Hey!!! Congrats on 500 followers!! You deserve it!!! Can I have a Grimoire with Topper and "...Did you just sniff me?", possibly with a Pogue!reader? Thank you and congrats again!!! 💕💕💕
hey!! awww thank you so much!!🫶🏻🫶🏻
of course you can!!
warning: a few curse words and implied smut (i think??)
a/n: also i hope this turned out alright!
you were finally done with your shift at the country club. it was a very long, tiring, and annoying day for you. you worked for at least eight hours. plus during your shift, your boss kept on nagging at you for no reason, but you were glad that you were done with your shift and that you were able to go home and do nothing for the rest of the evening.
the first thing that you did when you arrived home, was that you took a shower. once you got done in the shower, you decided to lie down in bed and take a nap.
you were woken up from your nap by someone knocking on your front door. you got out of your comfortable bed and walked to the front door to see whose the person knocking on your door was, and that person was your boyfriend, topper. you opened the front door and there he was standing, “finally! i have been trying to call you. did you get my text?”
“no, i didn’t. i was taking a nap. also what did you even text me?” you asked.
“i texted you to remind you that our dinner and movie date is tonight at 8 pm.”
“shit. that’s tonight. i thought that was next saturday and not this saturday. can we postpone it or something? because i’m seriously not in the greatest mood right now,” you said.
“of course, we can. but are you okay? did something happen?”
“my shitty ass job, that’s what happened. and no i’m not okay. i’m so tempted to quit that job but i can’t because i need the money and i got bills to pay,” you said angrily. topper came closer to you and wrapped his arms around you. the moment topper pulled you into his arms. you felt a lot better and while you were in his arms you smelled the cologne that he always wears you couldn’t help yourself and decided to sniff him. topper noticed this and pulled back, “did you just sniff me?”
“yeah,” you stated. “i couldn’t help myself. okay? it’s just that cologne you wear all the time smells so good.”
“i’ll give you credit for that because you are right about that. it does smell pretty good. but let’s get back to what i was going to say about how i’m sorry about how shitty your job is and all that.”
“shhh. let’s just ignore that stuff for now. we can talk about that later,” you said.
“well for the time being what would you like to talk about?” topper asked.
“this,” you stood on your tippy toes to reach topper’s lips.
topper pulled away from your lips, “i think i like where this is going, but let’s take this somewhere private. yeah?”
“i thought you would’ve never asked,” you smiled.
come celebrate with me!!

Love Prompts
"We'd make such a cute couple" in honor of 500 followers request for Thomas and Amanda and a prompt for love notes between the two, both of which were requested by @krsnlove for this pair.
A/N I'm sorry this took so long M. I made so many different situations for these two with these prompts that just didn't turn out right. But thankfully (no pun intended) I realized it fit an idea I had for Thomas and Amanda celebrating Thanksgiving. So just in time for the holiday, here we go. By the way, I let his parents be alive along with bringing his sister, Rachel and my OC husband for her, Stephen, into this as well, LOL. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

A Date for Thanksgiving
Thomas braced himself. He never knew what to expect when a member of his family called him.
"Hello?"
"I can't believe you actually picked up." His sister Rachel teased. "I bet Stephen that you would let it go to voicemail."
"It's nice to hear from you too." He grumbled.
"Don't worry. I won't keep you long. I wanted to give you a heads up about Thanksgiving." Her voice became serious. "Mom expects us to fly in and spend the week with her and Dad."
"I see." He rocked back in his desk chair. "That shouldn't be a problem."
"You know how Mom hates things to be uneven?" Rachel hated to do this to her brother. "She plans on setting you up with the daughter of one of her friends."
"What?!" He shot up out of his chair. "She can't--"
"Thomas, you know there's no stopping her. Dad is staying out of her way." Rachel told him. "I thought I should forewarn you."
"Thanks." He checked the calendar. Less than three weeks until Thanksgiving. Not enough time to find a way out of going. "I appreciate it."
"I'll see you soon." She promised before hanging up.
Thomas leaned back in his chair once more to figure a way out of this problem.
***************
"But Mom, I--" Thomas paced around his living room. His conversation with his parent was not going well at all.
"I've seen the news." His mother's clipped tone cut off any argument he could possibly make. "And I know that you have been single for far too long." She made a humph sound. "You're not getting any younger, dear."
He bristled at that reminder.
"Francine's daughter, Marie, is perfect for you."
"She's not." He bit out.
"And how would you know? I don't recall you meeting your perfect someone."
Something about her condescending tone struck a need to rebel within him.
"You're wrong." Without thinking of the consequences, he continued. "I have met someone."
"You have?" He could hear the deep suspicion in her voice. "And who is this person? Why haven't you been seen with them in the news?"
Thomas scrambled for a reason. His eyes fell upon his list of messages Holly had written down for him. One name stuck out amongst them all.
"Because she doesn't live here." He explained.
"Who is she? Do I know her?"
"It's Amanda." He closed his eyes briefly for this deception. But desperate times called for such. "You've heard me speak of my friend from Cordonia."
"Amanda?" His mother sounded thrilled. "I knew there was something more between the two of you! You must bring her Thanksgiving."
"She probably won't be able to make it. In fact, I think she's on a diplomatic mission in--" a knock sounded at his door.
