bayou Uncle Tom's Cabin murder mystery 👀👀👀👀👀

hi sjonnie!!! Sorry this took so long to get to :( This one was because I listened to Uncle Tom's Cabin by Warrant a little too hard and the brainworms got me. also did i mention destiel?

Sam and Dean (14 & 18) are night fishing in the swamp near their uncle Bobby's cabin and are perched in a tree when the voices of the town sheriff and deputy filter through the night. Sam is sleeping, and Dean leans over to watch them dragging two things between them. It takes both the sheriff and deputy to heave the first thing into the water, and horrified, Dean realises that the things are bodies. Sam wakes up right as they finish heaving the second body down the old wishing well, much too close to their tree for comfort. Dean signals him to be quiet and they watch as the deputy tosses a watch down into the darkness, spits after it, and he and the sheriff both vanish back the way they came. They wait for what feels like hours up there in the dark, the fishing long forgotten about until Dean hears distant splashing and a groan coming from the well. He's out of the tree before Sam can tell him not to go - someone is climbing out of the well, slowly but surely, and Dean leans in as far as he can to help the person out. Dean tells Sam to forget their fishing gear and they scarper, half carrying the person from the well. Once they’re back in Bobby's cabin Dean can see who it is he pulled out of the well - it’s a young man about his age, scared silent, and he can’t stop looking at Dean with the bluest eyes he’s ever seen in his life.

anyway, there's much more to it but if I tell you it'll spoil the concept! it's a cheeky little attempted double homicide with law enforcement involved, with some old fashioned small-town homophobia sprinkled in for plot

currently craving: 1. my partner always, 2. to play bg3 once it becomes more affordable for me 🫠, 3. there's a restaurant that's like a 40 minute train ride away that makes the *best* khao soi chicken and i've been yearning for it for weeks
