I made these Pokedex pages for my regional legendary beasts. I might do some with my other fakemon/regional forms.
(I may have the size scale a bit off, but it's still good)
A bit of a fun fact is that I sometimes base shiny colorations off of various characters. In this case, Raikou's shiny form has colors based off Cloud Strife and Entei's are from Toyosatomimi no Miko. I just picked Suicune's colors because I thought they looked cool on her.

Though it is very American of us to call the Legendary Beasts 'dogs' and it's kind of funny knowing real history. Chinese Guardian Lion statues where always referred to as lions or Shishi, Tongshi, and Ruishi.
There was never the mention of a dog, though when they went through Korea and ended up in Japan, Japan referred to them as Korean Dog statues, perhaps mistaking the statues for the bulkier dog breeds in China/Korea that were bred to look like dogs.
And of course, in America, some people ignorantly call them Foo Dogs, possibly due to the mixup from Japan. Otherwise, similar statues in Tibet, India, Sri Lanka, and most other countries of Asia have names for these statues that derive from the word Lion.
So... Raikou, Entei, and Suicune are indeed based on cats, but because of the vague, godly, and guardian-like appearance, something gets lost in translation and they are considered more like dogs for the way they stand guard and protect a sacred area.
But let's talk about the REAL Legendary Dog: Arcanine.
Arcanine is the funniest Pokemon. It's the literal representation of how a Chinese mythical creature, the guardian lion, was played a game of telephone and ended up in Pokemon as a canine with tiger stripes, with a regional variant that doubled down on Japanese Komainu, or "Korean Dogs."
tl;dr Pokemon was very confused about cats and dogs for a while, but Arcanine is way more of a dog, while Entei/Raikou/Suicune are way more of a cat. All of these Pokemon have very similar inspirations, however.

I don't know if it was something me and buds thought of or something just funny but......
Step-Mama Raikou Au
Teams RWBY and JNPR we're in the forever fall forrest a small mission given to them as a test. During a spread out Jaune was seperated from the others and from there met a Ursa variant trying to fight off unfortunately got his sword disarmed and stuck into its hide. That was until a few arrows struck it in the eyes and familiar purple lighting slices the grimm in half.
"Jaune?" The young man flinched when he heard the words said behind him in a familiar voice. "Jaune, is that you?"
Jaune gulped, then slowly turned around. Of all the people in his life he expected to find at Beacon once more, his stepmother was not high on his list to expect. Finally meeting her lavender gaze, Jaune felt a lump in his throat grow bigger. She gave him a soft smile, as she brushed her hand against his cheek.
"My son." She cooed, pulling him into a hug. "It's been too long. Are you unharmed?"
"Mo-" Jaune cleared his throat, pushing away. "I mean, what are you doing here, Misses Raikou?"
"So formal." She rested her head in her hand. "You've grown into such a gentleman that you'd address your own mother by her name." Removing her cheek, she brought a finger under her eye, catching a tear that slipped away. "I can't tell whether to be proud of you or sad that you've grown up without me knowing."
"I..." Jaune shook his head. "I'm in the middle of a test, Misses Raikou! I need to get back to my team."
"Will you allow me to escort you, my son?"
Jaune looked to the Ursa his stepmother annihilated. This might have been the closest Jaune ever felt pity for a heartless monster driven by a lust for destruction of all things man-made. That said, Jaune knew that though his stepmother assisting would be a boon that ensured him finding the rest of his team would be the easiest thing possible, but it would also rob him the chance to prove to everyone, including himself that he had what it took to become a huntsman.
"No." He shook his head. "I have to do this on my own."
She smiled at him, then brought him close for another hug. This time, he accepted it, and hugged her back. At this, she squeezed a little tighter. They then let go, though who let go first would be up for debate at a later point, if ever.
"Go." She said. "Do your family proud."
Jaune nodded, then fled from where she stood. Behind her, a Grimm reared back to strike her. In a blink, everything around her had be sliced and destroyed with little more than a clack of her sword seating in it's sheath to prove that there was any movement at all. She then walked through the ashes of the foul Grimm, already spewing ash from it's lifeless form.

