[Colt Seavers x Actress!Reader]
Synopsis: In which a minor… stunt caused the meeting of the stuntman himself who always seemed too busy, too focused, and too far away {GIF Creds: fleursial}
WC: 1121
Category: Mega Fluff, Suggestive Ending?
Why is there still so little of Colt?? I don’t understand it 😭
『••✎••』
It wasn’t unusual for you to find yourself staring at Colt Seavers from across the set. You liked him, liked the mysterious presence he displayed. Sure, half of it was because you never had the courage to approach him, despite how friendly he was with the rest of the cast and crew, but he always seemed so busy. Plus, your character never needed to interact with the stunt crew so you didn’t have a reason to walk across the lot. And even if you had, your scenes wouldn’t have lasted more than a few minutes anyway.
However, when the very last scene of the day was called, everything changed for the better. You were moments away from leaving the set, having already said goodbye to almost everyone else, with the feeling you weren't going to see Seaver ever again.
Until he bumped into you, quite literally.
You let out a surprised gasp, almost dropping your script as you stumbled backward, but a pair of strong hands were quick to steady you by your arms.
"I am so sorry, miss… woah," he said as he looked down at you, taking in your face for the first time, his hands still resting on your upper arms. You felt yourself go red, suddenly unable to look him in the eye and instead opting for looking anywhere but.
"No, no, it was my fault; I should have watched where I was going," you said.
He shook his head and released his hold on you. "You’re… man, you are really beautiful," he said.
"What?" you asked, surprised.
"I mean—uh, you were really beautiful… out there! On set, you know," he corrected himself, and you swore you saw a faint blush form across his cheeks.
You bit your lip and finally found the courage to meet his gaze. "I appreciate the compliment."
"Yeah, no problem. How come I’ve never seen you around here before?" he asked, crossing his arms and tilting his head in curiosity.
That right there… it took everything in you not to melt right then and there. You could see the indentations of his biceps from under his tight-fitted jacket, the arm cross just amplifying them. It didn't help that you also just barely came up to his chest, which, while intimidating, also made him all the more attractive.
You swallowed thickly and averted your eyes. "Well, I never needed a stunt double, so…" you trailed off.
"Yeah, that’s fair. Totally get it, yeah." He clicked his tongue and nodded, looking away momentarily. Before you could turn to see what he was looking at, he squinted, looking back down at you. His hand peeled away from his arm to hover in front of you.
"Colt," he said, extending his hand. "Name's Colt Seavers… I’m kind of a big deal around here. You know, doing car crashing, rope climbing, cliff-diving stuff," he explained with a smirk.
You let out a small, quiet giggle as you reached for his hand, giving it a shake as you stated your own name. His hand was big, rough, and calloused, no doubt from years of hard work and training, but it was warm. A strong grip, but ever so gentle.
"I, uh, do the acting stuff." You repeated his words, and his smirk broke into a smile, one that nearly took your breath away.
It was then, looking at his smile, that you realized the opportunity before you.
You had to say something, had to tell him, and you weren't about to let this opportunity pass.
"I think you're pretty beautiful, too," you said, and that caught his attention, his eyebrows raising.
"You do?"
"Yes," you confirmed with a nod. "Out there… on set, I mean."
He let out a short laugh, his hands moving back to his pockets. He was sort of swaying, almost as if he wasn’t sure what to do, what to say. It was adorable.
Alright, you needed to do something. The fear of letting another moment like this go to waste was far too much. So many guys had slipped through your fingers because of your hesitance—a real shame, too, considering how most of them weren’t even remotely attractive.
But Colt, though…
"Listen, um… maybe I'm jumping the gun here, but would you like to—"
"Yes," his answer was nothing short of immediate. “Absolutely, yes… yeah hundred percent, yeah- yes… yes."
It took him a second, took him a long second, to realize you hadn’t even finished your question. His eyes went wide as fear evidently started to creep in.
"Shit, uh- sorry. Yeah, uh… yeah, I'm listening. You can keep going." He motioned with his hand for you to continue, and you had to suppress a smile.
Well, this is definitely promising.
"Maybe we could hang out sometime? Have dinner or something?" you suggested.
"Dinner, yeah- dinner is good. Dinner is… great. I love dinner. Dinner is, uh… dinner is great," he stammered, and you couldn't help but give him a small laugh, one that was cut off when his eyes went wide yet again.
"Sorry, I'm just… yeah, sorry, I'm just- I'm gonna… hey, can I get your number?" His question was followed by him digging into his pocket and pulling out his cell phone, which was cracked beyond belief. “Not so I can bother you or anything, not that I would- I mean unless you wanted me to bother you, I guess, which- no, sorry. Just, like, text you, I guess, yeah.”
Your eyes went wide at the state of his phone. "How does that even work?"
"I'm a pro. Just a quick swipe to the left and a few presses, and it works fine, see?" He tapped the screen a few times before opening his contacts, and he handed the phone to you. "Here."
"You know what? I'll just put it in my phone if that's okay," you said.
"Oh, yeah, yeah- absolutely," he said, nodding. "Whatever makes you feel comfortable, yeah."
You quickly punched in his numbers and sent a text, a small, simple message. One that escalated to where you were now, weeks after that dinner, his hands roaming your body as he pressed you against the door of your new and current trailer.
You should’ve known you weren’t going to run lines that day.
A stuntman running lines?
Yeah, right. He runs through scenes instead, and… this was definitely a scene.
God, how ready you were for that first take to start.

PLSS DO prompt 3 and 26 with Megumi 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽
my favs yes. yes. yes. also threw in 53 :3 3: Drunk/Sloppy Kiss 26: Jealous Kiss 53: Against A Wall Kiss
**aged up characters!!** ___
megumi didn't get jealous, to make one thing perfectly clear. it was a silly insecurity that he had no business to feel. especially seeing as you weren't his to be jealous of. you were your own person, you could talk to, flirt with, hang out with whoever you so pleased.
what was he supposed to do? walk over to where you were talking to one of yuuji's friends, tell you that you weren't allowed to talk to him, and whisk you off to ensure that for the rest of the night, your attention would be on him and only him? that was pathetic. no, worse, that was toxic.
but from his spot on the couch, he could see clearly through the crowd of people at this lame house party that you actually seemed... happy. whoever this guy was, you seemed to be enjoying yourself. smiling, laughing, leaning in close to hear what he had to say when the music got a little too loud. he took a swig of his drink, barely even wincing as the bitter liquid went down. he wasn't normally a drinker, he usually only came to these things because you asked him too.
(yuuji and nobara did too, but it was only when you'd latch onto his arm and tell him how much fun he'd have. you'd give him your best pouting face and it was actually quite terrible but he was so amused by it and so enamored by you that he'd give into anything you asked)
and now here he was, with a nearly passed out yuuji on the sofa behind him, nobara was off dancing with a bunch of strangers, and you were chatting with this... guy.
"hey," megumi gently prodded the side of yuuji's head until the boy's eyes fluttered, displaying at least a little consciousness. "who's that guy?"
"heh?" yuuji squinted one eye open, keeping the other closed for some semblance of darkness to sleep through.
the party was in full swing, with flashing colors from the led strips all around the house, the music blasting was heavy in bass, and anyone talking had to holler to hear one another. and yet, yuuji cursed megumi for disturbing his rest.
"that guy," megumi repeats, nodding his head to where you were. "who is that?"
"talking to (y/n/n)?" yuuji rubbed the back of his head as he tried to focus his vision on you. "woah, she likes him, huh?" he let out a whistle as he watched the way your body language said more than he needed to know.
megumi's teeth grit as he glared back at his friend.
"that's todd. or tom. might be tom. thomas sounds right," yuuji struggled to put a name to the guy's face, and shrugs his shoulders. "think we had a couple classes together. don't remember him much. think he was nice though"
"you think he was nice?" megumi's brows furrow in displeasure. he casts another glance towards you.
this time, you catch his gaze, and you send him a beam as your eyes meet, but the moment is short lived, as you're turning back to todd or tom.
"i dunno," yuuji yawned, stretching his arms about his head as he settled back into the couch cushion. "(y/n/n's) fine though. so if you're so jealous, you should probably just do something about it"
" 's not like that" megumi mumbles, deciding to turn around and face forward on the sofa so he didn't have to watch you flirt and be flirted with any longer.
