Why I don't like the Ariel Live Action and my thought on this topic
disclaimer 1 : please, I'm french, I'm sorry in advance for any wrong sentences etc. I will do my best but I'm not perfect.
disclaimer 2 : I'm new on this app, so I don't know all the functionnalities, how to do this or that, I will try my best to make a descent and pleasant visual post. I know there is differents ways to respond, we can ask I think ? like publishing a post on the profile on someone (that's it right?), there is the republished and adding your own post and the comment section. Prologue :
I know I will receive pretty much all the hates of the world for this but, I'm autistic and Ariel was and is my very first special interest, so I don't care.
I will say/write what has to be written because I'm so sick of the misunformation about her.
I hate any misinformation at all cause I'm autistic but it's so much worst when it's about one of my s.i and unfortunatelly for me, the ones I have are very specific and the society and the patriarchy built a HUGE LIE and basically, any historical information about matriarchy/mythology/patriachy are just misunformation. But there is just too much that I can't correct everyone, everything, because I don't have the energy and because it caused me so much stress that I have a meltdown everytime. So I'm already used to the tense, so I think I will survive the hate about this post.
The real subject of the post :
The Live-Action of The Little Mermaid is at the same time good ? and the absolute worst !!!
Disclaimers : I'm not a fan of Live-Action, it's not specific to The Little Mermaid.
My pov on it is :
Either make the most realistic and exact same as the animation movies, or GO CREATIVE and create something new, a story about someone in the same universe, a prequel, anything. Like Cruella for exemple (I admid I didn't watched it), or Maleficient (I watched it don't worry and loved it) ! It works perfectly, and because it's in a total different universe but based on the same fairytale, you can create anything and it doesn't have to follow the animation movie. It's not an adaptation but more like an extra movie about this universe that you loved ! Or like Mulan (plus it corrected something that was culturally disrespectful : Mushu). I think I love them only if there are creative and create something new.
And here is why :
As an autistic person, I HATE the change, so if it must be an adaptation that I've read/seen, IT MUST be perfect and there MUST BE NOT CHANGE AT ALL otherwise IT RUINS AND DESTROYED WHAT I LOVED AND I END UP HEARTBROKEN. Truly, I had to go to therapy to deal with it and to morn all the differents possibilities of the adaptation that could be the MOST accurate to the animation movie. I waited more than twenty five years to see it and it was a disaster. Too close to be complety hated but too different to be accepted and loved.
In the differents possibilities of an live action of The Little Mermaid, I also imagined some that were about the second or third animation movie. Or about the show.
I bet no one knew (except the ones that have Disney + now), that there was a show about her adventures.
In this one for exemple, she had a mute great friend, Gabriella ! And I LOVED HER SOOOO MUCH !!! She speak with her hands (signing) and her friend an octopus, Olie, translate with his voice. He's sooo cute ! When they go swimming he hang himself on her tail, like if he was riding Gabriella. This is so cute ! I felt so seen, first because I wasn't always verbal as a kid.
And for other kids that weren't pale like me, she was very tan with absolutely wonderful almond green eyes and a bob haircut with browns/dark blond hair. (I think it showing that I had a crush on her and ship them so much lol)
And because when she saw Ariel for the first time, it felt (for me) like she had love at first sight (I knew very young that I loved only girls). Honestly, their story is more a love story to me than a friendship, but it's obviously subjectiv.
Ariel also adopted (secretly) a lost baby killer whale, Spot, a specific
under species of those that only lived in arctic or antarctic.
Killer whale are my most favorite sea animals with seals (I know they don't get along together).
Representations :
I always identitified myself with Ariel because she was a redhead and so had a pale skin. Even if when I was very young my hair where short and almost dark auburn, I could relate with Blanche Neige as I was pretty similar to her but the animation movie scared me so much that I still have nightmares of those sometimes. My hair turned even more light auburn / redhead when I started my puberty and they became slowly but definitely curly/wavy, and then I related even more to Ariel.
And I'm so glad I had her as a model because it's when the bullying, harrassment, assault, s.assault, pushed to unalive myself because in their countries (maghreb) I would I been tortured, raped, burnd alive etc. And every day they (a bunch of boys) come to tell me that I should be dead and were surprised that I didn't killed myself yet. So many times per days, every days, for four long years.
In younger classes, my bff (a girl) was from morroco, and neither her or her mother ever told me things like this. Neither any other girls or women in my whole life from those countries. Only boys and men. So it's not about the people where they were from, but the boys and men and the misogyny from where they were from.
So the fact that Ariel (and Blanche Neige too but they choose an afro descendant to represent a very pale character, we have absolutely no representation, they are all erased or replaced) must be pale was a VERY HUGE expectation for me, cause it was litteraly what partielly saved me. I however did some of the things they told me to do (atttempt in a very specific ways, I did it at the same date evey year, waiting for Death to come get me).
So in my mind castle of the possibilities, there was an adaptation of Ariel as pale redhead with her girlfriend/bff that is deaf and not "white", with her own story. And that could had been absolutely perfect ! Because they didn't had to imagine one, she already existed! (And that would have been quite an argument for the "gnagnagna woke, inclusivity bs gnagnagna".)
Girls and women deserve representation, but come on, the bare is in hell ! We deserve good representation. As a little girl I was far from looking like Pocahontas but I still related to her, because what we saw as kid is not JUST how she look likes (this is so misogynistic that we only exist and have physical characteristics) but also about what they love, what they does, what they stand for etc.
