Toto Isshiki and quiet firing
I am not having a superb time at work that in order for me to be sane is to think about my fave fictional characters in order to make the day-to-day life bearable. Suddenly I thought of Toto Isshiki in the beginning of the series where his boss Amamiya was not giving him enough work to do. He even has his own folder.
In Japan, this practise is called “quiet firing” or oidashibeya, “literally the banishment room or the expulsion room.”
Employees are typically placed in a room, often windowless, where they have nothing to do. In many cases their business cards are taken away, and they are forced to do menial, mind-numbing tasks, or given nothing to do at all. Being excluded from the mainstream is particularly painful for those who have dedicated themselves to the company for many years, especially in the context of Japanese culture where murahachibu (ostracism from the group) is a traditional and strong form of punishment.
That’s why at first I was not so keen on Amamiya. I found her not so kind at all.
Akira Amano is of course aware of this practise and must have heard of it. When Toto appeared on the first chapter frames he was not having the finest days at work. He was not asked and quickly dismissed as nuisance. He had to prove that he was not only dedicated but a professional one as well. For Toto, meeting Ron Kamonohashi was the best thing that could ever happen to him. On the other hand, Ron shut himself off from the world. In the end, they badly needed each other to fill the hole of what the other was lacking. That’s why I am very invested in RonToto and I believe that this has always been Akira’s first and foremost aim: find two desperate idiots, let them meet each other, let them become friends and then fall in love.

Well linkedin, I think you'll find that's called "constructive dismissal" and it's really hard to prove in court but it is illegal
Tumblr media
Stop repackaging terms that already have definitions into some quirky internet trend. Quiet quitting is just working to rule and it's a tactic used by union members all over

How to tell if your employer's HR is quiet firing you
HR Person: Please feel free to ask me questions about your evaluation. :)
Me: *asks questions about the evaluation*
HR: *sets up a meeting with my supervisor; I'm supposed to be at the meeting too, but my supervisor is the one that tells me about it, HR never contacts me*
HR Director: *during the meeting tells my supervisor the gist of what I had written in my email (which was written with the understanding that it was in confidence and that I was simply asking questions about my evaluation); presents the email as if I had sent an unprompted complaint email*
=-=-=
From my supervisor's latest evaluation: PaddySnuffles has been keeping her desk organized but we're unsure if that will continue going forward.
Me: So I'm meeting expectations but that's not enough? How can I improve?
My employer's HR director: Oh, it's not about improvement. We're just saying that we don't know if you're only doing it because that's an issue we mentioned in the last evaluation and will stop when no one's paying attention anymore. :)
Me: So what can I do to change that perception?
HR Director: *changes subject & doesn't answer the question*
=-=-=
My Supervisor: You often have food [I never have food] and drink at your desk, and that's not good near computers.
Context: I have a cup of tea at my desk. Just like all the other staff have drinks at their desks.
=-=-=
HR Director: You need to organize your desk before you leave for the day.
Me: I always do.
HR Director: Okay but you need to organize your desk before you leave for the day.
=-=-=
HR Director: We need to talk about your tardiness problem.
Me: What tardiness problem?
HR Director: You were late once in the past 3 months. That's unacceptable.
Me: I slept through my alarm but I called the moment I woke up to let them know I was going to be late. And it only happened the once.
HR Director: You know how many times I've been late for work? None. Even in snow storms and though I live far from work.
Voiceover Narrator: HR Director had, in fact, been 15 minutes late for the very meeting that was taking place.
=-=-=
My Supervisor: Sending emails isn't convenient for me.
HR Director: So you two should prioritize talking in person instead of via email from now on.
Context: I had have a medical accommodation for primarily communicating via email because I'm autistic.

Welcome to my rant about my job
My manager told me when I was hired in that we were overstaffed and I'm "lucky" that she was "kind" enough to give me a chance. Come to find out I was one of 4 new hires. Annnnnd they just hired 5 more people in my 4th week and cut me down to 9 HOURS a week here soon.
I'm being quiet fired I think. Since I hired in, whenever I work a shift with the manager she just treats me so bad, and keeps cutting my hours. I'm constantly getting lectured, that I'm not doing enough(my work friend and I tested this out by having us both do the same exact thing but I was the one who got picked out. Oh no we both put a candy on the wrong shelf! But I got blamed for BOTH)
I've heard my Manger talking to customers, justifying the way she talks to me in order to "knock her privileged self down a peg" wtf you mean girl, just because I live with my mom and go to college DOES NOT mean I'm a spoiled lil rich girl. I got my education by working hard for the scholarships I have. I worked my ASS of my whole life just to me able o get to where i am now. If it weren't for the scholarships, I never would have considered further education. I live with my mom cause wtf I can't afford an apartment, bills or really much of anything on the $12 and hour, 9 hour week which actually subtract 2 hours of that for unpaid breaks, that I make.
I have worked hard for the life that I have, and have faced fucking abuse from family and friends, have financially struggled as a family for YEARS. The only reason we haven't lived paycheck to paycheck as a family is because we left my alcoholic abusive father who would steal our money for selfish means. But no. My PRIVILEGED ass needs to be "knocked down a peg".
I'm hoping to stick it out until I can maybe find a paid internship for my major. After all I have textbooks to buy, gas, car insurance, money for the repairs for my car that's literally falling apart(needs repairs biweekly, oh! And trying to find a cheaper replacement for the car as a whole), help for my mom with groceries and rent so she can buy my lil bro some new clothing....oh! And because it's summer our energy bill is higher so gotta help with that. Not gonna touch the fact that I have need to deal with trying to figure out whats wrong with me health wise(cause that's on the backbones for now. Don't have the time to deal with it)
And yes, I am thankful for everything, my moms kindness, my brothers, my moms boss(who's like and uncle honestly. Him and his family has helped us so much), the fact that my family's budgeting and saving since leaving my dad has let us live a lil more comfortably. That my grandparents have been there for us.
Never fucking judge a book by its cover cause you never know what's its about until you open it. And you know nothing about the authors life until they reveal it to you.
I really needed to rant about this so whoever reading this, thanks for listening.

