“Why hello there, (Y/N).” Douma looked over his shoulder at you, smiling as you draped yourself across his back. “Missed me already?”

“Hmm.” You hummed against his shoulder, closing your eyes. You’ve been going non-stop for what seemed like years, tearing up every corner of Japan in search of the Blue Spider Lily. The results have been…lacking.

The fact you were able to walk away from Lord Muzan with your head still on your shoulders was a miracle. All you wanted to do was melt into your boyfriend and drown in the sound of his laughter.

One wasn’t physically possible, but the other…

“Hm? Did you fall asleep back there?” Douma asked when you didn’t make a sound, leaning more into him. “Funny (Y/N), you know we don’t need sle-ehehe!”

“Shhh, I’m resting my eyes.” You mumbled, unable to fight off a smile as you began to curl your fingers against his sides. “Don’t move so much.”

“Aheahha-aheahhahaha! (Y-(Y/N)! Gehahahhaa, wahhahait, wahhahit hohohohld ohoohohn! Gehahahhahaahaha!” Douma twitched as he leaned forward, already giggling. “Noohohoho fahahir- yoohohohu can’t juuuhhust go and dohohoho thhahahaht!”

“Hush- didn’t I already tell you I’m resting?” You wrapped your arms further around him, tapping your fingers against hard muscles as Douma folded in half, laughing the entire way. “You’re so noisy, Dou. Really, really noisy!”

“Yohoohohou’re the ohoohohne tihihiihckling me- ehehehahahahahhaha!” Squeaking, Douma completely collapsed against the tatami mats lining his space, unable to fight off the peals of mirth building up in his chest. “(Y/N), nohohohohoht thehehehehhehere!”

“Not where?” You mumbled with a giggle of your own, nuzzling the spot between his shoulder blades. It was terribly ticklish- the spot that never failed to get your boyfriend on the edge. “You’re gonna have to be more specific. I don’t know what “where” is.” Your hands moved to the lowest parts of his waist, squeezing rapidly and making him thrash. “Stay still- I’m getting comfortable.”

“Yohohohou and I bohohohoth knohohow thahahaht’s impohohohossible! Agheahhahhahaha!” In a moment of revenge, Douma shot his hand back and grabbed your knee, squeezing. The result…

“Nohohohoho fahhhahahahair!” He cried when you didn’t react- choosing to intensify your tickling instead. “Yhoohohoohu’re nohohohoht tihihiihihcklish at ahahahhahall!”

“What? Of course I am. I’m very ticklish!” You leaned up so your chin rested on his shoulder, speaking into his neck. “I’m super ticklish right here…especially when you do this~”

“(Y/N)!” Douma all but howled when you began nibbling on his neck and ears, making him scrunch up the best he could. It meant nothing- you had him right where you wanted him. “AHEHAHAHHA COOHOHOHME OHOHOHOHON! THIHIHIHS IS UUHUHUHUHNJUUHUHUST! UHUUHUHNFAHHAHAIR! UUHUHUHNCAHHAHALLED FOHOHOHOR!”

“Yes yes, how terrible it must be for Lord Douma- tickled to near death by a lower ranked demon.” You cooed at him, shooting your hands up and digging into his pits- making him fall silent in mirth. “You know- maybe I’ll challenge you for the spot; all I need to do is tickle you to win- I could be Upper Rank 2!” Then you cringed, suddenly disgruntled. “Ew- nevermind; that’s way too much work.”

“YOHOHOHU’D BEEHEHEH GOOHOHOHOD AT IHIHIHI!” Douma cried when he got his voice back, reaching out and catching your hands. “Oohohokay, hoohohkay, that’s enohohohugh.” His voice slowly grew more soft as the remaining giggles passed, leaving him curled up on his side. It was times like this you imagined what he’d look like human- cheeks flushed and chest heaving as he struggled to take in air.

You reached out, pushing his bangs free from his face and running a thumb beneath the misty tears forming on his cheeks. “Did I go too far?” You asked.

Douma only laughed, pulling you into his arms and twisting so he was on top. Adjusting his weight so not to crush you, he cushioned his head against your shoulder with a soft hum. “Never. I’d gladly let you tickle me to the end of time if it means I get to see you so happy.”

Demons didn’t blush, but you felt the phantom feeling of heat on your cheeks at his remark. Smiling, you ran a hand through his long hair, playing with the ends as he got comfy. “You’re right about earlier. I did miss you while I was gone. I missed you alot.”

“Aww, you’re so sweet.” Douma giggled- squeezing you close to him. “I missed you too. I’ll try to ask Lord Muzan for more time with you.”

“That’s gonna go well.”

“I’m his favorite- he’ll listen to me.” Douma stuck his tongue out, grinning when you mock bit at it. “But you’re my favorite snow angel. You always will be.”

“Promise?” You asked, holding out your pinky. Douma didn’t hesitate, wrapping his icy one around yours.

“Promise.”

It sucks so much it literally it literally sucks. What you said about them both loving ideas of eachother is so on point, they're both chasing something within the other that is innately self-contradictory.

Pearl wants to forgive him, but her version of "forgive" is to forgo her own feelings of spite and not challenge his view on things, which means she can never get the closure she needs to truly forgive him or get back the Scott she knew in LL.

