I think this is potentially dead on for at least the symbolism that's going on, though it's still probable to me that there is also an "in-universe" angel. I'm also not sure if I agree with the assumption that the red soul we pilot is special beyond it being a human soul either? Like, there's no reason (YET) to believe that a different human couldn't also seal fountains just from their soul being able to float around in dark worlds like ours does. (like the Susie jail escape, Ferris wheel, literally every battle, etc.) Like, they could just be a magician like those dudes who did a big magic barrier in Deltarune.

On the ending thoughts: I was going to add that Sans' could be talking about Flowey, but...No. Flowey hasn't revealed himself to anyone except us in this timeline. How the hell would he know our type if not from something that happens in DR?! I never noticed it before! Flowey does explain other dialog, like "our reports showing timelines jumping around" and what not even if you did Geno first run/on a true reset. It's why I never thought about it before.

The proposal for The Vessel being The Knight seems very, hard to believe at first. I'm still not settled on it myself, but: The Vessel could be mistaken for Kris if they throw on a hood maybe? "There's that creepy Kris going to the library. We're used to our 1 human in town!" With a lot of characters showing a knowledge on what's going to happen (like Jevil) they might just know when to go do things already without raising suspicion. Only appearing when Kris wouldn't, and/or slipping by without people seeing. It's interesting to me that they never bothered addressing that tbh. I wonder if it's just something they couldn't explain well so rather than bringing it up, they're just hoping we explain it ourselves/wait for new chapter dialog to confirm this.

I am 100% sold on the knight not wanting to end the world though, I've been calling it the "Conspiracy Theory Theory" where the Bad Guy™ is not the Bad Guy™ but rather someone trying to make us Stronger so we can help fight The Really Bad Guy™ (like Kill La Kill kind of[the 10th anniversary was recent, so it's just the only example I can think of atm.]) It gets that ridiculous name because I believe MANY characters are in on it, including Kris themselves, Ralsei, The Red Soul, The Knight, Goner Maker Sequence Voices 1 & 2, Mystery Man, Geoff, Gaster, etc. Pretty much everyone who could be except Susie.

The save file analysis is wrong I feel? When Flowey takes over the save file, that is a veteran with literal near-godlike powers who knows how to manipulate saves. He hasn't had control for 9999:99 yet, despite what the timer shows. That info could be missing for Kris because we weren't there when it was made, what we use to see save file information shows what's missing because it literally doesn't know how long Kris has had that save nor where it was made. We get to see the name because we're in their body though. Like we see empty save files, and they're just empty. After a true reset? It's just empty, just like erasing a file in Deltarune. Kris having ANY information means something more than "just to establish you as a separate entity even harder than Undertale." Especially if the cut intro of Susie trying to wake us up is still hinting towards something like a timeloop being canon. (instead of being cut because it's not longer true)

Save file part 2 break in paragraph for easier reading: It might also be because Kris doesn't have the soul they made that save with anymore, if you're a Kris Is Toy Knife Kid Equivalent Truther like me.

It also falls for the trap of thinking what Chara says at the end of genocide is strictly a metanarrative statement, not something Chara believes will be possible. In a game where characters consistently say things that apply both in and out of universe, which I've never liked. Like Flowey after restarting the game after in TPE talking to both: 1.) us in the meta, but believes he is giving his parting words to 2.) Chara IN universe.

But like everything with depth, people are gonna make mistakes. Especially mistakes they don't think are mistakes and are much simpler answers without constant "catches" and clarifications. It's kind of like explaining King Crimson to people, where I'm the only person to do it right. (not a serious statement)

They also point to Mettaton's nebulous "Ratings" when mentioning the amount of monsters in the underground, instead of the echo flower where it's stated there's literally thousands of monsters??? This is something I see people do all the time?

Chapter three: snack break!

(A/N: I know I said id start writing longer chapters but various stuff irl made it a tad tricky (III╥_╥⁠))

Kris laid on their couch the same as they had the night before, it had taken them a bit longer to fall asleep, and now they were up early. The Player just disappearing last night was weird, there was obviously some outside force that had caused it, and the way its voice had bugged out as it disappeared was odd. Kris was fine though, it felt more like when Ralsei had somehow sent it away then when they had ripped it out, so they were pretty sure they'd be ok. They should probably enjoy the bits of peace they had, they’d already turned the TV back off so they could lay there until Susie wakes up, exactly what they’d be doing normally.

“Work you stupid-- let's go, I’m in!” And it was back, so much for bits of peace. “Ahaha! I am a god, Gaster trembles before me!” It gloated to itself, “Yo Krispes you can still hear me right?” It asked them

They wish they couldn't

“Oh good! Sorry, I spent like a solid hour trying to get back in, but I’m here now and my stuff is totally broken!” It laughed, forcing Kris off the couch, “So are we up early or what?” It asked as it dragged them around their house, making them examine the items they already knew so well.

Kris is up far earlier than they normally would be, especially for a Saturday

“It's Saturday!? Dude, I totally thought it was Wednesday!” It exclaimed

Well that was stupid of it

“Excuse me for thinking we were gonna start at the start of the week.” It scoffed, “I’m rolling my eyes by the way” It added on, did it even have eyes? “Anyway now we’re missing out on a big chunk of the timeline, so I am unsure what we’re gonna do”

Just hang out? They didn't constantly need to be in dark worlds fighting for their life.

Probably.

Technically, the dark worlds helped them make new/talk to old friends, but technically The Player was also there for all that and there was no way in hell Kris was giving it any credit for that even if it was the only reason they could do any of it. A chill day with Susie would be nice, they could probably spend more time wandering around town, just screwing around without having to worry about saving the world or whatever.