I BET every little girl that has ever seen the little mermaid identified as her when we were at the beach and damn even more if they were a rock where we could sit and do the thing with the wave ! Or when suddenly the wind makes our hair dancing and in our head we look like Pocahontas ! (But you know there is the expectation Vs reality 😂)
Physical representation matters, but saying that, it's the only things for girls to rely on is bullshit and misogynistic.
Why erasing the redhead pale mermaid when it already existed a brown skin mermaid and have both which is even better for the representation in the franchise of the little mermaid ?
Even thoug, signing girls were already kinda represented with Ariel who is a mermaid (as her human form), who is loved, accepted and have fun even if she doesn't speak. But then, there is Gabriella and she just not speak but she signs with the real signing langage ! That's amazing !
They could have done a wonderfull job and created an adaptation where there was two amazing mermaids a pale one (not a white one) and a brown one. Who instead of being in competition could have been friends and shows and learns sorority, or even for once love between two girls or here two mermaids. That would have been amazing ! I would have loved so much to have this and I'm sure little girls (whatever their skin color would have loved it too !)
Growing up I would have loved to know that there weren't anything wrong with me for loving girls and not boys like in absolutely every single movies or animation movies.
We were kissing each other in secrets, deeply convinced that we were doing something wrong, bad, and we did it in secret full of shame because we knew it was forbidden. There wasn't a rule written with it was is ok and was it not, it's more uncunscious. But at 4 y/o we already knew and felt that it was not ok, and still at 13.
I only learn that they were people that love the same sex that their own, in teenagehood, not because there was a lesson about the three differents sexuality (heterosexual, bisexuel, homosexual). No I learned it with all the slurs on all the ones that coudn't hide their sexuality and they all were bullied. It's only around my majority when I was 17 y/o that I knew it wasn't something wrong.
I was accepted in a big group of friends, we were so different from each others, with so many background, but goddess I LOVED THEM SO MUCH ! They helped me setting the things rights, like REALLY. I had no bar, no bounderies, nothing. I grew up with an incestuous big brother (it started when I was 3), violence within all my family (except my dad and step mum), and school harassment since I'm 3 until 22 y/o. No friends or rarely. Or fake ones. Until this group. They teached me that differences is fun, we can learn from each other, they were curious, everyone was curious to understand the pov of everyone even if we thought the opposite. I was so sexually abused in my life that I coudn't bare being in anything that could reveal my skin, my shape. I was soooo prude. Because my brains associated nudity with bad things. But thoses guys (we were mixte) teached me that our body exist to allow us to experiment life. They help me heal from eating disorder, bodydismorphia, shame, and so many other things. We could ALL be naked sitting comfortablelly and not good looking, with rolls, saggy boobs, het, bi, or homo, everything was fine. (Disclaimers, we were drunk when we were naked, drinking red wine, with flower or tree crowns philosophising on life etc. That was so cool and nothing was sexual. Except with one guy who did and tried to sa every girls that came in the groups, he was punched a multiples times by the others mates but not excluded sadly). And within this group they were lesbians and bisexuals persons, a couple of male bff where saying there were married to each other and kissing and every thing was fine and so funny. This was when I learned that it was ok for me to be lesbian. But for fifteen years I hated myself for being like this. Like if there wasn't enough things wrong about me there was this too on the list. It was such a relief ! I even tried to unalive myself because of this guilt.
So yes, I think we definitely should have something for the girls to let them know that it's ok. There is nothing wrong with them.
Resume of all the fact that indicated that Ariel lived in the north of the Atlantica, North of the Europe and not in the Caribbean :
Spot, the Killer Whale
Ariel meeting Great White Shark (living in cold water)
Ariel meeting Hans Christian Andersen who live in Denmark
The Kingdom of Atlantica is near the Groenland
Melody swam quickly to the Groenland, which is in the territory of the Denmark
So it makes absolutely no sense to say it actually happens in the gulf of guinea, in south africa (except for the shark and the killer whale part) or in Caribbean.
BUT !
If the goal was to have only afro descendant community in the representation, I WOULD HAVE LOOOOOOOOVED not to see a Dannish fairytale as representation.
And it blows my mind that it doesn't seemed to occur or bother any usa black afrocentrist. Like ???? This is si insulting ! They all say 'anything that is not black or brown is a coloniser' but they don't seemed to have any problem with having a fairytale that is from a country that colonized (and still doing it 👀) a lot of country in different continents including Africa to represent the afro culture ?! 🤡
You said you want to represetant "YOUR" culture, but obviously you have no idea of what culture you're talking about. You think continent and country is the same, so you think that european has no culture and at the same time you said "european culture". You talk about african culture. Asian culture. But None of them exist. You think Africa is Egypt, maybe South Africa and that's it. Asia is only Japan and China. No. And you have absolutely zero knowledge about not just geography but history too.
Denmark was one of the coloniser country of the African Continent (in case you didn't know). So no I wouldn't choose I dannish fairytale to represent the people from Africa or afro descendant no.
Mermaids are a wordwilde story because it descent and came from Matriarchy. And before Patriarchy, the whole world was Matriarchal. So you can found myths and tales about them in every culture that exists in the world.
So for an afro representation there would had been a lot of choice !
I want to hear everything about the tales of Oshun, Mami Wata, Yoruba and all of the others all over the world ! But I bet you have no idea of who they were and are.