The first of the legendary beast trio, Raikou, joins us as today's Beta Pokemon of the Day!
This variant is much darker in colour and lacks a lot of the ornamentation found on the more well-known Raikou.

Would it be possible to list what Pokemon didn't appear on any pills? I get it if that's too much work...
It's a little bit of work, but not enough to deter me! Here's a read more with it, because. It's a long list ^^; I'm putting any regional variants or mega evos at the end!

A deep dive into Scarlet and Violet's lore
Okay so, since the story's kinda the only good thing about these games alongside the characterizations I wanted to share a couple of ideas I have in mind regarding the story so far.
Tumblr media
As always excuse eventual grammar errors and strange periods, English is not my first language and I'm trying my very best ahahah
Obviously there are going to be spoilers about the endgame, so beware!
Can we all agree that the time machine and the Pokémons from the past/future thing just has so many holes in it?
Like sure, Turo and Sada are geniuses and may very well have been able to create some sort of machine that allows Pokéballs to travel across time to catch these variants of Pokémons we know in the present, but.
I'm kinda confident that these Pokémons (if we want to call them that) do not come from a different time, they just don't exist at all, or at least they're not supposed to. I mean, they specifically chose to call them Paradoxes, things that shouldn't exist in the first place but are there in front of your eyes somehow. Not Past or Future Forms, not Prehistoric or Futuristic Forms, Paradoxes.
Let's take the Scarlet ones for example for a minute: how come there is no trace left whatsoever of these Pokémons like the Fossils? And don't get me started on Sandy Shock, come on, how the hell is a magnet existing millions of years ago. They don't make sense!
If we read the Scarlet/Violet Book we learn that the Paradoxes, the same ones, have already been encountered by the Area Zero Expedition, which explored the Area Zero 200 years ago, and also very likely during the Great Expedition Era which was around 2000 years ago, and of course no time machine existed back then. This is obviously very strange and Arven as well points this out in the post-game.
So the question is: where exactly do they come from?
Let's start by saying that everything that happened in the Area Zero, from the Terastal phenomenon that was later brought to the surface, the production of an AI able to copy the Professor in any way that couldn't have been made with the modern human technology, to the making of the time machine was all thanks to the power of the crystals present down there which, we know, come from the infamous third legendary.
Tumblr media
I strongly belive, and I see that a great part of the community agrees, that this thing is able to materialize people's imagination, to make their dreams come true.
Think of this: the Professor adores the Scarlet/Violet Book, they bring it together with them since they were kids, they fantasize about a "paradise" described in this book and this dream never leaves them while growing up and they dedicate their whole lives to fulfill it. This dream clearly becomes an obsession, they neglect their child, the AI they created starts to disagree with them, but they still proceed until they succeed in creating the time machine. (Personal opinion: the game should have definitely explored the motive behind the Professor's actions more) But is it really a time machine or is the third legendary making their dream come true by bringing them the creatures they always read about? As long as the machine works neither the Professor and the AI question its actual nature, obviously they take for granted that it's a time machine.
Following this line of logic the machine helped the AI to fulfill their dream by making them go to the world they wished to explore.
To further support my theory take a look at this page of the Scarlet Book:
Tumblr media
1) Why would they put this page in the game (and leakers say we will have this thing in the DLC) which is clearly centered on someone's imagination if the Paradoxes simply come from different times? Because they don't.👀
2) It's absolutely IMPOSSIBILE for this thing to exist in the past. Raikou, Suicune and Entei were born after the Burned Tower incident about 150 years ago thanks to Ho-oh bringing them back to life in their new form, they couldn't have ever existed in ancient times.
And with that I rest my case, Your Honor.
It's very obvious that the DLC is going to be very story driven and I'm very excited to see how things will turn out (while on the other hand they could have said something more now instead of finishing the main story in a DLC but welp, they gotta convince you to buy it somehow)
Let me know about your opinions!