The player walked them over to Susie, who despite its best efforts (spamming “yes” to the “wake her?” prompt that appeared) stayed sound asleep. It then went over to go harass their mother, because this thing constantly needs to be doing something for some Angel forsaken reason.

“Oh, Kris… you’re up early” She yawned, rubbing her eyes

They agree.

“Well, would you like some breakfast?” She asked them, standing up, “Susie is still asleep, but I'm sure she would not mind some pancakes” She mused to herself as she walked into the kitchen.

Kris remained in their spot near her chair, either the player had gotten distracted or it just didn't see a reason for them to move (unlikely, it was constantly doing something), it didn't really matter why though, because the inability to move, to do anything on their own left them feeling out of place in their own home.

After an uncomfortable amount of time, they were moving again, “Yo i’ ‘ack I as ga-in a hack” It… tried to speak? Its voice was sort of muffled, “Whoops, mouth full,” It laughed, because sure why not? It has a mouth, apparently.

Kris took a step, probably to go harass their mom or something, but quickly got cut off as they heard a yelp and a thud behind them. Turning around, they spotted Susie laying face first on the ground, quickly scrambling up in the hopes that no one would notice.

“Hell are you looking at, Kris!?” She demanded, pointing at them accusingly.

“Your tail.” They responded, after the player had imputed how to answer.

Susie quickly checked that any tail that may or may not actually be there was showing before turning back to Kris, “I don't have no tail!”

“Pancakes are ready,” Toriel called to the two, setting plates on the table “And good morning Susie,”

“Oh uh… thanks ma’am.” Susie answered, quickly straightening her posture to a comedic degree before walking over to the table

Kris followed after her, grabbing for the syrup to pour into their cup before eating, as Susie had already finished tearing through hers.

Drinking the syrup earned a confused and maybe distressed “Dude?” From the player, which caused them to snicker in satisfaction, their turn to weird the other out.

“I have some pie as well, if you want some, as long as someone didn't eat it all” She said side eyeing Kris, who swallowed a mouthful of the syrup before shrugging. Toriel just sighed before going to grab the pie and cut a slice off for Susie. “Kris, you may have yours after you finish your pancakes, and no, you may not have more syrup.”

Kris sighed and finished their pancakes before going to cut themself a slice of pie, their mom did not approve of the size of the slice, granting one that was significantly smaller than what they were hoping for. But, pie is pie, they guess.

“Thanks again for the food, ma’am” Susie, said standing up and walking for the door

“Susie, wait, let Kris walk you home” Toriel offered, without asking her child if they feel like doing that, “Kris, walk Susie back to her house,” She said, gently pushing them towards Susie. Kris sighed before walking back out the door, Susie following behind them. “Hey, uh… we don't have to go straight to my house, I don't mind walking around for a bit,” She said once the door had closed behind them.

Good, Kris doubted the player would go anywhere without checking to make sure it had done everything possible first, at least they won't seem like a jerk for wandering around when they were supposed to be taking Susie home. They weren't sure where she lived anyway, so why was she following them and not the other way around? Well, that was a question it seemed they wouldn't be getting an answer to, considering they didn't care enough to ask and Susie probably didn't know either.

Kirby x Deltarune: A Gamer's Fever Dream

The idea I had here was that Berdly and Kris were playing a new Kirby game Toriel let Asgore choose for Kris. Kris and Berdly played Megaton Punch and Samurai and Berdly lost. Out of fustration, slammed his notebook so hard, that it cracked the tv opened a fountain inside the tv.

Pacifist Route: Berdly stumbled off somewhere hoping to get home. Ralsei then appears and tells Kris why did Berdly open a fountain. Before anything else is said, a black-haired girl with a beret asks them both are they new here. She introduces herself as Adeleine. Before Ralsei introduces himself and Kris. They get cut off when a dark blue entity snatches Ralsei. Adeleine tries to catch the entity, but is unsuccessful. So she then joins Kris to help find Ralsei. They eventually stumbled upon Bandana Waddle Dee after multiple inhabitants being spared. He then asks Adeleine how is she and what happened. She then explains what happened and Bandana Waddle Dee joins the both of them. They all eventually run into Whispy and wether you spare or "defeat" him, an apple will hit Kris really hard on the head causimg them to collapse. Their soul then comes out and splits in half causing Adeleine and Bandana Dee to freak out. It is now that you can choose who grabs the soul. Regardless of who you choose, Bandana Dee will still be the one to take action to everything. They later run into Meta Knight, who interrogates Bandana Dee and Adeleine for taking a struggling Kris with them and engages in battle. Whether you "defeat" or spare him, he knock your health to 1, but then evade hearing the voice of a fairy with a red bow in her pink hair, Ribbon. She introduces herself and tags along to help Kris. You later reach bubbly clouds and run into Gooey, who has Ralsei held captive by Magolor and Elfilin. Ribbon tries to tell Gooey that maybe the goat is "related" to him, but Gooey thinks otherwise and engages into battle. In this battle you have to spare Magolor, Elfilin, and Gooey. Afterwards, Kirby appears on the Warp Star and says that there is a rumor that someone is held captive at King Dedede's castle. And everyone jumps on the Warp Star. They then reach to Dedede's castle eventually reaching his throne room. They then find Berdly, alongside with Dedede. After some dialogue about Berdly saying that "he found his people", they engage in battle and regardless of "defeating" or sparing them, Dedede and Berdly apologise for the trouble and Gooey apologies to Ralsei for what happened earlier. Berdly and Ralsei then introduced themselves along with Magolor and Elfilin Ralsei then explains a fountain is to be sealed if they can leave. So Dedede guides everyone to the Fountain of Dreams and everyone makes their final goodbyes, although Berdly seems sad. Before going, Dedede placed his hand on Berdly's shoulder and told him that he would see him someday. The fountain is sealed and Kris and Berdly woke up in Kris bedroom Berdly asks Kris that one day, his dreams will be a reality. They both then went to Toriel for pie.

