Okay, I don't know what's going on with Tumblr and everything has been absolute chaos with my life the past few months, so y'know what, screw it. I think I'm actually brave enough to share some of my art. At least it won't just be sitting on my tablet that way.

This is my Sith Inquisitor turned Force-sensitive Outcast from SWTOR, Roodaka Greatstorm-Kallig. I haven't really plotted everything out with her regarding her story, but she's not my Outlander. She leaves the Empire right after Ziost, after losing all of the family she'd used her Dark Council connections to find and save from slavery, and Lana recruits her to help Sana-Rae run the Enclave about two years before the Outlander (my Knight Aja Verdona) is rescued. She's prickly and petty and spiteful but I love her dearly. And because I've never posted art before, art process and a little bit of character lore ramble under the cut, I guess?

I usually work with lined art/sketches that are admittedly very messy, but when I did the first one back in May I was experimenting with actually rendering/painting, and I saw a fashion post thing that looked like something Roo would wear, so I was mostly just playing around, it's not a solid outfit design for her. It's janky and wonky and oh Lord please don't look closely at the anatomy or face it is not up to my usual standards, but I was so proud of myself for the lighting on this one, as well as how I managed to render the muscle. Like, the lighting! I have no idea what I'm doing but I think it looks so flipping good! And I was happy with how the crackly lightsaber blade turned out—it is supposed to be Aloysius Kallig's lightsaber, meaning it's at least over a thousand years old, right? It should be a little janky with age!

The second one is supposed to be post Fallen Empire, after she's left the Sith and become sort of a wandering Force-user—think Ahsoka as of, well... Ahsoka, but more on the side of Ventress if she'd survived TCW (don't get me started on that choice 🙄🙄🙄). I came into it knowing a little more of what I was doing, but I kinda got in over my head and gave up on the 100% lineless thing, you can definitely tell with the sword/clothes. 🥴 The second piece has been sitting unfinished in my WIP folder for months, so I just said screw it, finished up some details and called it because I am SO PROUD of her face and hands (I DREW A GOOD HAND WITHOUT LINEART WHO AM I?!?!) and how I rendered her skin, I don't want it to live in WIP purgatory forever. You can actually tell that's muscle! And a neck!

I'm proud of how her tattoos turned out, too. I played around with Cham Syndulla's tattoo pattern, turning it at different angles. It felt like a good way to root her in Twi'lek culture despite the Kallig bloodline having been separated from it for so long. She gets the first one to cover up a slave tattoo, and the rest after Ziost to further reclaim her identity and culture, leaving the Sith behind.

Originally a member of the Oronir tribe, she runs away to prove herself, and ends up working with the Scions of the Seventh Dawn until she (and Yesuntei) win the Naadam for the Mol, and she marries Sadu (and Cirina and Yesuntei).

Race: Galdjent

Primary role: Warrior of Light of the First/Thirteenth (AU dependent)

Fraegeim is one of the fourteen disparate shards that Helios became after the Sundering, but her world of origin varies by AU. While she is always a shard of Corrain, and thus shares many personality traits with him- such as a love of mischief and laughter, a too-quick temper, and a childlike awe for the world in which she lives - whether or not she hails from the First or Thirteenth varies based on whether or not the AU is shared with Lelesu or Seleukos, mentioned above. When it is shared- she is Corrain's matching shard from the First (as Ardbert is Lelesu's matching shard). When he is the only WoL, she hails from the Thirteenth, and was slain much like Golbez was, after succumbing to Darkness.

nonexhaustive list of some bullshit kotfet moments that @visionmarred, @consulaaris, and I collectively dealt with today:

- deaths. so many deaths.