but yeah there is indeed a boss in Pokemon Colosseum that abuses the shit out of Rain Dance + Thunder. other Greatest Hits from various bosses throughout Colo/XD include spamming status conditions (particularly Attract, paralysis, etc.), abuse of Weather Ball (which gets a special variant for XD's move "Shadow Sky"), Rain Dish + Leech Seed abuse, and ofc the infamous Protect + Earthquake spam
And that's not even getting into the Colosseum bosses having Shadow versions of Entei, Suicune, and Raikou that you gotta steal from them
While we're talking Colosseum strats I would also like to give a shoutout to the guy who uses a Slowking to skill swap Truant off of his Slaking

Made sure to stop by and tell him hi for you, just like you requested. /lh /t
He's trying to understand the legends of Ecruteak, like always ... it's funny because Aria had no interest in the Legendary Pokémon of Johto, yet here she is, sandwiched between these two guys who're obsessed with them. She's "the normal one." /j
She then proceeds to become obsessed with hunting the Shint variants of these Legendaries.
~ 🪻
ok ngl this got submerged with other notifs i ended up forgetting to reply to this soon, my bad my bad BUT YAYYYY MORTYYYY!!!!!! 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹💚💚💚💚💚 his hair isSOOO fluffy!!!! look at it oooo..
aria literally went from not caring about the legendaries ... something that eusine and morty already had interest in... - to WANTING their shiny variants like omg she did not settle for LESS shes going full hunter mode!!! it's already not easy catching these dogs... or cats... (entei and raikou are cats to me and suicune is a dog... AKAKSKS)

Gen II, Complete!
That's right everyone! We successfully made it through our Kantonian friends and their variants!
As such, allow me to begin the listing of this generations...
Sultans of Smash!
(Which is just a fancy way of saying they got more "Smash" than "Pass" votes)
So with that said, let's see who made the cut! Our Smashables are (under the Read More because, even if this is a bit shorter than the last one, holy fuck we're gonna be here a while):
Similar to Gen I, we start our list with the Kanto grass starter, Meganium! Reaching a 51.3% Smash vote, I guess people do indeed like that herb.
Hold on to your hats, everyone, because we've already got someone raking in The Big Numbers! That's right, Typhlosion has really pulled out some big wins. At a 66.4% Smash rating for Kantonian Typhlosion, we can easily see people like it hot. But that pales in comparison to their Hisuian cousin, who has managed to hit an overwhelmingly high vote of 82.5% (our highest percent so far)! I don't even have an attempt at a snappy quip for that one, that's just straight impressive.
Of course, we can't forget our reptilian, water-typed friend here. Yes, Feraligatr has made it to the list with a 54.2% Smash vote!
Now don't be shocked by this next one folk, though considering their typing I'm sure that'll be hard. Ampharos, that strange mix of a sheared sheep and a lighthouse, has been voted 58.2% smashable in Standard form! But much like Typhlosion, a change in form jumps that number way up, with Mega Ampharos hitting an impressive 70.3% Smash rating! Guess that luxurious hair really does add something...