Epilogue: The Roaring

The night sky had turned red as titans and beasts were spilling out of the fountain emanating from the ground. Through their pounding heart and their immense fear Kris couldn’t help but feel guilty for this. They knew they didn’t have control over this… thing? Inside them, but they could have at least resisted its strings enough to prevent this. The scene in front of them was not a pretty sight. No one had died as of this moment but the possibility was growing larger with every demented being that crawled its way out of that shadowy pyre. Kris heard their friends that they’d known for years yelling, screaming, shrieking from the terror of the Roaring as Ralsei had called it. Kris looked down at their hands.

“Why?” they thought

“Why me? Why did this thing inside me choose me?”

“WHY isn’t it doing anything about all this!?”

“Why can’t I move?”

This scene continued on for several hours, then several more. With continued brutality and with continued horror Kris witnessed their family, their friends all being consumed and mutilated by these creatures. Through all of it they never moved a muscle, they couldn’t, this being that had been controlling them for the last couple of days wouldn’t let them. The creatures never approached Kris, all of them had passed them by, either unaware or uninterested in their presence. Eventually, these screams died down, the town became quiet again. The sky remained red, however, and the dark fountain still poured into the air. This quietness did nothing to put Kris’s nervousness to ease. How could it? They knew this silence meant that everyone was gone. They were all that was left, and they couldn’t move a finger to stop it.

Something moved in Kris’s periphery. What it was they couldn’t tell, it could be a friend, or a foe and they’d be none the wiser. The way it slinked out of view would imply one of those shadowy beasts, but who knows? Maybe Kris had gotten lucky. Kris felt no fear. In the prior long hours of horror not a single beast had turned a head to look at them, why would they start now? Another movement, this time on the left of their view. Kris couldn’t move their head to turn and look, so all they had was the limited scope of their eyes which were obstructed by their hair.

“Hey! Hey! If you’re still alive, help me out!” they desperately thought, holding onto hope that this was one of their friends. Or at the very least someone from town. But it wasn’t, they knew it wasn’t. It was a beast and for some reason they had finished everyone else off first and were now coming for them.

“This can’t be real, this can’t be how everything happens. I want Susie back, I want Ralsei and Berdly and Lancer. I want Noelle.” they thought to themself, beginning to understand just what is coming next. But just then, nothing. The world went to black, and Kris is left alone in a void with nothing, no one, no sound. They move their arm.

“Wait, I’m in control??” they say, hearing the sound in their skull but not in the area around them. They try to walk forward, their legs swing but never hit a surface, they’re flailing with nothing to hit.

“Vessel, get a hold of yourself”

This booming sound echoed through the void and in Kris’s mind. They were silent for a moment, shocked.

“Who are you? Where am I?” They responded, unsure if this voice heard them.

“That isn’t for you to know.”

Kris grew more confused.

“Why am I here?”

“Because you need to calm yourself.”

“Ok I’m calm, I’m chill” they tried their best to appear sure in their words.

“Then be gone from this place”

group 3! they find the butlers quarters! struggle signs, bloodstains. servants quarters are a mess too. They also find the indoor garden! everythings dead and burnt. they get attacked! a vine blight? tori crit it and it left lol. 1st floor done!

everyone heads to 4th floor! inferno fell back to the 1st floor lol

we find a childs bedroom! with torture devices in it. cam and tori are having fun. we find a jar of screams! open it up, screams. suzy smashes it against the wall and releases the screams. its a kids. good job suzy. inferno could hear it from downstairs lol. cam trying to discover who's room this is hmmm.

moving on from that horror! we find a ballroom! pog! all the stained glass is broken. theres a bear! sees us and goes back to sleep. burned up music sheets. a homonuculus just hanging around. cam picks them up cause why not. broken instruments. working piano. a working record player. (everything stays) voiced by a strange woman? and an egg. just an egg. undyne crushes it lol. i take the record from the record player.

GHOST IN THE HALLWAY! disappears quickly.

Inferno finds a secret door?! OOOOOO

A religion Center. Prayer room? Idols for The Angel, The Void, and Moss. Desecrated and ransaked room. Prayer book on the floor. Lots of mysterious alchemical vials all around. Dont drink them. Papers and books scattered. Notes and attempted spells, failed resurrections.

Shades says dans and a paladin saved her from slavers years ago.

A bedroom! Very dusty. Broken armor in the corner. Notes in the room. A paladin letter of recommendation for...Papyrus Dosser?! OOOOO guess he never made it.

Hello you-can-always-come-home,

For the past day or so you have been making your followers cringe with a hypothetical Deltarune MCU adaptation. In front of you is a computer currently displaying your tumblr account. You have 24 hours to write a cringeworthy mcu fandom-esc selfship fanfic with Berdly. Should you fail, your followers will instead fill this fandom ship niche with their own fanfic, almost certainly resulting in something far worse than whatever you could come up with. Will you succumb to the awful awful idea that you have unleashed, or will you finally get a taste of your own medicine? Live or die, the choice is yours.

christ alive. it's done. i really tried to write from the voice of a 13 year old mcu fan back in like 2014 and i really hope it doesn't come off as mocking anyone in particular. anyone who reads this i Promise you this writing style is put on and that i am a better writer than this actually

After the roaring knight turned out to be a personification of the fun gang's insecurities and was defeated by the power of friendship and also Triple Spamvil Neo 5000, the almighty fusion between Spamton and Jevil that had two laser cannon arms instead of one and flossed a lot, the heroes and all their friends decided to live together in Ralsei's castle in Castle town 2.0, a haven for all darkners and Lightners where everyone could live together and be happy since it was made of a different kind of darkness then all the others. Susie and Ralsei were now King and queen (Author's note: can be romantic or platonic depending on what you like best but all im gonna say is i LOVED the scene where he saved her from falling off a cliff and then said "I think you just fell for me" >_<) and Kris was Crown Prince(ss) (Author's note: haven't decided on a gender for Kris yet LOL). They were all roommates and everyone was happy.