"i think it's kinda like that" yuuji's head rolls to it's side so he can give his friend a look.
megumi frowns, but doesn't say anything else on the matter. he'd like to go home now, but he can't ditch any of you. so he figures it's a night of pouting on this couch with only alcohol to soothe him.
yuuji's head falls to his shoulder, and his soft snoring is audible.
alcohol and yuuji, he corrects himself mentally.
before he can get too lost in his bitter thoughts, a pair of hands plant themselves on his shoulders from behind, and he tilts his head back to see none other than you leaning over the back of the couch, grinning down at him.
"want me to save you?" you tease, eyes flickering over to the sleeping yuuji.
megumi smiles at how you even look pretty when he's looking at you upside down.
"please" he replies, and you sound the couch, only to gab him by the arm and insist he follow you.
"good, cause i missed you. i wondered where you went" you told him as he carefully got up in the hopes of not waking up your sleeping friend. you both chuckle as yuuji seemingly has no issue staying asleep.
you have a drink in one hand and the other is wrapped around megumi's elbow in order to keep him close while you guide him through the crowded house.
"what was this party for again?" megumi asks, tossing his empty cup into a trash as you walked past. there were countless cups among the mess of the floors already, but he just couldn't bring himself to abandon his trash like that, even if he was intoxicated.
"i think it was someone's birthday," you ponder as you pull him into the kitchen so you can both make a fresh drink. "originally, anyways," you continue as you shovel ice into two cups. "but word got around it was at a big house, someone said they could get booze, and now here we are"
you loosely gesture to the crowded, trashed space around you. talk about crashing a party, megumi thinks. he can smell the tobacco and pot in the air, and judging by all the trash on the ground, whosever birthday it was, would surely have one hell of a morning tomorrow.
when he looks back at you, you hand him one of the cups with a sweet smile, before taking the other for yourself.
"are you having a good time?" you ask, leaning your back into the counter as you take a tentative sip of your drink. it might've been a little stronger than your last, but you could use some liquid courage.
"yeah, one friend passed out on me and the others ditched me to go find hookups" megumi replied honestly.
you gape at him in mock offense.
"i did not go looking for a hookup!" you argue, smacking your free hand against his chest. "what made you think that?"
"i dunno, probably that guy you were flirting with" he replies. he's smirking at you partially because a blush is starting to bloom across your cheeks, but his lip twitches with some other emotion you don't recognize on him.
"ted?" you laugh, and megumi's brow furrows.
"so you admit to flirting with him?" he asks, raising his cup to take a long drink.
"i admit to no such thing!" you laugh at him while you shake your head. "i was friends with his sister in grade school, he was telling me about how she's studying abroad in france right now," you explain, before raising a brow at him. "not that i owe you an explanation," you add, leaning in closer to him and tilting your head. "but if you're so jealous you must know, that is all we talked about"
"tch," the alcohol in his system was strong enough that it gave him the confidence to hold your stare. "so he was flirting with you then?"
you pause for a moment, unsure of what to tell him. truthfully? yeah, ted tried to lay some lines on you. did you respond to it? no, but he wasn't a creep, and you didn't really care.
"maybe" you shrug a shoulder, your eyes locked on his, trying to read the odd expression he wore.
megumi had never shown any signs of jealousy. he'd never said anything to you to make you think it would bother him if you were flirting with anyone. and you did find it a little funny, because he was so irritated and reserved all the time that you didn't think he could feel pesky things like jealousy.
but on the other hand... it excited you.
megumi was clearly annoyed that you were giving your attention to that guy, and whatever his reasoning was, it had your heart racing with anticipation to figure it out.
"but it's a party," you speak again. "a lot of people come here just to flirt and find a hookup"
"that so?" megumi raises a brow at you.
so with a puff of your chest and a bright smile, you nod back at him.
"it is," you confirm. "in fact i think i'll go chat with him some more" you declare, and megumi rolls his eyes, calling your bluff.
but sure enough you're heading off towards ted again, a saunter in your hips and a gleam in your eye as you approach him. megumi stands in the kitchen, his hand tense around his drink, keeping a watchful glare on the two of you.
he can't hear what's being said, but he can read body language pretty well. so once you're giggling and laying your hand on ted's arm, he's decided he's had enough of the little charade.
next thing he knows he's throwing back the rest of his drink and stalking over to the both of you.
upon his approach you give him a pretty smile, but ted completely pales as he watches the taller, angry looking boy come to stand behind you, his hand wrapping around your hip and pulling you into him in one fluid motion.
"megumi!" you cheer as though you hadn't seen him all night. your eyes hadn't left him since he'd approached you, but he didn't notice. his eyes were too focused on ted.
he bore no expression, but somehow it was worse than a nasty glare. ted winced at your new company.
"megumi, this is ted," you introduce, pretending to ignore the awkward tension that had just been created. "ted, megumi" you finish, gesturing between them.
"uh, hi-" ted sticks his hand out in an attempt to be polite, or maybe just to diffuse the tension, but megumi's pulling you away without a word, leaving the man standing alone with his hand still outstretched.
his stride is fast as he practically drags you alongside him. you're not sure where he's taking you, but you don't protest in the slightest as you follow along.
"well i thought he was nice" you remark, a coy smile curling on your lips.
"you're being ridiculous," megumi mutters, finally stopping you both in a hallway that wasn't as crowded as the rest of the house, so you could at least hear each other speak. "is that why you wanted me to come? so you could walk around and- and-"
"make you jealous?"
you lean back against the wall, folding your hands behind your back as you grin up at him.
"i'm not jealous" megumi rolls his eyes.
"you dragged me off like you were jealous" you shrug nonchalantly.
"well i wasn't"
"and if he gave me his number?" you tested, tilting your head at him challengingly. "would you still not be jealous?"
"he didn't" megumi replies as casually as he could.
"but if he had?" you ask, leaning on the tips of your toes to be closer to him, just to make your point. you watch as his eyes flicker between your own, then down to your lips, then back to your eyes.
he turns to look away, but just to his luck, there's ted, standing just across the room, and his eyes are perfectly glued to you. that is, until they see megumi's caught him red handed, and suddenly he's interested in the floorboards.
megumi scoffs, shaking his head, before looking back down to you.
you're still trying to be a tease, and he's about had enough of this whole party.
his hands are firm as he places them against the wall on either side of your head, leaning over you and caging you in quickly, just to make his point.
your eyes are wide now as you watch him, curious to see what he'd do next, your heart racing in your chest.
"he's still watching you," he mutters, lowly, and with more bitterness than you've ever heard him speak with before. your brows crinkle, starting to feel just a little bad for upsetting megumi this much.
you thought it'd be fun to mess with him just a little, maybe in the hopes of getting him to flirt with you a little bit, but you'd never imagined he'd react like this.
"you're here with me, and he's still got his eyes on you"
you offer him a small smile at his words, and then you're reaching out to him, your arms hanging loosely over his shoulders, before you bring your hands into his hair. your movements are slow as you begin to curl an unruly strand of hair around your fingers.
you draw closer to him, so close your nose almost collides with his, and your breathing is a little shaky against his lips before you speak.
"and i'm here with you" you repeat his words back to him softly.
megumi's eyes flicker between yours wildly, as this was completely new territory for the two of you. in a huff, he turns his head to see if your shadow is still lingering across the room, but you're quick to take hold of his chin between your thumb and forefinger, turning his attention back to you.
he licks his lips nervously.
once you're the center of his focus again, a small smile lifts on your lips, before you're tilting forward and capturing his lips in a soft kiss.
it's quick, over just as soon as it began, but it leaves him bewildered, wide eyed as you pull away and stand flat again. only a second passes before he's seizing forward to kiss you again, his hands coming off the wall to hold the back of your head, fingers tangling into your hair as your lips meet his passionately, and a bit drunkenly.
you forget your surroundings completely as you pull him against you until your back is against the wall and he's completely pressed into you. still, you continue to tug and pull him closer as your lips map each other out sloppily. you're panting in between them, both of your hands flying about, wanting to touch and grab at every part of each other you could reach.
had you been sober, you would have been so embarrassed by this public display, but the thought doesn't even cross your mind. in fact, you hum in utter delight as megumi eventually wraps his hands under your thighs, and lifts you against the wall so that you were at an even height with him, making it easier to kiss you. ithe house may have been stuffy, but his body is hot against yours in a way you enjoy just a little too much.
"i didn't know you got so jealous," you sigh out while megumi unashamedly begins to kiss down the column of your throat. "we should-" you're cut off by your own lack of your breath as his mouth works delicately over the full explains of your throat. "we should go to parties more often"
"absolutely fucking not" megumi mutters into your skin, but he seems to relax again as you comb your hands into his hair, tilting his head back and admiring how swollen his lips look.
you smile at him lazily before you're drawn together like a magnet and your lips are crashing together again. your hands are moving so wildly through his hair it's somehow more messed up than normal, and you both delight in the feeling.
