#random rant because this is the single biggest thing that genuinely makes me indescribably sad almost every other day

it makes me so sad how nonchalant and apathetic ppl are towards the things that happen around them. social issues, war, genocide, etc. i get it, you're beyond stressed with your own life and you have a shit ton of problems or you don't have the mental space to care about societal issues. perfectly valid. just admit that. just say "yeah i heard abt this horrible thing going on and it's sad and i'd like to help but i have so much going on so i'm afraid i can't give more of myself. i'll try to see what i can do when i don't have so much on my plate." don't be like "why should i give a fuck abt what these random ppl are going through? no one gives a fuck abt me so why do i owe these ppl anything?".......... i'm sorry to break it to you, but it really is everyone's responsibility to care abt each other - random or not. i'm sorry you feel like no one's helping you with your life. that is a symptom of the individualistic society that we live in.

you need to put yourself out there. maybe if you extended your help, generosity & kindness, you'll realize how many ppl need that in their lives. and how many ppl are willing to give back to you as well. it's hard to ask for these things. but you'd be surprised just how many ppl are actually willing to extend their hand if you just learned to ask. all of it's hard. no one said it isn't. there's so much we need to change within ourselves before we can be ppl who help others and ask for help ourselves. but we owe each other that.

maybe if we all cared more abt our neighbors, our friends or family, maybe if we showed up for others... it would be second nature to have a community that shows up for us when we need them to. maybe if we all had a loving community around us that filled our cups, then we could fill the cups of others - random or not. let's keep that in mind over the coming years. let's not take things so lightly. we owe each other a lot.