Well, except for one person. Berdly, even though he was the reason the gang got out with their lives when he said "It's spammin' time" to summon Triple Spamvil 5000 (a.n: who else LOVED that morbius reference🤣), was still alone, his room in the castle was just a broom closet under the stairs and all he was ever fed was bread crumbs twice a day. Both Susie and Noelle had rejected him even though he was such a nice guy because they said he wasn't their type. Berdly's life in Castle Town 2.0 was TERRIBLE and he wished he had never helped them out at all.

Then one day he met someone who changed his life forever. She was half Darkner, half Lightner due to being born from one of the last Dark fountains to be sealed and her name was (Y/N). She first met Berdly when she was seeing King Ralsei and Queen Susie in the throne room to discuss her new job, the Lightner-Darkner ambassador.

Susie, Ralsei and (Y/N) were walking through the castle halls. "Well (Y/N)" said Ralsei, "I am very glad we got to meet you. It seems like you will be a perfect fit for the job of ambassador."

(Y/N) beamed. "Thank you your majesty. I will do my duty with pride. Being the only Lightner-Darkner hybrid in the world isn't easy, but I know it'll give me a special insight for this job."

Susie yawned loudly. "UGH," she complained, "Ralsei, didja HAVE to drag me along with you to talk to this priss? You know I hate di- di- diplodicus."

"Y-You mean diplomacy." Said Ralsei.

"Ugh, what-EVER," Susie groaned. "If I don't get to break something right now Im gonna explode" She turned suddenly and smashed an expensive vase sitting on a column. (Y/N) and Ralsei jumped back, (Y/N)'s kalidoscope orbs shining with fear.

"S-Susie!" sputtered Ralsei, terrified. "Y-You have to stop breaking vases! They're expensive!"

Susie roared with laughter. "Whatever toothpaste boy. Hey!" She looked around, snapping her fingers. "Where's Nerdly? He'll clean it up for me. Nerdy!"

Berdly came skittering quickly over from around the corner. "Y-Yes your ma-"

He stopped in his tracks, eyes landing on (Y/N). She was beautiful, there was no doubt about it. Her striped whitr-and-black hair humg around her shining skin like a halo, and she wore a gorgeous floor-length gown that glittered with every color of the rainbow.

Forget Noelle, this was the first real angel Berdly had ever seen. He suddenly realized hed been staring too long and cleared his throat blushing

"Uh... yes, your majesty?"

Susie motioned to the mess on the floor. "Clean that up. And don't take so long this time, I don't wanna see your ugly face stilll here in half an hour again."

Berdly looked miserably at the broken mess om the floor. "B-But your majesty, you said I could have a day off today-"

"Berdly" Ralsei said sternly. "Listen to your queen."

Berdly sighed sadly and dropped to the floor, and (Y/N) suddenly felt terrible for this boy who seemed like he just wanted to live a nice life in Castle Town.

"Excuse me," she touched his wing and he froze, blushing, "Don't worry about that. I'll clean it up."

She snapped her delicate fingers and in a second, the shards had disappeared. Leaving the floor clean again.

Berdly blinked in surprise. Susie's eyes narrowed. "Aw, c'mon, wheres the fun in that?! He always does the cleaning here! It's fun to watch him suffer!"

Ralsei tried to intervene, "Susie, please-"

"I don't care if you don't like him," (Y/N) challenged the dragon, stepping closer adversarially. "It's wrong to treat anyone this way. He obviously only wants to be friends with you and you're being very unfair."

Susie, not used to being told she's wrong, glared at (Y/N), smoke flowing out of her nostrils. "I'm Queen here!" she yelled. "I should be able to do what I want! Ugh, i'm gonna need some chalk for this" She stormed off, stomping down the hall. Good riddance, (Y/N) thought, though she was too polite to say it out loud.

Ralsei hurried after Susie meekly. "S-Susie, calm down-" Leaving (Y/N) and Berdly alone in the hall.

Berdly couldn't believe what had just happened. Someone had stood up for him! Someone cares how he feels! No one not even Noelle had ever tried to challenge the way he was treated ever since he moved to Castle Town 2.0 and now this gorgeous girl was leaning down and smiling at him.

"Are you alright?" She asked kindly, holding out her hand for him to take. "I'm sorry that happened. What's your name?"

"B-Berdly," he stammered taking her hand and quickly getting to his feet. "W-Who are you? I've never seen anyone like you before."

She blushed at that, and Berdly's heart skipped a beat. Her orbs turned bright pink, the color of happiness... and love?

"(Y/N)," she said quickly. "I'm the new darkner Lightner ambassador. Please to meet you Berdly!" Her face turned sad all of a sudden. "Do they... all treat you like that?"

Berdly's blue orbs turned dark with sadness as he looked down, muttering "Ever since I moved here. I helped them defeat the Roaring Knight too. And yet even my old friends seem to hate me now..."

"That's so sad!" (Y/N)'s eyes turned a deep blue to show her sorrow. "I'm sorry Berdly. You don't deserve this."