"oh shit," a familiar voice snaps you both out of your lust-blinded haze, and you release megumi's bottom lip from your teeth with an audible pop! as you both turn to see nobara standing (well, staggering) before you.
she let's out a giggle of amusement, her eyes crinkling and her grin drunken.
"i didn't know you guys were together?" her words are slurred, but she doesn't seem all that shocked, or weirded out to catch her friends furiously making out with each other.
"uh... surprise?" you say weakly, adjusting one of your legs around megumi's hip to get more comfortable.
nobara nods, and gives you wobbly thumbs up.
"yuuji's asleep on the lawn," she tells you the reason she'd come looking for you both. "i'm gettin' us water and snacks for the walk back. meet out there in ten?"
"uh," megumi blinks rapidly to try and clear his mind enough to understand the new information and plan. "yeah, yeah that's fine"
"a'ight, see you out there lovebirds" nobara clicks her tongue and then disappears in search of the sustenance.
you and megumi turn back to each other, frozen for a moment before breaking out into grins and laughter.
"so, ten more minutes?" you suggest.
"yep"
his grip under your legs tightens as your lips meet again, this time even more hurried than the last, since you had a passed out friend to carry home soon. ___

Tsukutabe Comic and Drama: Compare & Contrast [Opinion]
This was an idea inspired by something @poisonbat said to me on Bsky. Think of it as a bonus to the Superlatives from the past three days~
...Am I really pitting Comic against Drama here? Well, not quite. This essay is more about my opinion on each version of "She Loves to Cook, and She Loves to Eat." Specifically, what parts do I like more from each iteration and if there's one that seems to edge itself as "Best Version?" Well, let's find out, shall we? Oh, and this essay will just focus as far as the drama got, that is, Chapter 40 of the comic. I won't take anything past that into consideration (even if I have been up-to-date with the Japanese releases lol)
Tumblr media
Woah...w-waitaminute, VERSUS?! This was just supposed to be the meeting of universes! What's going on???
The Basic Story
So, this is a story about two women. Neighbors, in fact. One loves to cook as a hobby (Nomoto) while the other really enjoys eating as a deep experience (Kasuga). However, both have some issues with their passion. Nomoto keeps getting pressured by societal standards of what it means to be a woman who loves to cook while Kasuga's love for eating does have an unfortunate side effect of being judged by others, especially her large portion sizes and how emphatic she eats. These two women are completely different in personality and overall vibes and yet...food brings them together. So together, in fact, they even start falling in love with each other! Their first experiences in romance, navigating that while also dealing with a society that definitely gives women the short end of the stick, even more if you're lgtbq+. And yet, there's always a glimmer of hope, an appreciation for "The Small Pleasantries" in life. They even befriend two other gals and form a sisterhood! Such a wonderful story...
And Here's the Fork in the Road
Two paths now stand in front of you - one path leads to the comic universe's specific traits while the other leads to the drama's. This split happens basically upon Episode 1 of the drama, as we see both Sayama and Fujita be silently introduced there, two characters only in the drama. The split is more spread out the farther you go, too, especially once we start Season 2 of the drama. That's definitely where things begin to be adapted into their own interpretation of the world. Perhaps having 20 episodes to play with this time played a part? Who knows~
And yet, the paths still lead to the same location.
Okay, so let's break this down into segments - story arcs, supporting cast, and then, the personalities of Nomoto and Kasuga themselves
STORY ARCS (or, how each version tackled certain things)
In the comic, the arcs are a little vague. Many of the in-between chapters have a general slice-of-life thing going on until you realize, oh wait, there's this theme again from the last chapter. From what I can tell, there's about six story arcs (that I can cover here): Introductions, Friendship, Christmas/Nomoto's Self-Discovery, Kasuga's Family, Valentine's/Confessions, Apartment Hunting. And at least two of these are blurred together in the comic! (Valentine's stuff starts in the middle of the Kasuga's Family arc). There are also two subplots once we hit Vol 3, in order to learn more about the ladies' new friends, Yako and Nagumo.
These arcs are more well defined in the drama, as the schedule helped kind of keep some of the arcs within a week's worth of material. The drama also did some unique things to create their own weekly arcs - use the source material, yeah, but they padded it out with some fleshed out scenarios and even two completely original stories (like, the Setsubun episode did have some of the Nagumo backstory in it from the comic, but Episodes 25-26 have completely new material). It also helped that it was airing during certain holidays (Christmas/New Year's, Setsubun, and Valentine's) so they took advantage of that. Of course, they moved some chapters around to fit this set-up, but they still managed to make it work in their new spots (ex. Curry Party now takes place after Confession).
As I said, S1 is pretty much a Christmas movie and is faithful to Volumes 1 and 2 of the comic (with a few improvisations), but Season 2 has 5 different arcs going on!
Week 1: Reacquaintances and Some New Faces (and Voices) Week 2: Orientation Journey/Kasuga's Family Week 3: Valentine's/Confessions Week 4: New Couple Baby Steps Week 5: Apartment Hunting
In regards to subplots, they are much much smaller compared to the comic's insights into Nagumo and Yako's lives, but they help flesh out Nomoto and Kasuga's journey. More emphasis is put into Nagumo's subplot compared to Yako's, but then we also have subplots with Sayama and Fujita, the two new characters I mentioned. They are both straight cis women - Sayama is basically the "straight ally" character for Nomoto to be able to talk to, back when the drama staff were unsure if they'd even get picked up for a second season (where Yako would appear). In Season 2, she gets a personal development via the pressures of dating and getting married as she is still young but of course, that lingering pressure still exists to this day. Fujita is less prominent, but that's due to Kasuga's work habits. She is a woman who works at one of the supermarkets Kasuga is assigned to and just kind of forms a positive acquaintanceship with her. She actually bridges a gap regarding Kasuga's family situation, providing proof that she's not alone on her thoughts about being restricted to old-fashioned family roles. Her particular story ends in a divorce, but she views it as the next page in her life's journey, which Kasuga thoroughly respects and provides vocal support.
Oh, and I guess there's also that overarching subplot of Nomoto helping with the development of that app with her colleagues. It's a very quiet thing going on throughout the season, though, just giving us chances to see Sayama's journey since she is just a coworker and that's the only way we'd really see the development.
The comic has a more comedic vibe than the drama, though the drama does have its funny moments. On the other hand, the drama is very subdued...gentle. This is probably a result of its time slot - night dramas tend to be "winding down" stories for folks as they settle down for bed. This does affect how some of these stories get told. The confession scene in both are so drastically different! And it really comes down to what you just find more relatable or what vibes with you the most (for me, the comic's take on the confession is best, but then in terms of the "consent" theme, aka when they have their First Kiss...I love the drama's take more).
SUPPORTING CAST (interpretations and what purpose they served in the story)
The comic has a very small cast. The idea is to focus on the sisterhood that has developed over time. These are four queer women who never fit in anywhere else and found a family of sorts through the power of food (yes, even Nagumo! She doesn't have to eat with these ladies, but she can still hang out with them in her own way, and they understand her limitations). This of course, creates a more queer/found-family-focused story, which may alienate some people who came in thinking it was literally going to be a tale about food. But it didn't alienate me~ I just love it even more lol. But it tries to keep it simple, too, so cishet readers can begin to understand these ladies and what they've gone through (or are going through). If they want more info, actually, Vol 4 provided a list of sites for further reading, which was really neat.
The drama, on the other hand, decided to double down on the Women's Experiences in Society aspect. So we got the four from the original story, but then we also have Sayama and Fujita, as stated before...then we even get tertiary characters like the Chinese employee, Ko, who actually got a brief spotlight in one episode via an interesting lunch convo with Nomoto and Sayama... and we even have a calm and understanding/respectful guy named Mikami who never belittled Nomoto and Sayama as they worked with him with that app project...Just to remind folks there are some good men out there.
One downside, though, was how Nagumo and Yako were portrayed in the drama. Nagumo is anxiety kitten, yes, but she is really subdued in the drama. So meek, so shy. She doesn't even evolve to address everyone else by their first names! And Yako's passionate rage moments? Gone. But I always figured that was due to, again, the type of show this was built to be. Maybe if it was a primetime drama instead...
NOMOTO AND KASUGA (There are differences!)
