipper to marry and carry on the family name. Unfortunately, their new guardians, their great uncles Stan and Ford, have very different ideas on what kind of girl would make an ideal bride for Dipper, resulting in him having two fiancées (Wendy and Pacifica). And unfortunately since they're both headstrong and martial artists, they're constantly fighting, making Dipper's life miserable.

He finds himself getting peace in his life by sneaking out to the nearby park where he can explore, study and practice without the chaos that's at home. One day he's approached by a blonde who says his name is Bill. The two start meeting in the park on a regular basis and start to become pretty close friends, maybe even more. Dipper also finds out that Bill's a pretty skilled martial artist himself and even starts teaching the brunette some things.

One day Mabel notices Dipper sneaking out of the house. So she grabs her camera and decides to follow him to find out where he's been sneaking off to. She records a full 20 minutes of Dipper and Bill being adorable little himbo dorks with Dipper fanboying over his beliefs in the paranormal and Bill just enjoying listening to him while they cuddle and kiss. She then takes the recording back to their uncles and they immediately recognize who Bill is.

Turns out Bill's the heir to an even more prestigious school, and would have been an ideal candidate, but neither Stan nor Ford had considered the idea that either Dipper or Bill were gay, or that the Cipher family would even consider a merger with such a small family as their own (though Mabel was one of several girls rejected by Bill some time ago, most families had assumed it was because Bill had impossible standards, not that he was gay), so he was skipped over.

But now that there's the possibility that the two heirs have fallen in love on their own, Stan and Ford both call off their previous betrothals and both work to convince Bill's family to accept their hand. This of course does not make Wendy or Pacifica or their families happy. Martial arts-themed hijinks ensue.

Bakudeku Ranma 1/2 Crossover

HI GAIS. Sorry I haven’t posted in forever. I was trying to learn how to digital art!! Two of my very first practice paintings are in here, but I kept them super simple bc I’m a noob.（´＿｀;）

SO. Ranma 1/2 was one of my favorite mangas growing up. It’s a rom com manga and it’s hilarious.

Basically, Ranma is a teenage boy, but because he fell into one of the cursed springs, he turns into a girl every time he’s doused in cold water. Hot water changes him back. Hence the “1/2″. As a raging bisexual, this series pleased me. (͠≖ ͜ʖ͠≖) Okay, I didn’t know at the time but still.  I mean, c’mon. 

Anyways, I had this bakudeku AU in my head for months now and I just wanted to draw random crap about it. I’ll talk more about it under the Read More cut. :)

So.. yeah. I don’t really have a definitive story in mind, just really vague ideas. Like,,, in this AU, Izuku turns into a girl whenever he sneezes instead of cold water thing. Because I’m Super Creative. :I 

I think maybe gender roles and such are even more strict? Maybe this ability isn’t a quirk, and no one can really explain (conveniently) why it happens, but it has been like this for Deku since he/she was little. It didn’t really matter all that much when they were a kid, but it got more difficult to hide as Deku grew older. It’s really weird because quirks make everyone unique now. But quirks appearing happened relatively quickly and gender ideas/roles have been in place for thousands of years, so change has been difficult on that front. It dictates a loooot of social things like how to behave, greet, etc. etc. basically everything according to gender. A lot of stuff is structured around gender rolls, even more intensely than our universe as mentioned earlier.. Like. SUPER intense. (But things are slowly improving!)

So Deku’s mom hid it bc she didn’t want her baby to be bullied. Maybe Mitsuki knows but she hasn’t told Katsuki? Idk. But yeah. Inko raises him as a boy. But Izuku likes being both a gal and a guy, depending on how he feels that day, and does “dress ups” while he/she’s home. Izuku wants to feel free to do just that in public (where people that know him are around).

Idk how much it would follow canon, but Izuku does go to UA.  :U

Kacchan finds out accidentally one day while they’re fighting over something stupid. 

I drew a little more to this comic, but this is already super image-heavy and it was dumb anyway so I left them out lmao.

Kacchan: Any more things you’re hiding from me, nerd???

Deku eventually comes out to his class and everyone is super nice and accepting. I mean, they’ve been through thick and thin together, faced death together, Izuku can do whatever she/he wants to be happy, as far as they’re concerned. And they will kick anyone’s ass who tries to give Deku shit. 

Maybe the girls chant “One of us! One of us!” and get really excited to have Izu try on all these things. Clothes, makeup, whatever. 

Idk, trying a slightly more realistic style. ^ Less noodle arms. 

Kinda derpy, just doodle.

Now Izuku just does whatever. She wears skirts and dresses and shit when going out, and if she ends up sneezing and changing, he doesn’t give a crap anymore and just stays however he wants. 

