Layne Staley is the only singer i come back to time and time again no matter how many years it’s been. I wish he was here, i wish he knew how influential he was and i wish he had gotten the help he needed. Mike Starr’s retelling of his last time seeing Layne always sends chills down my spine and i completely get why Mike blamed himself for all those years. How couldn’t you? Your best friend died and you were the last one to see him, you tried to help but risked losing him if you did, but you lost him either way.

I always think about what could have happened if Layne got the help he needed. Maybe he’d stop blaming himself about Demri, Maybe he’d still be making kick ass music. Maybe he still would have died.

I had no way of knowing him, i was 3 when he died! But i miss him every day. Any video i see with him makes me so happy, he was such a great guy by the looks of it and from the stories i’ve read. Layne Staleys been the center of my heart for so long, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

nothing makes time dilate more than walking in driving freezing rain with insufficient clothing, soaked though and averting your gaze from the specter of hypothermia who is flirtatiously stalking you about half a mile back. you check your watch after an ETERNITY and it’s been 2 minutes

#cyborg lifeblogging #I hoofed 10 miles in 3 hours gang #With a loaded pack #tbh the pack wasn’t very heavy tho #listen I made an error and I learned a lesson #I went up to the trail on a rainy day #and I was missing all my usual like. backup clothing gear cuz I’d cleared out my vehicle interior #cuz I was gonna be taking some clients out the next day #so I did this thang in the wrong pants. NO sweater #an old rain jacket that I think I need to retire… my beloved done soaked through #I did have a wool hat #but my extremities were all freezing cold and wet #the primary mode of heat was moving #by the end of it I was feeling some chill in my core #rip I really should not have done that #but I was stubborn and didn’t want to bail cuz I’d Driven to get here #wait omg someone did a 9 mile section run in 3 hours… I think this proves that I don’t ever need to get into running #it’s also supposed to be a very beautiful scenic trail with expansive views of the surrounding landscape #with the rain and mist . I saw nothing. xD #save for some neat plants. contemplated invasives and reshaped ecosystem #did feel alive tho

hello! how’ve you been? have you ever played interactive fiction? some of them kinda give off redacted asmr vibes! there are lots of mundane world-magic world stories. if you ever want to try it out, I think you’d like Noblesse Oblige (lots of complicated past occurrences, spooky magic, and rather extensive, puzzle-piecey backstories on the romance options).

that or Heart of Battle, specifically eryx’s route, because “pick up the pace and stop angling your hips like that, it's a disgrace. I'm not sure who I'd rather have to face: you, or a coddled Illustrious. At least the nobility would have better outfits” LMAO
