Think about BG3HD, Slimecicle’s bg3 play through. Then think about bg3. Think about how everyone talks.
Just think about the fUCkhINg cONtrAST okay. Between the main four’s absolute buffoonery, their rambling, and then EVErY npc they come across. So eloquent. So British. Think about the fucking NARRATOR. She’s so mysterious and serene and fucking crystalline. And she’s narrating for THESE GUYS.
Picture, if you will, BG3HD as an actual anime. The video does it well enough, but imagine like, the full thing with three seasons and more dialogue. They had 200 hours, alright, what do we really need to make up? And imagine the bg3 narrator as their/the audience’s narrator. Bonus points if it’s PAIRED with Charlie/Xiv’s narration from the video. Fucking wild.
Or just… whatever they were saying in the ‘editor’s cut’ (please exist please exist please exist), and just. Just listen to clips online, of bg3 audio, and imagine the four/three/four plus rai responding to that.
An alternative? Rai as the narrator. His little ghost at the end inspired this one. He never outright says “us”, “we”, “I was there that blue transmasc that’s me”. But the way he talks implies he has a deep connection to the other three, even if it’s somewhat one-sided. His emotions and opinions will be clear as day (the latter outright stated and used for funnies, the former a bit more subtle and genuine). He’ll refer to the group as ‘our heroes’, in classic narrator fashion, and I can see him saying “our heroes, plus Rai” because it’s funny, and also I imagine his ghost harbours a lot of regret for his attempted amicide.
I quite like this idea. Somebody make a fanfic.

'This is why sorcerers shouldn't learn to read! You always thought you were so much better than me. We should never have trusted you!'
SOBBING SCREAMING CRYING THROWING UP OMFG
People really say video gamers have moments where they become voice actors and then just procede to show clips of people screaming. This is a true video gamers become voice actors moment. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

I said I'd make more slimecicle bg3 art. So, here's a reference sheet for Rai! Specifically if he wasn't bound by BG3 clothes restrictions, and could slay

title: weren’t we the stars in heaven? (from anything by adrienne lenker)
word count: 2444
desc: the boys explore the new world. grizz finds solace. bizly becomes a dog. condi finds stuff.
this one’s shorter but it’s for all the baltcvp fans out there. it’s technically chapter 6 but im posting it like this because someday it’s gonna be edited to high hell so yeag!!!!
the light of a new dawn raises over the landscape, a pale pink glow that cracks through the leaves of the trees. grizz looks around in almost childlike wonder, stunned at how abundant the life has grown here. he spins around slowly, taking in all these natural creations that are truly natural. he didn’t make anything here. this world formed all this all on its own.
“you have any influence on this, big g?” condi says from a few feet away. grizz stops spinning and turns to him, a small grin spreading on his face. he sees condi is softly smiling his way, bizly grinning brighter than the sun not much further away.
grizz shakes his head, wings fluttering. “i....no, not at all.” his voice drops to a whisper. “and that’s what’s fuckin’ amazing about it.”
from the looks of things, this world is in its spring. some trees are fully bloomed, leaves swaying in the early morning breeze, where others are still flowered. several kinds of birds flit in and out of the branches, and grizz follows a bluebird as it flutters onto bizly’s shoulder, nuzzling its head against his cheek. bizly gently scratches under its beak, whispering something to it as it almost seems to nod and flutter away. one perk of being the god of mobs, grizz has learned through bizly, is that he can communicate simple things with them. grizz has seen him do it before, yes, but it’s such a shock to see him do it again after all this time.
“what’d you tell the bird?” condi asks bizly as the bluebird flies out of sight, head slightly cocked in the way he always seemed to when he was confused.
“told her to spread the word.” bizly’s grin grows wider as birdsong builds up around the three.
condi’s brow furrows. “what word?”
“that their gods are back.”
and at his words, it’s like the world bursts to life.
the sun glows a fiery orange as it rises higher over the horizon. soft snuffles of wild mobs suddenly grow almost louder as they begin to peek out from the brush around them. everything seems almost a little more vibrant as a giggle works its way out of grizz when a sheep nuzzles against the backside of his wings. the feathers flutter as he spreads them wide, the sun’s rays beginning to warm his face. he opens his arms, facing the sun with his eyes closed.
“what’re you doing?” bizly says through a laugh behind him.
“saying hello to our new world.” grizz opens his eyes and leans his head back, shooting the other two a smile. condi smiles softly in return, where bizly, goodnaturedly, laughs just slightly louder.
grizz catches condi’s eye, his gaze still flipped, as the latter reaches up to rub a deep green leaf between his fingers.
condi raises an eyebrow. “hey, grizz,” he says, a challenge in his eyes.
