With God of war ragnarok out on PC it's time for me to say hello to new friends.

I'm in my twenties looking for god of war Rp partners. I can do Kratos/Omc or Atreus/Omc. I just love Kratos and Atreus's dynamic. I can play either character. It's sweet, supportive, and cathartic. I will also fully confess that I also play with Kratos/Atreus because sometimes hugging your dad just isn't enough.

I'm looking for something plot oriented, though it could be more domestic, like rebuilding the nine realms or emotionally introspective like a vallhalla AU. Sexual content 🍪 is an option we can discuss privately.

I usually organize private discord servers but I am open to other methods. My style is descriptive and third person. Don't worry too much. I'll meet you where you are.

What I ask of you is know what you want. I want to make sure we both get enjoyment out of working together and for that it's important to know what I can do for you.

Full disclosure, I did not play RO on any official server (didn't have a credit card), it was on private servers, typically free and with the rates cranked up to the 100s, but it was fun for what it was and one of the safer ways to interact with others online.

I kind of miss those kinds of "simple" MMO experiences where you hop in with friends to get torn apart by monsters since the accelerated level ups meant you didn't get intended progression, and of course the natural hubris that comes with a lack of patience from "I just want to get that class with the silly outfit".

There's also the evergreen punchline of an MVP spawning on the map with their murder parade exploding everyone.

As for classes I usually played and what I recall of them:

Professor Scholar; with the stats as they were on private servers I could build a magic machine gun character. There was also a hat or a card that let me use a low level heal which was good for effectively having infinite SP.

Biochemist; usually tossing potions, but mostly so I could have a pet minion, I would reroll my homunculus for a Lif or Vanilmirth

And maybe some dabbles in Assassin Cross or Sniper, I don't recall.

As of this post I've also learned they now have 3rd and 4th level classes and probably new additional maps and monsters. I'm curious enough to take a peek with a private server* and will maybe even go on a nostalgia visit/binge in Feb, who knows.

*While official servers exist, they require outdated amounts of grinding and have assumed the new/current predatory methods of online services

If anyone just so happens to know of and want to recommend a private server to me, please share it. Alternatively, share your own RO experience if you have any 8)

you don't regularly play mmos, but what's the most fun you've had in one?

Pretty much any time me and @golbette have spent a few evenings dicking around in whichever mmo strikes the mood that week. Lord of the Rings online was a ton of fun while we were into it, we went grinding while shooting the shit about stuff in a Ragnarok server a few times, that one time we and the rest of the girls went dicking around in a dark age of camelot private server, etc. One of these days i keep meaning to get the girls to do something like that again. Might be fun.

Aside from that? Just making characters in City of Heroes is a ton of fun. That game rules. Shame it's dead and it's impossible to play through a private server.

God of War: Ragnarok. I would go through the plot as much as I can since I don't know a lot about it.

I don't have a PS5, however, and I'm kinda iffy that you need to have a PSN account to play it on Steam. It sounded to me as though Sony didn't learn their lesson from the Helldivers 2 debacle.

1: Do you try to stay away from walkthroughs?

I usually do my best to not look up solutions online because they often spoil the fun (and also a bit of plot) of uncovering a mystery on your own, but I will look them up as a last resort.

5: A popular series/game you just can't get into no matter how much you try?

One game on top of my mind is Disco Elysium. A lot of people praise it highly for its deep writing, and I usually love playing games with those. However, I get overwhelmed by a lot of information, and my perfectionist mindset means that it kinda irks me when I fail a skill check. On the bright side, the failures are sometimes more hilarious than the successful outcomes, and you can still find alternate paths to progress the quests.

Maybe I will get back into it one day and not worry about trying to 100% everything on the first go, but who knows?

11: Hardest game you've played?

Might be controversial, but it's Elden Ring. Maybe I'm not used to the tried-and-true From Software's Souls games formula, but it's part of why I have not gone back to playing it.

19: Which game do you think deserves a revival?

Wildstar. It's a science fantasy MMORPG with an incredibly creative and interesting setting. I started playing it when it was going F2P, even if I was suffering from immense lag and the difference in timezones means that everyone else I'm playing with is preparing to go to sleep soon. It got shut down on November 28th 2018 due to a host of issues, one of which being too much catering to hardcore MMO players, I heard.

I know that some ex-Wildstar devs have gone on to develop other games, some of which have stylized graphic similar to Wildstar. If Wildstar was to somehow get revived, I'd rather have it be a tight single-player (or maybe a small-scale multiplayer) experience with a plot where both the Dominion and the Exiles eventually put aside their differences to broker peace and fight a bigger threat. I can see the theme of the cost and futility of a prolonged war being discussed among others.

However, with NCSoft holding the rights hostage to presumably please shareholders, it seems unlikely. I also hope that the people who hosts the Wildstar private servers don't suddenly get a cease-and-desist.

28: Which character's clothes do you wish you owned the most?

The black variant of the Modern Coat from Ghostwire: Tokyo. I want some techwear in my wardrobe and this one looks rad. Also, the fingerless glove in the picture as well.
