Shifters - Part 2

I realize it has been almost a whole year since I posted part 1. I did some experimenting to see if I could get it all into one post this time instead of having to do two separate posts. Hopefully the formatting goes through okay...

Also, this probably goes without saying, but this was all done pre-DT.

I could talk about my wolgraha ship for ages...

I actually have the entire timeline written down in a discord channel, and I intend to write it all out here at some point, but for now here is an abridged version:

(It's still very long, I'm so sorry)

R'alma and G'raha met during the CT expedition, same as game canon. What started as a fun and friendly rivalry quickly became a deep and firm companionship which had them on given-name basis by the end of the storyline. They bonded over their shared cultural experiences and the fact that neither of them had ever felt like they belonged properly within that culture. They were strictly platonic at this stage, however G'raha's departure after the World of Darkness incident hurt her deeply.

The next time they meet, G'raha is an old man and R'alma has changed form significantly for reasons that are largely unexplained until later. But he still recognizes her spirit, even though she doesn't recognize him at all until it is almost too late (this is a point of some embarrassment for her for quite some time). When she finally realizes who he is, she is confused and troubled by the budding feelings she had for the Exarch, as well as fearful that letting him get close to her will cause him to be put in danger like he was on Mt. Gulg. She almost lost him for a second time, and then a third, and feelings aside, he is a dear friend to her. And she will not lose him again, no matter what it takes.

Even if it means locking her heart away and denying that she feels anything toward him beyond friendship when he tells her that he's in love with her.

Endwalker is where their relationship truly begins to strain. Just before leaving for Sharlayan, R'alma's form changes again, this time under even more mysterious circumstances. But he's just as stubborn as he was before, possibly more so, and staunchly refuses to examine the growing feelings he has for G'raha as their first big adventure together gets underway.

Events in Garlemald push him over the edge, however, as he nearly loses G'raha yet again, and he blames himself for it. But he's having a harder and harder time keeping his feelings in check, and the other Scions have begun to take notice.

It isn't until Ultima Thule that a breakthrough is reached. R'alma realizes that keeping G'raha at a distance is just another form of losing him. A near-death experience of his own puts everything into a new perspective and he regrets not having been honest with his feelings.

After he's recovered from his extensive injuries, he makes good on his resolution and confesses. G'raha is elated -- over the course of every change and every difficulty, he's never stopped loving R'alma. They've been happily together since, and while I'm still working out what the course of their relationship and their canon looks like for the EW patches, they are definitely still together for 7.0 coming up.

Blessings of the Twelve

Spoilers for Myths of the Realm quests/raids.

After 6.5 has wrapped up, and after completing the trials of the gods, R'alma is granted three boons to ask whatever he will of them. As told by a third party...

A proper introduction to my other OC, Ar'lihn.

Mod sundering had me really worried about getting him back tbh, and I ended up accidentally enlisting my husband in several hours' worth of work over my birthday weekend, but he has been recovered (with a few minor adjustments). Look at how good my strapping baby boy looks!

Anyway this VN was the messiest one I've ever done. The scripting was very loose and vague, and because of that I ended up with several leftover shots. Here's a few.

Mine is a slow burn that I'm pretty much skipping over now that I've finally decided they're a couple lol. For the sake of clarity, R'alma used to be female.

So they got really close during CT, but in a very friendly rivals sort of way. They were definitely on given-name terms before the end of the raids. Then after Raha woke up in the AU future timeline, he fell for R'alma from collecting and reading stories of her journey. R'alma did not recognize him at first in ShB, and felt really bad about that, though she was starting to feel very close to the Exarch before the reveal.

After that, she felt like his seemingly single-minded devotion to her would make it inappropriate to start a relationship with him, so even though she was starting to have feelings for him, she buried them.

Through the events of EW, Raha proves himself a perfectly capable and independent individual, and after both nearly losing each other (and a lengthy lecture from Thancred) R'alma finally confesses his feelings and they begin Seeing Each Other. End of slow burn.

I have a Very Important question for all the wolgraha folks out there

What kind of relationship did your wol have with g'raha during CT, and how did that develop through shb and ew?

Please tell me your wolgraha stories, I am holding up the microphone and I'm very excited to hear y'all's stuff

R'alma lent her his favorite staff to help teach her about balance. It was icy, and grew cold to the touch, but their hands were warm on hers...
