You know, when I first came accross your blog, I thought it's someone from the tumblr management. It's like how in a school the vice principal manages such things, I used to think it's just like that. That you are here to declare the best post award. I know it sounds dumb but anyways.

And now I found @veryspecificanon and the interactions via asks with your blog. It made me follow that blog in an instant. (Specially when you both decided to have a blog with that url, via ask, again) It felt like two people are coming into a partnership for a specifc purpose.

just a ✨mystery✨ who joined tumblr after years of seeing posts on pinterest and wanted to find said famous posts at the actual source, but no such blog really existed at the time, so I made one! ….and then many others did as well lol

and yessss the interactions with @veryspecificanon are so very fun and lovely lol and everyone should follow that blog !!!

although i’m not actually a part/member on their blog, it does lowkey feel like a weird partnership and it’s so fun lmao

to people migrating here from tiktok: if i see someone else ask why [blog] talks in the tags i'm gonna lose it. it's not just one person being silly. it's literally what you do on tumblr dot com. maybe observe how other people use the site first, before you start fully using it yourself, so you don't ruin the culture. it's bad enough that people don't reblog, relying on an algorithm that doesn't exist. don't make it worse by taking what's unique about tumblr, throwing it away and replacing it with the same brainrot that's everywhere else. tumblr has it's own brainrot and if it starts to get replaced by the generic stuff, i will absolutely start gatekeeping.

There is something so personal about seeing heritage posts that involve one mutual tagging another. It’s as if that relationship is preserved for all time, showcased for future generations to see. idk about anyone else but for me /personally/ assigning any of the wof dragon tribes a single equivalent human culture or accent feels kind of weird or off. Unless you’re like. Specifically from that culture and know what you’re interpreting

like sure the ‘nightwings are British because they’re voiced that way in the audiobooks’ is funny at first but I once saw a post break down the accents by tribe and assign sandwings a Nigerian accent. Which IMMEDIATELY makes the fact that they’re commonly rogues and thieves in the story not a fun cowboy thing but a vaguely racist thing suggesting that all Nigerian people scam and steal, which. Given the ‘Nigerian prince’ thing is already a stereotype, well…-

and it definitely isn’t JUST that, I’m not trying to call a single person out. But these kind of 1-1 correlations lead to results like this 9/10 times and it just feels strange. Just mix stuff together. Mash ideas from different places into one. Don’t make the dragons a 1-1 parallel to a specific human culture because then any story you tell that may connect to a stereotype of that culture will come off really, really bad