Berdly blushed again, shrugging. "Not much i can do"

Suddenly, (Y/N) reached out and took his hand, something that no one had done in a long time "Well I'm going to do something about it. Mark my words Berdly, no one'll treat you like a slave again as long as I'm here. Now, tell me about yourself."

She took his wing and they set off down the hall, walking and talking and laughing and Berdly could feel that this girl was going to change his life.

Kris felt their grip on their sword waver. No one was coming. No matter who they called, or how loud they screamed, it was just them and Spamton, sitting at a stalemate. Ralsei, Susie, even Noelle... They'd been abandoned.

Would they even want to help, a little voice wondered. After everything you did? Kris grit their teeth at the thought. It wasn't them, it was the little, red, heart shaped parasite that called itself a SOUL.

Kris closed their eyes, feeling the SOUL's wishes wipe away their own like dry erase marker. The feeling disgusted them, but they couldn't stop it. Despite the futility, they couldn't help but question it. Of all people, why them, who'd already been through enough?

You whispered Sweet's name...

K_K anxiously gnawed on a stale CD Bagel as they repeatedly glanced between the blueprints the fancy-talk guy gave them, and Sweet's lifeless body, plugged into a charging port in the wall. They and Cap'n finished repairs shortly before, both on themselves and Sweet. All that was left was to charge their old friend's body and pray that Sweet was even slightly OK if- No, when they woke up. When. They had to wake up... right?

In the garage, Cap'n huffed out a frustrated burst of static, shoving the barely coherent pile of parts aside as he faceplanted into the workbench. He couldn't work like this. Cap'n walked into the backroom where K_K was, hoping to at least keep the big guy company while they waited.

"Oh, Cap'n...!" K_K tried to give one of their usual cheery grins, but their heart clearly wasn't in it. "I heard the crash in the garage. Guess the building isn't working out? Haha... ha..."

"Yeah, I'm just... Ugh, I'm just- I'm too mad to do anything! And I'm worried as hell about-" Cap'n flinched as a loud blast of feedback burst from Sweet. The speaker jolted awake, eye wide open as they looked around.

"SWEET!" The two practically buried their boyfriend in a group hug.

"Y-You guys..." Sweet mumbled, relieved that Cap'n and K_K were OK. But... They had something to do. Kris needed them.

"I'm so glad you're OK! After all the mess in the city and the Beatdown thing and the Lightner-" K_K yelped as Sweet abruptly stood up, a strange faraway look in their eye. They started to approach the door.

"Hey! Don't get up yet, OK? We ran some repairs on you, but you still shouldn't push yourself. Whatever that Beatdown spell was, it really fucked up your system!" Cap'n said, standing between the Sweet and the door.

"H-Hey, I'm happy you're worried about me, but I'm fine, really... I just need to-" Sweet tried to push past Cap'n, but he stood firm.

"Need to what?" K_K asked.

"Kris needs my h-"

"The Lightner?!" Cap'n snapped, making Sweet flinch. "Sweet, they were the one who made you wipe out the whole damn city! They were the one who made you blow out your fuses! They tried to make you KILL US! Why are you helping them?!"

"I- I don't know." Something about this didn't feel right. He could still hear them. Still hear their voice. "I-I just have to!" Sweet shoved Cap'n to the ground, running out the door and running toward their turntable. K_K and Cap'n ran out shortly after, trying to hold him back.

"S-Sweet, you're acting weird!" K_K said, a pleading tone in their voice. "You can't help them! They've hurt too many people!"

"We are NOT letting you near them, you hear us!" Cap'n said. Sweet struggled in their grip. He had to help them, they needed him-

"The end justifies the means." That's what they told them...

Sweet cast Soundshock, forcing the two to let go. It stung to hurt them, but it wasn't like earlier in the city... As Sweet's turntable rose into the air, the need to help only grew stronger.

Cap'n looked down, fists clenched. "God damn it...!" K_K looked up at Sweet, then down the alleyway.

"... The doors. If we run, we can make it to one of those inter-dimensional door things, and then we can catch up and stop them!" They said, grabbing Cap's hand and running.

"... HIM? YOU'RE STILL TRYING TO [Use] HIM?" Spamton cackled. "YOU THINK HE CAN [Hear] YOU NOW, MUTTERING HIS NAME!? WHAT CAN HE DO, PLAY ME SOME [Minecrap Ambiance]?" Kris merely stood there. They didn't need to do anything.

"... HEY, WHAT'S THAT NOISE?"

For-fun Deltarune Theories?

Ralsei doesn't know who Asriel is, or that he even exists. Someone has to tell Ralsei that Kris has a brother that Ralsei looks like. The quest to figure what kind of person Asriel is will consume him for at least two chapters.

Queen is going to adopt Ralsei, forcibly, and introduce him to the area boss Mike. The two will have a series of hijinks trying to appease Mike into meeting them, while the rest of the cast have to fight their way out of danger.

Ralsei's going to eat a flower. This will be unreasonably ominous.

Susie's going to find out that Ralsei and Kris have exclusive talks about the prophecy, and feeling excluded, loses confidence that the pair consider her a friend. She maintains an aloof façade afterwards, doing her job as hero, but is a lot more despondent, and not really the passionate fighter she normally is.

Suzy will appear, be Susie's older sister, be a jerk, be Susie's clone from the bunker, and try to replace Susie in Hometown.

Susie is revealed to have amnesia about the details of her backstory, and spends at least one chapter angsting over the amnesia.

Kris will get to do the spoopy voice thing from snowgrave at the end of chapter 3. No one is hurt, it's just a puberty thing, and an useful ability for a party leader.