He opened it to see the very one he had just named.
"Surprise!" Amanda's smile glowed. "I was able to leave earlier than expected."
"Who's that?" His mother asked.
"It's Amanda." He replied in utter disbelief.
******************
One long explanation later...
"Thomas!" Amanda couldn't contain her laughter over the predicament he found himself in. "You didn't."
"You don't know what my mother is like when she gets an idea in her head." He grumbled. "She's tenacious until the bitter end."
"Then I suppose it is a good thing I'm free the rest of the month." She replied.
Thomas stopped his pacing. "You are?"
"As my boyfriend," her lips trembled with mirth, "I thought you should be made aware of my schedule."
"I can't ask you to help me prove this fabrication I've trapped myself in." He ran his hands down his face. "That's asking too much from our friendship." His frown intensified. "It's asking too much from any friendship."
"I believe if it was reversed that you would help me by playing the part." Amanda reached out for his hand. "I know I'm not a talented actress, but I believe I can be quite convincing in being fond of you."
"It isn't that I doubt your skills." Thomas sat down beside her. "My mother sees straight through people. She notices little things and accurately deduces what is going on." His frown firmed. "It's almost frightening this sixth sense she possesses."
"When is she expecting us?"
"The twenty-first." His eyes widened when Amanda scooted closer to him.
"That gives us less than three weeks to practice being a couple." She took his arm and pulled it around her shoulders before settling against his side. "Let's start with acting natural when sitting close beside each other."
Thomas cleared his throat as he tried to get comfortable. His breath caught when Amanda rested her hand on his knee. She slowly rubbed his lower thigh to try to get him to relax.
"I know it's hard to picture being like this with me." She tilted her head up toward his. "Just pretend I'm someone you find attractive."
His arm curved around her, pulling her even more snug to his side.
She smiled over his willingness to at least give it a try then rested her head upon his shoulder.
"Out of curiosity," she nearly jumped when she felt the light brush of his lips against her forehead when he turned toward her, "who are you imagining?"
"No one." He admitted softly.
****************
The next week or so were spent in how they would act in normal indoor activities. The little touches that couples did while passing by or how best to sit while conversing or watching a movie were experimented.
"I think it's time to try and see how we do on a date." Thomas rubbed the back of his neck. "I mean, if you're comfortable with seeing how best to do so."
"Sounds good." Amanda replied. "When do you wish to go out?"
"Tonight." He cleared his throat. "Dinner should be a good place to start."
"I'll see you then." Amanda got up and kissed his cheek on her way upstairs.
His eyes closed over the longing he was beginning to feel whenever she touched him affectionately.
He hoped this wasn't going to end up with him falling for his own act.
A few hours later the two were in his entryway. Amanda paused in front of the mirror to check her reflection one last time. Her attention settled on Thomas standing beside her, watching every little move she made.
She placed her hand in the bend of his arm to tug him closer to her side. She then gestured toward their reflection.
"You know? We make a cute couple." She decided.
He slowly nodded. "We do look like we belong together."
"Practice makes perfect." She teased.
"I suppose so." He grimaced slightly as he turned to face her. "Are you certain you're still comfortable with this?"
"Thomas stop worrying. I promise I am fine and I will help you get through this holiday visit." She cupped his cheek. "It's going to work."
Without much thought, his arms slipped around her waist. His head lowered slowly to give her a chance to refuse this next stage of intimacy. He expected her to at least say something about them kissing for the very first time.
Instead, he felt her fingers glide across his jawline to settle behind his neck.
Her eyelashes fluttered closed. Her lips parted slightly in anticipation.
The sensations of her lips moving against his made him forget that this was all an act. It wasn't even an act he reminded himself. It was a rehearsal.
One that he hoped would not end.
He ended the kiss with that startling thought and looked into her eyes.
A smile he hadn't seen before formed upon her lips.
"I don't think I've ever had a guy give me a goodnight kiss before we've gone out." She told him.
His own lips quirked into a smile.
"Clearly, you've been dating the wrong men."
****************
The night before the trip to his parents' home was spent in what most would describe as a heavy make out session.
"I think we'll need to get caught at least once in this position by my mother." He explained beforehand. "Or else she will suspect we aren't truly together."
"Really?" Amanda replied with a mischievous grin. "Have you been caught many times in the past in such a position, Mr. Hunt?"
He rolled his eyes. Color crept up his cheeks as he considered his past. "Often enough."
"All right." Amanda stretched out on the couch next to him. "Let's give it a go."
"Are you positive that you are comfortable with something like this?" He asked.
"Comfortable with kissing a handsome man?" Amanda teased. "It is such a hardship but I think I can stomach it."
"I'm serious." Thomas insisted. "I don't want to keep forcing you to," he gestured between them, "to do something like this with me when we've never considered being a couple."
He expected her to respond with another quip or possibly admit to what she felt for him. Was it still friendship or was she now in some gray area like he was and wondering if there might be something more between them that could develop?
Instead she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him.
Thomas decided to forget trying to figure out what this deception of his was causing and to simply enjoy the moment.
Amanda shifted closer to him without breaking the kiss.
And he wasn't able to think at all.
***************
Stowe, Vermont...
"This is beautiful." Amanda gazed around at the rolling hills and mountains.