I think I'm good. I mean, I think I'm done writing my thought about the Ariel Live Action and all the topics that were brings along it and were causing a lot of "scandale". No, wait, I forgot the word? Debate ? Idk.
Please, feel free to share with me your thought on it ! What's that makes you think ? What part are you agreeing, or not agreeing ! And please, explain to me why (agreeing and not, both). I might not get it bc we don't share the same shoes and as autistic I don't always "catch" it.

Why can't we just love eachother and help eachother and cry for eachother when we hurt and laugh for eachother when we're happy. What happened to radical acceptance and beauty. Why are we self-separating using white suppremist ideas about identity. The idea someone needs some pure property to be worthy of adopting a community is point blank a white suprematist idea. Where is the understanding of mistake and pain.
We are so alone and isolated in this generation and we are playing directly into the interests of those in power by further self-separating. Focus on some important fucking shit.

Why I will never support the radical feminist movement, as a detransitioning woman.
note: this is not meant to be any sort of hit piece or slander, I respect every feminist, even ones I disagree with. This is just my reasoning for why I do not like the radfem movement.
For a bit of context, I’ve indentified as trans since I was 12. At 18, I’ve decided to live my life as a lesbian woman, and i’ve never been happier with that choice.
Now, being a young trans man, I interacted a lot with pro trans content online (of course I did), and so of course I’ve heard about radical feminism. A passionate branch of feminism that takes a unique approach to women’s rights- deconstructing gender entirely. It sounds wonderful in theory, because of course gender is oppressive, most notably of women. I would know, being one. Even when I was trans I had to worry about being out at night. I even got chased once, and a man attempted to lure me to his truck another time. It’s brutal. But radical feminists devote their activism to ending this in a straightforward, logical way.
So why do I, a woman who has experienced both misogyny and transphobia, not support that? I feel that this is a good question for both trans allies and radfems alike to to ask. Knowledge is power.
Well, I’ll be direct. Radfems are some of the most depraved people i’ve ever met. I know, that sounds like a lot, but there’s no other words I can use that don’t perfectly encapsulate my experience with radfems. It’s depravity.
For weeks, I was harassed by transphobic radfems. Radfems, who are insistent on their love and support for TIFs aka trans men. It’s strange then that they would be so cruel towards one, wouldn’t you say?
Detransition is hard enough. It’s difficult to tell family that you were wrong. It’s difficult to reconnect with my gender. Hell, i prefer the term detrans over cis just because i have such a disconnect from my gender. So why do I have to deal with transphobic radfems sending me gore and death threats?
Thankfully all of the accounts doing this seem to be deleted or repurposed. But it’s only a matter of time until a new account is made just to send me an ask telling me to kill myself or a message about how much of a loser i am.
It’s this reason alone why i’ll never be a radfem. They’re just sick people. They don’t want liberation for women, they just hate trans people. It’s not even thinly veiled, their accounts are fully based around how horrible trans women are.
The truth being, trans women aren’t bad people at all. It’s easy to think they are because the news and media cherry picks some of the worst ones, but every community and minority group has bad people in it. some of the sickest people you could imagine, really. yes, they can be trans. but does being trans make you a sick person? does it turn you into a predator? no, it doesn’t. it just means you’re trans. trans or not, it’s up to men to be mature and take accountability for their own actions that they consciously make. a cis man is as capable to walk into a women’s room as a trans woman is.
if radical feminists cared more about women and detrans women, i could consider getting along with them. but sadly, all these passionate and dedicated feminists care about is hating trans people with a fiery passion. and i’ve been a casualty. it’s very difficult for me to sympathize with radfems when they’ve upset me to the point that they have
let me make it clear that gore and death threats don’t upset me, i’m not easily offended. So it’s not the threats that make me angry. It’s just the principle. The fact that radfems are spending their time scrolling reddit for gore pictures to send to fellow women instead of supporting us makes me SICK. it’s heartbreaking to picture a woman, raped and beaten by her boyfriend, and a radfem standing in front of her, readily available to help, but choosing to yell at a passing detrans woman. It’s really sad.
hopefully those reading this can take my words into consideration and use it to improve yourselves or your community (if you’re a radfem). i love womanhood and being a woman and i would love to share that joy with my sisters, but i just can’t when these issues i’ve experienced are in the back of my mind. I want radical feminism to be a safe space, a place where sisters can go to talk to women, relate to women, cry with and support women. but so far, the only love and support i’ve received has been from the trans community. that speaks volumes.

gonna be real with you bestie i don’t think you need a historical rf source to realise that the political movement about female liberation from men is, in fact, not about partnering with men
This is why I was against radfems trying to socially force women out of het relationships from the beginning.
You cannot force a woman to take that step nor do you understand the specific details of her personal life and relationships.
And this isn’t to say that the “facts” aren’t true. Many women are happier celibate from men even if they are OSA but that’s a journey that’s private and involves a lot of healing work from the grooming we all receive to be compliant sexual objects for men. I cannot overemphasize that patriarchal socialization is traumatic and many women drawn to feminism are drawn to it *because of, not in spite of* of serious sexual trauma that is complex, individualized and difficult to overcome not to mention, simply prioritizing yourself over men is a feminist act that takes serious work to achieve.
Many women also simply do not have access to real life feminist communities and the social worlds they do have access to are patriarchal and will punish a woman looking to “deny” males access to her. There is a reason I pay out of the ass to live in NYC, because the rad friends I have made here have been invaluable to my mental health. I haven’t tried to kill myself once since I’ve lived here, not the case for most of my adult life.
This is a journey where most women take slow steps over time, with the resources available to them and their ability in the moment. This is not a religion by which your salvation is determined by whether or not you adhere to popular separatist ideas on the internet and a feminist life in a patriarchal world is a risk not all women can take or should take the exact same way.
The woman who was shamed is a prostitution survivor, she is already on a positive journey for her health. She needs support and community to continue to heal-not villianization.
TLDR: treat other feminists with good faith or log off.