Two Sides
Tumblr media
Light and dark, good and evil. That's things people like to hear about. Certainly people don't want to hear about the literal two sides of a coin. Some of the most recent two sides of the coin one could say would be quiet quitting and quiet firing. While I understand the use of these terms, like most new made up terms, these things were happening already. We just have buzzwords for them now.
Quiet Quitting can be unfair to a company, assuming the company is good. The employee chooses out of nowhere to simply do the bare minimum. To a company this looks bad. How dare they do what they are supposed to do for the amount of time they are supposed to do it and then leave on time. They literally decide to do their job...and that's it. No more, no less. There's technically nothing wrong with this but just don't expect to get promoted when doing so. The only part that truly makes it unfair is where the quitting part comes in. Alongside doing what is required, it is done in silence. They will provide next to no input things, keep to themselves, look for the next role, and then just up and go. This is also pretty much the default state for many my age as stability is hard to find at times. We like this. We get toTake the Power Back"as they say. This is harder to do in a role where metrics come into play. Everyone has them to some extent, but sales roles or money driven companies all about their KPIs are probably gonna flip the switch.
The other side of this coin blindsides the employee. You get denied a promotion, a role switch, or assigned a role you didn't ask for. A complete turnaround you aren't expecting. Before you know it, a lot is changing...but it is to force you out. Quiet Firing. Why do we need buzzwords for this stuff? It was already happening. Anyway...all changes and even if you were trying to go because you see the writing on the wall, they want to be the ones to put you out...except if YOU quit, no unemployment or severance for you. Even if they eventually cave and fire you, even after putting you in crap work conditions, keep in mind there are sneaky aspects to this as well. Severance is basically hush money and who can blame anyone for taking it...but the company gets to avoid guilt and/or not be out in a bad light by a disgruntled employee. People like to toss around the word gaslighting a lot when it comes to abusive relationships but work counts too. Your boss or other authority figures can very much make you feel crazy for your valid concerns.
Both situations are a bit uncomfortable and I'm not on the side of a company really, unless they are truly one of the good ones, or the only way to know 100% is if you're the one in charge of the company and hopefully you don't do the same thing to others. The point really, as many things or people can have two sides to them, you only focus on your two sides. Do you let yet another setback, caused by you or not, turn you into a caring and or determined person, or does it turn you bitter and resentful. I recall a particular role in which I was given the chance to shine before a shift in management. One where I was able to manage for a bit. I liked having a team and helping them along their path because a year before then, I was on the same one. I didn't forget where I came from. Didn't just bark orders and expect my team to cover up my for shortcomings, or take credit for what they did. Didn't want to show two sides. Just the humble one that got me into a good place to begin with. Money itself isn't evil it's the people that use the tool, which then choose whether to be a good or bad person with it. Even life or death is two sides.
The whole premise behind this page is to keep choosing the former against all odds and not have each and every post made be the last, unless we choose it to be. Then we make new stories, even if not told here.

I got let go from my job today for seeking medical care.
In early October I got diagnosed with a skin condition that has left my body in a state of disrepair without proper time to heal. Some days I wasn’t able to walk or move very well without breaking down into tears. I was a statistical data analyst and I work as a E-Sports player as well. My stress was insanely high and I had missed one day every other week if my body was hurting. This didn’t seem to be an issue until I went in for a mammogram and MRI.
I had to go in for both as I had been showing signs of both breast cancer and early signs of a stroke. I was supposed to have gone in the day after thanksgiving but it had gotten rescheduled to the 30th and it was very important I be there. I had emailed my boss with 72 hours notice and I was immediately pulled into her office to be questioned on where I was going. (I have also provided documentation for every single doctors visit I had) I told her that when I returned on the 1st I would have a doctors not for documentation. Everything seemed fine.
I went in today and did my job as normal, nothing seemed off. I left after closing and two hours later get a call from my hiring manager, I had been let go. I was stunned as my job performance had been nothing short of over what was expected of me, and then she said it, “your attendance”.
Now I understand letting someone go after I excused days off but these people saw me limp my way into work shaking at my desk and knew how ill I was and STILL fired me. I should also mention that I was overseeing 75% of the IT department.
I don’t know how to feel, I’m still very much in a state of shock.