Scott also wants Pearl back, the authentic one he knew in LL, but he also needs to whittle her down (cough) to something acceptable to him (in this case, shamed for her actions during DL) so his narrative doesn't get challenged. But that's not quite the Pearl he knew either! He can't have both a genuine connection with Pearl and have her exist solely as the concept of her he's created in his head, but he needs both and I really can't wait to see how that pans out. This paragraph is insane copium btw I do know I think you're a lot more correct than I am when you say he never actually loved her but I'm delusional. Logical side of me definitely thinks he's comfortable like this and if anyone's going to challenge this dynamic it's gonna be Pearl not Scott but what if man. What if.

Anyway I've seen so many people begging Gem to take Pearl in and I do get it I do. I personally have like one million fantasies about something like that as well. However I am calling on my Martyn Inthelittlewood clause and saying that I also do want to see Pearl deal with the consequences.

Fun Fact: While I had the general for Bug first, "Spider on the wall" is what made me go through with making them bug/insect themed.

I'd say "Bug" is a bit too upbeat for Bugman from the perspective of music they'd enjoy, but due to its theme it automatically gets a stamp of approval in there book. "Spider on the wall" however is right up Bug's alley - especially if their Darling has a personality where they'd gift them the nickname "Arachnid".

Floral Fever 2

This probably isn't the greatest, but I did want to finish floral fever, or at least bring it to a point that I wanted, know what I mean? Also, I did add a few lyrics from Compared Child, specifically Rachie's cover, within a few of the lines.

Slowly, your eyes opened. You weren't in your room anymore, instead you were in a strange field of flowers, the same ones that were growing within your body.

When you try to look up, everything around you is far too bright, but it doesn't matter for very long. The flowers block your vision, you wanted to scream out, but the sound of someone approaching you silenced your voice.

Strangely, you knew who this person was, Lilith. Parallel lines meeting for the first time, the first thing she does, is speak to you.

"Those brothers of mine... I understand they're grieving but, why couldn't they understand that you are you, MC?"

Lilith kneeled, now face to face with each other.

"Why didn't you tell them that?"

You quickly turned your head, attempting to meet Lilith's gaze, despite not being able to see her properly.

"Are you out of your mind?! If I told them that... If I told them that it would've hurt them! Besides, they wouldn't have listened to me,"

You pause, catching your breath.

"No matter how hard I try... No matter who I am! They'd rather look at you, not me, never me!"

You scream, you feel guilty. You wish someone would've told you that you would hate Lilith, or, the parts of yourself that mimicked her image.

Before you can continue, you feel Lilith's hand on your cheek, wiping away tears you didn't know were there.

"Oh my dear MC..."

She spoke, her words catching within her throat. Lilith didn't know what to say at this moment, but she knew she had to speak, anything to keep her from losing you. She carefully takes your hands in hers.

"My dear MC, you may think that no one truly loves you... That all they love is what mimics me but, I love you for you,"

Softly, Lilith kisses your forehead and holds you close, softly petting your hair just like a mother would.

"No matter what you think, I'll always love you. Even if you hate me, I'll hold you tight. You're not alone anymore, MC. You've never been alone, because I will always be here, my dear child."

Belphie attempted to speak, but he was met with your gaze as you uncovered your left eye. Your hair falls into place, covering your right eye instead.

I had a lot of fun taking the original outfit and adding some Marigold specific details and it ended up being a good project to mess around with adding highlights to my shading

The songs in limbo are exceptions because of any of these reasons:

there's a specific animatic/animation with the song that is so iconic for a fandom that it could get in even if it doesn't have the animatic amount required

hey y'all so. the english cover of bitter choco decoration by Rachie. uhhh so i kinda analyzed it and came up with my interpretation of this song and more so this specific translation for some reason but, I don't think it'd change much with any other translation of bitter choco decoration. anyhow (this is copied from me talking about it to a mutual, except with some additions)

okay so my interpretation of this song is to highlight the unrealistic expectations and standards people have of someone in society, and that belief that they should act like this ultimately makes them lose their autonomy (?) / individuality in the process of striving to be like everyone else.

the lyrics frequently talk about what somebody does to act like a good person in polite society, but some of the lines afterwards are contradictory to the previous one, implicating that the so-called 'guide' to being a good person is literally impossible to fully achieve despite the pressure to do it all, aka finishing the plate of food. the food can be interpreted as a metaphor of these rules in society, and as the song progresses, the plate gets emptier until the food is finished entirely. the concept of the mc (I'll just call them that) being a picky eater could be interpreted as them struggling to fit into society because they don't seem to like following these rules; obviously, this changes as the song progresses.

the masked people *giving* the food could be role models or generally just people enforcing these rules, hence them bringing out the plate multiple times so the mc can finish it. or, as another interpretation, the line "hey mom, look at me now" could mean the veiled person is a parental figure pushing their beliefs onto their child?

nearing the end, when the meal is finished, therefore the mc has stopped their picky-eating habit of not fitting in with polite society, it cuts to the mc holding a platter of food. this can symbolise the infinite cycle of people putting pressure on others to act in a way that pleases them, thus making them believe that this is how everyone should act, and enforcing it on other people. they've also lost more colour in their appearance, symbolizing their loss of self (?) as they moulded themself to follow these rules

the lines about wanting to be a younger child again, along with a line about dreams being tossed aside, could hint to the fact that as someone gets older, the more these rules are forced upon them. it also literally does say about giving up feelings in the process of becoming like everyone else, also hinting to the mc holding the platter of food like the veiled figures because they've masked themself as the ideal member of society.
