Ramon is employed by the Reinholds, but can frequently be found skipping work in favor of hanging out at the restaurant.

OKAY SO 2/3 of my light party characters were just ports of my already existing OCs, it was just meant to be a fun lil thing when I started playing ffxiv as Ari but as I got more into lore/writing for the ffxiv au of course her sister had to be there too! Ari's name originally just meant "holy child" bc she was made to die, and Bianca's full og name Bianca Dumont meant snowy mountain bc she was made to be a stone cold bitch- she's chilled out a lot since then but she's still very icy (ig her new name means holy ice?? Bc Bianca Minako??)

Ramon was a character specifically made for the au to round out the light party! I ended up making him an older brother to another one of my OCs Camille, who I knew had a large family but I hadn't designed them at the time, and their names all revolved around herbs and seasonings lol (Clove, Ramon, Camille aka Chamomile, and Eden who's kinda the odd one out but still earth and greenery related).

I ended up liking Ramon a lot so I yeeted him to the main au where he still vibes with Ari and Bianca, but also Cynthia, Luis and Atlas! Cynthia has an au form in Sharlayan while Luis and Atlas it's more of a "shard" situation, they look like themselves in ancient times but their shards are misc npcs (Atlas' shard is Estinien and Luis' is Graha)

Inspirations are mostly media I consume! One of Ari's og inspirations was Sophie from Professor Layton, Ramon's was Soul from Soul Eater and Bianca's was Bakugo from BNHA!

Doodle/drawing dump because I’ve been replaying Curious Village for the first time in like 4 years. Makes me crazy that this chronologically takes place after the batshit insane events of Azran Legacy... Also I inexplicably was convinced as a kid that Simon and Ramon were dating? take from that what you will

Here’s some Curious Village themed drawings I did

I didn’t have room to write it, but basically the stuff with Adrea is supposed to be expectations (that’s she’s just a jerk) vs reality, because I mean, Lucy is mentioned in the profiles to be a very sweet kid, and that she’s somehow great friends with Adrea, despite Adrea seeming like a jerk. I like to think that while Adrea may like to make fun of people all the time, she really does care about her young friend, and Lucy’s one of the only people to see past Adrea’s initial appearances and see she’s got a good heart

Also fun fact, while Lucy’s name is a Latin name meaning “light”, Adrea’s name is also Latin meaning “dark”. Just thought that was an interesting little contrast that also ties into their personalities too

Next I drew Lucy with her unnamed brother whom I’ve decided to call Oliver, whom she calls Ollie for short. No real deeper reason, other than it’s also Latin and it happens to be the name of another Level 5 protagonist I suppose. Going with my theory that Lucy is a human not from St Mystere (and specifically Desmond’s daughter), the same goes for her brother too, and I wanted to make them look like they aren’t related (though I suppose they still could be), and I give him dot eyes as a slight parallel to Layton to Lucy’s Desmond in this scenario. Also going along the lines of the first puzzle Lucy gives you, she and Oliver are the same age, both being around 11, only Lucy is a couple months older

As for Oliver’s backstory, I haven’t fully decided, but he’s either a kid of another Targent agent who had the one who smuggled Lucy out take their kid too because they knew they were gonna die soon and that they had no other family, so their son would end up in Targent and they didn’t want that, or he was another kid who’s parents were killed by Targent that the agent decided to take with him

Then I just drew some more characters

First I like the idea that Flick and Percy are married, so I drew them together. Maybe it’s just me, but I can’t help but think the way I drew Percy makes him look like kid Gru

Oh yeah another thing I was gonna draw but forgot to, I like to imagine that Flick and Rodney are brothers, simply because I think they look alike

Then I drew Simon and Ramon because I like the idea that they’re either good friends or dating, and they’re just jerks to everyone together. I feel like Ramon looks weird though. I swear, I have no clue how to draw his hair, so I just sort of flubbed it

Then finally I drew Lady Dahlia because I like her and I had some empty space. I hope things go better for her in the future

Welcome to the Layton NPC Showdown!

This is a bracket to determine which of the many memorable NPCs from across the Professor Layton games are the greatest.

GAMES INCLUDED: Every game except LBMR. Eternal Diva characters are also not included here.

WHAT COUNTS AS AN NPC?: Anyone who doesn't have a puzzle animation. Characters excluded are Layton, Luke, Flora, Clive, Emmy, Randall, Aurora, Des, Espella, Phoenix, Maya, Katrielle, Ernest, Sherl, Hastings, and Emiliana.

WILL THERE BE NOMINATIONS?: Nope! Every NPC will be included.

WHAT ABOUT THE LAYTONMOBILE/MOLENTARY EXPRESS?: No vehicles. Not characters.

WHAT ABOUT THE PUZZLE LADS/LASSES?: I only plan on including characters that we can speak to in-game, so no Puzzle Lads or Lasses. Sorry to the people who like them 😔

WHICH CHARACTERS ARE INCLUDED, THEN?: Anyone who isn't an exception listed above that is in the profiles of the game! A full list is enclosed below.

WHEN WILL THE TOURNAMENT START?: More information forthcoming on that! I have to seed the bracket first :)

WHY IS NAIYA YOUR ICON?: In my opinion, she's one of the more underrated NPCs of the series. I'll probably cycle through some of the ones I have available to me right now.

WHAT CRITERIA SHOULD I VOTE ON?: Whatever makes you happy :)

ARE ALTER EGOS SEPERATE CHARACTERS?: No. For instance, Ratman is not included because his secret identity is in the tournament.

US OR UK NAMES?: I will try to make available as many names for the NPCs as possible! Which includes their Japanese names and as many names in the localizations as I am able to obtain from the wiki and my own sources. I'll probably reliably have the English (both versions where applicable), Japanese, and French names for every character when I do the bracket rounds. The list below however is entirely in English.