This is probably the big reason why I personally draw for both versions of Tsukutabe: There really are slight differences in the main ladies themselves, and I don't mean just by their physical appearances alone! Though you gotta admit, the live-action versions are pretty dang close (and honestly, I think Yuzaki-sensei saw something in Kasuga's appearance in the drama that she has even tweaked Kasuga's design in the most recent chapters, heh)
At their core, Nomoto is a woman who is ambitious yet anxious, she's an ambivert (definitely prefers to focus on herself at work but can talk to friends in a very extroverted way) with her heart on her sleeve. We know if she's happy, sad or worried and has trouble hiding anything for long. Kasuga, meanwhile, is introverted, tends to keep her thoughts to herself but is a very kind and considerate woman (like when she reminds Nomoto to eat/don't just drink and listening to Nagumo about her own situation). It really feels like she doesn't have a mean bone in her body.
The basic personalities are still there in the drama, but, again, as we move into Season 2, stuff starts to shift. I personally think it's due to the chemistry Higa and Nishino had been developing ever since Season 1. Just from stuff I've read, they would say they'd start to talk to one another more often to see how they should tackle a specific scene, and I'm pretty sure there's a decent amount of ad libbing involved in the show. Like, I even saw it in the foreword from the scriptwriter from the S1 DVD - some of the script is just vague enough that it's all about how the actresses end up reacting to the general directions. The commentary Nishino had over Episode 18 also implied that Kasuga was probably NOT supposed to really cry, but it happened anyway, but she only fought back enough where she thought Kasuga herself would and let it out in front of someone she trusted (Nomoto).
It's a really interesting thing to watch - it's still Nomoto and Kasuga, but somewhere there, we ended up with a more nurturing Nomoto who tends to take the lead conversationally (and is even more social than her comic counterpart since she has coworkers she voluntarily mingles with), and a Kasuga who is withdrawn a little (because her history with her family was brought out more and it's clear it really had affected her all this time), prefers to take the backseat, and has to learn how to open up and be (positively) selfish more often.
THE VERDICT
Again, this whole thing is just based on my thoughts and observations, and I still love both very, very much. But, I guess as I look back at what I wrote, there's definitely a clear "winner" here, and that is...the drama! It is definitely an amazing adaptation of the source material that expands the world of Tsukutabe without messing things up, like many adaptations accidentally do (or intentionally. There are some BAAAD ones). I think it helps that both the producer (name escapes me, though) and the scriptwriter (Yuri Yamada) were already fans of the comic, so they wanted to do it justice. And they definitely did~
But this isn't some beat-down. Nah, in this "match," the winners simply prepare the meal! (the losers missing out on an opportunity to do so, get it?)

metaphor re fanfasio live playthrough thoughts. spoilers
oh we going post modern meta narrative. I wonder what's up with more.
one race means there's harmony and no discrimination or conflict. Wow this is a fantasy story.
why did we need to go to the capital to get recruited into the guard to get deployed to where grius was why not just go directly to grius. Also this assassination plot sounds bad it's one dude with a knife. rip grius.
Well the demo is excellent in every way but that doesn't mean the rest of the game is good. Ffxvi.... I remember
If there isn't a cat/dog boy party member i'll riot.
The big face rock is the wildest government system.
Instead of just the sanctoress for the contest why not also bring the human corpse.
Going onto the deck of a rolling ship feels stupid what are you two even doing
All the characters are great so far but I'm falling in love with fidelio. Tsundere tiny big brother. He has puppy ears.
copied smtiv's homework, joking of course post apocalyptic modern past fantasy present is a common enough story premise. Whats the list at now for what this game is a fusion of: persona 5, etrian odyssey, smtiv (arguably v too).
How literal is that "hearts the source of magla" thing and how literal are the mechanical hearts. I wouldnt put it past the devs for everyone to be a robot.
something is happening with the parapus brothers. they are springing far too many flags and i got spoiled that basilio is a party member. if fidelio dies i'm quitting he's my favorite.
Louis is wayyy to important narratively to die this early. Probably. Uh the theater audience cant see the roof well. If eupha recalls the lance they'll know someone took it but not who. If you're going to give forden the lance anyways i dont see why bother appearing on stage. didnt do that good of a job telling how evil louis was could have given a better speech. SHOULD HAVE CHECKED LOUIS WAS DEAD YOURSELVES. Also that hooded guy is so sus. Forden think they're working for him but they also reported to louis about the party's actions. Uh also you lot never confirmed louis was the curse caster like could have confronted him during the fight. Like you all just vigilante killed the wrong man. Maybe.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Well rella puppet or not, and louis both seem better rulers than forden so I'm happy about him dying. forden law route vibes.
woah hulkenburg ready to kill. we really are just killing people willy nilly on the slightest suspicions. that's 3 asassination attempts and 2 of them were the wrong person.
there are so many sus things about the mc. like why doesnt russell know him. wouldnt be surprised if he and the prince were two halves of the same person. why does the prince have no name and there was that name input at the begining of the game. something up.
oh wait that's real, i was also thinking like twinsies or something. his humansona! his self insert character! I'm laughing so hard right now. this is really good thematically but i can't stop laughing
wow he really is just griffith. he's cosplaying a clemar. and louis chose to have bigger than average horns.
Havent been commenting too much because it's too good. One thing that bothers me is the timeline and prince's assassination attempt which happened like 12? Years ago. Rella and louis were said to be unusually young and i guess this is a jrpg but having like a 16 year old general feels a bit much. And if hulkenberg was a royal knight presumably she had some accomplishments and experience already before being promoted. Fidelio was already a trusted aide of louis (presumably with military accomplishments) before the assassination attempt. Anyways it just feels like the timeline is very tight and a number of people were in rather veteran positions despite being rather young. I suppose it's plausible much of the cast is in their early 30s. Fidelio's appearence is nonindicative of his age but a lot of the cast though feel 20s like stohl feels young, first venture as an adult and all. An easier solution really would have been to make the assassination attempt not that long ago say 6 years instead.
So not only is zorba gay he's also trans. Ok. Slay king choose your form.
louis chaos hero for real. Louis rizz off the charts.
He really is just lucifer now. Louis cyphre moment. Louis chaos route vs thorden law route. Bruh his magical girl transformation was just stripping. The only thing about this fight is that the music could have gone harder
There are so many shibuyas in this game. Because its already established that the modern world in in the past and this is post apocalyptic. Then there's more's book which i initially assumed was a nod to irl (like in kingdom hearts) but then was revealed to maybe be historically based. Now he's saying the game isn't real, should have used video footage like Eva rebuild did. We're fighting against the author. Who's also our dad while our mom supporting us. Dad's oc vs son's oc. outer space fight is cool but in the middle of shibuya like the yozora fight also would have been cool.
Ah there's the 2nd phase was kinda hoping for one. I wonder why both joy and mirth are there. Crucified hanging puppets that he's eating, 1 each to represent the tribes. (Which speaking of why dont the fairies count unless their origins are in pure magla like dragons instead of being mutated ancient humans like the tribes.)
Someone pointed out that if louis hadn't nullified the king's assassin magic he would have won the popularity contest
Yeeeaaaahhh... statesmanship.... you have 0 management or large scale leadership experience. 0 policy nothing concrete all vibes I would not have voted for him. Ah and there's the porkbarelling neopotism favoritism political appointments. Also his face was on a giant rock for months how does no one know it.
excellent game. good enough that i don't have many complaints which is why this is short i always right more when i have something to complain about. I ended up really liking all the parapus characters like catherina is so good hell yeah community organizing! she's actually doing the work.

Woah this Austin casting I’m shocked , with all these fans cast on Twitter the Stan’s we’re doing like : drew , elordi , Nicholas Chavez , copper kooch
That just goes to show you that fans are basically wasting their time when they're trying to fan-cast their faves in roles. 😂
The director will always go with whatever actor they feel is best for the role and envisions who they have in mind for the film and character they're trying to portray onscreen.
It could ALSO be that at 6'5/6'6, JE might just be a bit too tall onscreen. It might actually be a bit distracting to some viewers. That's especially true when it seems like most actors and scene partners are quite short (5'9 and under). I know most fans don't want to think about that possibility, but that could also be a factor. 🤷🏾‍♀️

omg ellie I would LOVE a long form zelda fic from you. I love your zelda writing and I think you're one of the best zelda writers around! your one shots are amazing and I love them but I found you through your mha fantasy au (woah was that really 3 years ago??) and I just remember having so much fun reading that. Speaking of that series, I like that format quite a bit, having one "main" romance that has a solid through line and development but having fun with the whole cast featuring in different chapters (and different kinks!) but whatever you decide to do I will BE there! 💕
Tumblr media
I LOVE YOU??? ok anon ur mine. /grabs u.