Snowflakes fell upon them as they got out of the car. The gray bricked two-story home nestled within a copse of maple trees was brightly lit with a large fall wreath gracing the front door.
"Is this where you grew up?" Amanda asked.
"No." He hefted her bags out of the trunk. "My mother grew up nearby. My father promised when he retired that they would one day move back here." He glanced up at the home. "We lived for the most part in Oregon but spent most of our holidays in Stowe."
The front door opened. His brother-in-law, Stephen came out to help with the luggage.
"About time you got here." He teased in lieu of greeting. "Rachel and Susan have been climbing the walls to see you two."
Thomas felt his trepidation build. There would be so many questions. He and Amanda had brainstormed every possible one and came up with answers that were not only easy to remember but also matched the timeline they had known each other.
But what if they missed one?
As Stephen hurried in with the bags he took from Amanda, she turned toward Thomas. Gripping his coat lapels, she pressed a tender kiss upon his lips.
He looked down at her questionably.
"We got this." She whispered. "Plus I saw someone peeking out the window."
He felt some of his nervousness dissipate. Knowing he had someone he trusted willing to help him get through this necessary family time made it seem not so difficult. It also didn't hurt that he was beginning to enjoy her spontaneous affection.
Shutting the trunk, he slipped his arm around her then picked up the few bags they still had left.
"Brace yourself." He murmured near her ear. "We're about to enter the lion's den."
**************
After introductions were made between Amanda and his parents, Susan and Richard Hunt, the two were shown their bedroom.
Thomas nearly cursed at being placed in the same room. He should have insisted they stay in a hotel so that Amanda could have a break from him.
"Come down when you're refreshed." His mother ordered. Her smile appeared when she looked once more upon Amanda. "We have plans to make for your time here."
"Thank you." Amanda said once more. "I'm looking forward to our week here."
She beamed at her once more as she left them alone.
Thomas shut the door. "I'm sorry. I completely forgot about the sleeping arrangements."
Amanda shook her head. "I assumed we would be sharing a bed."
"You did?"
"Of course. Didn't you?"
"I..." He shrugged unable to think properly. "I can sneak downstairs and sleep on the couch once everyone is asleep."
He couldn't believe that the third guestroom had been turned into a hobby room of sorts for his mother while his father had turned the fourth into some type of home gym.
"Don't be silly." Amanda began to unpack. "It won't bother me at all to share a bed with you." She winked at him on her way to the closet. "I don't snore."
He wondered how she could be so nonchalant about this. He wasn't worried about snoring. He was worried about his body betraying his feelings that were popping up the longer they played this farce.
"If you're certain it won't bother--"
"I promise I'll tell you if something makes me uncomfortable." She told him.
"Very well." He grumbled, dumping some of his clothes into various drawers.
Amanda chuckled as she came up behind him and took the things he should have hung up. Shaking them out, she placed them in the closet next to hers.
He didn't know why seeing their things together like that would bring a smile to his face.
****************
That first night...
"More wine?" Rachel offered.
"No, thank you." Amanda replied.
She slipped her hand into Thomas's as his mother began another story of when her children were little.
His father got up to start collecting the empty plates.
"Dad, sit down." Rachel ordered. "Thomas and I have this."
She looked pointedly at her brother.
He squeezed Amanda's hand as he reached for her empty plate.
"I'll help." She offered, rising from her chair with a smile.
"Nonsense." Susan waved her back down. "It isn't everyday my children offer to do the dishes." She grinned at them. "We will take advantage of this for as long as we can."
Stephen choked on his laughter, ducking his head out of reach when Rachel passed by.
Once Rachel got Thomas into the kitchen, she launched into an interrogation worthy of a seasoned detective.
"Why didn't you tell me about you and Amanda?!" She threw a dishtowel at him. "I mean I always suspected, but you could have told me!"
He blinked in surprise. His sister was nearly as astute as their mother. If she readily believed they were a couple, then perhaps his mother would too.
"When did it happen? Where did it happen? How long have you been together?" Her smile couldn't be contained. "Where do you see this going?"
He rolled his eyes while rinsing dishes. "It happened about four months ago." His lips curved as he continued their make-believe beginning. "You'll appreciate that it happened at a ball in Cordonia."
Rachel placed her hand over her heart. "Oh my gosh! It's just like out of a movie."
He nodded. "While we danced, we simply knew." He cast a side glance toward his sister. "The moment was finally right to try and be together."
She sighed while helping him load the dishwasher. "And? You've known her for a long time. You think she's the one?"
He looked down at the pan he was scrubbing. Oddly enough he had asked himself that very question earlier. Amanda seemed to be the one missing piece he needed in his personal life. This first night back with his family lacked the awkwardness he sometimes experienced on previous visits. It was why he usually tried to limit his time with them to a couple of days or so.
But he was actually looking forward to a week with them and Amanda.
"I think she might be the one." He handed the pan over. "I think I've known it for a while."
Rachel nudged him affectionately with her elbow. "I think so too."
******************
The next day the couples went outside to play in the snow that had fallen steadily throughout the night.
Thomas glared at his sister continuously throwing snowballs at him. Her aim was horrible but she was nothing short of annoying, just like she had been when they were children.
The moment he decided to taunt her and hit her with his own snowball, he was attacked from behind.
