i don't mean to rant on main but I saw a rly bad post about ""narcissistic abuse"" and I just need to scream into the Tumblr void for a minute. these thoughts r gonna be really scrambled and I'm probably saying things that have already been said before, my head hurts. rant under the cut

seeing ppl demonize specific disorders, especially personality disorders, irritates me so much.

seeing other trauma survivors be like "oh, I can say that these people are bad because I'm a survivor and if you silence me your silencing survivors!" NO??? that is NOT HOW THAT WORKS??? I'm sorry that you were abused, that is genuinely tragic and I hope you manage to heal and recover from it. but them having personality disorder/s is not the cause of their abusive actions.

I have experienced abuse from multiple people who had various different personality disorders and I can say that it is not that hard to not demonize every single person with them!! this person did not abuse me because they had a personality disorder. that's not how that works.

I will never claim that I was a victim of "narcissistic/NPD abuse" or "borderline personality/BPD abuse" because that is ableist. people should be judged off of their actions as an individual, not their neurodivergencies.

some ppl CLEARLY never took a basic algebra 1 class because some of these ppl don't know the difference between correlation and causation. just because, sometimes, these things co occur, does NOT mean one directly affects the other.

tl;dr, if u think things like "narc abuse" or anything of the likes is real, please get the fuck off my page and reanalyze ur own ableist thoughts.