“hmm?” grizz spins around, bringing his head back to normal levels.
condi gently tugs at the leaf, shaking the branch it’s attached to. “what kind?”
a smirk spreads onto grizz’s face as he quickly clocks the tree. “dark oak.”
condi plucks the leaf, swiftly adding it to and opening his inventory. he nods, impressed. “you still got it.”
“after all this time, i still excel at identifying trees. a wonderful talent.”
“how the fuck can you tell?” bizly half mumbles, squinting at the tree.
grizz sighs dramatically. “it’s in my blood, bebo. just as much as you being able to talk to birds is.”
“oh, shut up.”
a chorus of laughter rings through the air. the three chat about basically nothing for another good five minutes before condi takes his leave. he walks off with a wave, yelling something about keeping an eye out over his shoulder, leaving the other two alone.
“and then there were two,” bizly notes with a smirk.
“and then there were two.” grizz raises an eyebrow. “what’re you smilin’ at me like that for?”
bizly lightly pops his neck, the smirk softening into a more relaxed grin as he doesn’t answer the question. “you wanna explore?”
grizz considers this. it’d be fun to look around with bizly, to make jokes and tease each other and marvel at this blank slate before them. but....
“i think i wanna see it all on my own first,” he says, biting gently on the inside of his cheek. “explore my domain, see what this place has to offer, find all the little nooks and crannies i didn’t make, et cetera. y’know?”
bizly nods knowingly. “that’s fair, yeah. i’ll be around if you wanna come find me, though!” his grin could split the earth.
grizz smiles softly as his friend bounds off, sending a loud whoop ringing through the air.
the breeze once again rustles through grizz’s hair, the leaves swaying with the strands. he stands in the middle of the forest they’d arrived in, searching for anything unfamiliar, something he hadn’t seen before, something he’d never made, and before long, he found it.
it wasn’t something he’d never seen, but it’s surely something he’d never added to the old world. pink petals bloom on the branches around him, others sagging down to nearly touch the ground with their pale green leaves. cherry trees. weeping willows. ones he saw grow during his time as a spirit, but ones he never got to truly experience.
despite that, they were ones he’d fallen in love with.
the petals dance down around grizz, landing in the crystal clear pond that takes residence in the middle of this small hidden pocket he’d found. he’d made himself a secret garden before, hidden away in the old world, and tears well in his eyes as he realizes this is one. this world made all of this without his influence, but he can almost feel that it was made for him. the branches of the cherry trees create a sort of canopy roof, the willow branches making curtained walls. the sun peeks through, shedding soft pink light through the cherry petals.
grizz turns his gaze away from the makeshift roof to the pond, the iridescent waters softly shifting as small fish swim around. his eyes follow to the flowers that grow around it, breath catching in his throat as a familiar red and black flower sways in the soft breeze. a poppy.
“i got you a poppy, and you a poppy....”
grizz hands his companions each one of the red flowers, a smile wide on his face. condi smiles softly, where charlie raises an eyebrow.
“so when you see death hurtling at you at high speeds, you can look down and think of me!” a soft giggle sounds from grizz’s throat as he dramatically throws his arms outward. “and i’ll already be dead.”
condi and charlie burst into laughs alongside him, both tucking the flowers away for safekeeping in their inventories, but they fade into shouts and screams as the wind begins to tear their makeshift home apart.
the memory rattles grizz. he brings a hand up to wipe his face, feeling salty tears beginning to stream down his cheeks. the boys always teased him every time they saw poppies sprouting around the world, bizly less so in on the joke since he wasn’t there that first time, and eventually they just associated the flower with him as a whole. it made sense; grizz was always dressed in shades of reds and blacks, and it always bloomed just as brightly as his disposition. plus, as it was—and is—his domain, he’d always felt inclined to check what, if any, rumors or symbolism were given to parts of nature. it’s one of those odd innate senses he has as a god, like knowing exactly what kind of tree is in front of him or being able to craft a weapon out of most anything.
but when he died, even as a ghost he heard whispers.
mortals associated his flower with death.
they also represented remembrance, specifically of the dead. this struck him as odd at first, but then he would remember the funeral. being able to speak to his friends for one last time, and as he was leaving....
three poppies, planted in the soil of his grave.
grizz sighs, properly sitting down and tugging his sweatshirt off, maneuvering around his wings with expertise. it exposes a simple white t-shirt, and when another slight gust of wind passes through, his arms prickle at the cold. he extends a hand out toward the poppy, and, slowly but surely, a soft red glow coats the petals down to the stem. it slowly grows toward him, curling itself around his fingers and down his arm. when he’s satisfied, he gently plucks it off the ground, inspecting his handiwork. he’d always loved accessorizing with plants and such. on special occasions, he’d wrap floral vines around himself to give a little bit of flair. now, he smiles down at the single poppy that rests over his heart.
a soft patter of something above him startles grizz out of his own head. he raises a tentative hand to the sky, the one not covered in poppy stem, and feels a gentle drop of liquid come to place on his finger. rain. that smile already on his lips grows at the realization.
