So I already knew Ranma 1/2 in general is a big influence on Scott Pilgrim but I think this SPECIFIC Ranma movie might’ve been influential after watching it:
Ranma has to fight 7 lucky gods themed martial artist to rescue Akane form their leader who wants to marry her
One of them is a girl whole the rest are men (Roxie vs the others) and 2 of them come in. A pair (the twins)
…
Very interesting!

After taking a surprise dip in a cursed spring while on a training journey in China, martial artist Ranma Saotome and his father, Genma, aren't quite themselves anymore. Now Ranma turns into a girl whenever he's splashed with cold water, and Genma turns into a panda!
Their new forms cause nothing but confusion at the Tendou dojo, where Soun Tendo is waiting to introduce one of his three daughters to Ranma - as his fiancee! Turns out Genma and Soun arranged the match long ago, but Akane and Ranma, aren't exactly crazy about the idea, or each other! Or are they? Watch the gender switching, jealous rages, and martial arts battles unfold all over again!
Fishbaiit’s note: Definitely a favorite of mine! Anything’s that by Rumiko Takahashi is always fun to watch and/or read when you feel like finding something different.
I haven’t posted in a while and I feel like this was a good start after all this time. Not sure if I’ll keep constantly uploading like I used to tho.

Ranma 1/2 Episode 7: Enter Ryoga! The Eternal “Lost Boy”
Director: Takeshi Mori
Art Director: Atsuko Nakajima
Last time on Ranma 1/2, we saw Ranma come to Akane’s aid and lift her spirits. But the cute stuff will pause while we introduce a mainstay to the series: Ryoga Hibiki, or “Ranma with fangs and a headband.” Wait...
Okay so did anyone see the viz trailer for Big Trouble in Nekonron, China and think that the two were brothers? They have similar designs and the clip where Ranma jumps off of Ryoga’s head establishes their relationship pretty well. Let me know if you got that vibe.
Nonetheless, we spend this episode seeing that Ranma’s prior adventures will play a part in his current life at the Tendo’s. Ryoga has a vendetta, one that will take a minute to fully understand. Is it justified? Well... I’ll let you decide that one.
Ryoga is also one of the characters to get a dedicated character theme, and I think it perfectly encapsulates his drive to fight and his tendency to be melodramatic. Shoutout to whomever composed it, perhaps it was Hideharu Mori but I have to research to confirm this.
