I think Noah's flashback that Seto sees. It really shows that Noah was just as much a pawn in Gozaburo's game as Seto was, and opens up a lot of possibilities for meta/fic/artwork for what their lives could be like if Noah had never had the accident.

14. what I think they want more than anything else.

Love. I think he wants to be loved and cared for by someone. I think he wants more than anything to remember what its like to be human. I think he... just wants to be a kid, if that makes sense.

9. Favorite minor character: Isono!!!! I always wonder if he was hired after Duelist Kingdom or if he was employed by KC when Gozaburo was running things (and what he may have been doing then). Where does his fierce loyalty to the Kaiba bros come from?

17: Have you ever cried over YGO and why?: I…I don’t think so? Experiencing the series ending for the first time I’m sure was emotional, but it was so long ago for me that I don’t really remember it.

C: What character do you identify with most?

Ygo wise 🤔 I'd say a pretty even mix between (early) Yugi and Seto. I'm shy and not very confident. But also Seto because I'm more slow to warm up to things and an introvert and fine with that. Oooh, counting spinoffs though I'd say Yusaku Fujiki from vrains.

Characters in general I would say Rei Kiriyama from Sangatsu no Lion 😊

S: Any fandom tropes you can't resist?

I'm always a sucker for the ol two people are sparing and end up pinning each other and there is tension (tm). I am also a big fan of two close friends always cause chaos whenever they are in the same room lol, but it's fun and harmless chaos.

Oh, no need to apologize! I just have Chronic Explain My Brain Syndrome, loll. Thank you, that's really nice to hear. Despite how much tumblr can mock the whole your-fave-is-problematic deal, its "all transgressions are created equal" thing is still the foundation of a lot of discourse on here, fiction-based or otherwise. So I guess the post will remain relevant until that stops being the case

i've said this before but like. people usually want to talk about media literacy as being a problem with literal comprehension (aka they want to call other people "stupid" so bad) but the actual problem is that in order to understand art, you have to want to make an effort to understand it, and a lot of people don't want to make that effort if they can interpret it in the worst faith possible as a vehicle to be mean!

For anyone who hasn't yet read the 2002 Yu-Gi-Oh! fanfic "Change of Heart" by Britani Gael (starring Yami Bakura, Ryou Bakura, and a great deal of extremely unsettling scenery), you should absolutely go read it. It's 20k words of action/adventure, hurt/comfort weirdness.

And then come back and make a donation to charity.

Everything had started almost immediately. The first force: he would do anything for Seto to touch him, squeeze his shoulder, hold his hand, stroke his hair. Something gentle or something loving or something anything to make him feel okay . His entire body was ablaze with silent pleading. Please just hug me. Please show me you still know how. Please.  The second: revulsion. Seto looked away. His phone glowed through the dark like a wayward star, a stolen star, dragged down from the heavens and pressed flat into a shell. As fast as you can, Isono, he said.

A/N: three-part Kaiba brothers DRAMA fic as a birthday gift for @rainstormcolors. This is not fic where they're fluffy and cute. This is a fic where they are angry and hurt and frustrated. The sky between the buildings was like ink and the sleet pelted down and was lit like embers as it passed through the orange of the streetlights. It was an alley somewhere in Domino City. The teenager named Seto Kaiba had an older man pinned to the pavement with all his weight on his foot to the man’s chest, the toe near the man’s windpipe. And Seto was panting and his hair was wet and the Millennium Rod was tucked into a loop of his belt. The Millennium Rod left to him by his late father Gozaburo Kaiba.
