There was a groan of misery from the old monkey as he peeked out from where he laid face-down on the couch — it had been another long night for him. One would think he'd be use to the pounding in his head or the drumming in his ears after such a night, but alas he was not. Even after all this time.

A blessing to have such a sweet granddaughter, one he was sure he did not deserve after everything. She deserved better than his old ass. With some effort, he managed to roll himself over and sit up — sighing out as if he just completed a herculean task. His gaze falling upon Xiaomin, in her outstretched hands an offering of ice cold water for him.

"You're too kind to this ol' mess — "

" — thank you, sweetie."

Taking a short swig, the pleasant chill hitting his mouth. It brought such a relief to him in the moment — all thanks to his sweet child. He could never repay her enough for staying when she had every right to leave.

“Urameshi-chan, thank you soo much for visiting us again.” An older homeless man spoke out after receiving his boxed meal and walking away rather happily.

“Don’t worry bout it gramps, might not show up every night but when I do, I bring the good stuff you guys love.” Yusuke spoke with a smirk on his face as more homeless people approached him wanting a boxed meal as well. This was something Yusuke often did after shifts where the nights were just slightly slower than usual. He would visit the homeless park with his truck and share out his leftovers for free, if he’s lucky he manages to feed at least fourty people. Granted, the sight of a new face causes his brow to raise. “Huh, don’t mind me fr sayin’ this princess but you’re lookin’ a little too clean t’ be homeless. Though if you’re still hungry guess I can give ya a meal..how’d you feel about shrimp fried rice?”

MK usually talks in code when discussing the "good stuff" in question. It's not anything illegal in the usual sense, but he and the rest of his group were of the opinion that the wealthy class had waaay too much of the stuff and they should redistribute the wealth behind closed doors.

Doing it under the guise of being a food delivery service was the most ingenious thing they could have thought of, hence the speaking in code MK is doing.

scraped knees, silent tears in a locked room,  slamming doors,  pervasive loneliness,  a dog barking, rain on a metal roof,  flinching at movement,  the creak of an old house,  forced laughter,  wandering in the dark woods,  wondering how you made it through,  sudden loss,  trying to make sense of the noise,  hiding what you love to protect it,  trying to explain but your words falter,  invaded privacy,  confusion at the pain,  running barefoot in the grass,  wondering what you did wrong and coming up with nothing,  realizing you aren’t a priority,   grass stains on white clothing,  trying to earn love you will never have,  being threatened over the smallest mistake,  secrets you are warned not to share,  the feeling of never being good enough,  the hope things might someday get better,  grief that aches in your bones,  childish dares and pranks,  the sense that your body isn’t yours,  shame and guilt that aren’t yours to carry,  sledding down a frozen hill,  absentmindedly following snakes through the grass,  punching a tree until your knuckles bleed,  tears over every dead creature you find,  searching out small places you can hide… just in case,  climbing the tallest tree so they can’t touch you,  the feeling of something tainted under your skin,  a curious child told to stop asking,  floral dresses,  body tensing at approaching footsteps,  anger with nowhere to go,  brief escapes from the chaos,  the purr of a contented cat,  taking the blame to keep the peace,  being told you’re too sensitive,  the creaking springs of a trampoline on a sunny day

The street vendor who had so kindly made such a delicious treat didn't even seem to see Sonson, nor did he care when Robin shouted into the air. The villagers were too busy having their usual winter festival, playing games and buying hot food.

Yes, the skewers were definitely cheap, good value ones, easy to replace, but... There was some integrity here about stealing!

Making sure nobody was really watching, the wolf bared her teeth up at the hybrid girl, her canines elongating into sharp white fangs. Blue eyes flashed, nose wrinkling.

"You have five seconds before I drag you down here. Either you give it back or you pay for a new one, kid!"

The irony is Yusuke remembered reading about the monkey being able to ride a cloud and that anyone could ride it as long as they had a pure heart. To hear that the stories were all bullshit SHE started because she was just stingy as hell made him wonder. That would mean he could take a ride on that cloud himself…man shooting demons with the spirit gun from above there seemed like nothing but fun. Now Yusuke WAS doing some work in his garden, planting seeds and watering them when she happened to have shown up.

Both his feet braces against the ground allowing him to make a large leap into the air, flipping forwards just once as his two feet were planted against the cloud’s '𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙚'. “Whoa..” Yusuke almost slipped off as his mind had been SKEPTICAL of what she said at first, ready to actually crash through the cloud but quickly he regained his balance and stood still.

“HUH..you’re right..feels like solid ground. HA, what’d you know? Now Yusuke crouches and looks at her. “Mind tellin’ this thing t’ move it? There’s an adventure waitin’ to happen.”
