thank you!!!🥺 it took me around four days id say:) it started being much more flat and hyper realistic bc that was kinda my default mode in traditional lol (see pic) but ive been trying to achieve a more painterly look in my art so i kept working on it for one more day to get the final version and im so glad i did🤧

fun fact☝🏻 i lost the entirety of crowley's side of the painting at like 3am when it was already done bc i tend to only work in one layer and the app i use malfunctioned so i had to redo the entire thing the next day😭

i don’t really know why or if it would even fit with your private practice au, but i was just assaulted with the thought of nurse frank (from gifted). he’s a little gruff and maybe not entirely personable, but he treats his patients well and always gives lollipops to his favorites.

oooh rach this is an interesting idea 🤔 i haven’t written smutty frank before but if enough people were into it i think i could definitely try it out, i can see him being the more serious, maybe a little grumpy nurse who the doctors prefer over jakey who’s usually so fun and a little goofy hehe 🤍 or maybe like you said, he does have a softer side for a few favorite patients 🥺

Why does this sort of thing piss me off so much? I'm trying to work on being more zen about this clichéd, unfunny ignorance, i.e. the 'no girls like prog' lie, so I thought if I understood why it bothers me, that might help me deal with it.

No one's ever actually asked me about it, so I'm taking the initiative on this one.

Q: WHY DID YOU NAME WINTER'S SWORD EDELWEISS?

First things first, the sword needed a name, and if RT won't give me one then god damn it, I will take it upon myself. Initially, when I found out that Weiss' rapier was named after a flower ( Myrten Asters, or Aster ericoides 'Erlkönig' ) I kind of knew I wanted to name Winter's something to do with a flower. I liked the idea of another shared naming convention, although I never put much thought about which sister started it -- or if it had been in place for longer than the two sisters.

So, I bounced around a couple different flower names, but kept coming back to edelweiss. I felt a little weird using something that had Weiss' name in it, but I grew to like the idea that Winter had named the sword in honor of her sister, in order to keep her near her in times of struggle.

Edelweiss, literally translated, means "noble white," which also tied into a lot of the imagery I use for Winter -- that being the way she holds herself, those noble airs she never quite lets go of.

On a subtler note, edelweiss flowers represent a promise of devotion, which also felt fitting of a woman who so fully devotes herself to a cause.

At this point I kind of don’t believe that’s really real painted art. The way it looks so INCREDIBLY REALISTIC is absolutely insane.

Have you ever unfollowed a blog? What were the reasons?

I have definitely unfollowed blogs before! Reasons can vary a lot, but the general idea is that if a mun's behavior makes me very uncomfortable, I'll unfollow/soft block.

I used to feel bad about it, but I've realized that this should be my safe space first and foremost. Of course, if it's a little thing, like someone breaking one of my rules, I'll usually just discuss it with the person, as I think communication is super important.

But I also make sure that logging on to Tumblr is a fun, comforting experience for me. So if someone's behavior is constantly causing me anxiety or making me uncomfortable, I'm out. And tbh, I think everyone should feel comfortable doing that, including with me! Everyone caters to their own space, no questions asked.

Another reason is if my attempts at reaching out or plotting are ignored. I usually send a DM to all my new mutuals, I fill their tracker, and I send asks, and if this leads nowhere after a while (and I mean I'm pretty patient tbh) I'll eventually unfollow. I don't really care about followers count, I'm here to write!

saw a few recent disney princess posts on your blog so here's a little fun fact about me: i loooooved the little mermaid growing up, it was my favorite disney princess movie (i only ever saw a few as a child) and i watched the dvd so much it wore out and stopped working 😭 so my uncle bought me a deluxe set and drove it all the way over from a few states away for my birthday 🥺