Kris will get a love interest. Kris will then derail the story for said love interest. Said love interest will be the center of the scene whenever Kris can get away with it. It's pretty obnoxious, or cute if you like getting invested in the love lives of hormonal teenagers.

Without us inside Kris, they get an alternate outfit in the Dark World, which is purple.

Noelle will create a Dark World, at the behest of Alvin, as the both of them hope to cheat death and create a world where their fathers can live properly. It works a little TOO well, and the pair has to be rescued from their own Dark World.

Noelle also realizes that Ralsei is a Darkner brought to life thanks to Asriel's memory, and using the porcelain doll she created with Dess, creates her own adorable Darkner way too reminiscent of her sister. Basically Olaf. Said Doll proceeds to help Noelle create her ideal Dark World, and later becomes the area Boss to stop Noelle from leaving.

Ralsei can go as he is into the Light World, and has a Light World form.

Noelle can turn Ralsei into a statue just by questioning his existence and mysterious nature.

Asgore's multicolored flowers are just the Six Souls from Undertale, copied almost wholesale. They turn out to be the area boss for chapter 5.

I like the idea that what Ralsei is for Kris's PHYSICAL health, Kris is for Ralsei's mental health.

Because Kris is an absolute goblin child who eats moss but

Because Ralsei spent the majority of his whole life alone in a massive, almost-definitely-haunted castle in a desolate wasteland, subsisting off of the bare minimum of social interaction to stay ALIVE via the occasional traveler passing through, and studying things like health and healing magic to keep himself occupied, mentally active, and, most importantly, SANE. so it would make sense that he knows how to keep somebody physically healthy, but has some rather intense psychological issues under the surface.

Meanwhile Kris is an absolute goblin child who eats moss but has faced some inner demons of their own and came out mostly on top, and thus has knowledge of keeping yourself mental healthy from personal experience.

So oftentimes Ralsei will have to tell Kris:

“Good god please stop eating random patches of Moss the moment you see it. At the very LEAST inspect the patch to make sure it’s a species of moss that’s even edible in the first place, PLEASE? You’ll get extremely sick if you keep doing this and I care far too much about you to let that happen.”

But just as often, Kris will have to tell Ralsei:

“The pool of cold sweat you woke up in after the nightmare you had last night was deep enough to be measured with a RULER and you’ve barely eaten anything in the last day. You are definitely Not Fine. PLEASE tell us whenever you’re not feeling okay, I will always be there to help”

And whenever Kris becomes incredibly sick, or Ralsei’s optimism begins to break and he can’t find the strength to get up in the morning, the other is always right by their side, ready to help and care for them.

It’s a neat and wholesome little dynamic they could have

This is the first serious ask I have EVER recieved and it’s a goddamn English essay so lemme dissect this. First, I’d just like to say this doesn’t really fit with my quirky and, for lack of a better reference, lolFoundation-ish Deltarune world, but it works enough for me to answer this in a way I hope you’ll like.

Ok SO. Ralsei would definitely wake up from a nightmare in a pool of cold sweat as wide as Noelle’s blush whenever Susie is within 2 feet which is saying something. And Kris would definitely pick up on it rather quickly. Personally I don’t think Kris is at the level of “mentally okay” to actually give Ralsei legit psychological help and they know that, BUT they care enough about their fluffy boi that the power of love heals in a way that nothing really matches if you catch my drift. As for loneliness…

* (You wake up.)

* (Blue light wafts in from the windows. The smell of dust tickles your nose as you get out of bed. You close your eyes and brush your fur.)

* (…)

* (There’s no-one here.)

* (You head to the library.)

* (As if by instinct, your feet carry you to a room with an old, worn book. Your scarf blows in the draft and you adjust your hat so you can see it better.)

* (It has a sepia cover, with six white words emblazoned on it.)

* THE LEGEND OF THE DELTA RUNE

* (Just like you’ve done every day since you manifested, you open it up. Instinctively, you read it out loud in your best storyteller voice. You hope the Heroes will like the Legend.)

* Once upon a time, a LEGEND was whispered among shadows…

The kind of nightmares Ralsei would have would just be waking up and having that life again. A lonely life, with no-one to talk to and an empty town mocking the prince without subjects. His worst nightmare would be waking up, and finding out that Kris and Susie are gone, and maybe they were just a dream, another fantasy he had about the Heroes he was created to help. It would be a horrifying and sad existence. Ralsei tries to suppress those memories, but they do come back to bite him.

But of course, like you said… Kris gets those feelings, they’re no stranger to having to conquer their own demons. And when Kris notices Ralsei being extra clingy, or his optimism fading, Kris will always be there for Ralsei, and they’ll just sit down in bed and play some Earthbound or something. They’re currently finishing Happy Happy Village (more on TFGPEB as it develops.). As for Kris, they’re enough of a gremlin that their psychological problems are just weird af and no one is quite sure what’s up with them. However, predictably, they will get sick a lot, physically and emotionally. It’s not uncommon for Kris to go to the DW and just end up fuckin… slicing up their pillow or something. That or they’re bedridden with a fever they got from eating a spider. Ralsei is there then, too. If Kris is feeling depressed, Ralsei cheers them up with the smell of a warm cake, or if Kris is fuckin’ furious at the world for whatever reason, they’ll usually end up with cupcake frosting all over their face and laughing their ass off. Also, yeah, like you said (sorry for this fucking shaggy dog essay), their physical health can be a problem. Ralsei jokes about keeping spellbooks of healing magic in Kris’s room for times when they catch, like, cholera from snacking on the walls of Top Bakery. (R: Kris. It’s a fucking building. K: but it looked like a cake! R: that’s not how food works. K: but it should beeeeeeee!)