Hey look at that, further proof the Eeveelutions just have that certain something to them. That's right, it's Espeon with a solid 60.3% Smash rating! You don't need ESP to see how popular they are with that kind of number.
And of course, we can't forget that dark-typed partner of Espeon, Umbreon! With a pretty good 59.3% rating, it seems Umbreon is right there with their fellow Gen II Eeveelution in the fields of smashing. But honestly, this is as it should be, Umbreon and Espeon are one of the classic "Do Not Separate" PokePairs.
Do you like big bugs, and you cannot lie? Because according to Scizor's polls, some of y'all certainly do! With a 59.7% for Standard Form and a nice, whole 57% for Mega Scizor, it seems this Pokemon's big meaty claws are good for more than just fighting! (...Yes I'm aware what I'm referencing there is coming from a cartoon crab not a cartoon bug but uh, consider: I don't care I think it's funny anyways.)
This one's yet another strange one, Houndoom has been voted 55% smashable... As Mega Houndoom. But sadly for Standard Houndoom, they juuuust lost out at a frustratingly close 49.6% Smash rating! But, this loyal hellhound made it in some capacity, so congratulations are still in order!
Here's a kind of crass one for y'all: what do FGO's depiction of famed Japanese general Minamoto no Raikou and the Legendary Pokemon Raikou have in common? If your answer is "Both are considered smashable", then congrats, you've nailed it! (Well, you've nailed the quiz, not either of the Raikous.) Yes, The Legendary Beast Of Lighting Raikou has made the list with a 55.6% Smash rating. I suppose they've made their way into people's hearts like a bolt from the blue!
Now I'm sure y'all weren't expecting just one member of the Legendary Beast Trio to make it into the Sultans of Smash, and you'd be correct. Entei has also made it in with a fine 63.2% smash rating! The blazing passion many feel for this emperor of flames cannot be denied, it seems!
And last but certainly not least of the Legendary Beasts, like a howling gale Suicune cuts their way into the Sultans of Smash with an impressive 72.2% Smash rating (and a very ringing endorsement of being the "sexiest motherfucker on the ocean" according to one tumblr user)! The North Wind they herald may be cold, but the feelings of Suicune's fans are some of the hottest we've got, it seems.
Seems this next one destroys more than just mountainsides, because Tyranitar has been voted Smashable both in Standard form (59.2%) and in Mega Evolution (51.8%)! Shame it takes so damn long to get Tyranitar, how is anyone supposed to smash when they're so far away?!
But at any rate, capping off this listing of the Sultans of Smash, we have everyone's favorite bird... dragon... leviathan beast thing, Lugia! Ranking at a damn good 68.5%, Lugia's not just a master of the Legendary Bird Trio, but a master of Smashing it seems! ...Probably helps that the Pokemon 2000 movie has Lugia talking. Passing the Harkness Test is a lot easier when you have words!
And with that, we have concluded the Gen II Who's Who of Smashing! This brings us to a total of 43 Sultans of Smash! Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for Gen III's list!