- the spire chapter not letting sierra into the phase when I summoned hoping for proper heals on the final fight, forcing me to have to push through it in master mode with the looming stress of the server maintenance timer, until I got through with a minute to spare

- kotet switching rae back and forth between story and vet mode at its own whim

- sierra discovering their jedi’s lightsaber makes noises genuinely like how one would imagine dinosaur screams when unsheathed so I summoned them into the mando chapter just to hear it

- rae also getting #thercann AKA the cursed morph of arcann with a certain spy boy’s mohawk and jacket in a cutscene when theron wasn’t even there

- the poisonous gas in the gravestone persisting past death and using the consoles until I went to a stronghold and returned and then got skipped through that entire segment

- summoning both sierra and rae into the gemini chapter for funsies only for rae’s toon to spawn beneath the floor

- gemini glitching out because we annihilated her in <30s and still doing her red circles with the cutscene icon hovering over her head

- my jedi boy getting knocked on his ass in the hallway by a random explosion

- rae and I yeeting both of our jedi down a fire pit in the middle of our path and instantly dying at the same time

- ramming all of our heads against the final arcann fight to remember the mechanics without thinking to look it up, discovering that we could continuously respawn after a solid minute of sierra’s commando healer running circles around the room alone, sierra and rae repeatedly dying and respawning to help while I fought to walk the shield at the last <10% of arcann’s health

- and yet somehow I finished mm kotfe and rae finished kotet for the first time tonight despite all of the feral and unhinged energy

Broke the toughest blockade in galactic history? Republic’s greatest outlaw hero, basically.” next is a red skinned voss with blue compact eyes and a narrow face. she introduces herself “Your visage surfaced in my trials. I am the Mystic Sana-Rae. the alliance introducing themselves. i still wish if the ywere bringing back someone from makeb, it would be lemda instead of oggurobb. i mean i’m neutral to oggurobb, but i like lemda so...

also she’s a scientist too, so she could still be... doing sciency things whatever it is he does for the alliance. let’s not pretend swtor has very realistic jobs for whatever scientists actually do.

SWTOR 6.3.2 content update:

(it’s 3 days old, don’t think I need a spoiler alert?)

Very pleased to see Theron take over half of the debriefing on the Pub side. I’m sick of the devs ignoring him just because the idiotic kill option back in Nathema.

Not pleased that Theron has no spoken lines on the Imp side, especially when it’s my Agent who’s romanced him.

Sana-Rae has more active role in Force related things and the suggestion of sending Arcann are good calls. I always have issues with how the writers basically used a magic ritual to “redeem” Arcann as if he’s under some mind control spell and basically glossed over all the responsibilities and consequences of his past atrocities. That’s just lazy writing. At least we get to see how the Alliance and Arcann are both trying to find their footings here.

The whole Mandalorian civil war is frankly dragging a bit long. Unless it will become a huge part in the whole 7.0 expansion, which should be about the mysterious Sith Darth Nul (now novel the name is lol), I wish the writers could end it soon.

Speaking of Darth Nul. It is potentially interesting that the Dantooine Jedi use a Sith relic to brainwash Revan. I doubt they’ll dip in something deep. Hope it won’t be another case of “tHe JiDI aRE eVIL lOok hOW eDGY i aM As A wRItER” that many “modern” writers think that counts as “good writing”.

Also, I’m so sorry, I have been through a lost of my graphic tablet (and on other thing it was complicated to do other things rather than sketch, and as I wanted to have a good drawing, I cannot do it on that), a hard depression (who keep me drawing for a lot of month, except one or two, and then to fully get back on the.. seat... it have been long as well. I keep stopping drawing for a lot of weeks, but I’m globally feeling better and back on wanting to draw again so)... anyway, there is no excuses. But I have to work on Rae and a viewer comm and then I should be able to FINALY work on the other reward for my  giveaway!! It have been one year... Sorry, it have been long and unacceptable, but I have gone through so many things... 4. are there any class combat styles you love, but can’t deal with on the mirrored version?

both scoundrel and marauder were this for me for a bit (funny since my Impside main’s a medicine operative and Pubside main’s a concentration sentinel), but I warmed up to them after a bit sdkgdk. I’m enjoying hatred assassin so far, but I was never very great at serenity shadow when that was Lunakalla’s spec, but I’m also pretty sure that might have more to do with me not being the greatest player back in the day and not really comprehending the DoT aspect of serenity.