He turned slowly in disbelief to see Amanda tossing another snowball from one hand to another. Her smug smile flashed before she launched it straight into his face.
Once he could see, he took off after her.
Her laughter made her a slower than usual target as she stumbled through a snow drift.
He caught her and pinned her to the ground.
"Now Thomas," she said between giggles, "remember how much I lo--" she squealed when he put snow down the back of her shirt.
They wrestled a bit to try and gain the advantage over the other before they collapsed beside each other in laughter.
Thomas didn't even bother to check to see if they were in view of any of his family before he leaned over and kissed her.
Some moments, he reminded himself, were too perfect to let pass.
*****************
The more Thomas thought about it the more he wanted this lie to become the truth. The days leading up to Thanksgiving were filled with unexpected sweet moments. His parents encouraged the two younger couples to feel free to go out as often as they wished, offering many romantic destinations as possibilities.
Amanda eagerly dragged Thomas through the small town. Each kitschy shop they discovered was explored with him teasing her throughout the excursion. She would laugh and quip back with something that would make him chuckle.
It seemed natural now to keep his arm around her as they walked or simply hold her hand.
And she continued the affectionate kisses and hugs even when they were alone.
"You never know who knows your parents and if they are watching on their behalf." She told him one time when she pulled him into a romantic kiss under a covered bridge.
He pressed her against the wall to deepen it. He inwardly smiled over the slight jolt of surprise she gave before wrapping her arms around his neck.
He decided on the third night sleeping next to her that the clearest path forward for making this a reality was to show her how good things could be between them.
So he began to flirt more with her to charm her into his arms. He hoped that when it was all said and done, that it would be enough.
*****************
"It's nice to finally see you happy." His mother told him the night before Thanksgiving. "I've been worried for years that you might let the opportunity pass you by."
Thomas paused in his pursuit of a DVD to take upstairs to bed. "What opportunity?"
Susan's chuckle was a bit sad. "Before I met your father, I focused every aspect of my life into becoming a landscape photographer." Her eyes darted toward a wall that held some of her stunning shots of their old home in Oregon along with trips they had taken as a family of four. "I had plans to take my art around the world."
Thomas eased down in a chair across from her. "I didn't know that."
She shrugged while looking back down at her wedding rings. "I met your father when he wandered into a shot I was taking." Her lips curved in fond memory. "He was lost hiking through the Adirondacks and had his nose buried in a map. Richard apologized once he realized what he had done. Then he sat down beside me as I waited on sunset, telling me everything about himself." She looked up at her son. "I thought he was some nut I had unfortunately stumbled upon."
Thomas chuckled at the thought. It sounded like something his father would do.
"He was so," his mother's smile glowed, "warm." She shook her head in disbelief. "There I was being standoffish with my one word responses, and he was simply happy being with me. I had never met anyone like him before."
Thomas felt stunned. He realized that he was more like his mother than he thought as she continued her story about thinking her photography would be her true passion in life.
"The men I had dated before were all well and good, but not enough to make me want to remain here or anywhere for long." She continued. "But Richard Hunt changed all that." She rolled her eyes over her past actions. "I fought it in the beginning, keeping him as a friend. But then, one night I finally saw that he was everything to me. He took over my need to devote every moment to photography. He showed me I could have so much more."
She met her son's steady gaze. "I hope I'm not out of line, but I think Amanda has become that for you too."
Thomas stood up and pressed a kiss goodnight to his mother's forehead.
"I think you might be right." He told her on his way upstairs.
*******************
Thanksgiving morning...
"Dad!" Rachel crumbled up a piece of paper and threw it at him. "You know it is tradition that we do this!"
Richard readjusted his glasses with a foolish grin. "I'm well aware of that, angel. But you know I'll end up writing you each the same thing I do every year. Why waste more paper with my lack of creativity?"
Stephen scratched his chin before leaning over to peek at what Rachel had written.
"Stephen!" She squealed, snatching her paper away. "You keep this up and you won't get a letter from me."
Amanda couldn't help but smile at the couple's playful argument as Stephen tried to see what his wife was most thankful for. She then focused on Thomas steadily writing his own notes to each of them.
Her heart stuttered over what she herself had written to him.
She just didn't know if she could give it to him.
*******************
That evening, Thomas paused when Amanda came out. His eyes drifted down the hunter green dress she had decided to wear. Not thinking about how she would take this, he slipped his hands around her waist, feeling the soft cashmere mixed with her warm body while she put a necklace on.
She looked back over her shoulder at him. Her smile was a bit strained as he kissed her cheek.
"Ready?" She asked, gripping her skirt.
He wondered at her odd mood as he followed her downstairs. If he didn't know better, he would swear she was nervous. That couldn't be possible. She had been nothing short of the perfect guest for his family. Her calm, easy going demeanor meshed well with each of them.
He knew his sister and brother-in-law adored her. His parents had both gone out of their way to get to know more about her, each spending one on one time with her. He could tell that they were thrilled with the thought that they could possibly end up with Amanda as a daughter-in-law.
When they reached the bottom of the stairs, she abruptly turned around to face him.
His brow furrowed over how pale she had become. It was as if she was terrified of something.
"Amanda, what--" he gripped her close when she slammed her lips into his.