Katsuki and Izuku eventually start dating after Kacchan gets his head out of his ass and matures. In the beginning, Izuku is worried that Katsuki likes him more in his girl form. After a lot of beating around the bush, he tells Katsuki how he feels.

 And Katsuki’s just like, “Wtf dumbass, I don’t give a fuck” - the only thing he gives a shit about is having a partner who understands how important hero work is to him, and how busy and chaotic the hero lifestyle can be. He loves all sides of Izuku. YEAH. Also, Kacchan’s sex drive is insatiable. ≖‿≖

3. Ranshamkane (Ranma/Shampoo/Akane) [It's the top two combined and it's poly how could I not love it]

4. Rankodakane (Ranma/Kodachi/Akane) [Admittedly I'm fond of this ship with my AU version of Kodachi, in particular. It'd be fascinating to see this ship with the Canon version of her, though.]

1. LUM! She was crazy at first, yeah, but that’s what I liked about her! Plus her shenanigans with Ataru and Shinobu in the beginning were just too funny. But omggg when her personality changed I was like YES! She’s so pure and cute, but she still can act like her old self sometimes, which is fine by me OHO.

2.RANMA SAOTOME. LIKE??? WHEN HE WALKED IN THE ROOM I JUST KNEW HE WAS GONNA BE MY FAVE.  He is just a pure cinnamon roll. Ok sometimes he can be a jerk, but I love him ok? I felt so bad for him when Akane cancelled their friendship in the first chapter/episode after she found out about his curse. Like HOW DARE??? Also, I like how awkward and shy he can get despite being this great martial artist! He’s so cute like ahhhhh! Honestly, I just love his heart of gold and his willingness to help anyone in need. ALSO CAT RANMA IS A CUTIE!!!

3. RINNE! There was just something about this mysterious red-haired boy that made me like him the most in the first chapter/episode of the series. I know! HE’S SO CHILL!!! Yeah, unlike his predecessors, Rinne is so damn chill in the beginning. Plus he respects Sakura the moment he meets her like asdfghjkl!

The characters I never expected to love so much:-

1. ATARU MOROBOSHI- *cRACKS KNUCKLES* I hated this goof ball so much in the beginning, but after episode 44, HO-HO- HOLY SHIT NEW FAVE. I mean Ataru was growing on me after the famous Christmas eve episode and the Imo-chan episode, but episode 44 just changed my entire perspective of him! It showed me a side to him that was compassionate and can very well be hurt. Not gonna lie, the first time I watched that episode I was crying with Ataru when he was on the ground crying cause omg???? NO DON’T YOU CRY! You’re supposed to be the COMEDIC RELIEFFFF.  Before I knew it I was calling him my son lol. Anyone who has followed me for at least a year can tell that I love this idiot so much.

2. AKANE! She honestly frustrated me so much in the beginning. How dare you cancel a friendship with Ranma because he’s not a girl asdfg-. But after a couple of episodes/chapters I began to warm up to her. Especially once she got over her “I hate men” complex. She’s so sweet and kind, but will beat the crap out of anyone who messes with her!  My bad ass martial arts girl!

3. SABATO- Frick. HOW COULD YOU DO THAT TO YOUR SON!?  Yeah, he’s an ass, but HOLY HELL HE’S HILARIOUS! I couldn’t help but love him. Everytime he returns I get so happy...and then I feel bad cause that means Rinne is about to suffer ;w;

The character I relate to the most:-

1. Hmmmmmm. Ataru? IM NOT A PERVERT THO! I have the worse luck sometimes, plus I take things for granted just like him. I also relate to the fact that I’m really lonely when I’m not around the people I love. Although in Ataru’s case it’s just one person.(Lum e.e) On the plus side, I can be funny and have sarcastic humor. I am also low-key intelligent. The only thing I wish I had in common was not die if I was struck by lightning. Ataru you lucky bastard.

2. RYOGA- I have A HORRIBLE SENSE OF DIRECTION! And also I can get lonely too as stated before.

3. Rinne- I’m poor and whenever I get money it just goes away so quickly so VERY RELATABLE CHARACTER.

A character I liked at first but not so much anymore:-

1. NO ONE lol

2. Shampoo- Cause at first she reminded me of Lum then it got to the point where I just found her kind of annoying??? I like her more in the anime tho.

3. Everyone in Rinne makes me laugh so once again no one.

A character I did not like at first but they have grown on you (By a lot)

1. Mendou- RICH KID WHO THINKS HE’S BETTER THAN EVERYONE is actually just rich Ataru. I hated him because he was just soooo annoying. He also tried to kill Ataru in the beginning. I didn’t like Ataru during Mendou’s introduction, BUT YOU CAN’T KILL HIM MENDOU! I began to like Mendou more  because throughout the series you can actually see that he starts to care more about the people around him, INCLUDING ATARU fite meeee. He still can be a douche sometimes ofc.