So what happens when women separate from men? The human race wouldn't survive, we'd go extinct. If you really believe the only way for women to achieve liberation is by human extinction, you ought to add "efilist" to your bio and be more up front about it. Women have made leaps of progress over just the last 100 years with men here, and I'd like to see our species advance, not die off.
Do you do full separatism? You don't have male friends, male coworkers, don't read books by men or listen to their music, no male roommates, etc? Or do you just not date them and call that good enough?
Although separatism is a very interesting and worthwhile idea to discuss, it is not a synonym for radical feminism. It's a feminist theory, not feminism itself.
You seem to have some confusion on the word "radical." In "radical feminism" the word radical means "getting to the root of" not "extreme". To quote the famous radical feminist Shulamith Firestone (wrote The Dialectic of Sex, heard of it?) "The end goal of feminist revolution must be, unlike that of the first feminist movement, not just the elimination of male privilege but of the sex distinction itself: genital differences between human beings would no longer matter culturally." This cannot be achieved by more division and radical feminism actually blames our oppression on our "othering" by men.
And before I get called a bihet or a straightie or moid lover, I don't date men. I don't find it worth it. But I also see it's not the magic cure for ending female oppression.

not to return to the drama of yesterday/invite more but the terf accusations are wild because like. the whole fucking thing is that it's trans exclusionary radical feminism. what makes terfs terfs is the transphobia particularly transmisogyny.
and accusing somebody of being a terf for. being mean to a fictional man. is like... first of all i actually don't think they believe anything they're saying like i do think they're just trying to use social justice language to make themselves seem justified but BESIDES THAT. it is actually so insanely transphobic and misogynistic to act like Being Mean To A Guy is equivalent to trans exclusionary radical feminism. terfs are not primarily hurting men they are primarily hurting trans women!! it is quite literally in the name!!
but "terf" has been watered down so much that now people just use it as an insult against any lesbian they don't like. if you commit the crime of not worshipping men then you are actually a radical feminist which means you are also a transphobe and now people can attack you for not liking men but in a Woke Progressive way. it does not matter your actual ideology or even if you're trans yourself All that matters is that you dared to not center men 24/7.
and the worst fucking part of all of this is that as always trans women are being shouted over and disregarded! these people don't CARE about trans women all they care about is bullying dykes. and they're losers so they invoke trans women as some bizarre justification for their actions while doing Nothing to aid or advocate for trans women. it's just like such hateful loser behavior and it pisses me off.

Preface: Most of this blog is not dedicated to trans-related topics. However, seeing as I get nonstop harassment regarding trans matters, almost always from people assuming my views, experiences, and thoughts entirely incorrectly, a disproportionate number of the links in this Pinned will be aimed at this subject in order to provide legitimate insight as to my views, my feminism, and my experiences - both with my transition & the trans community in general. Chances are, you are very wrong about me in all those areas. Only one way to find out 😉

No, I obviously don't hate trans people, and if you believe that, you have a black-and-white way of looking at things. Trans people deserve safety and equality; this must not come at the expense of women/girls, homosexual people, people with DSDs, or any other marginalized and vulnerable group. If you think these opinions cannot coexist, maybe ask yourself why. If you think they can coexist, why do you have a problem with me?