This kiss was so different from the previous ones they had shared. There was no tenderness. No simple joy. It was one of desperation, of a need that nearly made his knees buckle.
She released him with a shaky breath. Her lips were parted as if she wished to say something. Shaking her head to clear it, she took his arm and calmly walked into the dining room.
As was tradition, they dined by candlelight. The conversations delved from the serious events happening in the world to the sharing of humorous stories. Thomas's attention drifted every few moments to the woman sitting across from him.
He would catch her staring at him, then blushing over having been caught. Though something was different, she continued to sparkle as she took part in discussions. He didn't know what to make of it all.
He wondered if he should keep her from reading the note he'd written to her or not.
"Would anyone like thirds?" Richard teased. He eyed his son-in-law. "Or fourths?"
"Give me a few minutes." Stephen patted his stomach. "And fourths and fifths will be eaten."
"Can we do the thankful notes now, please?" Rachel asked.
Susan handed her the basket that held them.
Thomas and Amanda both stiffened in alarm as Rachel passed them out.
She smiled over the familiar handwriting as she handed Amanda the one from Thomas.
Some from the rest of them were handed to her before going to Thomas.
Amanda nearly rose from her chair when her note was given to him. She bit down on her bottom lip then lowered her eyes to the letters in her hand.
"Shall we take these to the den?" Richard asked.
He took Susan's hand, pulling her close as they led the way out.
Rachel and Stephen followed them out, already tearing into their letters.
Thomas and Amanda remained seated at the table. They avoided looking directly at one another.
"We should," he cleared his throat," we should probably join them."
"Yes, of course." Amanda mumbled. "Please, go on. I'll be in there shortly."
Thomas hesitated, then did as she wished.
Once out in the hallway, he tore into the one from her. He stilled as he took in her confession and apology. In a state of disbelief, he reread it all to make certain he truly understood it. The last paragraph had him rushing back into the dining room.
Thomas, I know it was wrong of me to take advantage of your situation. But, us as a couple is something I've wanted for so long. I couldn't resist being with you as your "love", even if it was for a brief time. I never pretended my feelings or actions with you. Every word, every kiss, every touch I've done has come from my heart. I swear I will never bring my feelings up again and will settle for simply being your friend once we leave here. The reason I'm telling you this is because I couldn't keep up my lie of doing this as "your friend." So for the first and the last time, I love you and hope you can forgive me. I am so grateful to have had this time with you.
"Amanda!" He stopped and stared at her.
She was gripping the back of her chair with one hand while his letter trembled in her other hand. Amanda raised her tear filled eyes up to him.
"You?" She whispered in disbelief. "You fell in love with me?"
"I think I always have been." He held her letter up. "I can't believe you never hinted nor said anything."
A laugh escaped her lips. "I assure you that it hasn't been easy."
They took a hesitant step forward then rushed into each other's arms. Thomas tenderly cupped her face as his lips sought hers. Amanda held handfuls of his blazer to keep him near as she returned his kiss with all her heart held for him.
Their smiles were nearly identical in both relief and wonder that their feelings were returned when they parted.
"I suppose this makes me your real Thanksgiving date this year." She teased.
He shook his head. "You already were my real date for this year's gathering." He pressed another kiss to her lips. "This makes you the only one I will ever want for every holiday we have for the rest of my life."

Curious what you're feeling inspired to write next! Any WIPs you're thinking of continuing? Or new ideas or drabbles or thots you're thinking of? Would love to hear what creativity your noggin is brewing next...or maybe you want to take a well-deserved breather for a bit! 🥰 Wednesday is approaching and I have been thinking of you! I still haven't gotten over Starman ending...I shall have to ponder an ask or two about our beloved Ezra and Vive in the future, I got so attached to them! 🥹.
Oooo thank you for the ask my lovely! I am actually working on finishing an ask from @galacticgraffiti for my 500 followers celebration which I started and then meandered away from toward Starman. Hoping to put it up today or tomorrow 😊 but if you have a scene for Ezra and Vive that you especially want to see, please send it my way!
I do have several other pans on the boil right now and yesterday I had a new Din fic pop into my mind after FINALLY getting around to reading Stitches by the extremely talented @djarinsbeskar which I had been meaning to read for literally about a year 😅 Rachel's wonderful descriptive writing inspired me tbh.
I'm also inspired to continue with my Joel Miller fic and I have @she-devil-jones to thank for that. Her fic The Thirteenth Hour is a masterclass in horror and suspense and makes me want to get down and dirty into the depths of TLOU gore again. I've reread it several times now and love it!
Annnnd I desperately want to finish Fugitive before I start anything else tbh. It was the first fic I ever wrote and published and I feel like I've learnt so much since I began it. It's time to finish it 😊

3,333 Followers Celebration
So as a celebration to reaching 3,333 followers, I will be taking fic requests (it may take a while for me to answer them, but I will!) Thank you guys sm for this! It really means a lot. Ily all!
And now, you may ask me, “Rachel? Aren’t these the prompts from your 2,222 Celebration, and your Pride Parade Challenge?” And to that, I would have to say, yes. Yes, they are. (With a few bonus ones).
Yes, I may also have a bunch more fics to finish. But that’s neither here nor there. I won’t tell, if you don’t.