2. Ouo No one...surprisingly.

3. Sakura- Ok so when I first got into Rinne I was one of the fans who hated how seemingly unemotional she was. Plus I low-key hated the fact that she wasn’t like her predecessors. But once I had gotten over that and the anime had kicked off she started growing on me. ESPECIALLY since now that I can hear her speak, I can see that she’s more chill than unemotional. Also her personality adds to the comedy of Rinne!

Three OTPS!:

1. Do I even- ok... ATARU X LUM! THE GROWTH BETWEEN THESE TWO STILL ASTOUNDS ME 5.YEARS. LATER AFTER COMPLETING THIS SERIES! Honestly, their relationship still has me shook to this day.  Like I could watch an early Ataru X Lum episode and then a latter one and it’s so obvious how much they have grown. Their relationship went from dysfunctional to a pure domestic relationship. Like I just get so happy cause in the latter half of the series Ataru and Lum can just chill together and be at ease with each other. Until Asshole Moroboshi flirts e.e That aside, I also like how when they have an argument you can actually see the hurt it causes them both. Especially Ataru since like before he met Lum I’m 99% sure he was a lonely kid. Sure he had Shinobu, but like she didn’t live with him. And if I had a mom who told me she wished I wasn’t born CONSTANTLY I’d be hella depressed. OK OK I’m done. OTP FOR LYFE! 

Shinobu/Inaba- THEY ARE SO CUTE TOGETHER! I’m low-key pissed that the flower arc from the manga didn’t get animated tho...It was so important ;w;

And finally in an au where Lum doesn’t exist or come to earth or something.... Ataru x Mendou ouo’’ Don’t kill me. Not gonna lie...artists on pixiv made me ship this...PLUS EPISODE 131 WAS HELLA GAY FITE ME. And then they were other moments in the series that made me think they’d be a good couple lol.

2. WITHOUT WORDS! YOUR HAND IN MINE’S ENOUGH!! ;W;!! RanmaXAkane! Ahhhhh! These two are my babies! They have honestly been through so much together! Their relationship is hella better in the manga though. I cried during some arcs like holy shit.

Ryoga x Akari- cRIES! IM ON THIS ARC BUT i HAVENT READ IT BUT BASED ON SPOILERS...OTP.

Ranma x Ryoga: So that fishing rod arc aha AHAHAHAHA. Plus the fan art on tumblr made me ship them even harder lol. 

3. Ghost hunters I MEAN RINSAKU! Honestly, my heart just flutters whenever Rinne acts all lovey dovey around Sakura. She honestly brings out the best in him. Rumiko....you better give them a happy ending like their predecessors e.e

Matsugo x Rinne: PLEASE, THEY ARE SO CUTE??? When I watched Matsugo’s introductory episode I was just making inhuman noises THE ENTIRE TIME. If Rinne hadn’t met Sakura these two would be hitting it off right after the reunion tbfh. I honestly wish there was more content for this ship???

Ah, I agree with you! People can hc Ranma as trans in an AU setting or where he slowly starts to feel more at home in his girl form, but personally seeing him as trans is uncomfortable for me, because he literally hates being a girl. He used it to his advantage sometimes, sure, but he saw it as a curse and spent ages trying to “cure” himself, which is transphobic rhetoric if I’ve ever heard it. Alternatively people interpret him not wanting to be a girl because he’s a trans boy who doesn’t want to be seen as a girl again. This is valid, and I can see that I guess, but we’ve seen Ranma as a kid, even as a baby. We’ve seen Ranma naked too. I’m pretty sure he isn’t afab in the slightest. So yeah, I can’t see him as trans, but I can see why other trans people consider his experience relatable. I also don’t see him as gay, mostly cuz he hasn’t shown any interest to guys, unless he’s manipulating them for some reason or trying to get them away from Akane, and even then he only does it while in his girl body. The only person Ranma’s ever shown romantic interest in is Akane.

He isn’t gay or trans x_x

The whole point of his ‘curse’ is that it is as such. The whole series is about Ranma trying to find a cure for his curse. So I’m always kind of bothered when people try using him as a trans icon…because he really isn’t x_x

Of course, y’all can do and believe whatever you want. But I’m firm in my belief that he isn’t gay or trans. It’s simply not how he is written. 

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:

I wish there had been more romance between him and Akane. I was thrilled by the ending of the manga to be honest, but I always just want more y’know?