There's a lot of open spaces that I might fill with side characters someday, but for now this is all I got. There are some extra chosens that count as honorable mentions, though:
Professor G- A scientist that's lost in Ultra Space, who's the chosen of a young Mewtwo she took into her care named Simon.
Lotus- A chosen of a Laerosan Celebi, a variant from my fan region Laeros.
PB- An alternate universe version of Blake who's the chosen of Meloetta in their world. They're not in Heroverse obviously, but I thought I might as well mention them anyway.
Oh also I forgot the other Teal Mask legendaries but like... Dunno if I'm ever really gonna do anything with 'em.

Generation IX Pokemon Nicknames, Part 2
Continuing!
Tumblr media
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
A toxic seed that's made of stone? Hmm. Kind of looks like a Shelgon without limbs. And blue. "Bluegone". It's blue, and its limbs are gone.
Tumblr media
Huh, a skeletal dog with a tombstone on its head. It actually looks pretty cool. Kind of like a Cuphead enemy. "Tombhead".
Tumblr media
A flamingo without the n. "Anti Plasma". It really doesn't like N.
Tumblr media
... What is that? It has a lot of HP, but the worst defensive typing ever. I can't see me making one.
Tumblr media
Carvanha-esque fish. ... Ehn, its stats are pretty bad, so I doubt I would ever make one.
Tumblr media
Whiscash-esque fish. Dondozo, huh? The name reminds me of Yakuza 8's Dondoko Island. So... "Trash Pirate".
Tumblr media
This tiny fish had oddly high stats. Why. I'll call this "Sushi Gin", the restaurant that you go to in MANY Yakuza games. I think it actually exists in Kabukicho?
Tumblr media
Undead Primeape? Looks more like an undead Mankey "Ex-Mankey".
Tumblr media
... Huh. So instead of Alola forms of Kanto Pokemon, we have... whatever this is of Johto Pokemon? Well, if I never made a Quagsire or a Girafarig... And Dunsparce came back because why not.
Tumblr media
Huh, a Bisharp evolution. That's cool. From a Pawn to a Bishop, to a King. ... Isn't that a demotion, given chess rules? At least it makes my nicknames for this thing pretty easy. It'll be whatever my Bisharps are named, except... I would need to re-RNG them. "Promotion" and "Centurion".
Tumblr media
... Um... huh? These all have the same Ability, but... they're just monster versions of existing Pokemon? ... ??? Well, I guess the nicknames are pretty straight forward. From the top, "Nahpnod", "Ffupylggij", "Sugnooma", "Suigamsim", "Anoraclov", and "Notengam".
Tumblr media
... The hell? These are just... robotic versions of existing Pokemon? These are like the Purifier variants of regular Protoss units in Legacy of the Void. Hmm. Well, I can't give unique names to each of these like the Purifier faction units, so... from the top, "Mechaphan", "Delibot", "Harifier", "Hydragoon", "V-07-CAR-0N4", and "Robotar". ... Hydragoon sounds like a Hydralisk crammed inside a Dragoon chassis...
Tumblr media
Hm. So the base 600 total non-Legendary is once again a Dragon type. Dragon/Ice, eh? Hmm... I wonder if a Dex Holder team overhaul is in order... Baxcalibur, the Dragon/Ice typed Ice Dragon Pokemon. ... Then its name must be "Dragon Ice". Dragon Ice the Dragon/Ice typed Ice Dragon Pokemon.
Tumblr media
... "Coinstring", because that thing looks like the Cheesestring mascot, but it's made of coins.
Tumblr media
Huh, so these must be the region's trio/quartet. Why the Chinese sounding names? Isn't Generation IX supposedly to be based on Spain? I still rarely name Legendary Pokemon, so... none for now.
Tumblr media
More of these weird monster/mecha variants. Monsters get the names of "Ecnemalas" and "Enucius", and the mechs get "Gallade 3.0" and "V.1r1 Zion".
Tumblr media
I assume these are the version mascot Legendary Pokemon. Hmm... I have no nicknames for these.
Tumblr media
Huh. Apple Dragon. Why are these two so far apart in Dex number? Grass/Dragon so it gets annihilated by the Dragon type's classic weakness of Ice, eh? Well, if I had to give it a name, I would call it "Invaluable". Fits the Apple Dragon quite well. Apple, because of who sings the song "The Invaluable" and in what album, and Dragon because it's the ending song of Yakuza 8, or Like a Dragon 8.
Tumblr media
... "Mugman".
Tumblr media
... Is that another trio in the same region? Hmm...
Tumblr media
Huh. There's... a lot of text associated with this one. I ain't reading all that. It's a Mask Pokemon. Okay. I have nothing.
Tumblr media
Huh. Another base stat 600 total non Legendary, and another Dragon at that. It's a... bridge dragon. ... I got nothing good.
Tumblr media
More monsters and robots. Well, there was a monster Suicune, so get the monster Raikou and Entei here... in reverse order because why not (Dex goes Raikou, Entei, then Suicune). And there was that robot Virizion, so get Cobalion and Terrakion in here... also in reverse order (Cobalion, Terrakion, then Virizion). ... F*ck Keldeo, I guess. So from the top, "Ietne", "Uokiar", "Robokion", and "Carbot". I was going to say "Cobot", but that sounded like Carbot, so... Carbot it is, from Carbot Animations. ... What is with this generation and knock off copies of existing Pokemon?

So we have a gem-turtle, then we have a roadkill form, and then a... er... Gigantamax form where the turtle stands on top of its roadkill form that's above a Protoss Plasma Shield flare... ... bwuh? That's a fancy ass turtle, so I'll give it the name of... "Gemtle". The most non-fancy name there is.