!!!! FR THO that's such a huge compliment omg 🥺🥺 I'm so happy you liked my old series!! i had inklings to do smthn similar with this zelda one n now that i know u like it 😏😏 I'll definitely go with it!!
for "main romance" I've got a few ideas too!! i think Link is an obvious choice LOL, but i was also considering Paya or Zelda maybe! idk yet I'm still workin out the kinks & just writing out whatever i think of atm, but!! you can always ask/recommend w/e you want !!! i love ur ideas and all u lovelies brains are so wrinkly <3 maybe I'll stick this unofficial poll right here to get a gauge since u gave me such good feedback MWAH (also all these characters r definitely going in the fic too this is just who you'd like to see as the "true romance" that threads throughout!!)

Christmas is Better Spent Together
Chapter Three: 1800
Read on AO3

Rating: General Audiences
Categories: Gen, M/M
Fandom: Good Omens
Relationships: Aziraphale & Crowley, Aziraphale/Crowley
Characters: Aziraphale, Crowley
Words: 797
7 times Aziraphale and Crowley spent Christmas together (and 1 time they didn't)
Soho, London, England - 1800
Crowley nudged the front door to the bookshop open with his foot, readjusting the tin of biscuits in his arms, “Hey, angel. It’s me. I got the biscuits you wan– woah.” He stopped and stared out across the shop’s interior. Festive decorations were scattered everywhere the eye could see. Garlands along each bookshelf. A red and green blanket was thrown over Aziraphale’s favourite chair. Candles lined the windows, casting flickering lights over the already serene room. Paper snowflakes were strung up between the shelves, creating a canopy over the walkways.
“Hello, dear! Let me relieve you of these,” Aziraphale stepped forward and took the biscuit tins from Crowley’s arms and set them on a nearby table while the Demon remained fixated on the decor.
His gaze eventually dropped to Aziraphale. The candlelight shone like stars in the Angel’s eyes. “You did all this?”
Aziraphale beamed, “I did, yes. Do you like it?”
Crowley made a noise of affirmation, “Looks nice. Would’ve taken a lot of work, I bet?”
“Oh, yes. I decided I wanted to do it all the human way. No Miracles involved whatsoever.”
“What made you want to decorate anyway? You’ve never decorated for the holidays before.”
“Well, I’ve never really had a place of my own that I could decorate. Not in the way I wanted, anyway. So, I thought, seeing as how this is my first Christmas as a bookshop owner, I should celebrate it properly. Hot cocoa. Festive treats. Decorations. All the likes of Christmas!” Aziraphale wiggled in that way he does when he gets excited.
Crowley felt the corner of his lip curl fondly. “‘Festive treats.’ I suppose that’s what you wanted the biscuits for?”
“Thank you for bringing those, dear boy.” Aziraphale resolutely did not mention the three biscuit tins he had shoved in a cabinet before Crowley arrived. “Christmas would not be the same without them, right?”
“Right,” Crowley agreed, without really knowing what he was agreeing to.
Aziraphale smiled nervously, “It’d be rather rude of me to send you back out into the cold after coming all this way. Perhaps I could make it worth your while? Pour us up a nightcap? Share these delicious biscuits you’ve brought me?”
Crowley pretended to think about it, “How could I refuse with that reasoning?”
The Angel lit up and went to fetch the wine. Crowley didn’t ask why Aziraphale already had two glasses readily available. Aziraphale poured them both a glass of red. Their glasses clinked. They drank as Christmas Eve rolled into Christmas Morning.
—————
Crowley blinked blearily awake as consciousness slowly returned to him. “Good morning, dear,” Aziraphale spoke from somewhere in the room. Crowley propped himself up from where he was lying on the sofa. He didn’t remember taking off his glasses and setting them on the coffee table, nor how he’d ended up with a red and green blanket over his lap, yet here he was. He looked around the room and found Aziraphale tucked away in his armchair with a book.
“Sorry, must’ve forgotten to sober up last night. Didn’t mean to fall asleep on you.” Crowley rubbed at his eyes, still not fully awake. “What time is it?”
Aziraphale closed his book, “Oh, that’s quite alright. Seems like you needed the rest. It’s currently a quarter past ten in the morning.”
“I should probably go, then. Don’t want to take up too much of your morning reading time,” Crowley rolled into a sitting position, stretching languidly and grabbing his glasses to place back on his face.
“It’s really no bother, Crowley, but before you go, I have something for you.” Aziraphale stood and trotted into one of the back rooms.
Crowley stared after him, “wot?”
Aziraphale returned with a small box in hand and extended it out to Crowley.
Crowley continued to stare dumbly at the box, not moving to take it. “This isn’t part of our arrangement.”
The Angel smiled, “It’s not, no. Giving gifts is growing popular among other Christmas traditions. I said I wanted to partake in the full Christmas experience, and I meant it.”
Finally taking the box, the Demon began to open it but cut himself off, “but I didn’t get you anything.”
“Of course you did! You brought me biscuits!”
Crowley just shook his head and carefully peeled the lid back. Inside sat a beautifully crafted bow tie. The material was a deep black with some degree of shine to it when the light caught it just right. In the bow tie’s centre was a rectangular smoky quartz secured by a silver pendant.
“Ngk– I… wh… I don’t know what to say. Thank you?” Crowley looked up at Aziraphale, confused yet enamoured.
Aziraphale’s eyes crinkled in joy, “There’s no need to thank me. Merry Christmas, Crowley.”
“Merry Christmas, angel.”

*New to me
Thoughts on the New to Me films:
New Year's Eve we watched RRR, a lot of fun, energetic, bright and action-packed. I enjoyed the way that little attention was given to the British characters. They were straight up villains in ill fitting ahistorical costumes, kind of like the way Indian/Asian characters are treated in Western films most of the time...$$$
New Year's Day we watched Peter's Friends, a drama/comedy from the early 90s starring all of the famous Cambridge Footlights. Big Chill-ish film set in a country house over the Christmas holidays. $$$
How to Get a Head in Advertising was weird and also really good. Had a similar vibe to Withnail and I (possibly because of Richard E. Grant, but also possibly the mixture of the surreal with the realistic). Quite stage-y in some ways but clever and savage in it's satire of life in the 80s. $$$
Frieda: Oh I loved this! Weird World War II melodrama about a German girl marrying a British boy and all the trouble it causes with his complex family situation. Such a stellar cast including the late, great Glynnis Johns. $$$$
The Quick and the Dead: I set my expectations quite low for this and was pleasantly surprised. I liked Sam Raimi's comic book-y take on gunfighters and esp. loved Sharon Stone's character. We love to see a female action hero with no love interest. A nice twist on the Man with no Name trope. Excellent cast as well with Russell Crowe, Gene Hackman, Roy Scheider and Woody Stroud in his final film. $$$
The Barefoot Contessa: Joseph Mankewitcz is one of the geniuses of old Hollywood but this ain't it, chief. Just kind of all of the place melodrama that makes no sense and relies too much on Ava Gardner looking amazing in technicolor in the South of France. A bit of a commentary on Grace Kelly who a few years earlier married minor royalty on the Riviera. Even Rossano Brazzi can't save this mess for me. $
Rhubarb: Two genres I usually kind of hate (family-friendly animal centered film, sports film) combined into one and it's actually a lot of fun. Ray Milland and a bunch of classic character actors as the baseball team (also Leonard Nemoy has a tiny part as a mobster) in this slight/ predictable romp. $$
The Birds: Woah, shit this was good. I should have known. Amazing tension created and Hitchcock just sells the surreal horror with lots of rear projection...so. much. rear. projection. $$$
House of Yes: How about House of NOPE. Ugh what a mess this was. Some good performances and intriguing story, but it was very stagey and I don't know why the 90s couldn't make a story about adult children and their parents without reducing everyone to cliches and stereotypes but this and Six Degrees of Separation are definitely guilty of that, but the latter is just a better film. $
Cassandra Cat: Takes a long time to get to the cat which given that this was a family film from the 60s might be a problem for some viewers, expecting a more cat-centric movie. Interesting riff on fairy tales from the Czech New Wave. Beautiful Demy-esque technicolor and settings make this 60s nonsense fly by. $$
The Day the Earth Caught Fire: 60s nuclear panic disaster film that really just shows the earth as it is now in the throws of global warming. Yikes. Thoughtfully written and well acted by a bunch of folks I'd never heard of. $$
For Me and My Gal: Directed by Busby Berkley and starring Gene Kelly and Judy Garland and set in the 1920s on the Vaudeville circuit, I was expecting a lot more fun, dancing, color, costumes etc. This is actually more of a black and white war time melodrama with some music shoved into it and the dancing is very rudimentary. (I think this is probably because Garland esp. at this stage wasn't in the same league with Gene Kelly and I think it would have been too noticable...). Filmed at the entry of America into WW2 this was quite a deliberate propaganda piece. $$
TLADOCB Commentary: I've watched this movie 20 times at least but the commentary really made me think about a bunch of things differently. Can't say I recommend unless you are fanatic though as it's obviously pieced together from interviews Michael Powell and Martin Scorcese $$
Water (1985): If you smoke the exact right strain of sativa and ignore some of the more dated aspects of this 80s comedy, that reads as if Local Hero were a Cheech and Chong film--this is a total classic. Irreverent Michael Caine just straight up breaking character the minute he turns into a guerilla fighter in the jungle and being far too competent and cool, and then snapping back to sweetly shy, inept British Civil Servant, finding he actually loves his hated backwater post (the invent Casara part Caribbean, part Devon Jurassic Coast) while having to actually do his job. Political satire and fully both barrels to Maggie Thatcher and Reagan. Good on em. Filmed in St. Lucia, the movie has a zany heart and little taste, hoovering up vast quantities of competent TV players from my youth: Herman Munster and Reginald Perrin to name but two. Awkward love story and some uneven acting from Valerie Perrin and Brenda Vaccaro. I enjoyed myself, heartily, anyway. $$$
The Ballad of John and Yoko: Technically a video essay with amazing production values (the licensing alone was epic) dragging together disparate topics around the central theme of women being blamed for bad things happening to infantalized male geniuses. Is it the most coherent argument? No. Does it absolutely tap into many unexpressed or implied ideas that have been floating around since me too? Absolutely. $$
Track 29: This was some of the worst casting I've ever seen in a film. When I think of Texas nurse who is into trains and spanking, I don't automatically think of comedian Sandra Bernhardt. When I think of an actress of that era who was old enough to play Gary Oldman's mother, I don't think of Theresa Russell who is the same age as Oldman and looked every bit as young as he did in the film. Maybe that was the point? I'm not sure. The story was weird, like a Southern Gothic melodrama/black comedy ala Flannery O'Connor, but there was something off about the whole thing.