The fics will be anywhere from 500-700 words, sometimes less, sometimes more.
I will write for:
Men: Platonic
Women: Platonic and romantic.
Rules:
1-4 prompts per person.
Please specify if you want fluff, angst, etc. (I don’t feel like I’m the best at smut. So be wary of that). If you do not specify, the default will, almost always, be humour.
Don’t ask for gross stuff, like rape and shit, bc duh.
That’s it!
(All but #31 are my own original quotes :))
1. “I just spent the past four hours watching various cheese videos on Youtube.”
2. “I don’t know why I agreed to go on a date with you.” “You were drunk at the time.”
3. “Do I look like an idiot to you?” “Yes. Did you seriously believe I didn’t think so?”

8. “How many times have I told you not to do shit like this?” “I don’t know. At least three.”
9. *Snapping on dishwashing gloves* “Next patient, please.”
10. *Cocks gun* “I love you.”
11. “Please don’t look at me.” “Why not?” “It decreases my sanity.”
12. “What do we do?” “Cheeseburgers?” “About the mission, (Name).” “Oh… fire?”
13. “That’s gay.” “We’re gay.”
14. “IIIIII’m off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of-!” “Shut the fuck up!”
15. “There are so many bullets.”
16. “I need a break.”
17. “What was that sound?” “Maybe it was a ghost.” “… why do you have to do that?”
18. “What are you doing?” “Well, I thought I was (Blank), but I could be wrong.”
19. “How much do you think I could get for my kidney?”
20. “BLASPHEMY!”
21. “Hey, “ “If you quote another vine at me, I’ll stab you with a fork.”
22. “I woke up this morning and all I wanted to do was kiss you.”
23. “I want a divorce.” “… but we’re not even married.” “And whose fault is that?”
24. “Hey, do you hear that?” “Yeah, its me sleeping.”

correspondences for quercus virginiana “southern live oak”
I also discuss characteristics of white oaks and live oaks in general, as well as brief remarks on quercus calliprinos “Palestine oak”
Interested in following along with the project? Check out my tag!
magical properties
These trees, being governed by Jupiter, are excellent allies for any work involving opportunity, prosperity, or protection. White oaks, in general, are good for any kind of work focused on expansion and have a noted protective quality. [1] Oak groves are known as being the meeting place of the druids but there are also notable groves that are sacred to northern Germanic deities, such as Thor. [2, 3] Due to its popularity in modern Celtic or Norse-influenced neo-paganism, doing any kind of serious research about oak can be challenging, many facts being traced back to ~Keltique~ fakelore popularized by Llewellyn in the ‘70s.
[Quercus virgiana from the National Wildlife Federation]
Focusing on my own traditions, oaks actually figure prominently in the Torah. The Hebrew word for oak is אלון alon, whose name ultimately originates in the word אל el, god. The oak is noted as a symbol of pride and loftiness in Jewish culture, and the most widely dispersed oak in Israel is quercus calliprinos, the Palestine oak, which is a live oak! [4] Two of the most prominent oaks noted in the Torah are the אלון מרה alon moreh, the Teaching Tree of Abraham and the אלון בכות alon bachut, the Weeping Tree of Rachel.
Following the stories of the Teaching Tree (and supported by my own experiences) live oaks make particularly encouraging teachers and, if given the chance, will sometimes bond to family lines and cultivate the descendants of their original students. A drosh teaches that Devorah the Judge mediated under this same Weeping Tree and was delivered a message from one of her ancestors, who had been buried below the tree 500 years earlier. [5] To compare it to earlier trees we’ve met in this series, where Juniper holds the keys to the gates of the underworld, Oak shows the path to one’s holiest ancestors.
Furthermore, Canaanites (both Jewish and non-Jewish alike) engaged in worship of Asherah, whose idols were said to be found in the shadows “under every green tree.” One of the trees specifically mentioned is the oak, where young women made offerings of incense and had sex (perhaps for fertility rituals...or perhaps just for fun). [6]
Daniel Shulke discusses oak in Viridarium Umbris, where he calls it the “Door unto Spirit” and notes that its wood seems to be imbued with a particularly holy quality. In folk magic, nails are often driven into trees to access this power (though Shulke urges practitioners to instead enchant fetishes and hang them from the branches of the tree to prevent potentially poisoning the tree), and also brings up an association between oaks and sex or marriage.
[The Étienne de Boray Oak, also known as The Tree of Life, in Audobon Park, New Orleans by Bridget Stanga]
on acorns:
Shulke notes that they prevent lightning (recall their association with Thor) and can be carried on the person as a sexual talisman. And, for some personal gnosis, a teaching circulated quietly in my family is that carrying a live oak acorn into a job interview gets you the job (so far it has worked for me many times). Live oak acorns make great bases for talismans and attract luck, success, wealth, and power. They are a powerful ally for teachers, public speakers, and anyone else who needs their requests to be followed or just needs a little more luck (especially in a material sense).
physical properties
Live oak is a term that refers to any evergreen oak, but conventionally it usually refers to quercus virginiana, the southern live oak, which is one of the white oaks. The oak genus, quercus, is in the Fagaceae, the beech family. The oaks seem to love a clinger-on—European oaks are famous for their mistletoe, a semi-parasitic plant, while no live oak is complete without its "moss” (really an epiphyte). In the southeastern USA (where live oaks are a more prominent cultural symbol) the trees are often festooned with curtains of Spanish moss. Around here, the farthest western part of their range, the humid canopy of a live oak is decked out with ball mosses.