Okay but it's super interesting how
Din = Power = Ganondorf
Naryu = Wisdom = Zelda
Farore = Courage = Link.
Because Din, in the hylian creation myth, created the physical world. Naryu then created the laws - gravity, time, etc. And Farore finally created life - plants and people.
Din created the body, naryu the mind, Farore the soul.
And the triforce and its wielders so perfectly reflect that.
Ganon is physical power, he is big and intimidating and he breaks things. He is cunning and determined, but that's not what he focuses on. He is might makes right.
Zelda is wisdom and cleverness. She is stall tactics and information and team work. She is a powerful mage with a spine of steel, but that's not how she'll win. She is the pen being mightier than the sword.
Link is courage and persistence. He is the wild card sneaking behind enemy ranks, always moving, plunging into terrifying situations head first. He's a phenomenal fighter with a keen wit, but that's not what will get him through his challenges. He is bravery not being the absence of fear but the triumph over it.
They sit in perfect parallels to each other.
And ganon is reborn through his body - his resurrection is immortality. No matter how low he is cast, as long as he has a body he can claw his way back. He can cling to his power, build it ever higher.
Zelda is reborn through the magic of her bloodline. It's the accumulated knowledge handed down for generations, the unique power she must master, the skills she must develop to survive and get her kingdom out the other side intact. Even her name, the knowledge of herself, is handed down from all the way from the very first. Her ancestors knowledge of her future presence, her stability, is what gives her the edge.
Link is reborn in spirit. He is not bound by flesh or blood. Just like his wanderlust soul he can reappear in any time or place. His variation, his unpredictability, is exactly how he fights. It's what makes him so hard to pin down.
Ganons need to build strength means he can't chase after link. Links impulsiveness means zelda can outwit him. Zeldas stationary predictability means she's an easy target for ganon.
But the other direction?
Fire melts ice, ice redirects lightning, lightning burns fire.
And that's the very essence of the triforce.
#It's little details spread across the games like this that just makes it work so WELL it's SO COOL#They're all great at all parts of the triforce but they CHOOSE to focus on the path most meaningful to them#And that's literally reflected in their unique cycles of reincarnation isn't that just AMAZING#And that's why the team up is so important! If they were all working against each other they'd be locked spinning their wheels#If zelda and ganon teamed up link would immediately die and if link and ganon teamed up zelda would instantly perish#It's the link zelda team up that means ganon is the one who kicks it#Also the elemental thing was cool but they do jump around a bit. Like wind is there half the time#In botk the gerudo have lightning and the goron have fire. Farosh still has lightning tho and dinraal fire#In ss lanaryu was the lightning and faron had water like its all over the place thematically. And that's when it's only 3!#Don't even get me started on the 5/7 lots notankyu#But that's the most common group and it's also thematically accurate#Fire being the only one able to self perpetuate with fuel. Can be banked up again. Ice compresses with time but needs the right environment#Lightning go boom 👍 you can feel the static in the air but you don't know when/where it'll strike and then it's all over#Like fr it's hilarious zelda and ganon are playing the long game and link runs past eats all the pieces and while ganons yelling after him#Zelda checkmates his king. And nobody can prove she wasn't cheating because nobody was looking lmao#Ah the duality of metaphors#ANYWAY isn't that so neat???#Reason no.372 why rhoam was a terrible king he didn't just screw up he did it ✨thematically✨#If link had been allowed to run off and get dirty and if zelda was allowed to study her interest (like post kingdom fall FOR EXAMPLE)#They'd have won (like aoc) but nooooooo. I've already made a post (or 3) about it lmao I'll be quiet now#loz#legend of zelda#botw#triforce#loz link#the legend of zelda#zelda#loz botw#ganondorf#loz ganon

Practical Interview
Alright Danny, just breathe.
It’s just a job interview. No biggie. Just relax.
Jazz helped you with your resume, all you gotta do is go in there and 1. Not sass, but talk to them, 2. Maybe show ‘em a couple moves, 3. Pray I get the job.
Man, is that a tall tower.
.
.
.
Alrighty, in you go Fenton.
Danny has to dodge a blue laser bolt, which hits his precious resume, the moment he steps through the doors.
“Hey! Watch where your shooting, man!”
Great, nailed that first step.
The Teen Titans are fighting a large group of villains, kinda being overwhelmed, if he’s being honest?
Well, guess this’ll be one of those “learn on the job” type-a thing.
TL:DR, Danny has Jazz help him make a hero-resume for the Teen Titans since they don’t have any sort of tryouts or job application.