6. are there any disciplines you haven’t ever tried? which ones?

pretty much everything vanguard and powertech. like yes the og version of Noct was a powertech, and once upon a time I had a vanguard for like five minutes, but it’s been so long since I’ve played either that it might as well be brand new to me.

11/20: I ship you with Sana Rae!

There’s no shame in investing as much in defense as offense, especially against a cunning foe such as the Empire - you know that better than anyone. As an officer of the Republic Army, you are invested in guarding and organising the defense of any outpost, building, or even city you’re assigned. You make excellent strategies, even if you have to work together with the SIS from time to time to make your elaborate plans reality. In the past, this job was mostly for satisfying your need of adrenaline - it served a noble purpose, of course, protecting the innocent Republic citizens from an evil you despised. But you only gained a true purpose after the Eternal Empire rose to power. Until then, you were fighting for yourself. Now, you’re fighting for others.

Fuelled by the losses the Republic suffered at the hands of Zakuul, you sign up to serve in the ranks of the Alliance as soon as possible. You’re there helping when Odessen is built, and it pretty much becomes your child as you’re assigned to organising the base’s defenses. You’re not happy when the Force Enclave grows in number, lead by a strange alien about whom you heard only malignant whispers. Sana Rae rubs you the wrong way, so you make sure never to talk to her. Yet she seems to be everywhere, always so damn peaceful, so one day you confront her about it. Her words strike you to your core when she tells you she had a vision about you long ago, and how you will be the saviour of just one, but also of billions at the same time. A week later you end up saving none other than the Commander of the Alliance, thus saving the fate of the Galaxy too in the end (not that you know it at that very instant). After the Alliance wins, you find yourself in the Force Enclave, blurting out an apology to Sana Rae that feels long overdue. She is calm about it, forgiving, welcoming. She invites you to stay, and brings you as close to the Force as a non-Force sensitive can possibly be. Her way of seeing things, her quiet confidence and her honesty snare your heart pretty soon after, and you show her you care through small acts - more guards posted at the Force Enclave, better security systems installed on the sections leading to the meditation rooms and the training centres. She thanks you by teaching you things, slowing you down a little, making you appreciate the little things in life. Your relationship is insanely well-balanced and deep, and thanks to the bond you two share, Odessen has never been more protected. Sana Rae isn’t a big fan of physical affection - she much prefers your honesty and thoughts, your kindness and devotion. Whenever she has a vision, she discusses it with you first, and she never fails to mention that were you born a Voss, you would have made an excellent interpreter. The level of respect and honesty between you is enough to make anyone jealous of what you two share.

"Well I didn't name her."

"You could use her middle name, Jae."

"I... I guess so. That's kinda weird tho? Does she go by her middle name in cutscenes or something?"

"Actually it's kind of a mix. Half the time she goes by Junior, because her mom has the exact same name... a lot of time that gets shortened into initials like R. J. J. for Rae Jae Junior... and then sometimes she just gets called by her last name."

"Well that's reasonable if she's, like, Intel or military. What's her last name?"

"Johnson."

"Johnson?! In Star Wars? That's ridiculous, I'm not using that."

"Well look, you don't have to call her Johnson. Now you can call her Rae, or you can call her Jae. Or you can call her R.J., or you can call her R.J.J. But you don't have to call her Johnson!"

Rain Plays STWOR: Favorite Deco Achievements

 If you are interested in following my SWTOR gamplay it’s on the #Rain Plays SWTOR tag!