Conclusion: everything you just said is correct. Also they love each other it is very wholesome and cute blah blah blah.

Tl;dr: Fluffy boi wants friends and human enby has issues. They love each other tho so it’s all fine.

Jevil Salt-Route Concept (Playmates Route)

Hey, anyone wanna hear my idea for an angsty Jevil Salt-Route equivalent? Basically you fix Jevil’s broken mind by showing him the world does have consequences, only to re-break it in a different way by showing him he’s nothing but a weapon! Fun!

To trigger the route, you must first defeat every enemy possible through fighting, up until right before the King battle. Then, you go through the process to unlock Jevil’s cell. If done right, Susie and Ralsei will refuse to go into Jevil’s cell with Kris because they feel strangely uneasy, and will instead go off to “scout around the castle” while waiting for Kris to come back out. When Kris enters the cell alone, Jevil comments, 

Saying yes will lead to him teleporting you to the very start of the Field of Hopes and Dreams.

Jevil will join your team. He’s equipped with Devilsknife and Jevilstail, which you can't remove as attempting to will have him say “YOU CAN’T REMOVE ME, ME FROM MYSELF!” He knows Card Bomb which attacks with a random card suit, an attack called Devilsknife which serves as our Frostshock equivalent, Carousel which places a shield made of birds around the party, and Wildcard which has the same random effects as Pirouette. He speaks his voice clips from his battle whenever he attacks or gets hit. He’s also clearly aware of the player, as if Kris falls in battle he’ll say, 

To continue the route, you must must kill every enemy you encounter as you make your way back to Card Castle, clearing out the whole dark world. Given Jevil’s preexisting reputation, they all run from you immediately. Along the way, you learn that Jevil is in fact a whiney brat prone to rage quitting. If you act even once, he’ll complain that you’re “playing the game wrong” and teleport you back to his cell, slamming the door after kicking you out. He’ll also throw a tantrum and quit if an enemy escapes. It doesn’t matter how you weaken them, but you must deal the final blow with Jevil’s Devilsknife attack to continue the route, as this causes them to explode into blood similar to using Snowgrave against regular enemies. 

Notably, you must also avoid having Kris attack. If they attack too many times, Jevil will comment that he had fun playing with you, but now he’s satisfied and wants to go back to his Freedom. To continue the route, you must have Jevil do all the fighting while Kris either defends or uses items. Eventually, Jevil will begin to complain, asking why you’re not helping, stop telling him what to do, this is boring, etc. Each time he acts up, you’re given the option to either apologize/explain yourself or say “Silence.” And this is where the fun begins.

As you move forward, Jevil’s comments will become less demanding and more unsure. In addition to Kris refusing to speak to him beyond “Silence,” the once plentiful enemies you encounter will slowly dwindle in number until there’s only one or two per area, and by the time you’re close to the castle, there’s sometimes none at all. (Note, if you try to enter Seam’s Seap along the way, you’ll get a message saying “Jevil pretended not to notice the shop.” Further attempts to enter will simply say “There’s no need”) Right before the castle, Jevil will comment:

On the next screen, you’ll be surrounded and attacked by a swarm of Rudinn Rangers, putting you in a fight against six at once. Jevil’s spells will now include Final Chaos for 100 TP. However, if you try to command Jevil, he’ll simply say “...” and waste his turn. Like with the Snowgrave fight, the Rudinn Rangers will only target Kris. If Kris falls, Jevil will say

 You must survive the fight long enough to command Jevil to use Final Chaos 5 times before he'll finally give in.

Final Chaos appears just like in his battle, and instantly kills all six Rudinns. Afterwards, the remaining Rudinns retreat. Immediately after that, Kris turns to Jevil on their own and begins walking slowly towards him.

From this point forward Jevil will not speak again. This includes no longer having his in-battle speech sounds. His sprite also loses its perma-smile and just looks sad. You are now locked into the route, as both characters will no longer have any act commands, spare button, or fight button, and Jevil’s only spell will be Devilsknife. You must kill every enemy in the castle on your way to the top. Attempting to reach the King before then will give the message “Not yet.” Also, attempting to use the elevator to the basement will give the message “Don’t give him ideas.”

Once every enemy in the castle is dead, you can find the King on the roof, alongside Lancer. Lancer will try at first to give his spiel about befriending the Lightners, only for his father to tell him that he’s been deceived, and in fact, one of the Lightners has freed a dangerous prisoner and gone on a rampage through the kingdom. Lancer won’t believe it... until he turns around and sees Kris and Jevil. Kris automatically approaches them while Jevil silently watches. Immediately the King steps in front of Lancer, warning him to flee while he holds Kris and Jevil back. Lancer stays put, still in disbelief, and a fight starts.

Once again, you must build up 100 TP to use Final Chaos, which is the only available attack. This time, Jevil does not try to resist when you command him to use it. However, right as he casts it, a text box pops up shouting “JEVIL, NO!” and Seam runs on screen in front of the King right before the screen cuts to black and a large red 9999 pops up in the center. When the screen returns, the battle is over and a pile of torn cloth and fluff is in the center of the roof. The King mutters “Seam... I’m sorry. Thank you,” before grabbing Lancer and running off screen. Jevil collapses to his knees, sitting there silently for several seconds before turning into the Devilsknife permanently. The message pops up “You got the BROKENKNIFE.” The Brokenknife is equipable only by Kris and has high attack stats but no special abilities. Its description is “A weapon. Good for fighting, nothing else.”