My primary thread responding to the way much of the tumblr trans community handled my sharing my story of surviving the 2016 Pulse Nightclub shooting (often by stealing my lived trauma and removing my url) is easily one of the most - if not the most - important posts pertaining to trans discourse I've made to date. About Me:
I am a butch lesbian, married to a badass gnc (but not butch) radfem lesbian goddess whose misandry surpasses even my own; she does have tumblr but rarely uses it - @psychichologramnightmare is hers. I'm 28/Taurus/May baby, though I'll be real, I've never liked astrology and found my birth chart n whatnot always laughably wildly inaccurate to me (sorry astrology girlies). Former competitive rock climber, still in love with hiking and climbing. Wilderness survivalist. Trained & armed woman, advocate for female-only firearm ownership.
My wife and I run our own business, and bought our first home together at 24 & 25 respectively - it's a lovely 4/3 on a quarter acre where we have 5 mango trees and more, plan to start growing our own food and herbs, foster kittens, and provide free housing (and more) regularly for those in need. We do a LOT of IRL feminist action/work/organizing. I post about some of that work pretty often, but I couldn't possibly post about all of it (even if it were safe to do so). I am basically organizing (mostly offline, but some online as well) full-time now.
Survivor of abuse, CSA + captivity, trafficking in my teens where I was forced into porn as a minor, the Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando 2016, and more. I am no longer affected by any of these in any negative psychological manner. I own my past, every moment of it, and wouldn't change a thing I've experienced. What I often tell people is, "I'm not glad it happened; I'm glad I was there."
I practice "witchcraft" (kind of...) as a form of artistic expression. I don't subscribe to any literal metaphysical/supernatural/whatever set of beliefs or narrative, and have had a lifelong inability to believe in such things, but I am passionate about lesbian-centered/lesbian-exclusive (esp butch & gnc lesbian) witchcraft. I am also using this practice in part to connect further with my ancestors and their culture & way of life, but this would take a full essay to elaborate on/explain.
I got my Bachelor's in Neuroscience/Neuropsych, used to work in a top neuro research lab, and have been a coauthor on a peer-reviewed scientific journal publication. I wrote my undergraduate thesis on POTS, ADHD, some of the relevant epigenetics, and norepinephrine dysregulation. I was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos & POTS in 2015, before pretty much anyone had heard of them (including most doctors). My POTS is very well-managed now, but chronic pain from EDS is more of a struggle. I recently went for testing for EDS subtype and was diagnosed with Type IV/vascular-type EDS (VEDS).
Adoptee with complex history. Working through a lot of feelings surrounding my ancestry - one birth parent was white, other was almost entirely indigenous Mexican (Nahua), and I have like zero personality traits in common with the former but have only been able to meet them irl not the other side - and the fact that my adoptive family (white) has not always handled things well in raising adopted kids. I only learned my full biological family history as an adult and was lied to by them about it my whole life. Which, looking back it feels like I always knew on some level, as adoptees often seem to, and it puts a lot of my childhood difficulties etc in context. Adoption-critical but not abolitionist - I plan to adopt with my wife in a couple years. I've talked a fair bit about my experiences, adoption trauma, ethical adoption, and more. I spent many years surrounded by majority-trans-identifying friends/acquaintances both irl and online, deeply involved in trans spaces & activism, and even identified for a bit & was on T for a while. I am not "uneducated" or unfamiliar with trans-identifying people, their experiences, or gender identity ideology in general. You, like me back then, very probably have been lied to about radfems ("terfs") and what we believe and fight for. I am happy to talk in good faith (provided you do the same) 1 on 1 with anyone who is curious about what we actually believe and what we stand for, what common radfem takes on gender identity ideology & trans identity actually are and why.
I have a history of purely physical sex dysphoria (physical sensation like pain or itching). I got "top surgery" (elective mastectomy) due to this and other reasons: constant painful breast cysts & very large breasts (DDD even when I weighed under 100 lbs). I was not trans-identifying by the time I got this surgery (though I tried to briefly identify as nb/transmasc just bc I felt obligated, but hated it). I have never wanted to be a man socially and genuinely hated the very thought. I came out the womb feminist, got in trouble throughout primary school for fighting boys who tried to pull sexist bullshit, always lowkey believed in female superiority (I mean just look at our biology, lifespans, pain tolerance, the things we've done throughout history despite violent patriarchal oppression...). I spent years preparing myself. I read from & spoke to women who regretted this surgery, challenged myself at every turn, dove deep into my mind and thought processes, tried alternative treatment attempts, worked with a non-affirming therapist, made sure my past traumas were fully healed, and waited until I was in my mid-twenties so my brain was more or less fully matured. I have no regrets about it. I still have some (still purely physical sensation) dysphoria ("phantom male genitals" type of thing) at times, but have come to manage this very well. More on this here.

With reproductive and marriage rights for both homosexuals and osa women going out the window, we need to take our activitism to the real world, and put if fucking everywhere
We need to go to every onlind study on women, on the all the possible side affects of pregnancy, every piece of feminist literature, and download them and print them and archive them physically because online censorship will become a thing. We need to print and write down every possible methods of at home abortions and save it. We need to print these out and tape them fucking everywhere, slip them into library books and fold them into paper airplanes and slip them into every nook and crany we can. We need to carry sharpies and spray paint and write on every bathroom stall, hotel wall, every bus seat and anywhere else we can and share everything we can. We need to remind women that even if they can't divorce, they can still run and hide from the husbands by seeking out other women who will hide them. We need to by and stockpile plan b and condoms and pregnancy test and any over the counter abortion pills we can and have them ready to share. We need to creat physical emergency cash stashes and not trust banks. We need need to encourage every fucking women to not get married, to no date, and not have any sex that can result in pregnancy. We need every women who can, regardless of their personal feelings on guns, to just get at least one as protection because if we begin to withhold sex, men will begin to try and take it by force. Men will beat and rape us if they know we're rebelling against their control. We need to teach other women how to secretly tract their periods offline and have every pregnancy symptom listed for memorization. We need to go and fucking vandalize and destroy the churches that have been encouraging this fucking bullshit. We need bots to spam any and everywhere with reproductive information, pregnancy and rape and DV statistics, bots that spam advice on how to recognize, avoid, disengage, and escape abusive men. We need to be fucking loud and everywhere, online and in real life. We need to go to every lesbian and gay bar/homosexual spaces in general, collect contact information and network, and start figuring out underground meet ups. We need to start networking with women in general and passing on information. Every private wall should have something written or taped too it that may help even one person. Herbs and anything growable in general that can induce aborts should be stockpiled and grown if possible. Every church, every corporate building, every police station and government building should be spray painted and vandalized to make a fucking point. We didn't get our rights by peacefully protesting, we had to pry them from the hands of men with violence, and now that they are trying to claw them back, we need to be violent once more

no one here is asking you to get into a lesbian relationship if you’re a radical feminist. That’s absurd and it’s so homophobic straight girl coded, relax.
it just doesn’t make sense since being a radical feminist would imply that you as a woman wants to take down the system created to keep us down. So marriage, having children etc. How can you fix yourself to say you’re a radical feminist? Radical feminism means taking radical action. Nothing is radical about having children with a male and marrying him. Where’s that post that said that radical feminism is being hijacked by conservatives? Yeah. Just because you hate trans people doesn’t mean you’re a radical feminist. I don’t know how many times this needs to be said. You need to take ACTION. refusing men and not letting them have access to you especially so intimately is RADICAL. (also the smartest and most empowering thing a woman can do)
Honestly, i don’t care if women want to date men- we all know that no matter what men do women will never stop dating them and i personally have a billion other things to think about - but don’t sit up on a high horse thinking you’re some radical feminist when in reality you’re willing to give it up in a heartbeat for a nice guy