So much happened in this session. Started by spamming WIRE messages to the club. Didn't realize there were so many bits of characterization there. Ayana straight up admits to being into girls lol. Aquarium layout was much nicer than the Sun Temple's. Also had a lot of pretty rooms! The fish... Another banger for the OST though not quite as hard hitting as Onboro. Reina Ueda's range is crazy. Kotono getting into a petty name calling contest with Mirei and then doubling down later was what I am here for. I love it when characters choose to suck! Her punching out the guy after saving him was great too. Mirei throwing a tantrum and everything being played a bit less seriously was a nice cooldown after the previous arc. Looks like any big reveals for Kotono are going to have to wait a bit more though. Her character story looks like its moving to the main conflict. Speaking of character eps, there were a lot, especially for Ayana and Eiji. I didn't expect Ayana to be one of the older members. No concrete age but based on her idol career + the years she stayed shut in I'm guessing late twenties to thirties. I wonder if there's anything deeper to the diving into the person's heart or if it's just for emphasis. Still, the idol backstory makes a lot of sense. I wouldn't be surprised if she hated men even without the tragedy of what happened to her friend. I'm curious to see how it will resolve. In one of the eps Aria mentions how it's possible that someone can't just heal and move on and I appreciated the game having a line for it because it shouldn't be like a Fire Emblem support where someone just fixes a problem in three conversations. Ayana sending everyone a letter was great too! I love when more of the cast gets involved beyond the mc and Aria. Also everyone supporting the potential yuri was nice. Now, it tying into Eiji's story was the real woah moment. Not that Eiji needed more suspicion thrown his way, but that kinda confirmed his kidnapping story was bs. And then he casually goes and tries to kill the guy lol. I buy that he's a lawyer (evil) but not so much the guilt being too much for him. Lots of theories as to why he's so mad so we'll see which one is his actual trauma. The other character eps weren't as dramatic. Izuru's eps were about what I expected but its early. Naruko's went in a different direction than I expected but I'm here for it as someone who has struggled with mustering up creativity. Speaking of relatable, Suzuna trying to have lunch with people was cute, though I don't think her trauma was simply isolating herself. Shogo's teased his issue with Thorn again which I don't expect to get any light on anytime soon and Kotaro's has been surprisingly slow moving too. Aria straight up hiding things from Mifue in her ep was a twist though. Aria finally being compelling... I never thought I'd see the day. Mifue being a volleyball player and her weird relationship with food makes me think she's starved herself? Or developed an eating disorder. In battle her outfit has the mask over her mouth too. Brings up some possibly disturbing implications with Kotono (her outfit only changes below the bottom half) and Eiji summoning fire. Now I feel like I should definitely be paying more attention to the designs! Looking forward to the musician hangout portion! Oh and wanted to thank mads for adding commentary to these posts too. Appreciate having a place to ramble on. Apologies for the length!
This sparks joy, yay yay!!
The wire stuff is always super fun and adds all sorts of details you might miss! You can also check WIRE and ask for a recap of where you are with the plot and youll get all sorts of little bits from the rest of the gang about it! It's such a cute mechanic!
Sadistic Queen is a very fun one! I love how the boss theme's piano is so discordinant, it reflects so well on the petulant temper tantrum of a musician.
I think the diving to the heart is just for emphasis, and a reflection on how you are moving towards something deeply personal. You had to work to get that far, sort of thing.
Ayana and Eiji are extremely good additions, I like them adding more adults to the team. I wonder which of the gang you think are underage? The original promotional material for OG Caligula via it's key art pushed Kotono as a Main Heroine, which is the most comedic choice.
Shogo is my favourite of the main gang, for what it's worth.
The Catharsis Effects are always really interesting, from both a visual design standpoint as well as the flower choices. In fact, when they did the anime adaptation and made the Male Protag into a full character, they changed his flowers to fit.
I cant think of much more to comment on right now but make no apologies for the length! Im very happy to hear this!

Woah wow. Jay writes ideas for the HTTYD au for NPMD because he's enough of a nerd that they'd get killed in that musical.
Right. Gonna go over each of our main cast a bunch. It's gonna be a lot probably. But it's gonna be fun. Because of that. Below the cut.
Peter
As I said in my original post, I think Pete would be out stand in Hiccup. I don't think the Spankoffskis are quite chief status. But I also don't think they're the lowest class. Middle class Peter. Thanks to research, this actually is present in the types of clothes that each character would wear so I'm also gonna talk about that.
Being middle class, I think Pete has access to furs and new fabrics. Maybe some leather from their ancestors has been passed down from when their clan was a higher class. If so, I think it would be found as belts or bands around their wrists. He's not in tattered clothing, but I also think he's crafty. He'd likely prefer to repair his clothes himself instead of getting new ones.
Now onto the dragons.
As I said. Pete is our Hiccup. I think he tries to kill a dragon - to impress Steph - but only manages to wound it. He's unable to kill it and nurses it back to health.
I want to avoid having them fly night furies. So I think Pete's dragon would be a Grapple Grounder. Because I think it's very Tinky. And that's what I'm going with for their dragons. Each of our main sixes dragons are the LIB I associate with them most. :) (Also I'm not going in depth with regards to the dragons. I'm using the wiki for it.)
Pete has a general dislike to killing dragons, but he understands why they do it. I think when he kickstarts the island into liking dragons, Ted doesn't go against him as much as Stoic does to Hiccup. But I think Ted does try to steer his brother into a better approach to helping them understand. This only comes after finding the Grapple Grounder wrapped around the wood pillars of their house.
-
Steph
Steph is the Astrid stand in but she's the daughter of the Chief (Solomon). She's got all new cloths and furs and leathers to show for it, too.
I think she's entirely capable of killing a dragon and has done it before. She just doesn't want to do it a lot because. Of course she doesn't. Whether it's out of a genuine dislike for killing dragons or her wanting to go against her dad is yet to be seen (it's a bit of both).
Before Pete finds the dragon, I think she still thinks he's cute. But in more of a "you're gonna die out here, let me protect you" way.
When Pete takes her on the first flight, I think she fully starts to fall for him then.