The live oak is native to the maritime forests that spring up along the edges of salt marshes all along the coast of what is now called the USA, stretching from central Texas to Virginia before colonization. Live oaks are particularly well-adapted to living on the marshy edges of these forests. This is where one of the most striking physical characteristics of the live oak derives: its branching trunk, which allows trees to spread in several directions at once. While this originally allowed them to reach out over water where other trees couldn’t reach, today most live oaks are grown inland where their trunks spread in every direction, creating very striking displays. [7] Today, virtually all of these forests have been destroyed by colonialism, but the live oaks have taken advantage of us, becoming a celebrated shade tree, leading to their prevalence in cities all across the southern USA and expanding their naturalized range to include most anywhere free of deep freezes and fire in North America. Third Thursday events and exhibitions for September 16
The next Third Thursday — the monthly evening of art in Athens, Georgia — is scheduled for Thursday, September 16, from 6 to 9 p.m. All exhibitions are free and open to the public. This schedule and location and hours of operation information for each venue is available at 3thurs.org.
Georgia Museum of Art, University of Georgia
Yoga in the Galleries, 6 p.m. — Join us via Zoom for a free yoga class surrounded by works of art in the galleries. Led by instructors from Five Points Yoga, this program is free and open to both beginner and experienced yogis. This program is available both in-person and via Zoom. Email [email protected] to reserve an in-person spot or join us on Zoom.
Film Series: The Crime of Art: “Stolen,” 7 p.m. — It was the most expensive art heist in American history. In March 1990, two thieves disguised as Boston police officers gained entrance to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and successfully plundered $500 million worth of art. Among the 13 priceless works stolen were Rembrandt’s “The Sea of Galilee” and Vermeer’s “The Concert,” one of only 35 of the master’s surviving works. Filmed 16 years after the heist, the film raises a new magnifying glass to this crime, following the renowned art detective Harold Smith as he pursues the mystery of the stolen works. With Smith as a guide, it journeys into the mysterious and surreal world of stolen art and examines the many possibilities as to where the art might be today. 2005, NR, 85 min. This film series is presented in conjunction with the exhibition “Kota Ezawa: The Crime of Art” and is sponsored by the UGA Parents Leadership Council.
On view:
“Inside Look: Selected Acquisitions from the Georgia Museum of Art” — With more than 21,000 objects in its collection, the museum cannot show everything all the time. This exhibition features new gifts and purchases across our curatorial departments that have filled critical gaps in the permanent collections.
“Kota Ezawa: The Crime of Art” — This exhibition brings together new and recent works related to Ezawa’s “The Crime of Art” series, a group of light boxes and video animations that chronicle some of the most infamous and high-profile museum heists in history.
“Neo-Abstraction: Celebrating a Gift of Contemporary Art from John and Sara Shlesinger” — “Neo-Abstraction” highlights the resurgence of abstract art among contemporary artists, drawing from a recent major gift
“In Dialogue: Artist, Mentor, Friend: Ronald Lockett and Thornton Dial Sr.” — This exhibition focuses on one work by each artist, both gifts from Ron Shelp, comparing their approach to their work and examining the shared relationship that sustained their creativity.
“Whitman, Alabama” — This ongoing documentary project by filmmaker Jennifer Crandall brings Walt Whitman’s words to life through the voices of modern-day Alabama residents.
“Contemporary Japanese Ceramics from the Horvitz Collection” — This exhibition presents Japanese pottery and porcelain created by three generations of master ceramic artists. Made with both ancient and modern materials and methods, their works are exceptionally diverse. They share the exceptional craftsmanship and sophisticated design characteristic of Japanese contemporary ceramics.
“Power and Piety in 17th-Century Spanish Art” — Works by premiere Spanish baroque painters such as Francisco de Zurbarán, Bartolomé Murillo, Pedro Orrente and others, on loan from Bob Jones University Museum & Gallery.
“Modernism Foretold: The Nadler Collection of Late Antique Art from Egypt” — An extraordinary assembly of Coptic objects dating from the 3rd to the 8th century CE belonging to Emanuel and Anna Nadler.
The museum’s days of operation are Tuesday – Sunday. Reserve a free ticket and see our policies at https://georgiamuseum.org/visit/.
The Porcelain and Decorative Arts Museum at the Center for Art and Nature
The Porcelain and Decorative Arts Museum at the Center for Art and Nature at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia will be opening its doors for timed ticket access (https://botgarden.uga.edu/porcelain-and-decorative-arts-museum-timed-access-now-available/). The newest building at the garden holds the personal porcelain and decorative arts of Deen Day Sanders, a longtime supporter of the State Botanical Garden. The space is designed to draw environmental and conservation connections to the collections in the museum.
Eight different gallery spaces blend conservation, botanicals, art, beauty and curiosity. Adjacent to the building is the Discovery and Information Garden, where visitors can connect to the living botanical collection that is represented in many of the porcelain works in the museum. Please join staff and docents for a time in the Porcelain and Decorative Arts Museum to develop your own ideas on art and nature and become inspired to see the natural environment through the lens of the many artists on display.