TW: Trans activists
For more than a decade now, trans activists have been harassing those who belong to a feminist philosphy we call radical feminism or the women’s liberation movement.
Radical feminists, like most feminists, believe that men use sex to oppress women. Meaning they oppress women through sexual exploitation and by perpetuating sexist discrimination towards those who belong to the female sex. They were the first to research and expose violence against women as endemic and traumatizing, and to create shelters for rape and domestic violence victims. Those shelters are now being vandalized and defunded by trans activists.
Because radical feminists don’t believe in gender identities, gendered souls, gender roles or any form of innate personality based on sexist stereotypes, they have been receiving rape and death threats on a daily basis. The acronym “terf” was soon invented and is now used to describe any person who doesn’t support the trans movement, even if they’re not feminists, just as long as they're women, though lesbians and feminists tend to be the primary targets.
As a whole, the trans movement claims that its biggest enemy and threat, its most pressing matter, its most dangerous opponent is the women’s liberation movement or what they call “radfems” or “terfs”. This is where their energy and anger is directed, typically in the form of sexist and sexual harassment, intimidation techniques, violence, censorship and social isolation. So let’s talk about that.
From the book Hate Crimes in Cyberspace:
Cyber harassment involves threats of violence, privacy invasions, reputation-harming lies, calls for strangers to physically harm victims, and technological attacks.
Victims’ in-boxes are inundated with threatening e-mails. Their employers receive anonymous e-mails accusing them of misdeeds. Even if some abuse is taken down from a site, it quickly reappears on others. Victims’ sites are forced offline with distributed-denial-of-service attacks.
While some attackers confine abuse to networked technologies, others use all available tools to harass victims, including real-space contact. Offline harassment or stalking often includes abusive phone calls, vandalism, threatening mail, and physical assault.
The Internet extends the life of destructive posts. Harassing letters are eventually thrown away, and memories fade in time. The web, however, can make it impossible to forget about malicious posts. And posts that go viral attract hundreds of thousands of readers.
Online harassment can quickly become a team sport, with posters trying to outdo each other. Posters compete to be the most offensive, the most abusive. An accurate name for such online groups is cyber mobs. The term captures both the destructive potential of online groups and the shaming dynamic at the heart of the abuse.
Cyber harassment disproportionately impacts women. The U.S. National Violence Against Women Survey reports that 60 percent of cyber stalking victims are women, and the National Center for Victims of Crimes estimates that the rate is 70 percent. Of the 3,393 individuals reporting cyber harass-ment to WHOA from 2000 to 2011, 72.5 percent were female. The most recent Bureau of Justice Statistics report found that 74 percent of individuals who were stalked on or offline were female, and 26 percent were male.
Researchers found that users with female names received on average one hundred “malicious private messages,” which the study defined as “sexually explicit or threatening language,” for every four received by male users.
According to the study, “Male human users specifically targeted female users.” By contrast, men are more often attacked for their ideas and actions. John Scalzi, a science fiction author and popular blogger, has found online invective typically situational. When he writes something that annoys people, they tell him so. People do not make a “hobby” out of attacking his appearance and existence as they do female bloggers.
The nature of the attacks similarly attests to bigotry’s presence. Hate expresses something uniquely damaging. It labels members of a group as inhuman “others” who do not possess equal worth. It says that group members are inferior and damaged. Bigotry conveys the message that group members are objects that can be destroyed because they have no shared humanity to consider.
Cyber harassment exploits these features by exposing victims’ sexuality in humiliating ways. Victims are equated with their sexual organs, often described as diseased.
Once cyber harassment victims are sexually exposed, posters penetrate them virtually with messages that say “I will fuck your ass to death you filthy fucking whore, your only worth on this planet is as a warm hole to stick my cock in.”
Rape threats profoundly impact women: over 86 percent of rape victims are female. Virtual elimination may follow the imagined penetration: “First I’ll rape you, then I’ll kill you.”
One woman who faced online abuse noted, “Someone who writes ‘You’re just a cunt’ is not trying to convince me of anything but my own worthlessness.” Despite the gravity of their predicaments, cyber harassment victims are often told that nothing can or should be done about online abuse. Journalists, bloggers, lay observers, and law enforcement officials urge them to ignore it. Victims are called “whiny baby girl[s]” who are overreacting to “a few text messages.” Often victims are blamed for the abuse. They are scolded for sharing their nude images with loved ones or for blogging about controversial topics. They are told that they could have avoided the abuse had they been more careful.
A related message sent to victims is that the benefits of online opportunities are available only to those who are willing to face the Internet’s risks. They are advised not to expect anything different if they want to make a name for themselves online. The choice is theirs: they can toughen up or go offline.
The Internet is governed by society’s rules. Life online bleeds into life offline and vice versa. The notion that more aggression should be tolerated in cyberspace than in real space presumes that virtual spaces are cordoned off from physical ones.
Most victims do not report cyber harassment to the police because they assume that nothing will be done about it. Sadly, they are right. Law enforcement frequently fails to act on victims’ complaints even though criminal law would punish some of the behavior. Victims are told to turn off their computers because “boys will be boys.” Online harassment victims are told that nothing can be done; they are advised to ignore rape and death threats. During the summer of 2013, high-profile women were subjected to a torrent of online threats. The feminist activist Caroline Criado Perez received hundreds of graphic rape threats via Twitter after her successful campaign to feature more female images on British banknotes.
Members of Parliament and female writers who publicly supported Criado-Perez faced the same, including bomb threats. One tweet featured a picture of a masked man holding a knife with the message, “I’m gonna be the first thing u see when u wake up.”
Because the Internet serves as people’s workspaces, professional networks, résumés, social clubs, and zones of public conversation, it deserves the same protection as offline speech. No more, no less.
Without doubt, the free speech interests at stake are weighty. Free expression is crucial to our ability to govern ourselves, to express our thoughts, and to discover truths. For that reason, government cannot censor ideas because society finds them offensive. Truthful speech must not be banned just because it makes people uncomfortable.
But credible threats, certain defamatory falsehoods, social security numbers, and nude images posted without consent contribute little to discourse essential for citizens to govern themselves and discover truths. Their net effect is the silencing of victims. Victims could blog, post videos, and engage on social networks without fear of destructive cyber harassment. They could raise money using networked tools unencumbered by rape threats, reputation-harming lies, and distributed- denial- of- service attacks. They could take advantage of all of the expressive opportunities available online. Protecting against online harassment would secure the necessary preconditions for victims’ free expression.
With the help of law and the voluntary efforts of Internet intermediaries, parents, and teachers, we might someday achieve a free and equal Internet. We need to take action before cyber harassment becomes a normal feature of online interactions. A hostile online environment is neither inevitable nor desirable. We should not squander this chance to combat discriminatory online abuse; it is early enough in our use of networked tools to introduce equality of opportunity as a baseline norm of interaction.