I think her dragon would be a sand wraith because it has a big mouth. And her dragon is nibbly.
I don't think Solomon ever opens up to the idea of dragon riding. Not even when everyone else starts to. I think it gets him killed and because of this, Steph takes over rule of the island. And she does it well, I think, once she learns to.
-
Ruth
Oh Ruth. I think Ruth is lower class - in an orphanage with Richie, honestly. Both of their parents were killed by dragons. Thanks to this, they wear mainly cloth clothing and have plenty of repairs they've done to them, themselves.
Ruth wants to kill a dragon but she underestimates herself because everyone else does. She's the smallest adult on the island and is incapable of killing even a smaller dragon like a Terrible Terror.
Her dragon is a Slithersong. Because Pokey. And the slither-song is black and blue and that's too perfect to pass up.
I think she's less inclined to trust the dragons when Pete tries to get everyone behind him. But when she sees that Richie trusts them - and probably even Steph trusts them entirely first - Ruth comes around to it.
-
Richie
Already did this opening part on Ruth's part so. No need to go over it again.
I think Richie loves to read about the dragons, he wants to learn all about them and learn how they tick - he also thinks they're just very cool. But I think he understands and is - at first - encouraging of the killing. He's probably killed a few himself.
I think he's incredibly open to the concept of not killing the dragons, despite this. I think he's willing to change his mind because he knows so much about them outside of hunting them. He's one of the first to trust Peter when he says about training them.
His dragon is a Changewing (wiggly) because they can come in green and honestly. Read the wiki for this one. If you're gonna do it for any of them. This is the one where you'll be like "oh this is wiggly as a dragon".
-
Grace
Grace, like Pete, is middle class. She's got cloth and fur and family leather, but not as much as a chief or other higher class families would have. But she does have more than Peter.
I think she's a firm believer in killing the dragons thanks to her parents filling her with the same fear and hatred for the creatures that they were.
She's not very open to riding one, until she does, and then she almost definitely goes the complete opposite extreme. As I said in my original post, I think she'd be very likely to be an ally in the first movie, and an antagonist in the sequel. I don't know what her motivation would be. Just know that I think she would be.
Her dragon would be the Hobblegrunt. (Blinky). It's sensitive to emotions and changes colors due to them, so I think having that with a villain Grace would be an interesting concept.
Her parents don't ever really change their minds on dragon riding, though. Even if their daughter does ride. Mark was always fine with dragons.
-
Max
Max is one of the high class families who are connected with the chief through either old business or blood. They have plentiful fabrics and leathers and furs, and they're all in the best quality.
Max is probably one of the strongest young killers of dragons in the establishing universe, pressured to be that way from his family who are the cliche viking strongmen who want nothing more than to kill the biggest/toughest/strongest dragon and probably mount the head and take the scales and hide for personal use.
This is why I've decided to break the thing I said at the beginning. Max gets a light fury. Because Webby. And also I think he'd be so deeply cautious of trusting them that having something as ethereal as a light fury (who Webby was always going to be) would be a good reason to open his mind a little bit.
I think his dad deserves to die in his hatred for dragons and wouldn't survive the first installment. :)
-
Anyway that about covers the main cast of characters. I don't have much other thoughts right now considering it's taken. So long to write this post.
Quick disclaimer that it's been a few months since I've seen the movies and those are the only installments of the series that I've ever actually seen. The wiki helped me with the dragon types. I plan on watching my way through the show eventually.
Please!! If you want to add to this I am very open to it!!! Especially if you're more knowledgeable on the franchise than I am!

Tri-Lights - Wheel of Fortune: Chapter 5
Location: Yumenosaki Tennis Court Characters: Sora, Natsume, Tsumugi & Madara
Tumblr media
Tsumugi: …Thank you for waiting, Mikejima-kun.
Madara: Oh? It seems you two finished talking a lot earlier than I’d expected, but have you come up with a good strategy?
Tsumugi: Yes… well, it’s a strategy from amateurs, though.
Natsume: But I think it was settled in a simple mannER. Let’s continue with our tennis gaME.
Madara: Hmm, Natsume-san at the front and Tsumugi-san at the back… That hasn’t changed. Let’s see this strategy you two have come up with.
Alright, you two serve first. Bring it on!
Tsumugi: Right. Here we go ♪
Take that…!
Madara: (Hmm, that was an ordinary serve – and one that’s easy to hit back.)
Natsume: ………♪
Madara: (They’re aiming for a volley, aren’t they? Seeing as Natsume-san is in front of the net. But their teamwork is as messy as always.)
(If Natsume-san is standing in front of the net, then that means Tsumugi-san has to cover a lot of space in the back.)
(So the right thing to do would be to throw them off balance…)
Your back is wide open, Natsume-san!
Haah!
Tsumugi: Whaa, that went into a difficult spot. Woah…
Madara: Oh? Tsumugi-san was able to catch that…?
But running around the court like that would be disadvantageous for you. If Natsume-san isn’t going to move, then how about a shot right between you guys?
Natsume: What a shaME. That’s my territoRY.
Madara: Huh…!? They predicted how I’d act…?
Natsume: What do you think of thIS? A volley with plenty of backspIN – That must be quite difficult for someone as big as you to hit since it falls right in front of the nET ♪
Madara: Ugh…! So that’s how it is!
Sora: …Hooray! Team “Switch” is the first to gain a point~☆
Madara: Well, well. Tsumugi-san, get the ball for us.
All the volleys and serves headed towards Natsume-san will be hit back to me at full power with a spin that I cannot return – that’s your strategy, isn’t it?
Tsumugi: Ahaha… I’m good at long-distance running and marathons.
I don’t think you’ll know that since you were overseas at the time.
I had so much fun when we were doing tennis rallies in our P.E. classes to the point I wouldn’t stop running if the teacher didn’t stop me.
Natsume: I feel sorry for your partner who had to keep up with yOU.
WeLL, Senpai’s numb to pain so he probably doesn’t care about thAT.
Tsumugi: Mikejima-kun would start getting tired of rallying with me and will start returning easy balls. There, Natsume-kun will immediately hit back with spinning curveballs – they’re miracle balls with a magical touch.
I’ll support Natsume-kun as he casts a spell on the balls. That’s how our roles are split. I hope it’ll be somewhat of a challenge for you.
Natsume: Inadequate ideas are worse than none at all, after aLL. This is the simple result of us putting our heads together and thinking of what we can dO.
Reading people’s minds is my forTE. By creating openings on purpoSE, Mikejima-senpai will act in a way that’s advantageous for uS…
So we’re different people nOW.
Sora: HaHa~! Master and Senpai are both amazing!
That was a wonderful strategy that made use of Master’s ingeniousness and Senpai’s stamina!
Madara: Indeed. That was a great example of teamwork that made the best of your strengths. Things wouldn’t have gone so well if you weren’t usually working together as a unit.
But if it only happened once, you can say it was just pure luck. If you can win one game from me, then I’ll release Sora-san. That was the condition for winning.
I wonder how far this strategy will take you? I’m starting to get excited too ♪
Tumblr media
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ< A few hours later. >
Tumblr media
Sora: It’s finally match point~! Let’s see if they can get lucky the third time!
Tsumugi: We won’t let you catch up this time, Mikejima-kun.
Madara: I’ll change the tides with my service ace! Here I go!
Natsume: …Senpai!
Tsumugi: (What a sharp serve…! But it’s lacking in power compared to the ones from the start of the game.)
(It seems Mikejima-kun has lost a lot of stamina as well. Which means, I can…)
(Hit back with a serve that just barely passes the net!)
(I’ve tried this exact shot numerous times for the past few hours, so I’m getting confident in this shot. Mikejima-kun will surely not be able to get this in time…!)
Haah!
Madara: …………
Ohh… it seems a victor emerges.
Congratulations, Tsumugi-san, Natsume-san. It’s your win!
Sora: HiHi~ You were both so cool! Sora knew Master and Senpai had the strength to overcome anything~♪
Natsume: …… UgH, I’m so tirED…
Tsumugi: Good job out there, Natsume-kun. You’ll catch a cold if you lie down on the court drenched in sweat, you know~?
Natsume: You’re sitting on the court all exhausted yourseLF. Why don’t you worry about yourself instead of otheRS?
Tsumugi: Ahaha… I was pretty confident I could hold out for a long time, but it looks like all the exhaustion hit me the moment I breathed a sigh of relief.
Madara: Well done, you two. I’ve got sports drinks and towels here, so feel free to take them.
Tsumugi: Oh, thank you. You’re so well-prepared~ Here you go, Natsume-kun ♪
Natsume: …I want to relax for a bit so later is fiNE.