ATHICA: Athens Institute for Contemporary Art
ATHICA@675, Pulaski St., Suite 1200
“LIGHT: 2021 Juried Exhibition” — ATHICA’s annual juried exhibition features contemporary art in all media that explores or references light, which is found all around us, around our planet, and throughout art, nature, literature, science, society and language as a concept and a construct with many different connotations. Without light there is no color and art would not exist. Work was juried by guest juror Matt Porter, curator at the Morris Museum of Art in Augusta, Georgia.
ATHICA@CINÉ Gallery
“Remembering Chatham Murray and Her Art” — Works of the late, beloved Athenian and painter Chatham Murray, organized by her friends Charles Warnock, Juana Gnecco and Anne Sears and featuring 14 paintings that span six decades. A number of works in the exhibition illustrate Murray’s love of home and table. Favorite subject matter included the bounty of the garden and home interiors and exteriors, the latter inspired perhaps by her daily walks.
Lyndon House Arts Center
3THURS Artist Talk with Andy Cherewick & Jeffrey Whittle, 6 p.m. — Join the artists and Curator Beth Sale for a gallery walk-through and discussion about the works in the exhibition “I vs. Me.” Reserve your free ticket. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/artist-talk-jeffrey-whittle-and-andy-cherewick-tickets-168152154621
On View:
“Willow Oak Tree Exhibition with Guest Curator Abraham Tesser” — In honor of the willow oak tree that graced the lawn of the historic Ware–Lyndon House for over a century, this exhibition features works created with and inspired by the tree. Each of the participating artists received reclaimed wood from the tree to incorporate into a work of art.
“Inside Out: Expressing the Inner World” — Abstract paintings from a group of women artists working primarily in the Southeast.
“Modernist Sculptures from the Legacy of Loyd Florence” — Florence’s life was marked by a lifelong passion for aviation. He graduated in 1939 from the first civilian pilot training program, sponsored by the University of Georgia and served as president of Athens Aviation, which operated the Athens Airport in the early 1950s. Later in his life, he began making metal sculpture.
“Something I’ve Been Meaning to Tell You: Brian Hitselberger and Julie Wills” — For this exhibition, the artists worked independently in their respective studios while maintaining an active dialogue through correspondence and video conferencing.
“I vs Me: Andy Cherewick and Jeffrey Whittle” — Two beloved Athens artists’ paintings in one gallery.
“Arts Center Choice Award: A Lot More Than It Seems by David Froetschel” — With structures found at thrift stores and imagery taken from fiction, Froetschel balances between order and chaos, dreams and reality, imagining what could be and depicting “a lot more than it seems.”
“Window Works: AJ Aremu” — Using the banks of windows as a palette, AJ Aremu represents Black bodies in motion and states of repose. Their contemporary clothing blends with African patterns in Aremu’s exploration of the melding of cultures.
“Collections from our Community: Oscar’s Godzillas” — “I always admired the idea of something unbelievable and wonderful hidden out in the world. Godzilla holds a great example. It shows how small we really are as a species and how our actions have great effects.” – Oscar Justus
Lamar Dodd School of Art Galleries, University of Georgia
“Dawn Williams Boyd: Woe” — A series of textile works by the Atlanta-based artist that reflect a lifelong critique of social injustices and racial violence. Using scraps of fabric, needles, and thread as her tools, Boyd painstakingly “paints” the entire surface of her quilts, layer upon layer, cutting, sewing, endlessly repurposing, building the surface into a formidable, authoritative source that pulls no punches. The exhibition is organized by Daniel Fuller and will travel to the Everson Museum of Art, Syracuse, New York, and the Galleries at Sarah Lawrence College.
“Time at the Tableæ — Features the work of Dodd undergraduate students Alan Barrett, Alex Barrett and Massie Herlihy. In this intersection of performance, installation, ceramics and photographs, the artists hope to bring a better understanding of what it means to pursue and use ceramics in the ritual of our daily lives.
“Flex·i·ble Architecture: we’re not trying to be heavy, we’re trying to be light” — Dodd MFA candidate Rachel Seburn and Alberta, Canada–based artist Sarah Seburn created this exhibition that investigates materials and their malleability. The artists pull from architectural lineages as they create an installation that acts as a mock-up showroom, an investigation into a new kind of interior building that allows for floors and walls to sink, rock and tilt.
“Waste Creation” — Mickey Boyd, a Dodd MFA candidate, presents a collaborative exhibition with Max Yarbrough, an artist working and living in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The artists present a series of images and sculptures that explore how exponential growth equals exponential waste.

“Trevor Paglen: Vision After Seeing” — An exhibition of photographs and a video by internationally renowned artist Trevor Paglen explores an essential question at the heart of Paglen’s recent work: “Are vision and seeing the same thing?” Paglen investigates this question as it relates to the long history of technologies that have aided, and perhaps even eclipsed, the human eye.

“Davy Gibbs: ‘Empires’” — “Empire” is a word we associate with a powerful sense of place, with both glory and decay, rise and fall. The Deep South, if never quite an empire in the formal sense, has always been a land of little empires. Athenian Davy Gibbs examines this idea through photographs.