A professor of criminology, who was compared with “a racist uncle at the Christmas table” because of her gender critical beliefs, has won an unfair dismissal claim against the Open University.
Prof Jo Phoenix, a lesbian who set up the Gender Critical Research Network (GCRN) at the OU, was also found to have suffered victimisation and harassment, as well as direct discrimination.
She becomes the latest in a series of gender critical feminists, who believe sex is biological, immutable and should be prioritised over gender identity, to win employment tribunals.
In a judgment published on Monday, the tribunal found that Prof Louise Westmarland, head of discipline in social policy and criminology at the OU, made the “racist uncle” comment, which amounted to harassment, because she was unhappy about Phoenix signing a letter in the Sunday Times registering disquiet over a perceived inappropriately close relationship between the LGBTQ+ charity Stonewall and UK universities, and about her expressing her gender critical beliefs at a Women’s Place UK talk.
The tribunal panel, led by Judge Jennifer Young, found that Westmarland “was effectively telling the claimant off for having expressed gender critical beliefs”.
“Prof Westmarland knew that likening the claimant to a racist was upsetting for the claimant. We conclude that its purpose was to violate the claimant’s dignity because inherent in the comment is an insult of being put in the same category as racists”.
The panel found instances of direct discrimination including the prohibition of Phoenix from speaking at departmental meetings about her experiences of being treated in detrimental ways because of her gender critical beliefs or talking about her gender critical research. Additionally there was “silence and lack of praise” motivated by her gender critical beliefs when she obtained a C$1m grant while another colleague was praised just for making a grant application, according to the tribunal.
After Phoenix set up the GCRN, 368 of her colleagues signed an open letter calling for the disaffiliation of the group, which it labelled transphobic, from the OU because of the beliefs of its members. OU did not take action to ask those behind the letter, published in a Google Doc, to take it down and the tribunal said this was harassment, having “a chilling effect on the claimant expressing her gender critical beliefs and carrying out gender critical research”. A statement about the GCRN in a similar vein to the open letter was published on the university’s website by the wellbeing, education and language studies faculty/reproduction, sexualities and sexual health research group. There were also tweets and retweets from colleagues about the GCRN.
Phoenix resigned from the OU in December 2021. The tribunal found that she was constructively unfairly dismissed because the university breached the implied terms of trust and confidence in her employment contract and the duty to provide her with a suitable working environment. Remedies will be determined at a later date.
The judgment said: “We find that the claimant was not provided with effective protection from the effects of the launch of the GCRN. We find that the respondent did not provide the claimant protection particularly in the form of asking staff and students not to launch campaigns to deplatform the GCRN, or make calls to remove support for the claimant’s gender critical research, or use social media to label the claimant transphobic or TERF (trans-exclusionary radical feminist). The respondent failed to protect the claimant because they did not want to be seen to give any kind of support to academics with gender critical beliefs, including the claimant.”
Prof Tim Blackman, vice-chancellor of the OU, said the university was disappointed by the judgment and would consider whether to appeal. He said: “We acknowledge that we can learn from this judgment and are considering the findings very carefully.
“We are deeply concerned about the wellbeing of everyone involved in the case and acknowledge the significant impact it has had on Prof Phoenix, the witnesses and many other colleagues. Our priority has been to protect freedom of speech while respecting legal rights and protections.”