Tsumugi: Ahaha. You’re totally exhausted, huh. Shall I wipe you down?
Natsume: No neED. I can do it myseLF.
Tsumugi: Whaa, don’t snatch the towel away from me~ You gave me a fright.
Hehe. But I’m glad we were able to win. It’s good that Sora-kun was also released ♪
Sora: HuHu~♪ Sora is also glad that Sora got to see Master and Senpai’s fiery “colour”!
Sora is happy that everything went according to Sora’s plan~♪
Tsumugi: Your… plan?
Madara: Right. It’s fine to tell them now, right, Sora-san?
Sora: HeHe~ Sora will explain!
To tell the truth, Sora was reading a sports fashion magazine yesterday and realised that “Switch” isn’t desperate enough.
It’s a new challenge so we’ll end up failing if we don’t get into it with feelings that are new and desperate. Sora thought that sort of serious feeling is what we needed.
So Sora asked “Mr Giant” to help with bringing out your desperate feelings.
Sora apologises for tricking Master and Senpai! But you two carried out Sora’s plan successfully.
Sora is really happy about that…♪
Tsumugi: So that’s what this was all about…
We thought we were being serious, but we must have looked like we were lacking in some areas in the eyes of people who actually do sports.
Madara: “Switch” has always been about elegant performances, after all. I think seriousness is part of devoting yourself to your skills, but it’s not something you should pursue physically.
That sort of unrefined side of you two was what Sora-san was looking for, right?
Sora: Yes! “Mr Giant” does a good job at accurately guessing what Sora wants to say.
Madara: Hahaha, intercultural exchange is one of my strengths, after all ♪
In any case, if you want to show a new side to yourself, you must throw away the perfect self you’ve had all this time.
You’ve both realised through this tennis game that it’s important to not show yourself too much, right?
Natsume: I ended up completely exhausted after running around for no good reason all thanks to yOU.
But I think I’m starting to understand nOW.
The experience of physically driving yourself into a cornER – so that’s the “reality that will refine yourself and make you shiNE”.
Tsumugi: Come to think of it, diamonds also don’t shine unless you polish and refine them.
Maybe that’s what the company is looking for.
Sora: That’s what Sora thinks!
Senpai and Master were shining sooo much…☆

I've been looking at your Pizza Tower art and I could have sworn your artstyle and name was familiar, then I realized you were the one who posted some of my favourite submas art back when that fandom was bigger. Either way, still glad to see your stuff!
woah really? I'm actually curious, which sbms art specifically? 😋 I'm known for a few things until I started doing AU stuff and weirdly personal pieces that is sbms esque but not quite 😅 And also most of my art is on Twitter, I haven't finished inserting all the sbms logs here too 😥
As for the pizza tower stuff, it felt like a breath of fresh air for me. I haven't done something like this ever, dunno, it's a different fandom experience IMO. I'm only a few months in so I can't describe how it feels but it feels so much more wider?
Like the sbms are literally open sourced OCs for everyone to use tbh, similar to Sun & Moon Drop from FNAF: SB and sans/spamton. In Pizza Tower due to literal sense that there's barely any story, almost anything so it's kinda the same thing except now apply that to EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER.
Like not just one or two guys and you have to force yourself to make them replicate like making multiple AUs of the same guy, no they ALL ARE SO MOLDABLE AND EASY TO CHURN AND STUFF.
You can do SO MUCH with the cast alone. I'd say it's comparable to undertale AUs except for now this feels SO SO much more tame and it's so peaceful to me.
I'm just having fun, and that's so serene.
I don't have constant displeasure of simply existing in a space and it's so awesome, same thing with sbms too. Everyone I know personally had been wonderful people, even if there are a couple of bad eggs.
Pizza tower is the same to me. I can do anything, and at the end, it doesn't matter and that's simply so fun.
My previous fandom experiences had been a paced gateway from hell itself, getting into sbms and now pizza tower has literally gave me a boost to a much more stable life and that's so cool to me. That's why I hope everyone who stumbles upon my art gets what they deserve the most!
These arts are made from passion, determination and so so much. I wish greatly everyone all the blessings the world has to offer!
Cheers!

Hi Days! I hope you're doing well and taking care of yourself and your family.
You're probably really busy, but I would love to know if you watched the new Netflix adaptation of kimi ni todoke.
It came out in March, it's quite new so no worries if you haven't.
If you have, give me your most honest opinion about everything because I haven't watched it myself yet and, as a fan of the manga and anime, I'm still hesitant about it.
Thank you very much and have a lovely day!
Because of this ask, I accidentally binged like 5 or 6 episodes yesterday when originally I was only planning on checking it out.
It is EXACTLY like the manga. At least it feels that way to me. The casting feels really good, I'm personally super impressed with Sanada Ryu's actor! Pin / Arai-sensei looks like he popped out of the manga. Yoshida is also fantastic. Yano is darling, she looks like a doll, which is a surprising yet amazing contemporary interpretation of her original 2005 character design. My funny fave is Kurumi, whoever styled her did an amazing job.
About the main couple haha, Sawako and Shota are of course super sweet, just like the manga. They both have such nice eyes, it's like...woah. Where'd they find these kids. ohhh, oohhhh I just, I love the Japanese drama cliche of "staring into each other's eyes for an inexplicably long time" and yes, yes, this drama delivers on that. The actor for Shota has a wonderfully youthful charm, too. The actress for Sawako does a great job at capturing the character's poise imo.
The framing with the Hokkaido countryside is beautiful.
My husband was watching with me, and he likes it so far!
My one concern is there were a few English subtitles I disagreed with. Like what the subtitles said were awkward compared to what was actually being said. oh well.
So that's my rave review for the first 5 or 6 or however many I watched episodes!!
I hope you are also taking care of yourself! I hope you're having a wonderful week! Feel absolutely free to talk to me about Japanese dramas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for having me start watching this!!!!!!!!!!

ngl, i feel like episode 4.. it's a great example of v-force's attempts at stakes not exactly working out. like, i don't quite know how to explain it but it just feels kind of silly, especially once you get hit with the BEYBLADING ROBOT.
psykick also just... doesn't really land, like you compared gideon to volkov but.. idk, gideon feels a lot more like a saturday morning cartoon villain, y'know? meanwhile volkov feels like a genuine threat. my best guess is that since psykick is kind of distant from the rest of the cast and we mostly just see random goons they don't really have the presence that volkov and borg have
i think a big part of why the digital sacred beasts worked so well is because of how they hit you with the gravity of the situation. it's not like, "woah!! how will our heroes get out of this one?", or atleast it's not like that for most of it, as soon as you see what happens to yuya you realize that yeah, this time they AREN'T screwing around. the fact that we actually get a glimpse into team cybers helps aswell
overall, it's hard to define what exactly it is that v-force misses that s1 succeeds at (g-rev has tonal issues of its own but that's an entire other can of worms), but it's definitely There
Sometimes I feel like it was not Gideon but Dr. B that was the problem. Gideon felt truly evil to some extent but we got to see more of Dr. B who was working for him. He was your everyday psychotic scientist who was batshit feral and that might have ruined the entire vibe.
The people working under Volkov have a terrible and dark past. He was less of a scientist and more of a genius menace and this fact stands out in comparison to the villains in v-force. V-Force picked up elements from season 1 but the introduction of new villains might have been jarring. They were different and had nothing to do with anyone’s childhood. It was all the present, making it less palpable in comparison to s1. This in fact is a huge mistake taken from the writers of this season. They should have associated someone’s background to the villains. This is exactly why the Yuya/Wyatt arc saved the entire first half of V-Force. The interaction between Rei and Salima (practically everything after the Yuya arc) saved it as well.
Also Barthez and Volkov’s connections are basically a repetition of Dr. Zagart and Gideon’s but again…it wasn’t just anyone..it was Volkov. Hence it was deeper.
Overall the inner conflicts, conflicts within every team, misunderstandings, the characters’ uncertainty and their musings and panics were a few elements that were executed very well in this season, much better in comparison to the other two. The Kane/Zeo betrayals for Takao +his rival Ozuma, Yuya for Kai, Salima for Rei and Mariam for Max were some awesome interactions this season and it does make me wanna go watch V-Force again.
Also V-Force antagonists are criminally underrated. I love Ozuma and I think he deserves fame too.
The GRev part is definitely true. I see all it’s flaws now and the one season that used to be my favourite has managed to tick me off real good. In my eyes it’s no where close to s1.