Last one! ... A peach seed Pokemon, eh? ... It has base stat 88 across the board except Def, which is at 160. Hm... that's... pretty mediocre. Not bad, but... not amazing. ... I got nothing super creative. So "Poison Seed" it is.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Whew. That's all of them. There was a lot more than I thought there'd be. And I guess it's pretty hard to come up with a suitable nickname for Pokemon in a game that I will never have and don't want.
Given the sheer number of monsters and robots, you'd think the game's region was based on Tokyo and not Spain.
Now, the Baxcalibur and Archaludon are the only base stat total 600 non Legendary that I did not yet give to a Dex Holder in overhaul posts, in my mission to give each one to a Dex Holder. Obviously the overhaul posts only matter in whatever short story I make that uses Pokemon, but... I might as well see that mission through. ... But who...

Made some art for regional variants of the three legendary beasts based on their beta designs and various big dogs. Entei is partly inspired by a maned wolf, Raikou has traits from striped hyenas and Suicune has some influence from arctic wolves.

#7 for the ask game?
What do you think about rare Pokémon, or people owning them? Legendaries, mythicals, even ultra beasts and paradoxes? Hisuian variants?
OOC: In my canon Legendary Pokémon that are deemed both populated enough and safe enough to own are allowed to be caught. The Trainer would need to have a permit in order to do so, and they’re only allowed to have three Legendary Pokémon at a time. The Legendaries allowed to be caught would include ones like Entei, Raikou, and Suicune, Zapdos, Articuno, and Moltres, Latias and Latios, the Regis (not including Regigigas), Shaymin, Darkrai, Cresselia, etc. The Legendaries that are illegal to own are the ones that are either too powerful and not safe enough to keep in captivity or are ones that help keep balance in the world. In other words, basically the box Legendaries. Pokémon like Ho-Oh and Lugia, Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza, Palkia, Dialga, and Giratina, Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyrurem, etc. are never permitted to be caught. Ultra Beasts are also not allowed to be owned by Trainers, as there isn’t enough information on them and they tend to be unpredictable.
As for Hisuian Pokémon…I guess? I originally would have said no because they’re extinct variants, but it seems like you can own them in Scarlet and Violet. My explanation is that scientists found a way to revive them just like they did with fossil Pokémon, but they don’t exist naturally in the wild.
I’m honestly not sure about Paradox Pokémon. I know you can own them in Scarlet and Violet, but it’s because of the use of a time machine, which…is a bit too unrealistic for my canon. I do try to stay true to the canon the best I can, but I also like to mix in a healthy amount of realism as well. For now it’s just something that’s undecided.

skullboneandunown:
The hairs on Donovan's neck were standing on end as they stepped out into the cavern of crystals, Razor stalking ahead of the group a bit. "Razor, be careful! We don't know what's down here!" The memories of the pair of Koraidon and Miraidon flash in his mind, and he knows Razor isn't ready for that. He pulls out a tablet from his satchel, and scratches his head. "There's too much interference from these crystals to get an accurate reading. It says there's something further in, but the scans aren't one hundred percent sure on what it is." He leaves the relative safety of the group to walk with Razor, waving his tablet around, trying to get a reading. As the group goes deeper, a pokemon resembling Raikou, but with a really long neck watches them from a crystal platform some distance away, partially hidden by a crystal jutting out from it's platform. "They are getting closer. And Walking Wake has spotted another on the surface. What are your orders?" ".....Follow the group with Gouging Fire. As I said before, do not engage unless they threaten it."

Ashe gives a nod as Leon steps forward and has a look around. She could tell he was tense and felt out of his element here. He wasn't like Donovan or her with special abilities or connections. Victini had long since died and he was just left with the aftermath effects. Instead, he picks up a pokeball and calls out his Aegislash. The shiny variant, being ghost-type, isn't phased by the crystals, but he looks back at his trainer, noting his pensive look. Giving a simple nod, Excalibur takes the lead with Ashe and Lucky moving forward with Zamazenta's Shield to take his hand.
"I'm here with you, Leon." She grips his hand to which he offers her a gentle smile. Ashe then turns and offers her hand to Donovan. "And my sworn brother is with us too." They'd descend into this madness together... and honestly, she wasn't sure what they might find.

Following up Raikou, we have Entei as today's Beta Pokemon of the Day!
This variant sports actual fire on its legs and tail with a more canine-like appearance.