Pjo had Percy hate the gods as much as Luke does and act on it too but directly TO them instead of grooming younger halfbloods to work for him as soldiers and in fact he basically adopted every one of them he came across as his siblings and pseudo-kids and this is explicitly framed as why he's a hero and Luke's evil but you see nonstop erasure of his anti-corruption and anti-authority mentality and direct action despite being his core character traits to make him more palpable as an 'average fantasy protagonist' when the point of him is that he's not normal in any way
The Owl House had 3/5 of it's mcs be poc with the two white ones being an autistic and ocd lesbian and the other a disabled boy with zero conventionally physical traits that're never made out to be ugly and the protag is an inmigrant afrolatina girl while the big villain is a puritan colonizer and every single ship on the show is queer including the m/f one and the token white boy has almost all the important characters to his arc being black and the only one who isn't is a fat asian girl who's also disabled but the HUGE amount of positive rep in the show is deliberately taken out of context for bad faith critisism by a bunch of 20/30/even 40 year olds who've never written actual good stories themselves and this includes them adoring and gushing over the colonizer guy while dismissing the poc and women in the cast as irrelevant
Across the Spiderverse had an EXTREMELY black in every way character literally named SpiderPUNK who makes his beliefs clear in every single one of his lines and isn't all talk for a single second but he's reduced down to 'annoying edgy older brother figure' and made to listen to Taylor Swift and go to Hot Topic and called 'obviously a skater boy' and every other poser punk trope in the books
Atla had Aang and Katara be a gnc boy of a lesser known type of asian race and Katara a brownskin native girl that reclaims femininity for herself with their character drives being to save the world with Zuko's arc hammering it in again and again that while he always had good in him,he WAS evil,he DOES have a lot of bad traits and that made him do a lot of bad things and THAT'S why he needed a redemption arc to be a hero but Aang gets called racist for following the buddhist belief that in-universe he was sole remaining follower of that killing humans is bad,Katara gets adultified and stripped of her actual personality to make her just 'hashtag relatable teen gurl' and Zuko gets infantalized and upholded as the least problematic character in the whole show

You really can't say any type of criticism to a white person hiding behind the word queer and pretending they're enlightened because they're polyamorous about their actions
My introduction to poly people was years ago when a Haitian mutual ( she lived there ) shared an article or a passage from a book about poor uneducated Haitian women staying with their cheating husbands and white poly people saying it's polyamory and being confused people are cussing them out. The women are " ok" with it because they have nowhere else to go. Misogyny exists, and those women are infected with STDs because their husbands don't care. Cultures that normalise cheating are usually a patriarchal, and the acceptance is financially coerced if that woman has an education or support
They're so obsessed with proving they experience an ism so think they can lecture like they're talking about racism or sexism.

Okay, so I hope I don't come off as really confrontational and I'm sorry if it does. I've started to notice an increasing number of posts on your blog that seem to be critical of things trans women do on an intra-community level. I wasn't going to say anything before, but someone you reblogged mentioned that they were starting to keep an archive of what they called "Trans radfem behavior" and that concerned me a bit.
I have -- for years -- been extremely critical of cop behavior within the community or divisive behavior within the community. I have been critical of fellow lesbians when they have gone after aces and bi people. I have been critical of fellow transmascs when they say shitty things. My most quoted, most reblogged, most 'taken and posted on other sites', most linked on Reddit (fucking apparently) post is one about divisiveness and respectability politics within the community, how those things fail us and set us up to be split up and devoured by the cishets, and a call for radical inclusiveness within the community as the only way forward.
This isn't new. I've always been like this.
I have also always been critical of the idea that identity is a shield for shitty behavior. Whether that's disabled people acting like they can't be ableist, queer people acting like they can't say homophobic shit, Jews who think they can't act in an antisemitic way, or trans people acting transphobic or saying transphobic things, this is not a new concept for me, nor one I'll move away from. It is an unfortunate thing that disabled ableists and trans radfems exist, but they do, and I've gotten tired of the idea that we have to pretend someone isn't saying shitty things because of their identity.
For a long time, one of the topics I shied away from was discussing the divisions within the trans community specifically, because -- quite frankly -- I've seen the dogpiling that tends to happen to transmascs when we criticize the shitty, bioessentialist, 'man bad woman good' behaviors of a very small but very vocal section of the online transfem community.
But shying away from talking about that is just fucking cowardice, and I've never been able to stand for cowardice within myself. So yeah, you're definitely seeing more criticism of shitty intracommunity behavior within the trans community with me. I have never been one to criticize shitty behavior restricted to identity, however, and I have surely been critical of shit behavior regardless of whether or not the person saying it is a trans man, a trans woman, or any other group of people.
You will continue to see me criticize shitty behavior, because I am absolutely fed up with the way that this community treats itself, and you will see me talk about the things that happen as they happen. Right now, there's an awful lot of shitty behavior aimed at trans men and transmascs on this site, including some from trans women. It's absolutely unconscionable to talk about raping people, or to use words like "theyfab," "cuntboy," and "zippertits" to refer to transmascs. That's what's happening, so yep, you're gonna see that on my Tumblr.
The solution here is not to be concerned about me talking about it, but to be concerned about the people doing that. Talking about shit behavior isn't the problem. The shit behavior is the problem, and it's important to both talk about the shit behavior so it fucking stops, and to talk about the shit behavior very clearly as the actions of the people who took them and not the actions of a community. It sucks that there are transfems and trans women who think it's okay to treat transmascs and trans men the way that some transmascs on here are being treated right now. Those transfem folx should know better than to pull that shit, because they know what it's like to be the target of that kind of behavior.
That said, I am absolutely not responsible for what other people say or do. I am not aware of having reblogged or endorsed the idea of starting an archive of 'trans radfem shit,' so I'm very confused as to why exactly you're talking to me about it as if I said it or endorsed it or as if it has anything to do with me, or why it would be bad to talk about the way in which trans people of any gender can fall prey to radfem manipulation. Maybe the person talking about it specified they were tracking trans women, but even the ask you sent me says 'trans radfem behavior,' so I'm assuming it would be trans people of any gender, right? If not, why are you linking those ideas together?
Like, I didn't say it, I didn't endorse it, I'm not responsible for it, but what exactly would be wrong with talking about how radfem mindsets infect our community in the first place? The manner in which too many trans people find it easy to fall into the bioessentialist thinking of radfems is a community problem.
tl;dr: I criticize everybody when they act like fools, and I'm not responsible for some random thing that 'somebody I reblogged' said.