One of the things I like most about SWTOR is decorating my strongholds. I thus really love it when decorations are rewarded for in-game play.   All of the SWTOR guides, like Dulfy, can explain how to get these achievements, so I'm just going to share my favorites. There are some other activities where really cool decorations drop, but I am going to concentrate on the achievements where specific rewards are always granted when you meet the requirements.   Various Planets (Alderaan, Hoth, Voss): Who's Scruffy Looking?   In addition to three adorable nerf calves and the hilarious Nerf Herder title, if you finish this achievement you get ten copies of this cute nerf portrait to display in your stronghold.

Veteran Star Fortresses: An End to the Exarchs; All for One   You really clean up if you can complete all six of the veteran Star Fortresses. In addition to the six companions, you receive ten of these giant Sun Reactors (An End to the Exarchs). You also get 999 decos for each of the specialists over influence level 10, for whom you used/found their equipment caches All for One). There's a Force focus for Sana-Rae, a medical probe for Oggurobb, a grenade canister for Hylo and a turret for Aygo. I really like the medical probe because you can position it to "treat" your stronghold's patients.

Ziost: Dead On   If you complete all three side missions around the People's Tower (I Want to Fly Fast, Shut them Down, Time to Move) you get 999 of these plant decos. These are really poignant considering what happens on Ziost.   This one can be problematic, at least in my experience, because the mission Time to Move sometimes does not trigger and does not credit you for rescuing the civilians even when you do.

Dantooine: Well that Was Unexpected   The simplest deco achievement ever: go to Dantooine. Jump into the well so your character dies. Ta-da! You'll get 999 of these crumbling Dantooine walls. They're filled with a small amount of water. 

  Dantooine: Dantooinian Culinarian

Trek around Dantooine, sample food and drink (some of which may make your character feel a bit off) and earn these Tall Fruit Plants. Word on the street is that some of the food can only be located when the Pirate Incursion event is not running. It's probably one of those achievements that is best to attempt when the planet is empty. It took me several tries to get all the food items. 

  Ossus: Dawn of the Exiled Knight

Find Don the Exiled Knight's numerous journals around Ossus, and then track down Don himself. He'll join you in your stronghold. 

  Ossus: Resolution of Ossus   Complete the Daily Patrol (5 daily missions) 90 times (doesn't have to be on the same character, I'm sure mine was not!) for these cool Ossus beast skulls and beautiful Orrey Table.

New SWTOR Game - Pick a Companion...

I want to start a little 'head-canon' game.

Pick one of your SWTOR OCs. Doesn't matter who, they just need to be at Outlander level during or post KOTFE/KOTET.

Now choose a companion you've recruited who was a class companion, but NOT of the class of the Outlander you picked. (So the Trooper could pick Vette, or the Agent could pick Jorgen, etc.)

Now reflect on how your dynamic with your OC and the companion differs from that you had when you played the companion's classic class. Were you surprised at how much you appreciate the companion, even if their screen time is brief? Did it make you think about the companion differently, or did how the OC treat the companion inform on their character?

I'll start: My Jedi Knight, Corellan Halcyon, and everyone's favorite Mon Calamari conman, Languss "Guss" Tuno!

Corellan feels a deep compassion and even empathy for 'ol Guss. See, up until Corellan was about six or seven, he was considered a rather dissapointing youngling, and unlikely to advance to Padawan. He struggled in all of his lessons, lagging behind the other students at the Enclave. He couldn't so much as move a pebble with his mind, and he was in danger of washing out of training altogether. All the wisdom and teachings of his Masters proved unhelpful, and later he would reazile that it was the same stuff they tried to tell Guss.

Turns out he was just a late-comer. Once they handed him a training saber, the Force just seemed to surge within him. He flew up the ranks after that, and the rest is history.

So when he meets this Mon Calamari who seems to try so hard to be a Jedi only to come up short, he feels like he's seeing a version of himself where it never came together.

By contrast, when I played smuggler the first time, he kept him around only because he was a vaguely capable grifter and he was good for comic relief.  

Corellan, fortunately, has placed Guss under the tutelage of Sana Rae. He may never be a great Force-using warrior, but he may eventually find peace with himself.