After this, Susie and Ralsei finally catch up to you. They explain that they were waiting for you in the basement, but you never came out of the jail so they thought they must have missed you. They also comment on how eerily empty the castle was on the way up. They then notice that the fountain is unguarded, and you all proceed to seal it. 

The scene back in the Lightworld goes as normal, except that instead of asking to go back, Susie says “Y’know Kris... I don’t think we should go back there. Sure it was awesome at first, but... on the way to the roof, we ran into Lancer and his dad. And they just ran past us, he didn’t even try to stop us! Which, sure, whatever, but... The way Lancer looked at us, running past? You’d think he thought we were serial killers or something. I don’t know what happened, but... I don't think he’d want to see us again. But hey, maybe just you and I can hang sometime? Y’know, if you want.” The rest of the post-chapter continues as normal, until you go to bed. Instead of the usual scene, you’re greeted with the chapter 1 game over screen, which proceeds directly to “And thus the world was covered in Darkness” as though you’d chosen not to continue. The game softlocks on this screen, forcing you to quit. When you load it again, that safe file still exists, but if you saved after the “point of no return,” attempting to load it will give the error message “This timeline has no future.”

Undiagnosed system here

Im pretty sure i was misdiagnosed with something else and i *know* im a system. i keep seeing things about how the goal should be to ✨ get better ✨ and not look for labels.

But i like my alters? Like theyve kept me safe all these years. And some of them are really funny 😫

Its just really frustrating that i keep finding posts telling me how i should be.

Point is, do you have any recommendations for spaces/resources for people like me? Really tired of it 😖

Hiya! Um so a few things:

Misdiagnoses are an unfortunate reality for many people, but with DID/OSDD, the presence of multiple conditions is quite common! Here’s an article by did-research.org on the comorbidities of dissociative disorders and other disorders/mental illnesses. It is entirely possible that you were diagnosed correctly, but are still a system! If you’re worried about being misdiagnosed, and having the correct professional diagnoses is important to you, it may be good to consider getting a second opinion from another psychiatrist or therapist.

(However, we’re big proponents of self diagnosis. At the end of the day, you and your system know yourselves better than anyone else. It’s okay to do your own research and come to your own conclusions about what disorders may affect you and your system!)

We don’t think the goals of “getting better” and “looking for labels” are mutually exclusive. Finding the right labels can help you better describe your experience and find community with people who are going through something similar. It can be incredibly healing and liberating finally having the words to talk about what you’re going through, and meeting others who share your sentiments!

Also, “getting better” does not have to mean losing your alters forever. Our goal in therapy is functional multiplicity; for us, that means building communication, working on relationships with each other, bringing down dissociative barriers and working to heal from trauma. It’s important to note both that functional multiplicity will look different for different systems, and some systems opt for fusion as opposed to maintaining their multiplicity! Neither of these are wrong or bad decisions - they are different treatment plans that work better for different systems.

As far as spaces go:

DISCORD

our system does not join discord servers for our own comfort, but one we had joined a while back is the Multiplicity Database server. This server has a lot of channels, an active mod team, rules for system safety, and 665 members!

Any of our followers who are in system discord servers that are WELCOMING to questioning systems, and INCLUSIVE to systems of all origins, feel free to make recommendations (though keep in mind anon that we won’t be able to vet servers suggested by other systems!).

"Have fun and stay safe, honey!" Mom calls out. You give a quick nod back, slipping out the door. Your friends are at the lake already, and you rush to catch up to them... or at least you'd love to, but it seems like that little red heart in your chest has other plans.

"Hey, hold on!" their childlike voice pipes up in your head as they stop you in your tracks. "Aren't you forgetting something?"

You grumble both mentally and out loud, hoping Lil' Red gets the message. "What do you want? We're already late," you think in reply.

"Exactly," the SOUL replies, "so you know Susie's gonna noogie you when we get there."

"Wh- Ok, I don't care, let's go," you snap, trying to get yourself to run already, but your legs stay put.

"So you gotta do something cool! Something amazing! Something so good she'll forget about you being late!"

You sigh and facepalm. "Like what. Also, whose fault is it that we're late? Which one of us was stuck there playing Cat Petters RPG for an ungodly amount of time?"

"O-Ok, ok, I get you," Red chuckles. "But I wanna make up for that! And I have just the right thing!"

"What is it."

"Roller Skates."

"What the hell do y- NO!" You realize you shouted that last word out loud and quickly throw your hands over your mouth. What the hell is Red thinking, though?! "I know you're a weirdo, but we are NOT doing that! Those are Azzy's, and they're way too big!"

"But come onnnn, it'll be cool!" they whine. "You can roll up there all smooth and stuff! Susie's gonna go wild, Ralsei's probably - no, DEFINITELY - gonna clap for you, even Noelle's gonna be impressed!" They pause for a bit, letting their argument settle in. "And besides, you're a weirdo too."

"Shut up," you think back at them. But they almost have a point...

"Come on, just this once. I'll help you put them on too."

You sigh. It's no use at this point anyway, and hell, it might be cool. "Fine, you win," you think, letting Red walk you back inside. "But I don't even know how to skate."

"Leave that to me," they beam confidently.

Susie's roaring laughter. Ralsei's gentle concern. Noelle's attempt at concern, interspersed with poorly-suppressed giggling.

All of the wonderful sounds of fall, ringing like music in your ears as you let the little red heart in your chest pull your dumb ass out of the lake.

Red's chuckle rings through your mind as well. "Um... that went great!"

"You think?" you shoot back, taking control to clamber onto the shore and wring out your soaked jacket.

"I mean, Susie forgot we were late!"

You huff. When Red drags your dripping wet self home later, maybe Mom will believe you this time when you say it wasn't your fault.