“all natural, baby,” he whispers to himself as the droplets slip through the petals of the cherry blossoms, rippling in the small pond. the sound is soothing, and it’s almost like the drips onto grizz’s shoulders are hands rubbing out the tension. his tears from not long before begin to mix in with the streams of rainwater down his face as they pick back up at the utter peace of the moment. he hasn’t had time to actually relax yet, and as a spirit there were obstacles in his way of experiencing the world: one, his visits to the mortal realm were only able to be for about an hour or two at a time, and two, he was literally dead. everything passed through him, or he passed through it. he couldn’t sit and let the rain fall on him or take a dip in a pond or feel the leaves of trees, but he can now, and it’s such an odd sensation to be alive again.
because in this moment, this is the most truly alive grizz has ever felt.
a soft roll of thunder sounds in the distance, and it’s like it rolls through grizz’s chest. tears roll down his face as the warm rain soaks his clothes. he looks down at the poppy he’d placed over his heart, biting gently on his lip. raindrops roll off of it almost as quickly as they plop onto it. he places that hand it’s wrapped around down on the ground where he’d plucked it from, taking a deep breath as—
“fuck, there you are!”
the branches behind grizz rustle as he whips around, gaze catching on a familiar blue hoodie and dark sunglasses, the latter item now perched on the sopping wet curls of one god of life.
“i’ve been lookin’ for you, man,” bizly says as he steps into the small area. it’s just big enough that they could probably fit only one or two more people in here. “thought you wanted to flood the place— hey, are you okay?”
grizz wipes his face. “yeah, yeah, just....this is nice.”
“this spot? fuckin’ beautiful, that’s for sure.” bizly reaches up and runs his fingers against a cherry petal, it tumbling off into the palm of his hand.
“not just that....” grizz trails off, pushing himself to stand. “anyways, what’s up? condi need us, or....?”
“not just that, and what?” bizly rolls a hand, motioning for grizz to continue. “don’t just leave me hangin’ here.”
grizz sighs softly. “you wouldn’t get it—”
“okay, yeah, maybe, but grizz.” bizly’s expression is pleading. “talk to me. you did earlier, what’s stopping you now?”
“it’s not that i don’t want to talk about it, it’s that, again, you wouldn’t get it—”
“griizzlyy....” bizly practically whines, running a hand down his own face. “dude! i don’t have to get it! you can just tell me and i’ll listen! i’m sorry if i sound like a dick right now, but just....” he groans. “fuck, man, talk to me!”
grizz blinks, stunned. “are you okay?”
bizly takes a deep breath, smoothing his hair back. “yes. i am fine. just talk to me.”
the rain patters around the two of them, a gentle backing track to the moment. grizz pushes wet hair out of his face as he heaves a sigh. that white streak is stark against the darkening brown strands even in his peripheral vision.
grizz’s gaze shifts to the bright green grass in front of him. “all it is, bizly, is that i died.”
“wh—”
“i died, and i never got to experience a world like this. one i didn’t warp and constantly control the natural parts of.” grizz looks up, a smile ghosting his lips. “this is the first time i’ve seen any of this. anything in nature that wasn’t made by me.” he spreads his arms out, tilting his head back to face the makeshift roof. “this is the first time i’ve ever truly felt alive.” he turns his line of sight back to bizly, whose face is painted with almost shock.
“y....wow.” bizly runs his hands through his hair again, exhaling almost dramatically
“are you fucking good, man?” grizz lets his arms fall back to his sides, crossing them not long after with a raised eyebrow.
bizly’s posture relaxes, mouth spreading into a faint but genuine smile. “i’m fine, i just have a lot of pent-up energy.” he grins wider, shaking his hair like a dog drying its coat. grizz bursts into genuine laughter at this, wiping the misty droplets that hit his own face. bizly’s glasses nearly go flying into the small pond off of his head, but they skid to a stop just at the edge of the waterline. one bold fish swims up to them, seeming to simply look at the dark lenses for a few seconds before swimming away, its teal colouring vanishing into the depths.
“wanna go burn it?” grizz’s own smile melds into one of mischief.
bizly raises his eyebrows, smirking. “can you fly in the rain?”
“let’s find out.”
grizz begins to run out of the secret garden, grabbing bizly’s soaked sleeve and tugging him out as well. the two rush off, laughter filling the air between the two of them, jokes and words flitting through the air like petals off a cherry tree.
